Staff was super friendly. Room was clean and spacious. You could tell the bathroom wasn't the newest, but it was clean and certainly comfortable. Breakfast was tasty - pretty standard Hampton inn breakfast with eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, make your own waffles, apples, bananas, and assorted bread/pasty items. Parking lot seemed reasonably safe, but the area around the hotel isn't super great, so we didn't leave anything visible in the car. read more

Staff here was amazing, room was great. We left some items in the room due to checking out a few days early from an emergency. I called back within the hour after we left and was told I'd have to call back tomorrow. I even told them we'd have someone pick up the items. Called again the next day and our things had gotten tossed out. They lady was very kind though and apologized and tried to make it right. read more

Please do not book with Hampton Inn. Especially if using a 3rd party. Through Ticketsatwork and Hampton inn, they couldnt figure out their billing process between each other. I paid Tickets at work in full for 2 nights at this hotel and the Hotel charged me for an additional night. I paid 3 nights for only 2 nights of stay. I've never had this happen with any other hotel booking. There are many other hotels in the area which you can choose from. Not worth the trouble here! Dishonest business practices. The motel room is OK but NO towel bars or hooks in the bathroom sink area. Not a single one. I guess you think the towels should be hung from the doors or the shower rod or something. Also, the standard WiFi promised with the room isn't robust enough to download pics from my iPhone to my PC. But for an additional $5 per night (on top of a $180 per night stay) I could have gotten Wifi that actually worked, not the Big Lots version that you provided. Shame on you, Hampton -- that's just plain cheap. You could have and should have done better than that. I expected decent Wifi, otherwise I would not have booked with you to begin with. My wife and I were traveling through Redding Friday evening, 8/10, and stayed at Hampton Inn and Suites. The hotel ensured it was safe to park on their premises with a security guard present on property. The following morning we noticed both our bikes were missing and a clipped cable dangling from our rack. The two bikes are Specialized Hybrid with both front tires removed. After several calls with their front desk manager, they were unapologetic and rude. We were later informed of previous history of break ins and thefts (which would explain for the security guard, who at the time of observation was constantly on his phone). After further research on this hotel prior reviews expressed the same concerns regarding thefts and break ins. If I could have seen those earlier, I would have pushed further down the interstate for a hotel room. Best to those travelers! read more

Used to be our go-to hotel when in Redding. Better than two years since our last stay and this time we said "good enough" but not so good to be our "only" in the area. Best assets here remain the delightful staff and clean rooms and public areas. The updated lobby is nice too. But amenities in room seem to have gone downhill. Bed was uncomfortable. Pillows were too. Sheets were flimsy. Towels were skimpy in quality and number. A snail moves faster than the wifi. In the context of a Motel 6 I wouldn't kvetch. But for expectations for this Hilton mid range brand, we were disappointed. read more

And local beer and wine with cheese and crackers in the evenings. A 3rd floor room ensures you a quiet stay. A variety of pillows are on the beds, firm, fluffy and/or super soft. This is your typical Hampton Inn & Suites. Nice clean rooms, comfy beds, decent breakfast, and friendly customer service. There's a beautiful baby grand piano in the breakfast area that is supposed to play during breakfast time but during the days that I stayed at the hotel, it wasn't on so that was pretty disappointing. What's different is that this one has a complimentary happy hour that consist of cheese, crackers, salsa, chips, wine, and beer that starts around 6pm to 7 or 8pm. I think it's pretty nice that the hotel manager decided to do this because it goes to show how thoughtful the hotel is to its guest. As far as security, if you don't leave anything in your car that is visible to someone walking by, then there's nothing to worry about your car getting broken into. This is my second Hampton Inn review in the past 4 or 5 months. Both times were quick visits on the way to other places (this visit was only 9 hours as resting place between Portland and the SCV). Both times I left saying, "I love my HHonors points, but I'm just not a fan of Hampton Inn." We checked in after lots of driving and all we wanted to do was relax, shower, and watch some tv before waking up at 5:30am the next day. The room was clean and okay. Once we were all settled, we turn on the tv...and try again...and try again...and it doesn't work. One time it did turn on, then turned itself off. We called the front desk, they said it should work and no power problems were reported from other rooms. We weren't about to move rooms, or wait for someone to come by and fix it - so we just went to sleep. If it was that important, we would have asked them to fix it or move us - but instead just went to sleep. Can't say I won't be back (I am a total sucker for loyalty points), but Hampton Inns will never be on my list of favorite places to stay. read more

This is an above-average Hampton. Very clean, well-stocked store, decent internet speeds, manager's evening reception, etc. All in all, I think this is one of the better places to stay in Redding. Just some minor questions that kept me from going 5 stars -- why does every Hampton have a slightly funny smell when you first walk in the front door? And why does the State of California require them to post a notice saying that the building was built with materials known to cause cancer? You would think that they would try to avoid using those chemicals, given that they had to post a giant notice! Anyway, all in all, I reccomend this Hampton. The room was very spacious, which is nice since we are Traveling with twins, meaning double pack n plays. The rooms were inside which always feels a little nicer and safer. The amenities offered were above and beyond, they had all the norms plus mouthwash and a whole list of items for free at the front desk. I was in town for the weekend and came across this hotel via Yelp reviews. The reviews were solid and the price was right, for a Hilton brand, so I booked my room. The hotel is newer or newly remodeled and very clean. The room was larger than expected, the hot breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. My fiancé and I came into town for my nephews second birthday party. The main reason for our trip was to get away for a weekend. As I just miscarried. We checked in 03/06 and everything was a breeze. We were greeted by someone at the front desk. She was kind and got us checked in pretty quickly. Maybe five minutes max? She had asked if we were in town for the "bike thing" our hotel mates were pretty loud. It did wake us up a few times through out the night. However that's out of the hotels hands. Our room was spacious and clean. My fiancé really liked the layout of the room. He even took pictures of it. Our room was clean. We will be back for other family events. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. So not sure how that is. We did stroll through. I love this place and can't believe I never knew it existed before I started looking for places to stay. The hotel is situated a block from the main road, but still within easy driving distance to many restaurants, shopping, and the Sundial Bridge. All the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and even the other people staying there were nice. I was surprised that the hotel is only 3 stories tall and the parking lot is a bit small. If you check in before 6pm, there is a small happy hour in the lobby with wine and cheese. Don't forget to take advantage of the morning self-service breakfast. Unfortunately, I was able to tell that the scrambled eggs were from powder, but there is a lot of other things to choose from - make your own waffles, fruit, cereal, etc. Will definitely stay here again the next time I am in town. read more

Door knob falling off on bathroom door, bedside light didnt work. Woke to find ants all over table, window, desk, floor.. a bit horrific. Changed rooms. Still a door knob falling off, but bed side light worked and no more ants. Take away breakfast was very good. Staff all wore masks. We stayed here last night, the bed was comfortable. Customer service was okay. My biggest complaint was the fact that there were dirty towels left in the bathroom. And there was only one towel for two people. The elevator was extremely slow and I was terrified in it because of the noises it makes. I guess I would expect more from this chain. read more

This review is solely concerning front desk staff Jim. I called today at around 5:45am to request a late checkout. Jim answered the phone seemingly annoyed. When I stated that I wanted to request a late checkout Jim said "anything else". I said "no, that's all". Then he didn't say anything else. So, I asked "do you need my name or room number?" He said "yeah". I gave him my room number then he said "done. Bye". This conversation was awkward and unpleasant. Jim's attitude was so unnecessary considering he had no reason to be rude to me. Hilton Diamond member here-- sitting in the lobby right now for reception from 6:00-7:00pm and wanted to give a huge shoutout to the employee who works the reception. He is kind, conversational, and goes out of his way to assist guests by actually coming to where they're seated to ask if they would like another beer or wine. He personally thanks each guest for coming in to the reception. Give this guy a raise! Also love my room-- the bed is definitely up to Hilton quality and meets my Hilton expectations, the room is clean, and the pool/ hot tub are awesome. Overall a great Hilton property. This hotel lives up to its expectations. It is one of the highest rated hotels in Redding and was reasonably priced. The room was clean upon arrival and was cleaned daily. The daily cleanings were better than expected. Soap was replaced, all towels replenished and overall just a well stocked room. I'll start with this. The staff at the hotel are very polite and informative. I give them 5 stars but that's where it ends. This is for management. After checking in I saw a sign that read that the swimming pool is closed do to COVID and the order from the state. It was over 90 degrees and would have like to have cooled off. The business center was closed, I'm not sure why, perhaps COVID? I need to type a letter at 9:00 at night. I was told that I could go to the neighboring hotel, there sister hotel to use the business center. That was too late for me to go over there. Clean stickers everywhere front door, lobby, elevator, halls, room door, in the room. So how would I know if it's really clean? As soon as I walked into the bathroom I could see the dirt, mold, or whatever it was in the separation between the two panels in the shower. This stuff doesn't just happen overnight. By the way, the next day I went across to the sister hotel and was able to use the business center. As I walked in, the pool was open with kids splashing about. Seriously? Also, I paid top dollar for a two night stay. This COVID stuff has gone too far. Management is maximizing COVID for marketing purposes. Clean the rooms! read more

I know it's probably a little bit strange to get a five star review at a Hampton Inn and suites but we really enjoyed our stay there. There was a nice pool and Jacuzzi and the operator, Daisy, was very delightful and pleasant. The breakfast in the morning was more than we could ask for and what is included and the rooms were extremely clean and appeared to have been recently remodeled for updated. I posted five stars because it was such a pleasant surprise for how cheap it was to stay there. They also excepted a AAA discount which brought the price down even more. read more

I stayed at the Best Western Hilltop for 4 nights with my sister. They have security that walks the parking lot from 7pm-11am and they look in bushes top of their game. When my boyfriend came down I had reservations at the Hampton Inn for 5 nights and my sister decided to move over there extending her stay for two more nights. I asked about security as Redding has a meth problem and they are everywhere! Zombies they call them here. I was told there was security by Hampton so I felt okay. We stayed out late one night and it was difficult to find parking at the Hampton so I ended up towards the back of the building after driving around. Never saw a security guard. Did not feel good about it. Though the rooms were nice. My sister was parked right up front by the entrance. Next day she realized her car had been broken into. The Manager just said "yes they will break your window for change". No concern, just a sorry and basically too bad. We ended up going back to the Best Western and as soon as we pulled up I was happy to see the security guard. I asked for a refund from my other place Hampton because I didn't want a broken window. They did refund the rest of my week but I actually felt they should of refunded the one night as well that we stayed due to the circumstances. It cost me twice the amount to move by booking short notice. According to Hampton suites larkspure, it's common to have break ins there. With the amount they charge, why, why wouldn't they have better security? Lost my business forever, my sisters as well. Smaller rooms at Best Western Hilltop but saves you a broken car window deductible from insurance. Expected much more from this chain. Shame on you Hampton. read more

If you are Caucasian then you will enjoy this place. Any other race be wary of stopping by even for a night. The clerks will try their best to hide their prejudice feeling but you notice the obvious difference in the greeting and treatment of the staff especially the manager Shawn. You will notice the difference on they interact with different " types" of people I will never stop by this place or area ever again. How can A place in California be so out of touch with reality. If you're looking for a good, clean hotel with the perk of a couple complimentary amentities, this Hampton would seem a good fit. I was surprised at how nice this particular Hampton Inn was. I only stayed for less than 12 hours for business, but the previous 3 nights I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Redding. The rooms were more delux and the breakfast was complimentary at the Hampton. When I arrived there were plenty of parking spaces available and a friendly face greeted me as I entered. There were complimentary cookies as I checked in which I think is always a nice touch in any attempt to win guests' satisfaction. I passed on the baked goods but I was accomodated with a king bed, on a higher floor, near an elevator. Bam! Requests met. The free wi-fi was strong enough for me to Skype with my bf before laying my head on the perfectly fluffed down pillows. I sometimes feel guilty for complaining about a poor connection if the wi-fi is complimentary, but this wasn't the case during my stay. It's easy to connect without having to enter a password if you're a Hilton Honors member. All they ask is your username and passcode. The sheets and comforter were more than I could've asked for and the bathroom toiletries would've sufficed had i forgot my own. The room was simple, but comfortable. I also love the small dresser near the closet and entryway that's designed to hold your suitcase. It was the perfect height and had plenty of room for my carry-on to lay ontop. The complimentary breakfast is served from 6am-10am. Since I had an a.m. flight to catch from the Redding Airport, I chose the express check-out and headed out of the lobby around 5:45am. Again, what a surprise to see the continental breakfast was already prepared, 15 minutes early. Maybe that's how things should be, but I know they're usually not. I was happy with coffee and a banana, but as I exited there were brown lunch bags filled with on-the-go breakfast items sitting on the front desk counter that i swiped too. The contents? An apple, bottle of water, Special K cereal bar and muffin. As any frequent business traveler or Hilton Honors member would understand, I am all about the points and the perks. Next time I'm in Redding for work, this hotel will be my choice. read more

I booked a room through Expedia (DON'T USE EXPEDIA EVER) and the system automatically defaulted to a month ahead. We ended up paying twice (once for a night we never used). I disputed it with Expedia, but the Hampton Inn in Redding would not refund it. They canceled really fast, but still charged me. I'm sure they charged some other poor sap for the same room - doubled charged for one room, I'm guessing. It's not even a very good hotel overall. It's a shame, because I will not stay at another Hampton Inn now and we do quite a bit of traveling. read more

When we arrived, all I need to do was show my ID and they handed me my keys. Check out was easy as well - the folio was emailed to me and that was it. Can't lose staying at Hapmton Inn when traveling for work. A little extra touch to have cookies waiting at the front desk (even if they were hard as a rock and inedible but it's the thought that counts right?). The room was pretty standard with bed, tv, mini fridge, desk. Nothing that I could complain about. There's a complimentary breakfast downstairs which consisted of juice, coffee, yogurt, cereal, some form of omelette, sausage patties, and baked goods. Decent enough breakfast to get you going, but the Holiday Inn I stayed at other locations had better offerings.
