This appears to be a new RV park, tucked back in the far corner of the Win River Casino parking lot. The overnight rate for a pull through spot with full hook ups is very reasonable at $24.
Upon pulling in this afternoon, the "park" appeared to be pretty basic but clean. However, once night came, it becomes apparent that this is not a place you want to stay if you plan on sleeping.
#1: It would have been nice had management forewarned that a train goes through every few hours. Also, being on the edge of a parking lot, we were woken up regularly all night long by loud, intoxicated people heading to their cars as well as multiple car alarms.
#2: The lighting is still the bright-as-day security lighting you would expect to see in a PARKING LOT. Hello? You are now selling these spaces for overnight RV camping. The lighting is so bright, we didn't realize the sun went down!
#3: There is no designated quiet time. Although you think that most people who camp would know that common practice (not to mention common courtesy) demands that noise be kept down after 10pm. While we did not hear or see a security guard while people were sitting outside drinking and being generally obnoxious well past midnight, an entire crew of them showed up at 2am to discuss the dilemma of the camper who arrived late, circled his truck and trailer around the park several times, then proceeded to complain very loudly that he had requested space 2 when he made his reservation and someone else had parked there leaving only space 3 available for him to park in (all the spaces are the same!!!) They went as far as knocking on the door and waking up the people in space 2 to ask them why they parked there. Who cares? It's 2 o'clock in the morning!! After much loud discussion, it was decided that the late comer would just park in space 3 for the night. The topper was the security guard returning at 2:30am, driving a cart that sounded like a lawnmower, knocked on the door of the poor people in space 2 to let them know he had gotten everything settled for the night and was sorry to bother them. How do I know this?? He made absolutely no attempt to keep his voice down or be quiet in any way. As an extra special treat, he decided to make a security check in his lawnmower/scooter on his way out.
It's now 3am and I'm listening to the 5th car alarm of the evening, someone revving the engine of their car, two people hollering their good nights to each other across the parking lot and a group talking about how close they came to hitting a jackpot. Oh wait - is that a generator starting up?
We have stayed at roadside rest stops quieter than this place. I think tomorrow night we will look for a nice, quiet Walmart parking lot. read more
