TIP: They will ask corn or flour --- do flour. Everything is handmade, but those corn tortillas fall apart with all the sauce. Flour = durable and flavorful. First off, let me tell you, the street tacos at Oye Taquito hit sooooo hard! The cheese on top was absolute perfection, melted just right, and you could taste the love in every bite. The tacos were prepared with so much care it really felt like they were cooking just for me. The cashier, such a sweet and welcoming lady, greeted me with a smile that set the tone for the whole experience. What really sealed the deal, though, was the energy coming from the back of the truck. I could hear the cooks singing, laughing, and jamming to some great Mexican music. That vibe alone had me thinking, "Yep, this is gonna be special," and boy, did they deliver! My boyfriend and I barely made it home before absolutely demolishing everything. The tacos were packed with so much flavor I had to sneak one from my boyfriend's plate because I couldn't get enough! My only minor note is that the flauta filling could use a bit more seasoning to really bring out the flavors. But even with that, it's hard to beat the freshness, quality, and incredible taste they serve up. Overall, Oye Taquito is that perfect neighborhood spot that feels like a warm hug in taco form. BUCHE TACO: It was in chopped pieces. I thought it'd be more chewy, but it was just barely chewy. A little fatty. Pretty mild flavor. It was alright. You're not missing out on anything if you skip this. SUADERO TACO: Not very moist. Honestly, a bit dry. Mild flavor too. Some fatty bits. There's nothing worse than a dry taco lacking flavor, with no lime to help. BIRRIA TACO: I thought this would be the only safe option I chose. Nope. Mild flavor and underwhelming too. Even when dipped in the consomé, which cost an extra $3.50 because I didn't get a combo. They also didn't even ask if I wanted to get any consomé. I had to go back and buy it when I saw the taco didn't come with any. HORCHATA: Best thing I had here. Super flavorful. It tasted like there was a lot of vanilla in it though, which I thought was weird. I've never had horchata with vanilla and it didn't mention it on the menu. But at least it was good and had flavor.
