A low-key hotel that's not terribly refined but still well-run and appealing. Check-in was a breeze, with friendly staff, and our rooms were a good size (a suite) with comfy beds. Our room was split into two parts, one set up with a bed and TV, and the other serving as a seating area with a couch, TV and chair. Very nice. Fridge and microwave included and the shower was nice and hot. Free breakfast really hit the spot too -- it was freshly prepared and served hot --- and the fitness room, while basic, had all the essentials. The pool was heated and there's a nice hot tub to hang out in, and bonus points for there being a gas station right down the street and easy freeway access. The property is a bit dated but it served us well for a one night stay. read more

I spent a couple of nights at the Redding Oxford Suites recently and it was sort of mediocre. I was with my family and we had a "suite" with two king size beds. The layout was weird in that to get to the bathroom from one bedroom you had to walk through the "sitting room"into the second "bedroom". Very Inconvenient. The internal layout of the entire building was strange and inconvenient as noted by other reviewers. There is free salad bar in the evening but it was sad as was the breakfast. Some of our group enjoyed the pool and we slept ok. If necessary I would go back. read more

We stayed here while traveling back to San Jose from Portland. The neighborhood looked safe and there were lot of other businesses and fast food chains nearby . Check-in was smooth . Got a king suite room which came with a sofa bed which was nice as well were 2 adults and 2 kids. One thing I noticed that some of the room's entrance was through a covered hallway while some others weren't. Not sure why is it structured like that . We got a room which was not through covered hallway , so the moment you step out of the room , you are facing the corridor and the outdoor pool directly which I didn't like as there were just too many people in the pool and it was noisy . Even very early in the morning, there was noise of people / cleaning staff passing by the room . The lighting inside the room could be improved . I found them to be dimly lit . The breakfast buffet was good though . They had biscuits with gravy, bacon , fruits , cereal , bagels, bread , scrambled egg , coffee etc although the biscuits and gravy was served by the staff so if someone is heavy eater , they will be disappointed as you can't serve for yourself. They give you coupons which you can use towards the evening drinks in the bar and also they have a spread of snacks cum light meal in the evening hours around 5:30-7:30 , wherein they served house salads , potato salad , pasta which was wonderful and much appreciated . Nice people work here. Free happy hour with choice of wine mixed cocktail also with hors d'oeuvres included. Free breakfast with eggs, cereal, waffles, or pancakes, juices, drinks, and pastries. They have a swimming pool and a workout room. Lots of parking for big vehicles. While we were here, a lot of people who were in firefighting rigs stayed here. Bless the firefighters. Asked for a quiet room. They gave us a room in front of the pool where we woke every day to kids screaming from 8am to 10pm. Management is either deaf or non existent. Wonderful experience, The room was fresh with a clean smell . Each day the bed sheets have been changed and new towels have been stored for us. My husband and I visited Shasta lake to ski for this weekend and through Expedia I got a deal for 3 days and 2 nights at Oxford suites. We all know that Redding is scenic beautiful and organizing to stay in a right place it can be challenging. We decided to stay at Oxford last minute , By entering to the hotel , the front desk welcomed us warmly,And explained that we have 3 coupons that offers us to grab free breakfast every morning ,also Free drinks with snacks, and al la carte coffee and tea station.Breakfast will serve between 7 to 11 and snacks with free drink from 5 to 9. The breakfast buffet is clean with some assorted yummy ingredients such as omelet, sausages , boiled eggs and many more. Came here for a one night stay. Arrive a little lady. The lady that checked us in was nice. The room was nice enough and seemed clean however when we got ready to go to bed we noticed at least 4 of the pillows had a bunch of long hairs on them and some of the other pillow cases were dirty. We called the front desk and she offered us new pillows however they didn't have enough pillows to replace all the ones with issues so she said they could give us some clean pillowcases. Since that was our only option we look it however it too a very long time for them an arrive which kept us from going to sleep when we wanted. Breakfast is included with price. The breakfast was good and the employees serving breakfast are very nice. The food was good and there are quite a few options to choose from. Came here at the height of the summer. Fortunately, air conditioning was working fine. Plenty of parking. Service was fine. I enjoyed the free breakfast and the free happy hour. I spent a bunch of time in the hot tub and swimming pool. The pool starts getting shady in the summer at about 4:00 PM, which is nice because it is so hot out there in the summer. I'm so glad we decided to stay here for a wedding in Redding. Very clean and spacious suite with two comfortable queen beds and a spacious living room. Woof! Pets are welcome. We booked at this hotel for two reasons-the location and the dog friendly perks. We always travel with our floofy princess. Check in was quick and easy; the staff enthusiastically welcomed us and our dog - Plumette with friendly smiles. Furthermore-we received wine tickets for ( 2 glasses of wine): considering we are from Sonoma county-the wine selections were impressive. Our dog even received a gift bag that contained, a portable food dish, doggie bags, and a treat. Our stay also included breakfast. This location is going through a remodel. However, Despite the hotel makeover hubbub - the staff and attention to service is exceptional. The new rooms are modern, comfortable, and the furniture is perfectly situated allowing ample space to move about the around. The rooms include a Large fridge and -perk alert--- we had a microwaves. The Oxford Suites has many positives going for it. Most importantly for us is that it was very clean. The room has a fridge and microwave. Our two queen room was very spacious and had a separate section that had doors so night owls could have their own space. The morning buffet was fine, Eggs, sausage or bacon, toast, cereal and fruit were all fine. (No pancakes or waffles) We didn't do the evening reception. Our biggest complaint was the thin walls. We could hear the upstairs walking back and forth all night. Not being intentionally loud, but all we could hear was boom, boom, boom of their steps. Great place to stay, just bring earplugs if you are noise sensitive. read more

The staff was awesome, parking was plentiful, location is great and within easy distance of lots of places to eat. Also easy freeway access. The reason for the 3-star rating is convenience within the facility. For starters, the elevators are located outside of the lobby - literally outside. So when unloading a ton of luggage, you have to schlep it through the lobby, out some double doors into the weather (which was cold and rainy) and then walk to the elevator. The double doors don't even have an automatic switch on them, so I was trying to maneuver a loaded luggage cart from the parking lot through the lobby and then having to struggle to hold open the door to the outside to get to the elevator. The room I was in was not protected by hallways, so the entrance to my room and several others were exposed to the weather as well with a slippery walkway as the rain easily blew onto the floors. My understanding is these exposed rooms are the dog friendly rooms. But from the third floor, having to walk down a wet hallway back to the elevator and go down to the first floor and out through the lobby - this wasn't convenient at all. Then the room itself was clean and okay. The downside is the layout - it's a "suite" so upon entering, you walk into a "living room" that has a TV and couch/sofa bed and desk. But no heating or air conditioning. So you walk down this elongated room to the bedroom which has the heating/cooling unit. I would think to heat the living room you'd have to have the bedroom at 80 degrees to get heat down to the far end. Or same with the air conditioning - can't imagine in the 100-degree heat trying to cool down the living room area. And then my pet peeve - the bathroom. The sink and bright mirror are directly at the foot of the bed. So if you are traveling with someone else, there is no way to get up and not turn lights on in their face or do anything requiring a sink without waking them up. The toilet and shower are set off in what appears to be the size of a closet. At least you can close the door. But having the sink out in the open is ridiculous. Traveling alone, okay, not an issue. But I sure wouldn't stay here with a partner. So again, it's not a bad place and this isn't a "bad" review. But after all the driving I had done in the week prior, to have this my last hotel before returning home to Oregon, I didn't appreciate the inconvenience of the entire facility. read more

Really enjoyed this stay here. Very clean, good daily breakfast and evening snack with a drink. Parking is plenty. The room is fantastic, you can close the sliding doors and give privacy to those using the pull out bed in the living room area, with TV. There are 2 televisions, bed was very comfortable and love tubless showers. Nice size and 6ft deep pool and they have a working spa. Definitely a nice hotel. Upstairs noise complaint! My husband is a retired fire captain for Calfire, we have been staying at this hotel for over 20 years while he's been on active duty fighting fires, in northern California! Now that he's retired, our family owned business, has always been involved with drag racing at Redding Raceway here in Redding! So now we like to come stay here at the Oxford suites while my husbands Family races during the weekend! I recently completed my cancer treatment, and I'm cancer free, and wanted to finally be able to join the family, so we booked our stay with Oxford suites! The last time we stayed here during the summer, had a slight hiccup with hotel made service, and the front desk because I had asked for a late checkout and the front desk girl never put it into the computer so I had a housekeeper walking into my room as I was getting out of the shower!!! Totally embarrassing! And now this stay, September 5,6, 7th, 2025, we had somebody above us at night on Friday the 5th, stomping, jumping, running, clanging chairs, shaking the roof to our room, scaring my service dog, thinking that there was a earthquake, from 8:30pm-10:30pm! I kindly called the front desk, of course met with rudeness, and very passive! Like it was no big deal, but she said she would call up there to the room directly above us! The next day when I went down to the desk to speak with them MORE about, b/c after the upstairs neighbors got the phone call that must've made them upset, that they couldn't rudely just disturbed the whole piece of the as a guest as they please, any hour, they pleased! Because at 6:30 in the morning, it all started up again, and total retaliation!!!!! so when I talk to the front desk, they were very passive about it, nonchalant about it, said that they called up there and that the other guest said they simply just went to the bathroom...UMMMMMM NO!! So, the night of Saturday the 6th, when this person rolled into their room, it was 1000 times worse!! Totally, and the deliberately being passive aggressive with the stomping, with the running!! For two hours, my husband and I were woken up at 9:30, and it didn't stop until 11:30pm!!!! This person had the HUGEST tantrum above us! Letting us know that they weren't pleased by us rightfully being made uncomfortable in our own room, that my husband works hard for that my husband pays for, woken up out of a dead sleep on back to back days!! Scaring my dog so bad she was shaking and curled up in a fetal position, because our roof was literally shaking and cracking and thundering and thumping!!! I thought why should I call? Nothing gets done, and if I do call again, what kind of EVEN WORSE retaliation are we going to face? So, after breakfast on Sunday, I spoke with the same woman at the front desk (Cheri) who knew what had been going on with the noise, disturbance and the retaliation, asking for a manager she informed me that there's no manager on Sundays!!! NO MANAGER!???? What!??? Ummm, shouldn't a hotel always be stocked with a manager to help run the facility to help with any problems!??? We are highly disappointed in our stay, highly disappointed in that dismissive attitude of the front desk employees! My poor husband and I are EXHAUSTED, because we were so upset when the noise finally stopped at 11:30 PM. We couldn't go back to sleep!!! And then we had to deal with our dog who was clearly shaken up! I asked the front desk employee for the privacy printout of the hotel, I ask her what the quiet hours were, she couldn't give me any information. She acted like she didn't know anything!! But she's an employee here at the hotel??????? don't you have training from Oxford suites????? Complete and utterly disappointed!! Totally disgusted by the unprofessionalism at the hotel!! read more

I've stayed at Oxford Suites at a different location (Rohnert Park) and figured their Redding location would be fairly similar. They recently went through a remodel so all the rooms are new and modern. Free parking and pet friendly. They even gave us a portable dog bowl (which is included in the pet fee). They offer a free hot breakfast which was actually decent. They also do a happy hour in the bar area where you can get a complimentary alcoholic beverage and some snacks. Rooms are comfortable. Shower design is a bit odd, the right side is only door that opens so you either have to reach in and get wet turning it on ... or get in and get blasted with cold water turning it on. Or room door did not lock, but just use the top stopper that prevents the door for open all the way. They offer a social hour Monday-Saturday where you receive a free drink at the bar. They have light munchies for you Veggies and Dip, Friday had Mac Salad and Saturday a tomato bisque. It is nice that they actually have an open kitchen and you can see them cooking food - not all microwaved. Breakfast is included and has decent offerings. Saturday was eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage also hard boiled eggs. Sunday was biscuits & gravy, eggs, and fresh strawberries. They also have the normal items bagels, mini muffins, toast, English muffins, instant oatmeal, and cereal. Of course coffee, orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice and flavored water. There is ice machines on every floor and a station in the bar/breakfast are with filtered water to refill you water bottles. The pool are is nice, and a must on the hot Redding days, but it does get very crowded. Unfortunately the hot tub was down Friday night and pool was very crowded Saturday so we didn't get a chance to enjoy it. All the staff is very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. I was able to get an early check in since was arrive early Friday around 11am and it's a reasonable $15 to check in early if they have the availability. Check in and check out is very easy. My husband has stayed here a number of times with work, was my first visit but we will definitely be back. They are also pet friendly which is nice so we can take our fur baby with us next time. read more

The physical hotel seems nice at first but this entire stay was frustrating and exhausting. The front staff is not unfriendly but they certainly aren't friendly either. a lot of standing around talking to each other even with guests waiting. Our first room was on the bottom floor and absolutely REEKED of bleach and cleaner. It was so bad my nostrils were on fire. With two small kids I immediately was concerned and tried to open the window but it stuck. We were right beside the pool too but the staff got the window open but it was clearly broken. Saying this. The staff member agreed the room smelled but tried to say it was supposed to smell 'clean'.I was exhausted and the kids were settled so we just propped the door open and left the window open and after a few hours the smell was better. However, when we sat down to eat we noticed the entire back of the sofa reeked of urine. I went straight to the desk to ask for a new room after that. The new room had ZERO bleach smell and was much cleaner even though it was basically the same room. Saying that, I'm extremely off-put that they tried to convince us the smell was fine and normal. It clearly wasn't. The entire bottom hallway smelled too. Given the lack of care and response for what was obviously a serious issue, I won't be staying here again and I highly recommend you don't either. For nearly 200$ there are better choices. I chose this hotel specifically because of the reviews. However, other reviews about how loud it is are correct too. Things happen but trying to convince people a room is fine when it's not is very unprofessional. If a room needs to be bleached that seriously you may give it time to air out before putting a family in it. Appetizer hour and the comfy beds were the positives. It was also generally pretty clean. There was a cockroach in our bathroom on arrival. Worst part of the hotel however was the noise. We are not sure if our room was under a hallway or if the ceilings are just paper thin, but there was constant noise of people walking very loudly above us until 11pm and starting at 5 am. We were staying here on a road trip so the fact that we were unable to get a good sleep defeats the purpose of getting a hotel in the first place. read more

I did NOT feel SAFE enough to stay here even though I had a reservation that I couldn't cancel. My child and I arrived at 8:30 PM. There was a group of people who looked like they were experiencing homelessness behind the dumpster of the boarded-up restaurant directly next to the hotel. There was also another group of people who looked to be experiencing homelessness in the vacant lot on the other side of the hotel. I didn't even feel safe enough to get out of my car. I drove to another area, called the hotel and asked to cancel my reservation. The supervisor wouldn't allow it because it was less than 24 hours, but I felt so unsafe that I decided to eat the money and book another room somewhere else. My advice would be to skip the hotels in downtown Redding. Drive 10 miles to the north end of the town and stay at the new hotels in the industrial complex. I stayed at a Home2Suites that looked like it was brand new and seemed very safe. I wanted to make sure to leave this review because I never would have booked this hotel had I seen information like this in a review. read more

*late review* Our family decided on a whim to take a staycation in this area. We booked this property with the expectation that it would be on the same level as another Oxford property, which is why we chose to stay here. However, we were disappointed to see that the property was undergoing renovations. For example, the lobby & breakfast area are currently closed and were relocated to on site meeting rooms. We were happy to have a little something in our tummies in the morning, but it would have been nice to have known about the modified breakfast provisions in advance. Our room is clean, but can use an update. The leather sitting chair has seen better days, the coffee table has its wear & tear, the tv stand/microwave & fridge nook can be changed as well. The pull out sofa had food remnants in the cracks. Everyone that we were in contact with was very nice and we received the extra towels that I asked for. THANK YOU Parking is very easy to find and the location is perfect. Centralized to everywhere you want to go in the area. It would have been nice to have known about these changes/updates in advance via our Confirmation email & Welcoming email in advance of our stay. Hair, hair everywhere. First room with 2 beds. Pulled back the covers and there was hair on the sheets. The drinking glasses were also dirty. Moved to the room next door. Pulled back the covers on the 2 beds and both had hair on the sheets. 3 out of 4 beds have hair in the sheets TRULY DISGUSTING!!!! UPDATE: Our other family member that stayed in a separate room had a stain on one of the sheets. They moved to the other bed. So out of 6 beds 4 had something wrong with them. The front desk was helpful but now it is 1am and we are getting up early. If purchased through Expedia they put you in the older rooms that aren't renovated and do have an odd smell so if you do want cleaner rooms don't use Expedia. We stayed in the King suite sleeper sofa room. It was advertised as 398 sq ft by Expedia's website and since we felt the room was so small we retrieved our measuring tape from the car and measured for a total of 268 sq ft. Including the bathroom. Nothing worse then Being lied too. No shampoo or soap in the dispensers in the shower either. Anyhow you can save about $40 and stay in a multitude of other hotels on this same street. read more

I had breakfast in a quiet corner of the dinning area this morning. Staff were a pleasure to observe this morning. Greeting the guests exchanging pleasantries and the food was perfect. Scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage, bacon, fresh cut fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, toast, English muffins, bagels, coffee, and four different juices. I watched Linda working cleaning dishes and tables come out to greet an elderly woman and man who she appeared to have known for a while. When a woman walked in with a dog and was notified by the hotel staff that she was not allowed to have the dog in the dining area Linda offered to make her a plate and brought it out to her in the seating area by the pool. Margarita was working the grill cooking everything perfect and even some to order, eggs over easy for the elderly couple Linda had previously greeted. It was a delight to watch this team work together and hope to see them on future trips. These hard working ladies need a raise! I will gladly return and enjoy breakfast and the great service anytime work brings me in this direction. read more

Only 1 AC unit for the suite with the door between sitting room and bedroom. No vent in the bedroom so it really can't be used as 2 separate rooms.
