If I am out for a 'best bang for the buck' burger, I still head over to Whataburger. However, P. Terry's has the edge on atmosphere. Sitting here on their patio, enjoying a good oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and a decent peanut butter shake, I am struck by the chill soundtrack on their sound system and the sandbox for the kids. The burgers here have been consistently above the average fast food quality, but just a bit too pricey to warrant the five stars I would like to give. If I had a discount card to knock off about $1 per visit, it might edge out one more star. But this place worth a lot when knowing the fact that it is a fast food joint, Not great, but fine. Their signature sauce is really what makes the sandwich, but the burger and the bun are just OK. I recently ordered a burger and had it delivered and the order was messed up but that may have not been the restaurant's fault, but the burger when I unwrapped it was in a pile of grease and had bacon on it (which I didn't ask for) but it was burnt to a crisp practically inedible, I thought the onions would have been grilled; they where not and a quarter of my fries where just burnt crisps and overly salted. I had initially left a not so pleasant review the first time I had this place, but the management actually reached out to me and sent me gift cards to try it again on their behalf, which is stellar customer service. This time the order was right, so there's already a fix. Food wise, P. Terrys is still kinda a mixed bag in some respects. Their burgers are a decent size, but the selection of topping is limited. While cooked well, the burgers themselves are on the dryer side, and still somewhat bland. I do like the terry's sauce. Fries are of the thin cut kind, not on the soggy side, but also somewhat bland. Lemonade is great, the breakfast potatoes are also good, much tastier than the fries. The oatmeal cookie is big and tasty, straddling the line between soft and hard, and being a great size for the price. Overall, P. Terry's definitely redeemed themselves, as they certainly did not have to send me gift cards, but it shows that they do care about their customers, even their unsatisfied ones. I respect businesses that really do pay attention to what people are saying. Food is a mixed bag, though I fed recommend trying it atleast once. Much better than the King or Clown. And customizable too! Some days I go for the double with cheese and some days I go for the chicken or veggie. You can even have any of them wrapped in lettuce and no one looks at you sideways. Sure there are other fancier local burger places, but for fast food, I'm loving local. Also, breakfast! This P. Terry's seems to have it's stuff together. Stopped by to get a quick burger, and was able to do just that (which can be a challenge at many places). Two lines for cars moved quickly, the milkshake was great, and the burger was good. I prefer In N Out, but P. Terry's is still a good burger. The fries weren't as crunchy as I like, but that generally seems to be the case at PT. A well-run joint with good burgers and shakes is nice to have. read more

Basic Angus Burger with lots of stuff (iceburg lettuce, mayonnaise dressing, tomato). Very thin burger, nice crunch, decent flavor. My wife had a chicken sandwich with nothing on it. Came with cheese, so we had to return it and get another. Worst fries I've ever had-- limp, very thin, although a generous portion. (Many places around with thicker and crispier fries.) I think maybe the best fast food joint in the area! What I had: - Cheeseburger: So yummy! The near perfect size, tasty, though the burger patty is relatively bland but at least it's not rubbery. I enjoyed the ratio of the other toppings to the beef, pickles were crunchy and not soggy tissue paper, and I liked their special sauce. Also! Totes yummy, buttery bun. Chicken Sandwich: Not the best I've had... the patty texture is too dense, reminding you of just how processed this thing is. Not bad, but skip this joint if you're looking for chicken. - Fries: These are long, slender, crispy fries that I greatly enjoyed. Best fries I've had from a fast food joint, including In-N-Out. However, they lose their crisp after about 45 min, so keep that in mind. I'll have to remember to ask for extra special sauce next time. read more

This was my first time eating here and I must say I didn't like it at all I ordered the chicken sandwich meal and it was nothing as described on the menu the meat was undercooked and and the way the sandwich was put together was just sloppy and instead of telling us that there was no sweet tea they gave us unsweetened tea when we informed them they hadn't given us sweet tea the employee gave us a dirty look and said they were out. This place is a great place to go for lunch. I got a cheeseburger,fries,a cookie,and a vanilla shake and I was pleased.The burger tasted amazing and was just the right size.The fries were a bit on the crispy side but still ok.The milkshake was rich and creamy and tasted like a real milkshake. The cookie was delicious in all the food is fantastic. The environment was nice and had no fumes.You could either sit outside or inside but I just did inside.The bathroom was surprisingly clean it looked like it belonged in a mansion.Overall this place is a great spot for eating alone or with family or friends.Next time you want lunch keep this place in mind. read more

Night crew has never messed up my order. Day crew CAN NEVER GET ANYTHING RIGHT. I get that lunch is slammed but y'all, payyyy attention. I ordered online, and yes I picked the right location and went to the right location ( I know because I double checked because I have done this kind of thing before) they tell me they don't have my order. Don't offer online ordering if your team cannot handle the ordering system. Like seriously, just make it where your day crew at this location doesn't accept online ordering. I have screenshots of 2 different confirmation methods, from the website and the email. So finally I get out of my curbside spot and go in after arguing with someone for 10 minutes. And she types my name in, and it pulls right up. Order has been ready for probably at least 5 out of the 10 minutes that I argued with someone. Maybe the system is slow? If that's the case, make it to where an online order even when marked "ASAP" takes 30 minutes to process so that your customer doesn't get there in 15 and spend 10 arguing with someone. I'm frustrated but I'm offering suggestions here. P Terry's y'all here me out. This location struggles with both drive through and online ordering at lunch time. In my experience, I have never had a good lunch time interaction with this location. read more

P Terry's we love you but please for the love of God hire someone that can manage this location. We come here pretty much every week. For about the last 6-7 times we have come this place is a wreck. We have to clean our own tables off, there is trash all over the floor and under tables, they run out of ketchup, there are no napkins, the trash cans have been overflowing and it goes on. We used to go to the MOPAC location and that was always impeccable. This one really does not hold up to the standard of the rest. The food is fine which is why we come back, however I am getting tired of eating in a pig sty. I also do t want people to look at me like I am crazy when we tell them we like this place and they say really, that place feels dirty....oh update our food just came out. I have to say P.Terry's did not disappoint they're definitely quick and my meal was fresh, needless to say they did NOT disappoint! So I love P Terry's but this location does not have the best customer service skills. Been several times and they have forgot to give me something/messed up my order every time. I don't even usually give bad reviews to any places, but when the girl at the window talked back to me today, it made me wonder if other people had issues with this location too. We did receive the gift certificates after I provided our address again. So that's something. However, the food and service are still sub-par at this location as compared to others. Our last visit the seasoning on the burgers was off (far too much pepper) and the fries and burgers were cold. Also, multiple employees came to the window and asked if we had already received our food (probably because we had to wait so long for two burgers and two orders of fries). Updated review: Same thoughts as before, but also some improvement with the fries. I still love their lemonade aaand their fries are better. Staff are always friendly so far that I've seen. And I have gone back with friends and fam who were visiting Austin, some of them are vegetarian (not vegan) and they wanted veggie burgers. The ones that had regular burgers compared them to In N Out and said it was good. So, overall, I guess it's convenient to have P. Terry's around North Austin. I still want a vegan option available so I can have a burger / sandwich, they seem to have everything else perfect. I do want to say that someone from P. Terry's did respond to me a while back and explained why the vegetarian burgers are not vegan. And also they had (have?) P. Terry's vegan patties for people who want to cook their own, from supermarkets like Whole Foods where they have Daiya cheese instead of dairy. read more
