First time in Redding; first time in over a year to reunite the family since the CoVid pandemic…read more Out of all the RV parks in the area we looked at, we're glad we went with Mountain Gate. First off, our experience with customer service over the phone was always pleasant. They answered our questions, found us the accommodations we needed (we requested an RV spot and cabin) and made the necessary adjustments. Bridget and Patty were awesome! Next, we loved the location: right off the interstate and easy to find. Chevron and Shell, among others are just outside. It's also located next door to the Forest Ranger Station. From here, plenty sights in Shasta and Redding are an easy drive. Third, this RV park is well-maintained and carefully kept in order. It is definitely small compared to many other RV resorts: their sites are tight, they've no individual firepits, grill or camp rings, and there are no other fancy amentities (which is just right for these times of social-distance protocols.) The shared showers and toilets are cleaned daily and garbage bins are rarely overflowing. Some sites have a patch of grass, while others have gravel. Some have sturdy plastic picnic tables; others have wooden ones. All sites have shade from mature trees; which is also great for some nature sounds by the birds as well. There is a nice pet enclosure for the dogs to play and romp around leash-free. There are only 2 cottages and we're so glad we lucked out on one of them for the Memorial Day Weekend. One of my aunts is semi-disabled so it's hard for her to camp out in the heat. The cottages are a perfect complement for a family like ours. All in all, we were so pleased with our stay over the Memorial Day Weekend. The owners and staff are great--very hospitable and respectful. They enforce certain rules and guidances inside the park but it works for a peaceful, enjoyable stay for every camper. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area!

The sites are clearly marked which made navigating very easy. The only drawback is that the sites are close to one another so your neighbors are very close and some freeway noise. Knowing Redding, when we pulled up to the area I thought no way...this can't be the recommended place. BUT once we pulled in it's like you are in another area. The spaces are clean, the people are friendly, the trees are mature. We've stayed there twice now in the last year and it's one of our favorites.

They calmly work with you. If you have a vehicle you'll be able to travel nearby, however if you walk as we do being outside near this park at dark is unwise. The laundry is very clean and relatively low cost. The park has a covered and uncovered picnic area behind the laundry next to the wading pool. They lack a shower/bathroom house. They have a dog park. You can recycle plastic bottles and cans in the laundry room.

We didn't use the laundry or restrooms because it had full hookup, so I can't rate them on this. They do have a dog area, but we didn't use it either. The only drawback I found was there was no paper towels in the men's bathroom. There's a community center that has a fitness center, that leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not sure how much use it gets, but a lot of the equipment wasn't functional. There's a nice pool. Our spot was 100 feet from the Sacramento river. The only drawback to having spots along the river is that there is a Woodmill directly across the river. It is a little noisy, but not much worse than being close to a highway I suppose. Didn't lose any sleep over it. I would definitely come back here.

My son, his cat, my two dogs, and I moved into this park at the end of September 2024…read more We love it here! Sometimes the water issue can be frustrating, but it's being fixed. The park was built in the 80's with only one shutoff valve, which means when there is an issue, the whole park gets shut off. The maintenance team is working on installing more in the park as time allows. We have had some nasty storms that have required some cleanup. We usually keep about two gallons of water on hand for watering the furbabies, drinking, flushing, and washing hands. (My old park would have water shutoffs all the time, with no concrete plans to update the 1950's infrastructure.) The things we love the most about being here are how quiet it is, especially since we're at the end of our road, the trails that my dogs love, and the critters we come across on walks such as tree squirrels, black butterflies that are everywhere right now, birds, sometimes I even hear a Great Horned Owl in the trees overhead in the wee hours of the morning. (In perimenopause, awake when I don't want to be is a thing that happens due to that lol.) We have even gotten courtesy texts about bringing in awnings when the wind is about to pick up. The full bathrooms are a lifesaver when there are camper plumbing issues, the pool is an even bigger lifesaver in the hot months, and the full kitchen in the clubhouse has allowed me to bake a turkey two Thanksgivings in a row now. 99% of the people who live here are very friendly and happy to be here. Of course there's always at least one or two people who will complain about everything. The PG&E rates for full-timers can be hard, as they are for everyone on PG&E, but corporate is great about reviewing and approving requests for shades and things that can be installed to help mitigate the power usage in hot months. I just ordered one two days ago that I will have installed on my roof, that my old park rejected. Ruthie, the property manager, is very knowledgeable and helpful when I have questions. I can't say enough about how much we love it here.

They also said we took too long, but we didn't know there was a time limit while dumping. While we were cleaning up, her brother drove over and said these exact words, "get the f-- in your truck and get the f-- out of here. I'm not nice like my sister." We would not recommend coming here, as the managers are not friendly at all.

We booked same-day by phone, and received a confirmation email with instructions for after-hours self-checkin. Upon arrival, we picked up a personalized envelope containing a park map and rules, amenities key card, and directions to the assigned spot for our 40' RV. Lovely grounds with paved roads, concrete parking pads, and a landscaped picnic area for each site. If clean and spacious bathrooms matter to you, you'll love the ones here! We didn't stay to use the other resort amenities, though the pool area, social house and shaded path benches looked inviting. Now if you are gonna call yourselves Premier and Resort you definitely need to upgrade your cable and Wi-Fi. Though we did get many channels with our antenna. We also had good Verizon cell service so I didn't use the Wi-Fi. We will stay here again during a time when it's not 110 degrees.

Shuttle came picked us up and I checked in. Then was shuttled back to the spot. ( that's when the box was opened / unlocked, to access the power). Spots are clean and they have full hook ups.
