Excellent burgers. P. Terry's is an Austin original hamburger joint, the staff is always friendly and professional. If you are looking for an Austin friendly environment with consistent delicious food take a trip to P. Terry's. My favorites are the veggie burger or the new spicy chicken sandwich (hot). read more

Gosh! I can't eat in this place anymore! The last 3 times I have been there it stinks to high heaven because their mop smells! Bad! Use bleach for heavens sake! This place is always spotless but the smell of the stinky floors overwhelms the great food! And for Pete's sake turn the volume down on the freakin music! Sone if us are eating and trying to work in here!!! read more

I love a good burger. I also love fast food, so naturally I have many opinions about which fast-food burgers are better than others. P. Terry's stands top among other fast food joints because of their freshest ingredients, but lacks flavors. I've had so many better burgers from many priciest and fancy places which are not considered as fast food. But this place worth a lot when knowing the fact that it is a fast food joint, Not great, but fine. Their signature sauce is really what makes the sandwich, but the burger and the bun are just OK. The patties are cooked fresh to order and topped with very few offerings you'd like. This is a great stop whenever craving a fast food burger for the better meat quality and freshness. Great to have them as a Austin own fast food burger place. read more

Horrific Experience. I've tried so many times to give this burger place a shot since I live so close but today was the last draw. My burger was soggy and lukewarm and fries were cold. This place is good at some locations but it's very obvious to me not this one. read more

Love visiting here every time I'm back in Austin. Jalapeños make their burger! Also their fries are better than in-n-out by a mile.

If I am out for a 'best bang for the buck' burger, I still head over to Whataburger. However, P. Terry's has the edge on atmosphere. Sitting here on their patio, enjoying a good oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and a decent peanut butter shake, I am struck by the chill soundtrack on their sound system and the sandbox for the kids. The burgers here have been consistently above the average fast food quality, but just a bit too pricey to warrant the five stars I would like to give. If I had a discount card to knock off about $1 per visit, it might edge out one more star. I will be back, because I like variety and think this place makes it into my top five drive-through burger joints. read more

P. Terry's Burger Stand - Needed something sweet to top off my night. - Fast Food Near Me - Austin, Texas

I recently ordered a burger and had it delivered and the order was messed up but that may have not been the restaurant's fault, but the burger when I unwrapped it was in a pile of grease and had bacon on it (which I didn't ask for) but it was burnt to a crisp practically inedible, I thought the onions would have been grilled; they where not and a quarter of my fries where just burnt crisps and overly salted. Overall it was not a good experience read more

I had initially left a not so pleasant review the first time I had this place, but the management actually reached out to me and sent me gift cards to try it again on their behalf, which is stellar customer service. This time the order was right, so there's already a fix. Food wise, P. Terrys is still kinda a mixed bag in some respects. Their burgers are a decent size, but the selection of topping is limited. While cooked well, the burgers themselves are on the dryer side, and still somewhat bland. I do like the terry's sauce. Fries are of the thin cut kind, not on the soggy side, but also somewhat bland. Lemonade is great, the breakfast potatoes are also good, much tastier than the fries. The oatmeal cookie is big and tasty, straddling the line between soft and hard, and being a great size for the price. Overall, P. Terry's definitely redeemed themselves, as they certainly did not have to send me gift cards, but it shows that they do care about their customers, even their unsatisfied ones. I respect businesses that really do pay attention to what people are saying. Food is a mixed bag, though I fed recommend trying it atleast once. Though I'm not the biggest fan, I can say I'll be back. read more

Visiting from out of town, I stumbled across this gem. For a fast food joint, this place probably has the best burger and fries for the price point. It was clean. The staff was courteous. The food was tasty. Good job! read more

Much better than the King or Clown. And customizable too! Some days I go for the double with cheese and some days I go for the chicken or veggie. You can even have any of them wrapped in lettuce and no one looks at you sideways. Sure there are other fancier local burger places, but for fast food, I'm loving local. Also, breakfast! Egg burger, yum. Aside from the good I love it how every P Terry is a little different architecturally. Still that same retro mod '60's style, and this one has a dining room which is nice. read more

Have lived in Austin over 20 years, but never tried P.Terry's until I began to notice the proliferation. Wow, they're taking over. Soooo, we tried some today. Basic Angus Burger with lots of stuff (iceburg lettuce, mayonnaise dressing, tomato). Very thin burger, nice crunch, decent flavor. My wife had a chicken sandwich with nothing on it. Came with cheese, so we had to return it and get another. Worst fries I've ever had-- limp, very thin, although a generous portion. (Many places around with thicker and crispier fries.) I do like to patronize local eateries, but I'm not sure what the fascination with this place is. read more

This P. Terry's seems to have it's stuff together. Stopped by to get a quick burger, and was able to do just that (which can be a challenge at many places). Two lines for cars moved quickly, the milkshake was great, and the burger was good. I prefer In N Out, but P. Terry's is still a good burger. The fries weren't as crunchy as I like, but that generally seems to be the case at PT. A well-run joint with good burgers and shakes is nice to have. read more

I think maybe the best fast food joint in the area! What I had: - Cheeseburger: So yummy! The near perfect size, tasty, though the burger patty is relatively bland but at least it's not rubbery. I enjoyed the ratio of the other toppings to the beef, pickles were crunchy and not soggy tissue paper, and I liked their special sauce. Also! Totes yummy, buttery bun. Chicken Sandwich: Not the best I've had... the patty texture is too dense, reminding you of just how processed this thing is. Not bad, but skip this joint if you're looking for chicken. - Fries: These are long, slender, crispy fries that I greatly enjoyed. Best fries I've had from a fast food joint, including In-N-Out. However, they lose their crisp after about 45 min, so keep that in mind. I'll have to remember to ask for extra special sauce next time. read more

This was my first time eating here and I must say I didn't like it at all I ordered the chicken sandwich meal and it was nothing as described on the menu the meat was undercooked and and the way the sandwich was put together was just sloppy and instead of telling us that there was no sweet tea they gave us unsweetened tea when we informed them they hadn't given us sweet tea the employee gave us a dirty look and said they were out. I don't think I will be coming back to this establishment again they say there is a first for everything but not here. I get better service at McDonald's!. read more

This place is a great place to go for lunch. I got a cheeseburger, fries,a cookie, and a vanilla shake and I was pleased. The burger tasted amazing and was just the right size. The fries were a bit on the crispy side but still ok.The milkshake was rich and creamy and tasted like a real milkshake. The cookie was delicious in all the food is fantastic. The environment was nice and had no fumes. You could either sit outside or inside but I just did inside. The bathroom was surprisingly clean it looked like it belonged in a mansion.Overall this place is a great spot for eating alone or with family or friends.Next time you want lunch keep this place in mind. read more

It was decent. My chicken burger was warm, not hot, and they put raw instead of grilled onions on it. They made it right, though, which made me happy. My son enjoyed his cheeseburger and my daughter her veggie patty, which was a tad dry, but tasty. Fries were first rate and the ketchup was delicious and natural. We'll be back for breakfast, on our way to school, soon.. read more

P. Terry's Burger Stand - Run of the mill, tried and true, P Terry's menu :-) - Fast Food Near Me - Austin, Texas

Waited 15+ mins for 2 milkshakes. When I finally received them, they were horrible. I also had to pull forward so they can serve other customers (no issue there) but it caused others to honk at me, despite there being another lane and plenty of room to drive around. Overall aggravating experience. I would like to try the food though and update this. read more

Night crew has never messed up my order. Day crew CAN NEVER GET ANYTHING RIGHT. I get that lunch is slammed but y'all, payyyy attention. I ordered online, and yes I picked the right location and went to the right location ( I know because I double checked because I have done this kind of thing before) they tell me they don't have my order. Don't offer online ordering if your team cannot handle the ordering system. Like seriously, just make it where your day crew at this location doesn't accept online ordering. I have screenshots of 2 different confirmation methods, from the website and the email. So finally I get out of my curbside spot and go in after arguing with someone for 10 minutes. And she types my name in, and it pulls right up. Order has been ready for probably at least 5 out of the 10 minutes that I argued with someone. Maybe the system is slow? If that's the case, make it to where an online order even when marked "ASAP" takes 30 minutes to process so that your customer doesn't get there in 15 and spend 10 arguing with someone. I'm frustrated but I'm offering suggestions here. P Terry's y'all here me out. This location struggles with both drive through and online ordering at lunch time. In my experience, I have never had a good lunch time interaction with this location. read more

P Terry's we love you but please for the love of God hire someone that can manage this location. We come here pretty much every week. For about the last 6-7 times we have come this place is a wreck. We have to clean our own tables off, there is trash all over the floor and under tables, they run out of ketchup, there are no napkins, the trash cans have been overflowing and it goes on. We used to go to the MOPAC location and that was always impeccable. This one really does not hold up to the standard of the rest. The food is fine which is why we come back, however I am getting tired of eating in a pig sty. I also do t want people to look at me like I am crazy when we tell them we like this place and they say really, that place feels dirty....oh update our food just came out. My wife went up to get napkins and guess what?!?! There were only a couple of napkins. Surprise! Wait....I thought we were done for today's mistakes, nope I ordered a double and well I got a single. That reminds me that the last time were here I ordered a double and got nothing! read more

I love the chicken burger. It's such a great simple burger. The French fries are yummy too! And don't forget to get the lemonade !!

worst p terrys experience i've had thus far. guy on intercom was far from friendly. i never received a receipt or a total. he just repeated the order and took my cash. i ordered a regular egg burger with cheese, no meat. it came with sausage on it, which i do not eat. i also got a slice of banana bread which was dry and bitter. will not return to this location. read more

Fun atmosphere, great burgers, and I love that they have thin fries! The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are delicious too!

The burgers are very good and the fries are fabulous. Of course, burgers and fries are very much a matter of personal preference! However, be warned: the vegetarian burger tastes like mush and the chicken sandwich is definitely the worst I've ever had - rubbery and flavorless. Skip them. Nevertheless, it is a fun place and staff is pleasant. I don't love a lot of burgers, and probably a little too picky, but these definitely are worth a try. read more

My first and second experiences were bad. But recently I decided to give them another try to see if perhaps my experiences were an anomaly. Time proved that they were. I am bothered that wait times are on the long side for my taste but I hope that is because they make everything fresh. I recently vacationed in Austin and was recommended to P.Terry's Buger Stand for a quick meal before heading to the airport. I have to say P.Terry's did not disappoint they're definitely quick and my meal was fresh, needless to say they did NOT disappoint! If anyone LOVES In-N-Out Burger then you will LOVE this place, the fries are tasty long church of happiness in my mouth. So I love P Terry's but this location does not have the best customer service skills. Been several times and they have forgot to give me something/messed up my order every time. I don't even usually give bad reviews to any places, but when the girl at the window talked back to me today, it made me wonder if other people had issues with this location too. Anyways, I think y'all may need to retrain/train your employees on how to speak to customers and how to put what the costumer ordered and what it says on the receipt in the bag. read more

The chicken sandwich is terrible. For one thing it was freezing cold with cold white cheese on it. Soggy bun. Worst fast food sandwich I've ever had. The fries were good though. read more

We did receive the gift certificates after I provided our address again. So that's something. However, the food and service are still sub-par at this location as compared to others. Our last visit the seasoning on the burgers was off (far too much pepper) and the fries and burgers were cold. Also, multiple employees came to the window and asked if we had already received our food (probably because we had to wait so long for two burgers and two orders of fries). It's honestly like a completely different restaurant compared to the other P Terry's. If it weren't the closest P Terry's, and if we weren't addicted, we'd probably stop going here. read more

Updated review: Same thoughts as before, but also some improvement with the fries. I still love their lemonade aaand their fries are better. Staff are always friendly so far that I've seen. And I have gone back with friends and fam who were visiting Austin, some of them are vegetarian (not vegan) and they wanted veggie burgers. The ones that had regular burgers compared them to In N Out and said it was good. So, overall, I guess it's convenient to have P. Terry's around North Austin. I still want a vegan option available so I can have a burger / sandwich, they seem to have everything else perfect. I do want to say that someone from P. Terry's did respond to me a while back and explained why the vegetarian burgers are not vegan. And also they had (have?) P. Terry's vegan patties for people who want to cook their own, from supermarkets like Whole Foods where they have Daiya cheese instead of dairy. read more
