The trash is emptied frequently and they supply large bags of ice on demand. I honestly can't wait to return to this little slice of heaven. The sad thing is that the lake is super low for people hoping to boat.

The location was perfect, right along the Sacramento River where we could watch the geese swim in the water, or walk right next to them as they wobbled through the grass in the large outdoor space at the back of the property. There was even a bench swing along the water, to enjoy the view, and boats available near the storage area for fishing. There are plenty of tall trees on and around the property, creating shade but also adding to the scenic view. It was lovely out there, a giant deck with great lighting and mist nozzles around the perimeter spraying water to keep guests cool as we walked in and out of the house. A good sized pool with floating tubes included. The fenced pool area with umbrellas and seating, and a bbq grill. Actually, there were 2-3 outdoor bbq grills on site, the one in the pool area was ideal because as one of our family members grilled burgers and hot dogs, he could just jump in the pool when the temperature became unbearable, lol. I mean Anderson seems to have 100 degree weather almost 24/7 in the summer... But not really, it dips in the evening, great for use of the hot tub near the deck. It's a really nice hot tub with jets that massage your back, neck, and legs at different pressures/speeds. It was soooo relaxing! On one of our nights, we made smores in the outdoor firepit. It's a beautiful setting with seating all around, including another bench swing. The fire wouldn't stay on at first (using the propane tank), but we eventually got it to work.. if you're not as lucky, there's coal hidden somewhere on the property if you look hard enough :P The inside of the house was perfect for our group, a spacious wide open space in the living room, kitchen, and dining area with lots of seating all around, enough for more than 12 people, almost half of them young kids (of course that's including the cottage). In the house, two smaller rooms, one master bedroom with a shower and jacuzzi, and a large office/writing/ multipurpose room which had multiple board games available, but we used this as another bedroom. Note there are no curtains or shades on the floor-to-ceiling windows on the whole backside of the house that opens to the porch.  Heavy duty kitchenware and appliances made cooking and serving family meals easy and convenient. Also, there are beach towels and bath towels in the closet for guests to use, which means you don't have to bring your own. There is no washer/dryer on site, but there is a laundromat down the street, near the 7-Eleven. The coffee table in the living room was metal on the surface, so that was ideal for the kids to use their magnetic toys on top. The TV was large, and we were able to connect to different apps, such as Netflix. And all of the couches were comfy for sitting and/or sleeping during our stay. At Riverside Homestay, pretty much everything you would need for an entertaining and relaxing getaway with loved ones is on the property. One problem we ran into is that some of the outlets in the cottage were not working. But other than that, the property's many amenities, with lots of fun waterplay outside and much needed AC indoors, made this hot summer weekend enjoyable. Pair that with good company, and it's all about creating great memories.

First time in Redding; first time in over a year to reunite the family since the CoVid pandemic…read more Out of all the RV parks in the area we looked at, we're glad we went with Mountain Gate. First off, our experience with customer service over the phone was always pleasant. They answered our questions, found us the accommodations we needed (we requested an RV spot and cabin) and made the necessary adjustments. Bridget and Patty were awesome! Next, we loved the location: right off the interstate and easy to find. Chevron and Shell, among others are just outside. It's also located next door to the Forest Ranger Station. From here, plenty sights in Shasta and Redding are an easy drive. Third, this RV park is well-maintained and carefully kept in order. It is definitely small compared to many other RV resorts: their sites are tight, they've no individual firepits, grill or camp rings, and there are no other fancy amentities (which is just right for these times of social-distance protocols.) The shared showers and toilets are cleaned daily and garbage bins are rarely overflowing. Some sites have a patch of grass, while others have gravel. Some have sturdy plastic picnic tables; others have wooden ones. All sites have shade from mature trees; which is also great for some nature sounds by the birds as well. There is a nice pet enclosure for the dogs to play and romp around leash-free. There are only 2 cottages and we're so glad we lucked out on one of them for the Memorial Day Weekend. One of my aunts is semi-disabled so it's hard for her to camp out in the heat. The cottages are a perfect complement for a family like ours. All in all, we were so pleased with our stay over the Memorial Day Weekend. The owners and staff are great--very hospitable and respectful. They enforce certain rules and guidances inside the park but it works for a peaceful, enjoyable stay for every camper. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area!

The inside of the house was spacious but out dated and dirty. I laid my arm over the back of one of the couches only to be met with tons of spider webs in the couch! The fireplace was broken, the pool table was broken and the bbq outside didn't work either. The dining room with all the drawings all over featured male genitals as well as nazi symbols. Overall, this could be a beautiful property but it unfortunately is not maintained.

For a property with a $500 deposit and a push to buy trip insurance, we expected basic functionality. Instead, we got a scavenger hunt for working utilities. We contacted them during the stay and escalated to Airbnb when nothing improved. The responses were mostly gaslighting and excuses. Airbnb, not the property managers, offered a $200 coupon, which we declined. That wasn't a resolution. It was hush money. Later, we noticed the listing had been quietly edited, changing the details that had misled us. No accountability, no explanation. Just a sweep under the rug once the damage was done. If they rebranded this as a haunted escape room with shower rationing and an emotional support cockroach, maybe it would work. But as a vacation rental? Absolutely not. My credit card ruled in favor of my dispute and I got our full refund. If you think this review is bad, wait until you see the TikTok series.

My 13 family members had a great time. The crew at HH are very good people and very helpful. The natural waterslide and tubing was a highlight of the trip (according to the kids). Wear good water shoes if you visit the waterslide as you have to hike a bit to get there. I have rented houseboats at other marinas on Shata before. Holiday Harbor had more flexible rental schedule (any day out and any day in) than other marinas. The orientation was excellent, office & dock people were great. We brought a propane firepit for s'mores on the shore each night, we brought folding chairs to have on the shore for quiet time with a book and the firepit. The lake was down 53' which for Shasta is nothing as it is so big and deep. It is actually better (IMHO) to have the lake down a bit so you can park the boat on land and use other boats (that use less fuel) for traveling the lake. The family wants to go back soon and that is the best recommendation.

First, they wouldn't sell me a $5 parking pass unless I knew someone who rented a boat, so luckily the last name I used "Hanson" worked. They asked "Scott Hanson?" and I'm like, yeah, sure. Second, parking was full (as one might expect on the Saturday before Memorial Day at 4pm), so we had to park in an overflow lot. This meant getting an escort to the lot and a shuttle back to the harbor AND it meant having to estimate a specific time to come back, which is hard when you're depending on a bunch of party boat people for the ride back (I'm looking at you, Scott Hanson. Still, though I had to go through some hassles, the three guys who helped us, including Joe and Hamilton (who are just Frank and Reynolds shy a yacht rock band) were super friendly and helpful.
