The park is like brand new with a huge pool. Excellent spaces with a dog kennel that includes a bbq, comfy chairs and great shady spot for the dogs . Everything works including the washers and dryers. The hot tub too! A little freeway noise but what rv park doesn't have freeway noise. read more

We are used to KOAs often being in noisy spots but this one might take the cake (besides the one that was literally next to an active train track). I5 is the constant source of very loud traffic noise, and I think being on the river might amplify it. That said, we were tent camping. Had a designated gravel spot to place the tent. The gravel was all in our sandals and our feet were very dusty after the tent was set up. Not ideal. But there was electricity to charge our vehicle overnight. I might say that was a nice perk but this place isn't cheap compared to other KOAs we've been to. If you can swing it, I recommend the Mount Shasta KOA before this one. (Update: since the I-5 traffic was constant it wasn't a real issue sleeping. There was a train nearby which also wasn't an issue since traffic was so loud you couldn't hear anything.) (2nd update: took the tent down and dog poop in the sand underneath. We got in at dusk so wasn't able to see much last night. At closer look this morning, the tent sites are clearly not given any attention. Lots of trash, cigarette buttes, poop even though there is a trash can 30 feet away. Boo to the trashy campers but also to the management for not caring about tent sites. This place looks fairly new but at the ridiculously steep price of $65/night for a gravel tent site (and there's grass at the end of tent row that we're not allowed to use), this is completely unacceptable. I reduced my 3 star rating to 2 stars. Since the store doesn't open until 9, I'm also guessing they don't offer coffee or hot water. The woman on the phone yesterday helping with our reservation while we were driving also seemed like she just wanted to get off the phone. nice paved pull throughs for large RV's, trees and grassy camp sites. HOWEVER, mostly dead and dry. the guy insisted we had to be in a spot that was completely trashy looking compared to many of the other open sites. Our tree was cut off at the trunk and the grass was dead and overgrown with weeds and thorny plants. Horrible for the kids and ugly. Couldn't walk through the camp site or sit at the picnic table. Very upsetting and disappointing as we stay at many KOAs and I've never seen this kind of low standard and service. Poor. You will hear freeway and train horns blowing early morning and night staying here, FYI. Not at all like your typical KOA, no kid amenities and no park. Just a pool. When you consider the amount of thievery at night and high prices at this place, I'm sad to say NOT worth it at all. Better off camping in a wal-mart parking lot. read more

Wow... for a "Journey" level KOA this place was awesome! Compared to many of the "Journey" sites I've stayed at Red Bluff would easily qualify as a "Holiday". Beautiful grounds (could use some more trees...), spacious concrete sites, and an amazing pool/hot tub complex! The folks in the office were friendly and efficient. Easy after hours check-in but very expensive! So many spots available but half of them have dead or no grass. Seems like they don't water often-which is crazy given the cost we had to pay! This shouldn't be more than 60-65$ but it was $85! I can put up with a lot of stuff but not when I am paying a premium. read more

Visited during the winter so everything was nicely spread out as they put effort to do an every other space. When busy the spots are pretty close. The staff is great however the first night our power was not working so we had to use the next space over power. They did fix it the next day but did not do anything about the inconvenience in the middle of the night. read more

We sent a customer of ours that was driving a Prevost Bus with a stacker trailer and he was inquiring about a pull through site for a month. They told him that the cost for a month was $1,100 and he said he would pay that, then they said.... But it will be $1,500 for you. Our friend said... I would gladly pay the $1,100 and they said... No, you will pay $1,500. So our friend said "Revenue or no Revenue" and left. Wow they are basically saying since they are driving an expensive rig, that the price went up for them. THEY HAVE TAKEN A GREAT RV PARK CALLED "THE DURANGO" AND TURNED IT INTO QUITE THE LOSER PARK. Very nice park / well kept. Beautiful pool / clubhouse and fire pit area . Plenty of activities. We were in our assigned spot but then asked to be moved to something shadier - which happens to be against the river . That was a great move . It was a bit pricey - and surprisingly the office closed at 7 on a weekend - which seems early for a weekend. We asked for a nearby Italian restaurant- and they recommended Luigi's- which we loved! And they give a discount for KOA guests. Would absolutely recommend this one. read more

Have stayed here 2 times while traveling from Wa state to San Diego Each trip the space was booked at least a week in advance 1st time in Jan - arrive to be told the Hot tub is not working Arrived today to be told the Pool is closed. Nice- it's 85 degrees out A business that was truly interested in customer service would have made an effort to contact everyone with a reservation, and let them know they would not be getting what they paid for!! Nice campground with some good sites that back up to the water. Customer service is hugely lacking. Two large laundry facilities. One facility had one working laundry machine all the others were out of order. The other one had three working machines all the rest were out of order. When I went into talk to the lady in the office, she said they're working on it and couldn't have cared less. Not at all the customer service I would expect. Very disappointed. read more

I have visited this location several times from when it was a Durango and now KOA. It is such a fabulous location when you are driving to and from Oregon. Thanks to the staff for giving me a quiet spot to rest and recharge. When I am there, I love to see the kids riding bikes, teens, playing basketball and adult walking dogs. This location seems to fit the bill for mini on adventures or just a local staycation. read more

We stayed here for Thanksgiving with 2 other families. The first night, each of our friends had a bike stolen. One was locked, one was not. The thieves cut the lock and off they went. The next night we double locked our three bikes. One lock was to our trailer and the other lock was used to lock the frames together of the 2 expensive bikes. We had our three burner stove in front of them too. Woke up at 6am and checked and the thieves had moved the stove and cut the lock to the trailer. They stole the two expensive bikes. Three other families had bikes stolen the same night. The manager saw them wheeling the bikes out the front gate to waiting trucks and called police. Thieves were gone before they arrived. A neighboring business has video as well so hoping something comes of it. This is a known problem by management at the park but there is no night security, no warnings, etc. 4 families filed police reports today. On a side note, this property was better taken care of when it was Durango RV park. The grass is dying and full of weeds. Dogs are covered in burrs. We will not be back. read more

Nothing like the photos. Most of the grass is dead or just replaced with dying weeds. While I was in the laundry room an employee came in with cleaning supplies but saw me & left both me & the thick layer of dead gnats on every surface. Very disappointing. We won't return. read more

First of all I would rather post great 5 star reviews. I'm posting this less than awesome review to save others from experiencing what we did last weekend. You should read the Yelp, Trip Advisor and Google reviews about the crime at the campground. Which is sad as it it will eventually possibly be the demise of the Campground. This is the location that we've done our annual Friendsgiving trip for a group of us for a few years. It's a great campground, well maintained, etc...UNTIL...... When people start coming in and stealing your stuff... it doesn't become desirable at all. Last weekend we had a Blackstone stolen. Blackstone's are not super light so it was probably someone with a vehicle. Coming in at night... hummm.. so it sounds like they have a gate code. This campground also backs up to the river and there is a large homeless encampment. Apparently they've been having these issues for years and have actually caught the thieves on video at night leaving with their customers possessions. BUT they refuse to do anything else about it. If they can see the next morning people stealing stuff on video , don't you think they'd hire night security?? They just want to take the "cheap" way out and not worry about it because if your stuff gets stolen they wont do anything about it but take a useless "report". We also witnessed vehicles (not camping type) driving around the campground very slowly during the day and leaving ... We're speculating here but assuming that they may be casing the joint as the gates are wide open during the day. They do tell you sometimes about the crime. SOMETIMES.... but unless you want to set up camp daily and take it down at night its a pain.. and locking stuff up doesn't help either accordingly to the manager and the other reviewer. Unfortunately at $100 a night and we have 3-5 sites a year for 3-4 nights each time that's very pricey to not be safe and secure. read more

We decided after a long day of driving that we needed to stop instead of pushing the final 4 hours home, so we stopped at this new KOA. From what I could tell, this campground has existed for a while as Durango RV Resort, but recently became a KOA. We find KOA's reliable and clean, so we pulled in at about 6pm and they said they had space for us. This place was fantastic for an overnight. First, it's gated, so you feel very safe at night, although, Red Bluff is not an unsafe place, so it's just extra security. Next, the sites all have really nice grass, picnic tables and the sites are paved level. We walked the pup after dinner and were really impressed with the pool and common areas. While we were too tired to use it, the pool and hot tub were very inviting. I would highly recommend this KOA for a stop over if you are heading up or down HWY 5. While Red Bluff is tiny, they do have a nice little restaurant called Green Barn Whiskey Kitchen. read more

At completion of check in, the staff alerts you to secure all your belongings, especially bikes, E-bikes, and scooters. They alert you to the homeless camp along the river, and the theft within the park that comes from it. It is sad that instead of protecting your guest with security, you ignore the situation, and suggest to your guest to pack up everything at night, and unpack it and reset up every morning. On 4-28-23 our group stayed in Sites 86,85,84. Site 84 had their E-bikes stolen, (chained & locked to their Coach). Site 85 had their Yeti ice chest stolen form their locked truck bed. When KOA staff was notified, they stated there is nothing we can do. This happens all the time, and we alerted you at check-in. The police came to take a report, and stated this is a daily issue at this campground due to the homeless population along the river. What! Locked gates only keep the honest people out at night. Hire security! Protect your guests, not you pocketbook. KOA raised their rates upon purchase from Durango, but lowered their standards. Side Note! You also have individuals using the pool, drinking, and blasting music that are not residents of the campgrounds. Again, no security, no over site! The general consensus of the campers we spoke with during our stay voiced their discontent for the blatant disregard of the security of their guests, their children, their families. We will never come back, and that is really sad. Keep in mind that the very people you put last on your priority list , are the very people that keep you in business. We stayed at the KOA in Red Bluff over New Years. We were with a large group. A bike was stolen in the middle of the night from one of our friends trailer. This campground has a lot of potential but lacks security. We have been to many other campgrounds that have a security officer that deters the riff raff from entering the property. Koa Redbluff does not have anything like this. For the price you pay, there should be security on site at night for an extra layer so your guests feel secure. read more

Huge sites with plenty of room to maneuver. All amenities were clean and usable. Various fire pits to use and the pool is big and clean. Just lock up your things at night and you'll be fine. Grass was green for the most part but it is the dry season and didn't expect it to be green. Very pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone with a bigger rig! read more

Loved it here. A few relaxing, quiet rv park. We were parked at a site right along the Sacramento River and in the hot days of June the wind coming off the river helped cool things down. 5 star Internet service, good amount of tv channels, concrete level pads to park on, asphalt roads, and a swimming pool. The particular site we were on had a huge lawn in back (right along the river) and even a grassy side yard. We will return. read more

Always stayed here one night with previous ownership on our way to Oregon. Unfortunately, now that it's KOA they have a 3 night minimum and wouldn't make an exception for our group of RV's. Need to give the folks who now operate the old Durango Park high marks. Clean, easy check-in, awesome pool, and Wi-Fi that rocks! We usually avoid KOAs but this one is great. There are homeless folks that may be able to access the park and go shopping so don't leave your gear unattended. Not sure I'd use it as a destination but great for an overnight stop. read more

We just spent two nights here for a quick weekend getaway, and we were so impressed with this campground that we booked stays here for 3 more trips. The whole campground was quiet and well-maintained, and the two women in the office who helped us were very friendly and helpful when we came in to book multiple sites for our upcoming trips. The two guys who drove around in the golf carts were also very friendly, and I love that they offer curbside propane refills (for a fee) as well as curbside trash pickup. The curbside propane refills is a huge convenience that we are happy to pay for. read more

The place is Clean. We set up a tent at near midnight. Nice pad with rubber chips for comfort. Bathrooms are very clean. Good for frou frou camping. We were just passing through. It is expensive but I felt comforted about it being in a gated community. The big problem is the noise. It is right beside the freeway and all night long you hear the truckers driving by and occasionally a train will blow his horn repeatedly! Bring ear plugs. read more

Was invited to stay here with friends for the rodeo. Made reservations well in advance at a ridicules rate of $125 per night. Upon finding our site, the grass was unkempt and was full of weeds. We had, yes I said "had" an electric bike as it was stolen in my campsite. I brought it to the offices attention and was advised theft was a big problem in the park. At these ridiculous prices, why don't they have security if they know there is a theft problem. I would not recommend or will I ever stay at this location again. read more
