View of hotel next door + fresh snowcapped mountain

WHY I WENT HERE: - business trip THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located on Larkspur Ln in between Mistletoe Ln and Industrial St - decent amount of parking - the part of the hotel that overlooks the pool also has a view of the mountain; at the time of my stay there was fresh snow, which was nice THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - lobby, coffee/hot water station, and sitting area for breakfast has various seating options - bathroom had good lighting; showerhead pressure was good - room was a good size CUSTOMER SERVICE: - this hotel doesn't have check-in through the Hilton app, so I had to do the old-fashioned lobby front desk check-in; the staff member I spoke with was very warm and welcoming

Nice big lobby. Lot of seats and tables for breakfast time.

Such a friendly staffs. Dog friendly. Our room was very clean and spacious. Lobby is full of chairs and tables. It's mostly used for breakfast time. Lots of magazines and newspapers to read. Coffee and tea available in the lobby 24/7. Keep an eye out for fresh baked cookies daily. 5-7mins from restaurants, Turtle Bay and shopping.

We stayed here on a Tuesday night in April after making the reservation online. We were able to check in online but had to go to the front desk to get the keys because they do not have the digital key option. We reserved the King suite again because we like that size and style of room. This room was a little smaller than other Hampton Inn's we stayed in this trip but in general the same layout. This hotel has an outdoor pool but we did not inquire about it and it appeared closed. I would say this is a little older property but we appreciated the location and it was clean and comfortable. It was also quiet which was appreciated. Overall it was a good stay.

On a recent road trip - one of many over the years - we stayed in a wide variety of places: motels, small town charming inns (some like motels, but $$$), Embassy Suites, and lodges. Hampton was my favorite as it's: Clean Modern Electronic accommodations (plugs, lights) are located in the right places. Very hot water and good pressure Multiple mirrors Spacious *** The free breakfast is BEST of any of the chains. Pressed juices, omelettes...stocked and clean Factor-in low price and it's the best overall value.

Stayed here on a whim on a Thursday in February ~ I'm so glad I did…read more I am an In-Home Supportive Services Provider (IHSS) in California, USA. I was traveling with a client of mine who has very occasional seizures, and early on in our first morning here he had one while alone in the shower. Luckily, this hotel is sandwiched between lots of different hotels and restaurants, but more importantly, between the fabulous Shasta Regional Medical Center the proximate Redding Fire House. First Responders were on site in about ten minutes (which felt like an hour) and transpo went smoothly despite there being no elevator and us being on the second floor (the staircase has a landing and everything). Now, this is all well and good, and relatively standard if I may be so bold, but I'm here to say that the staff at the Americana went way above and beyond the call of duty. Housekeeping was in the next room when he collapsed. When I saw the severity of the situation I-in a relative panic, ran over to nearby staff to ask for help. This incredible woman, Darby, was the perfect person to help (second only to an actual first responder, RN or doctor). After calming the situation down with nothing but grace, she explained a little bit of her own history with seizures and what it meant to her to be able to help us in any way. Darby supported my client and I both physically and emotionally while he came out of his seizure and fell into a deep sleep, thank God, and she even stayed with me for a few minutes after he had been loaded into the ambulance. She and her boss, the manager Heather, and another lovely woman from the Americana whose name I never caught, were so supportive, kind and patient with me while I tried my best to help the PMs gather the information they needed about my client. I'd imagine some people had to check in or out a bit late because of us, sorry! But I couldn't be bothered by other guests after how helpful the staff was. PS . He was cared for in the nearby SRMC, a great hospital about two blocks away. He is now home and in stable condition. TL,DR Staff came in clutch for IHSS worker when senior client had a seizure in the shower - Housekeeper & management absolutely rock The local hospital is excellent!!

This hotel is north of the city away from shopping and restaurants in the main part of Redding. The parking lot is shared with the Fairfield By Marriott. After reading reviews of both properties, my wife choose the Home 2 Suites. Check in was a little slow both times as there is only one employee working the front. But, they did their job as best they could. No upgrades to a larger room as I don't have status. We were given a room with 2 queens, exactly as we reserved. The room had a nice sofa, seating area and a large screen tv. Bathroom was large size and had soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion from Zero. They have a gym on the first floor with stationary bikes and treadmill for cardio. Dumbbells and a weight machine are available if you need to lift weights. A laundry room is part of the gym. The gym was adequate, though a little strange to have people in there waiting for the washing machine or dryer. It's a good hotel to stop at after a long drive north. I am a Hilton honors member so I knew I would have a good experience since I have always had them in other Hilton's in the past. I arrived to check in around 10pm and the front desk clerk was not present. I waited anther 5 minutes til someone noticed I was there and she was behind the desk in what looked like an office. She said she would be with me as soon as she finished up her closing duties and I waited another 5-10 minutes to be helped. I gave her my name for my reservation and she then stated I didn't have a reservation. I had the confirmation in a text. she was not friendly or polite, nor did she smile she said I "don't know what to tell you but you dont have a reservation" I then told her that it was my insurance that had made the reservation and I have the confirmation text and email. She then said well your name isn't in here. At this moment I knew there was clearly something wrong with this woman....and she did not want to help me. She didn't ask me for the confirmation number or say "let's get this figured out" she wanted to turn me away. She finally asked me if there could be another name that my reservation could be under and it happened to be my maiden name. I gave my ID she looked at it and said that she cannot allow me to check in because my ID did not match the name that it was registered under. I told her that I did not have an ID with my maiden name and she replied with well, you're not gonna be able to check in tonight unless I have an ID that matches the reservation name. she was very abrasive and dismissive and ready to turn me away. She did not have the usual custome service attitude ...saying "lets help you figure this out" She said I was going to have to take care of it tomorrow. I told her I had no where to go my home was deemed unlivable at the moment and I called the insurance company for them to clear it up for her she was also aggressive to the women from the insurance company telling her she could not check me in unless she made another reservation and made it very difficult for the woman even tho she confirmed my identity and the authorization. luckily I had a wonderful customer service from my insurance company and they went above and beyond to try and make sure that I was able to have a place to stay. The reissued the reservation in my name and as it was getting all cleared up the clerk reminded me that "she was not rude to me and she was helping me" which was laughable she was actually trying to turn me away. I have never in my life had an interaction at a hotel that prides themselves in excellence treat me so awful in a time where I felt the most vulnerable. Then I was told the clerk was going around asking staff if my girls ages 17,14,10 were left unattended "they went to the desk to get the WiFi password" so I cannot renew my reservation after my 8 day stay...this is diabolical if you ask me. And not once did they say while checking in that kids could not walk to the lobby without my presence. They are well behaved teenage girls ...come on!

I was so happy with my bed and breakfast experience that I definitely will trust my fellow reviewers in the future. First, Janelle was super accommodating and let me check in early because I would be attending the wedding and needed to get ready. She followed up with me on text message as to my arrival time to make sure that she would be there to greet me. When I walked in, I noticed my phone number was coded to the key pad entrance to the B&B. So cool! Janelle was there to greet me and give me an envelope with my key and instructions. I went up with her to the bedroom and needless to say, was so impressed with her style and quality that she brings to her B&B. The room seemed to be flawless in the way that she spent time picking out pictures and linens. The linens were even washed in a very nice fabric softener and didn't have that normal "hotel" smell. I was able to get the Sun Dial Room, and even though it was the most expensive, it was definitely worth every penny. There was a fresh, large bottle of water in the room with chocolates. I had free wifi and a nice flat screen TV. A jacuzzi tub. And oh, did I mention.. the best, most comfortable bed that I never wanted to leave? Top it off.. breakfast in the morning makes me giddy just thinking about it. I had french toast, a vegetable frittata, potatoes, chicken/apple sausage, fresh juice and coffee. Janelle served breakfast promptly at 8:30 and I was definitely there with bells on. Everything was served family style and while eating breakfast you are able to enjoy the company of other guests, which makes breakfast that much more entertaining. For a few bucks more, stay at this bed and breakfast. Completely avoid the Howard Johnson or other chain hotel. You will not be disappointed.
