Robin checked me in - she was friendly and informative. She gave me a warm welcome which was awesome after a long drive from Sacramento. This location is honestly perfect. There's a chevron within walking distance and across the street had various of restaurants, Starbucks and fast food places like chick fil a and McDonald's. The free way is a light away and what's even better is a walking trail behind the hotel that has a river. You can hear footsteps in the hallway even if you're a light walker, but I was able to get a room on the end. The only thing that sucked about my room on 240 was the construction next to my room at started at 9am. Check out is 12pm. I was trying to snooze in but couldn't because of the noise. read more

We stayed here on a Tuesday night in April after making the reservation online. We were able to check in online but had to go to the front desk to get the keys because they do not have the digital key option. We reserved the King suite again because we like that size and style of room. This room was a little smaller than other Hampton Inn's we stayed in this trip but in general the same layout. This hotel has an outdoor pool but we did not inquire about it and it appeared closed. I would say this is a little older property but we appreciated the location and it was clean and comfortable. Hampton Inn & Suites on Larkspur Lane, Redding, California is IMO a 5 star place to stay. Friendly staff, excellent complimentary breakfast, spotless clean rooms/bathrooms, nice lounge and breakfast area. Bed was comfortable (good mattress) and a quality pillow. Lighting, heating was fine. Room had refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Great place. So why not 5 stars? Well, one of the staff stole my expensive, fancy wood walking stick I use due to right side body handicap. I came down to breakfast. Leaned my walking stick next to the coffee (excellent coffee btw) table, not far from the front reception desk. Then walked to the nearby kitchen area, got a very nice breakfast and then went back to get my stick. Which was gone. No stick. Front desk took my report. I asked various staff, no luck. Later, a manager (nice lady) came over with my walking stick, saying it had been found in the Inn's laundry room, with the identifying white cap removed. We asked for an investigation by Inn management, which we understood would be done, since dishonest staff are bad for an Inn's reputation. We we told a senior mgr would be calling us. Several days later, still no calls. Lesson learned, don't assume hotel/motel/Inn workers will not steal guest possessions. Even in 5 star lodgings. read more

Good stay. I had a one bed (king size) room with a microwave and fridge. It is definitely not the best Hilton but definitely doable to sleep (you're in Redding, go outside-- its beautiful haha). If I had the option, I would give 3.5 stars! Pros: - Smooth check-in; smooth check-out. The service is great. No complaints here. - Room was clean and quite large (was able to choose the room as other Hilton's do) - Had microwave and fridge (a decent size at that; see cons) - Good A/C and heater. It was raining all weekend and was very nice to have a functional heater - Plenty amount of breakfast food: hot food (eggs, some form of protein), oatmeal, waffle maker, yogurt, juices/milk, cereal, toast, pastries (scones, muffins), fruit... to name a few. - Water pressure and hot water in the shower! - Free parking and plenty of it Cons: - No digital key - My key stopped working on the last day that I was there. I had two keys and both of them stopped working. I had to get replacements but this is where the digital keys would have come in handy. - The style of the rooms were a bit outdated. - Although the fridge was decently sized for a hotel, it was barely cold even with the temperature gauge. The freezer was excellent. It kept my ice packs frozen but the rest of the fridge lacked Definitely would come back again. It was a great distance from all things wonderful (Mt. We've stayed at this hotel many times before but this last time we stayed Thanksgiving week, the room smelled horrible. The bathroom a STRONG bleach smell and the actual room an over the top chemical cleaner smell. Had a nice stay no issues we originally were only staying for one night but after staying the night we decided to stay an additional night lucky they had a availability for us. When you arrive at the front lobby everything looks as though they are taking the COVID situation seriously and are doing what they can to prevent the spread of the virus. There is a shield protecting you and the front staff you must wear a mask when you are in the hotel check in was easy since I reregistered we just walked in showed my ID and they presented me with my key to the room We stayed on the 3rd floor room 301 which is way off in a corner at the end of the hall it was a little noisy with the people guest hanging out in the parking lot but they didn't stay out there for long it was a hot night so it was expected The elevator is very slow and is a little noisy but hey it worked read more

Stay here on my way down back home. Upon entering I was not greeted by the two ladies that were just chatting to each other. When I was finally acknowledge, I was rudely asked what I needed. I told her I was checking in and presented my Id for her. During check in my Diamond status was never acknowledge. Upon asking about the Diamond status parking tag, I was told that they don't have any of that there because they are a small town. And that I can just park anywhere out there. Which is fine but, there were Diamond status parking that was taken up by no Diamond guest. I was not offer any water, snack or cookie. Was just given my room key and that was it. Was told that they had my card on file for any incidental which is standard Pratice. But 3 days later and I check my account and I see a unexplained charge on my card for $34.66. Wth?? I was only there for one night and barely used anything. I my was just to sleep. Not sure where they learn about hygiene either as you will find the coffee maker in the bathroom next to the toilet. And the ice bucket in the bathroom as well. Room was standard, breakfast was standard, didn't use the pool cause it was raining. Small gym with only 3 machine . read more

Very pleased with the stay at this location! Room is a bit dated and can use some updating but otherwise it was great. Quiet and roomy and staff is great. We had an issue with a blown fuse and as soon as I called down they fixed it within less then 10 minutes! That's what I call service!! Breakfast selections were good! Oh GOD no. No no no no no. Smells weird. Disaffected staff. Terrible breakfast. Out of coffee. About 30 minutes south on I5 is another Hampton Inn in Red Bluff. The staff ans breakfast are what Hampton is known for. Not this. We were too late booking last night to get a room in Red Bluff. Do yourself a favor. Go back. Or go 30 minutes more. It's not the top in Hampton Inns either, but it is solid and reliable. And IIRC, doesn't have the massive hotel taxes that Redding has. read more

I just stayed there Friday night, the 19th of July, 2024. It was my 4th stay in less than a year. The air conditioning in my room did not work right and my room was very warm. I got in late and was too tired to complain or change rooms. The next morning I needed to iron my dress and I could not get the iron to stay on and it kept leaking water on my dress. You know after a long drive, you kinda expect that the great Hilton Branded hotels, like this Hampton in Redding, would be consistent with their customer service. I may be wrong here, after driving 10hrs to get to this location, I expect to be treated the same as all the other Hiltons I've stayed in. Tbh. This may seem trivial to some, but to me, it really wasn't. The benefit of being a Diamond member is to receive a water and snack on arrival. Sure Shawna got me water, but no snack. I'm in Hiltons Mon-Fri due to my job, and this is the first time that there was no snack available. Sure they offered me points, but I would rather have the snack. Other Hiltons have substituted a snack from the small convenience store, but not this location. It really makes you wonder how a $2.50 snack would break the company. The excuse Shawna gave me was that they've been trying to order it and it's been difficult to get them in stock. In my personal past as a manager, I personally have found ways to keep the customer happy. Sure, some guest's may be happy with points in this instance, but not everyone. My suggestions would be 1. Offer a snack alternative from their store. Subtract the cost basis from said snack from the snacks usually provided and we're talking, what, $1.00 difference? 2. Have guest pay the difference in points or even cash 3. If this is an ongoing stocking issue, find another supplier that can provide what is needed 4. Get a substitute snack from a local store, like Smart and Final, Walmart, or the dollar stores. Any of these may have an inexpensive snacks as a substitute. Offer that to the customer and now the customer actually has a choice between points and snack I'm sure there are other alternatives. Just so it's mentioned, the hotel did give me 250 points. As I prefaced earlier in this review, this might be trivial, but I believe I got my point of view across. As for the room, I booked online and apparently this was listed as the only room, found myself on the 3rd floor. Room was clean and organized. Bathroom was also on point. The bedside dresser had a Charge point which consists of dual AC outlets and dual USB ports. Perfect for my needs. The mini fridge was surprisingly the larger unit and had tons of room and included a freezer section. Standard issue microwave. Mini ironing board and iron in the closet. Strangely enough was the coffee machine and ice bucket were in the bathroom (may be due to the room made for disabled persons and this was, per online, the only room available). The corner desk has no USB ports but does have a chair with wheels. Wall thermostat works. Pretty average stay other than the aforementioned issue. And I'll add that breakfast offers no meat options, just eggs for protein. read more

The room was disgustingly dirty and noisy. The hideaway bed was caked with grime and the mattress had stains. Carpet smelled and need a good vacuuming. Coffee table had corner chewed off and glue on top. Pictures and furniture hide damaged walls. Noise from room beside us actually vibrated our head boards till 9:45pm. My husband and I had checked prices earlier today and found that out of the hiltons in town this one had the best deal but when we arrived they were trying to charge us $100 more than what we had seen on the Hilton Honors App. Total headache and not what we want to be haggling with after a long day and four small children in the car. 10mins later and we are being treated like ROYALTY at Hilton Garden Inn with rates that matched the apps pricing. Passing through and needed a good place to stay and we got that here. The place is clean, reasonably quiet, except for the kids in the room upstairs, but they quieted down so no problem. Breakfast was pretty good. Eggs and cheese and ham turkey sausage potatoes cereal waffles, etc. a few blocks off the freeway so it was quiet. Parking lot is monitored by camera. The only issues are the slow elevator and typical crappy hotel pillows. I would stay here again. read more

We picked this hotel because we had a great experience in the one in Murrieta when we visited my son in the hospital. We had no issues with the room there and the breakfast included wonderful rosemary potatoes. BAD IDEA. The fans are automatically on in the bathrooms all night, which would be fine if a) it actually served its intended purpose and b) it wasn't so noisy to keep occupants from sleeping. After showers, the bedroom window was covered with so much condensation, you couldn't see out of it. I wonder how much mold is growing in here from the moisture. There are nicotine stains on the bathroom door trim... So much for requesting a non smoking room when you have allergies. The bathtub is disgusting. See photo. I don't think I need to say anything else. There are marks on the doors that my grandmother never would have stood for. (She was head of housekeeping at Mariani's Inn in Santa Clara for almost 40 years.) The breakfast... Ugggh. The tables were all dirty and gross. Even one that looked clean, I tried to wipe with a wet napkin and the napkin came up super dirty and nasty. My mom was dishing up some sausage gravy on her biscuits when I saw a black hair about 10 inches long dangling from the ladle, which matched exactly that of the breakfast attendant. When I handed her the hair and told her she should change the ladle and the gravy, she didn't apologize and in fact looked pissed. I mean seriously, I found your hair in my elderly mom's food and you can't even pretend like you effing care?! I don't know why they aren't required to wear hairnets. She replaced the gravy with some she hastily made.. no sausage, watery and lumpy. I will not be back and will encourage anyone who visits to give this place a wide berth. read more

I'm often traveling to Redding for work and it can be difficult to find a decent hotel at the correct rate. I lucked out booking the Hampton Inn on Larkspur Lane last minute. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The location is easy to find and located far enough off the main highway so traffic sounds are not a concern. Checking in was quick and the front desk staff greeted me professionally and with a warm smile. There are currently some fresh cookies for guests to take so I'm about to help myself to one of those! read more

It's a place to stay the night. We had at the last minute decided to try to see the Northern Lights. Knowing that Redding would have the last decent hotel on Interstate 5, I booked a room at this tired Hilton property. We checked in at 7:30pm on route towards the Oregon border. A few hours later we would return and spend the night. The woman at the front desk greeted us, never mentioning I was a Diamond member. She didn't offer the usual water bottles nor snack. Oh well... We returned at 11:45 pm tired and hungry. My wife grabbed a top ramen cup with full intent on paying for it. This bald headed clerk says out loud, "I need to see what she is getting!" He said it forcefully and accusingly. He then says, "Is that all she has in her hand?" I reply, "Yeah. A cup of noodles." We retreat to our room. We get to the door and swipe the card keys and nothing. It seems the woman forgot to activate the cards. Now it's midnight and we both walk down to the front desk and I say to the same employee, "I think the woman never scanned the keys correctly. He replied, "Listen, you need to keep them away from cell phones and electronic device! They are magnetic." He hands the cards back to me. Again we retreated to the room. It was a room, a tired desk with big gouges on the table top greeted us. The shower could have used a little bleach to get rid of the mold on the grout. The bed was a bed and that was about it. I must say after seeing the incredibly clean hall carpet, I thought the room would be nicer. Don't judge a book by its cover. The room had a usb thing to charge our phones, Would I stay here again? Hilton as one of their newer properties along I-5, I'd probably go there. This property is off the beaten path. read more

My family (husband, two daughters, and myself) have stayed at a number of Hampton Inn & Suites, and have found them to be perfect for our needs. The rooms are spacious, facilities are clean, staff are friendly, and we enjoy the included hot breakfast. Our youngest daughter especially looks forward to having what she calls "flat eggs" in the morning. And who doesn't love free cookies? On our most recent family vacation, we drove up from the Bay Area to check out Lassen Volcanic National Park with our oldest's 4th grade park pass, and see the Lake Shasta Caverns. 10 out of 10, would recommend both, by the way! But I digress. We enjoyed our stay at this Hampton Inn location. I felt compelled to write this review, however, for more than just comfortable amenities and nice cool air conditioning in 100+ degree summer temps. Upon returning home to San Jose, we realized that we likely forgot our oldest daughter's Fitbit activity tracker at the pool when the girls went swimming on our last night. It was nowhere to be found in our luggage, and the pool area was its last known whereabouts. The next evening (Friday), I called the hotel and the gentleman who answered the phone was very polite and said that anything of value would have been turned into the manager, and that I could leave a message for Bonnie and she'd call me back. I explained the situation, mentioned our room number for the past three nights, and left my name and number. I didn't really expect to hear back until Monday at the earliest, and perhaps not at all, if the device hadn't been turned in. The following morning, a Saturday, before even 8:30am, Bonnie called saying that the Fitbit had been found and was sitting on her desk! I was elated! I had already reluctantly decided that we'd need to buy a new one, so this news was fantastic (and saved us $70+)! Not only that, Bonnie turned down my offer to pay for packaging and postage to mail it to us in San Jose, and said she'd send it out this week! I thanked her profusely and am wanting to share about our experience here. It may not seem like a big deal to many, but we are truly grateful for Bonnie and the Hampton Inn team, and our daughter is so excited that she will be reunited with her favorite daily accessory. We liked this hotel so much we stayed here twice on the way to and way from a road trip. The rooms were nice and spaciously laid out for a family of 4 with a nook for the couch and tv. There was happy hour every night with free beers and wine and an entree (Mac and cheese and buns one night stir fry noodles and spring rolls the second). The breakfast in the morning was great with so many options for food. The breakfast attendant was so helpful bringing sippy cups for my kids I had to compliment her to the front desk (wish I still remembered her name to mention it now). So, Hilton has decided that they can add an arbitrary, exorbitant, and undisclosed pet fee for (formerly loyal) Hilton Honors members, for "pet-friendly" rooms. So if y'all aren't busy tomorrow morning -- and wanna' see a Labrador eat $75 worth of omelettes at a Redding, CA hotel breakfast buffet -- come on over. Seriously, vengeance thy name is Fido! It's completely understandable for a property to expect that each guest have NO IDEA that there was previously a pet in a room. And cleaning the rooms would be a good start. But simply adding a non refundable fee, the equivalent of 40% of the overall charge, is a helluva way to see formerly loyal customers walk. When front desk staff acknowledge that it's a serial complaint from surprised guests, that's not a clever pricing gimmick, that's willful misrepresentation bordering on fraud. ("Hello, Sheriff?") Wonderful, comfortable place to stay. Very clean, beautifully laid out, luxurious room. That said, there are 2 things that kept it from being 5 star: 1. The breakfast had a lot of wonderful-looking options but absolutely NOTHING for the traveler who eats low-carb. They had a sign advertising eggs but it turns out they were in the bagel topper, which obviously had flour in it as well. I'm thankful I had string cheese I'd brought with me! 2. They can't do anything about it but the hotel behind them is out of business and has storage containers and dumpsters all around, so that was the view from my window. . We stayed at Hampton Inn & Suites, Redding March 20-22, 2015. This place is pretty nice and quiet when we went. They take AAA card get a small discount. Check in was easy, but it took maybe 15 minutes to get our card keys to work. Got some warm chocolate chip cookies by the check-in counter. Room had King size bed, TV, nice toiletry, one bathroom, sink, small single coffee maker, hair dryer. FREE breakfast - make your own waffle, cereal, oatmeal, some hot foods: omelet or potatoes, sausage (can change), fruit, yogurt, pastries, juice, coffee, tea. Nice hotel. Good service. Comfortable room. Convenient small heated pool and jacuzzi. Spent two nights here while visiting Lassen National Park. I could have probably found somewhere closer to the park, but not a mainstream Hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. I especially like the Long chair. On the first night I had trouble sleeping due to the excessively warm comforter. I requested housekeeping use a lighter blanket, and they did. The second night was much better. Free Wi-Fi was reasonably fast. Cable television gave me what I needed, CNN. If I'm back in town I'll probably stay here again. I've driven through Reading dozens of times, but this is my first stop here overnight. Nice little city. read more

This was not our first stay at this hotel; but, our first stay during the pandemic. However, the pandemic cannot be blamed for the decline at this establishment. Check-in was smooth but cold, almost as if there is a problem with HHonors Members using points for a stay. Of the two room cards, only one worked. The king room was directly across the hall from the elevator. I was surprised that we were not bothered by elevator noise. The room was comfortable; but, I was awakened several times during the night by the noisy heater. I understand the need for low-flow shower heads. I just wish they had spend a few cents more for a good one. By Hampton Inn standards, the breakfast was subpar. The orange juice dispenser was delivering some type of cloudy liquid that most definitely was not orange juice. I never found the coffee and there was no meat option. Next time I pass through Redding, I will consider one of this hotel's competitors. read more
