Really nice RV Park with level, decent sized sites. The park is clean and well maintained. There is a small store where you can purchase knickknacks and supplies. There is propane for sale on site. Walking trails towards the back of the park are available. The Wi-Fi works really well if that's a necessity for you you'll be pleased. The owners of the park are accommodating and personable. This is a pet friendly, family friendly RV park and we recommend it.

They had a little trail area that my dogs loved walking and smelling

We enjoyed our stay here. We tried calling earlier in the day but no one answered so we didn't have reservations but came in after hours and they had envelopes for us to choose from. We got a spot and were there for a bit and then we ended up getting a monthly spot! Loved our time there, close enough to all the stores and fun destinations in town. My dogs liked the dog park and trail. I would go back, it was nice. Definitely not a resort though so keep that in mind. Also enjoyed the clean bathrooms and laundry room.

I came here with my husband and two dogs in early June. We were in Redding visiting friends. I chose this park because of the high rating. After experiencing this place, I'm a bit surprised it's a 4.5 star. There is nothing special about this place that would earn an almost perfect score. It's just ok. Bathrooms were clean. There was a pool and a jacuzzi. Almost all sites had a small patch of gravel and a small patch of grass. On the welcome map they tell you not to put mats on the grass, the sprinklers come on every night and not to let your dogs relieve themselves in any area but the designated dog area. This part bothered me because the designated dog area was foxtail city. To get to the dog area was also filled with foxtails and stickers of all types. As far as sprinklers go, it was raining and they didn't turn them off. I don't think they turn the sprinklers on in the dog area. I did feel safe there. Also, they are still requiring masks in the office. Be sure you have one when you check in.

This place was beyond relaxing. Super quiet and peaceful . The freeway is next to you but you can barely hear it. We were given space 103 and able to check in early. All our paperwork was there waiting since you have no contact with the office due to Covid. The amenities are closed also but it was fine since we had full hookups. This place is very clean! You will not find trash anywhere. The camp host came around on his cart and checked everything out daily to make sure everything was clean (garbage cans) and orderly . I would recommend this place and will be returning. We really enjoyed our space for the fact we had some grass and it was very level. It was a great base camp to safely leave our trailer and venture out. I wish we could of had one more day, I didn't want to leave.

This was our second time camping at this park and it is a great stop over for us when heading to Oregon. The sites are clean and enjoyable. I didn't use the restrooms or the showers, but they were open this time for us. Some sites run along a hill, so not all sites have a nice flat area to sit out on. But love the mountain trees and environment. We stayed in site 26 this time. This will continue to be our destination when heading to Oregon.

THE PARK. Fawndale Oaks RV Park is a lovely country park, up against mountains to the south and…read moreeast, nestled in a valley of gorgeous trees at the end of Fawndale Road. If you want to be removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet not too far removed, this is the park for you--residing about 10 miles north of Redding off the 5 Freeway. Adding to the feel of country are deer, wild turkeys, foxes, peacocks and pea hens, owls, other birds, and more. Today I saw a herd of wild turkeys coming into the park to munch on leaves and such and a lovely young buck meandering down a park road. The other day looking out a window in my trailer, I delighted in watching 2 does, each with 2 fawns, and a buck quietly passing the evening as they munched on a meal of greens. In addition to the wildlife, there are friendly pets in the park, like dogs and cats. A frequent, gentle, evening breeze coming from the southeast cools the park in warmer weather, which can be 5+ degrees cooler than the lower city of Redding. SURROUNDING ACTIVITIES. A quick jaunt up the 5 freeway takes you to Lake Shasta offering many Wonderland activities--like boating, fishing, water-skiing, swimming, tubing, wakeboarding, camping, hiking, hunting, and mountain biking. In addition to the lake area, Redding and the nearby City of Shasta Lake offer a variety of fun, interesting activities throughout the year. There is much to do, or you can just enjoy a quiet stay in the park. PARK MANAGEMENT. I value management that operates in exceptional professionalism, integrity and commitment to their customers--I have found that very true of the park managers, Shannon and Cary. They excel at setting up their park guests for success. I had no experience living in a camper trailer before coming to Fawndale Oaks RV Park. From before I arrived at their park to my being a month-to-month guest, they have provided me with the information and set up and ongoing support I needed to succeed at camper living. They also foster a community of respect and thoughtful living among the guests in their park and provide park security that gives one a feeling of safety in both the days and nights. AN ENJOYABLE STAY. Whether you are passing through Redding, visiting for a short time, or need a month-to-month place for your RV or camper trailer, you (adults and children alike) will enjoy the country-living atmosphere and friendly community of Fawndale Oaks RV Park. If you are an outdoor type, this rustic, country park is for you. I see people picnicking outside their trailers in the cool of the evening under the trees as I smell the barbeques making delightful food for them to enjoy. I see people walking down the park roads soaking in the country ambience and shade of the trees. A full-service park with some pull-through spaces and spaces surrounded by trees, you, I know, will enjoy your stay at this park. Shannon and Cary, two of the most delightful people, will welcome you.

He told me "no your not, get out" . Keep in mind several campgrounds in the area are starting to look like meth villages with crappy rigs that the next time they will be moving they will be crushed in a dumpster. This one looked just above that level. We wound up at Boulder Creek right down the road with a nice tree lined spot, neighbors with nice rigs and 50 amp service. If a nice quiet place with no crabby older gentleman is on your bucket list, avoid Fawndale Oaks. Back in March we booked a three-day stay at Lakeshore Resort in Lakehead from June 11-14 to…read morecelebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. We frequent Shasta Lake and the Lakehead area, so we're familiar with the region and understand that many businesses are heavily dependent on the seasonal tourism industry. We chose Lakeshore Resort because of the amenities advertised on their website, including the pool, bar, restaurant, store, upgraded cabins, proximity to the lake and boat launch, and the option to rent an RV space next to our cabin to keep our boat. This setup was highly recommended and seemed perfect for our anniversary getaway. When we arrived on Thursday, the managers had everything ready for us and were very pleasant and welcoming. Before I continue, I want to say that my husband and I are not overly picky travelers. We don't expect luxury accommodations. However, when we entered Cabin #10, it was nothing like the photos shown online. We had paid for one of the upgraded cabins and were shocked by its condition. The cabin was extremely dated and in significant disrepair. The ceiling was falling down and had a hole in it that appeared to be plugged with toilet paper. The floors were uneven throughout, with multiple flooring types connected by jagged transitions and no transition strips. The ceiling fan wobbled so severely that it looked as though it might fall. The pantry and stove shown in the online photos were not present. The walls and ceilings had patches of mismatched white paint throughout. The shower did not drain properly because the floor sloped away from the drain, and the water temperature fluctuated between scalding hot and ice cold. Most of the electrical outlets were unusable because they had been painted over. The bed sagged in the middle, and the breakfast bar felt unstable, as though it could collapse if leaned on. At that point, all we could do was laugh and decide to go to the restaurant while we figured out what we wanted to do. On the way there, we noticed signs posted on the pool fence stating that the pool was closed for repairs. Once inside the restaurant, the hostess immediately informed us that the grill was down and only cold food items were available. We were happy to see our favorite bartender, Royce from Basshole, behind the bar, which ended up being the highlight of our trip. We enjoyed some cocktails and cold food, which was actually excellent. After dinner, we spoke with the manager and explained our concerns regarding the closed pool, the restaurant limitations, and the condition of the cabin. She was very apologetic and accommodating. She mentioned that she had not been aware the grill was down. We understand that these issues were largely beyond the control of the on-site management and appeared to be the result of decisions made by the new ownership. She immediately refunded the RV space we had rented for our boat. We decided to give the resort another chance and stay one night. We were told the grill would likely be operational the following day and that the pool might be repaired. With temperatures forecast to reach 102 degrees, both amenities were important factors in our decision to stay. Unfortunately, we got very little sleep. The ceiling fan wobbled and rattled throughout the night, and the wall-mounted air conditioner was extremely loud and had a musty odor. The cabin wasn't necessarily dirty--it was simply very old, stale, and poorly maintained. The overall condition made us uncomfortable. The next morning, we packed our belongings, returned to the office, checked out early, and requested a refund. Once again, the management team was professional, understanding, and accommodating, and they refunded our stay without issue. I want to emphasize that the managers handled the situation as well as they possibly could. Our disappointment lies with the condition of the property and the apparent lack of investment by the new ownership. We work hard for our money and simply could not justify spending approximately $200 per night for accommodations in that condition, especially for a special occasion like our 24th wedding anniversary. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend staying at Lakeshore Resort in its current state. Until significant improvements are made to the cabins and advertised amenities are restored and operational, prospective guests should carefully consider whether the resort offers the value they expect for the price. Just to be clear, we were not refunded for our entire stay. We were charged for one night in a run-down, dilapidated cabin that looked nothing like what was depicted on the website. Your statement that we were "fully refunded" is simply not accurate. Additionally, we were never given a discounted rate, despite your claim that we received one. We paid the full advertised price when we booked our stay.

My family always got the same site (A-51) so for nostalgia I had to book that site as well. I could have sworn when I was a kid there were wooden bear boxes, but they no longer exist (odd because I remember seeing a bear as a kid, and the grounds crew guy also mentioned bears coming through the camp ground) but that was no problem for us since we have a truck camper and keep all items locked inside. Our fire pit was a little run down, it was an old square brick type, and the bricks were crumbling off.. a little bit of mortar and a few replacement bricks and it would be perfect though. The pool area was just as I remembered from being a kid. The snack bar was great (yay for huge ice creams). The bathroom on the tent side of the grounds could definitely use some attention, one stall door has issues closing, the shower leaks into the toilet area during high usage, and one of the toilet paper dispensers won't remain secured on the wall. We had a good over all experience. The kids (6&9) loved playing in the pool and at the playground all day. We definitely plan to come back. Hopefully a few maintenance fixes for the bathroom areas happen, but all in all it was awesome to relive some of my childhood with my own kids.

Front office staff were all very nice Saydra, Ricky & Whitney. All friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. There's also a campground store & grill. Grill food was fresh & bomb. Store part was great they carried a variety of things; ice, sunblock, water toys, camp lights, wagon, & so much more. They even have cute souvenir clothing, shirts, tanks, long sleeves, sweaters, hoodies, sun hats, sunglasses. The deck has great benches with umbrellas for shade with a great view of the lake.
