Had an amazing weekend at Tsasdi Resort celebrating my mother in law's surprise birthday party. We had family traveling over 12 hours to join us and wanted somewhere we all could be in one place, have a BBQ and enjoy her party! We had the lodge decorated, inside and outside to accommodate all our guests. Scott did not hesitate to help us move the furniture, chairs and even got our beer kegs set up. We were able to enjoy the grounds with morning walks, late night talks, a fire pit and the deck with an incredible view. It's truly a weekend the entire family won't forget! On a long weekend away, we stopped halfway between Sacramento and our end destination at the Tsasdi Resort near Shasta Lake to spend one night. The staff were friendly and the entire check in process was easy. For the price, we got an individual tiny cabin with two bedrooms and a bath. It came with a simple kitchen and an awesome patio overlooking the, unfortunately, near empty lake. The staff informed us that the lake had been drained to help fight recent California wildfires, so that made me feel a little bit better. Anyways, the cabin was clean and everything you would need for a nice relaxing stay. My biggest qualm was that the hot water did not work so we were not able to take a shower (unless it was ice water cold). And the Internet did not work - not for browsing or streaming pleasure but simply for cell phone service in such a remote area. All in all, a decent spot to stay in the Shasta Lake area. read more

The owners/hosts Scott and Julie could not have been more hospitable. When our skiboat encountered problems Scott and Nolan jumped in to help - where does that ever happen anymore? This place is a favorite of long-time visitors and we just joined that club. The dock and slips are a great feature for those who want to walk down the hill and jump in their boat for a day on Lake Shasta. Just HAVE to share our AWESOME experience! I am the commercial captain at The Fun Factory Guided Powerboat Adventures on Lake Shasta for the past 10 years. I had some long time VIP guests come in for an un planned 3 day lake retreat and even though they were quite busy they gave us the most amazing cabin, with a beautiful view of the lake and the inside was absolutely gorgeous!! There was even a captain themed room just for me! My guests usually stay at a different resort but they were booked up so we were OVERJOYED when Scott and Julie found room for us on this holiday weekend! Over the top Covid cleanliness through out, we spent most the time we were not boating on the outside patio with the Jimi Buffett themed patio bar which is soo perfect for my VIP guests a HUGE Jimi Buffett fan! Fun Factory has been sending our clients toTsadi Resort for years, Scott and Julie always treat them all like family, all our guests LOVE IT and now that I have had a chance to stay there I am going to reserve the Captains Suite on every over night stay I can! I cant say enough great comments about the lodging, I slept like a baby, the ac worked great, the bathrooms were even beautiful, and two thumbs up to the interior decorator thats the NICEST cabin I have ever rented hands down! Great place to stay at Lake Shasta. I came here 37 years ago and just recently went back. Things haven't changed too much except the water level was full which made for a short walk down to the boat dock. Very friendly staff responsive to your needs. Cabins are a little dated, but quite quaint and clean. Tsasdi's is dog friendly, and close to a few restaurants and grocery stores. Boat dock is nice and in good shape and they don't charge extra for a boat! Definitely recommend this place for a nice vacation. read more

Stayed nearly every summer from the time I was about 10 until I turned 30. Even met my husband up here when I was a teenager. My heart breaks that we were inclined to cancel our reservation this year after so many wonderful trips. Amongst many other issues, the cabin prices keep increasing and there are no improvements being made to justify. We've had some really unfortunate situations arise over the last few years and really were sad and let down by how ownership handled it, especially after establishing a long-time relationship with them and their businesses in the area. When it was over 100 degrees last summer and the fridge AND swamp cooler broke on only day 4 of the week, the owner didn't even let out an "I apologize" and in fact was extremely condescending and rude about it when we brought it to his attention. We had 4 cabins booked for this July and all decided to cancel. I hope to return one day in the future when things smooth out. read more

I came here from the Bay Area on Presidents' Day weekend with my fiancé. What a treat! The new owners are so sweet they made us feel right at home. The scenery is great and I can't wait to come back, this is a great all year place. I hear there's skiing 30 minutes away so I'm hoping I can check it out next winter. The cottages are small, clean and cozy, with an electric fire place, a deck that views the lake and a small kitchen. It was just what we needed for a romantic weekend away from the city. The first day we made breakfast at the cabin and ate out in the deck with the amazing views. In the afternoon we went to Mount Shasta caverns, it was breath taking. Our second day we enjoyed the outdoors and went off-roading, running and kayaking. We didn't get around to go on the hikes and see all the waterfalls there are around here, but it's another reason to come back. read more

My wife and I wanted to take a short vacation while the kids were on Easter break. After deciding that we would like to tour the Caverns at Lake Shasta, we took a chance on Tsasdi Resort (Pronounced ZAWS-DEE) and boy are we glad we did! Immediately, we felt at home as the owner's Scott and Julie welcomed us with the greatest hospitality one could ask for! Our children felt right at home, and the cabin, to our amazement, was remarkably well-kept and perfect for our family. Scott and Julie went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant for all of us. Scott took my boys fishing on the docks, for rides on the golf cart and quad runner, and let us borrow the kayaks for one of the greatest family memories we've ever enjoyed. As owners, this wonderful couple are truly performing their dream job---making memories for families. You can feel their love and sense of enjoyment in what they do! We loved it so much, that we not only stayed an EXTRA day, but we decided to have an annual family gathering here as well! I was a little apprehensive about this place after reading what sophie s. had to say. I had no say in choosing where we were staying because my boyfriend surprised me with the trip to lake shasta the night before we were to leave. I expected the worst from the owner Dave the whole time we were there but he was great. He let us stay in the game room past midnight. We were never "reprimanded, scolded, or psychoanalyzed." We stayed in cabin #7 which had a great view of the lake. The place was very clean and comfortable. I think the floors and the windows were new. The kitchen was fully stocked and functioning. We have no complaints about the resort or the staff. I would recommend this place to my friends and family and we are definitely going back again. read more

Stayed this weekend with my boyfriend for my birthday and couldn't have asked for better location or set-up. Cabin is just enough to feel comfy and equipped with its what you need, but rustic enough to get an outdoor lake experience. We were a little worried about not having enough to do without a boat, but no problem at all because Tsadi has paddle boards, kayaks, and a canoe at no charge. The dock also has plenty of space to just set up shop for the day and lounge. Owners were really helpful and friendly and have great suggestions of restaurants and hikes nearby. We've been on A LOT of Northern California weekend getaways, and we both agreed this was a favorite. We will be back! read more

My family and I visited Tsasdi's resort over the Memorial Day weekend and absolutely loved it! Scott and Julie provide the us with best hospitality. The cabins are really clean with great views of the lake. There's lot of things for our kids/family to do, bike ride, fish, kayak, play basketball, volleyball and campfires at night and much more! We especially liked the boat dock mooring for our boat for easy access to the Shasta lake. We've already reserved a cabin for next year. Scott & Julie do an amazing job with this resort! It is a first class operation and they have done a fantastic job with several upgrades and the deck expansion. They both go out of their way to talk with the guests and make sure everyone feels welcome. We went up over Labor Day weekend ( our second trip for the season) and unfortunately another fire began "The Delta Fire". Of course, we were disappointed, but we still had a fantastic time and boated the other side of the Lake where it was perfectly clear. I was reading a few of the reviews on yelp and I have to voice my opinion regarding Tsasdi's cancellation policy. What people fail to realize is that a fire is out of everyone's control and an "Act of Nature". If you flew to Hawaii and "Hurricane Lane" hit the island you were heading to, you wouldn't get a refund on your hotel or flight if you cancelled last minute. Why do you think it should be any different???? If you research various cancellation policies (example: cruise lines, hotels, cabins or most travel destinations) you would realize Tsasdi is quite fair on their cancellation policy. It has been a very tough year for California in general for fighting fires! 6,814 FIRES as 10/6/2018 in California Over 1.5 million acres 8 civilians 6 firefighters have lost their lives How many people and business have been effected???? I don't think I need to say anything further, but to share that Tsasdi is an amazing vacation destination and Scott and Julie are wonderful people and fantastic resort owners! In addition,The Basshole Brews is a great restaurant with reasonable priced food and the Burgers are my favorite. We have reserved our cabins for next year and are looking forward to another enjoyable vacation. read more

I've just returned from 4 glorious days at Tsasdi resort. It was heavenly. I was assisting a women's wellness retreat that took place Thursday through Sunday. I had never been to this area, and fell in love with Tsasdi. I stayed in cabin #1, we used the cellar (another unit) and the large hall (sorry, forgot the name). First to note is that there are new owners, Julie and Scott. I think that they've owned Tsasdi since approximately January 2015. Julie and Scott are lovely people, it was a complete pleasure staying and working with them. They were so attentive, thoughtful, available to help, and considerate of our needs. I was teaching yoga 2x a day, we alternated between the outdoor deck and the large indoor gathering space. Scott and Julie would anticipated what was needed, and take care of things ahead of time, before I ever needed to ask. They kept cozy fires, they'd rearrange furniture to make space, and Julie would add the little details, such as candles, blankets, and things like that that brought a beauty and warmth to the spaces. They have been remodeling and redecorating, I wish they'd come and do my house. I'm so impressed with how tasteful, very much like sunset magazine, a style that makes you want to sit, down, linger, and enjoy. I practiced yoga by myself in my cabin, so my mat and I were on the floor in my cabin. It was immaculate. I've never felt so comfortable being on a floor in a rental cabin before. The linens are nice, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. I was really impressed. Each cabin has a kitchen, there are a wide range of cabin sizes, and all have covered porches, so you can sit out in the shade, or in the rain, and enjoy nature and views of the lake. I can't wait to come back and bring my family. This place is a hidden gem! If you're considering visiting, don't hesitate, you won't be sorry. read more

I stayed at this place for 1 night and would like to share my experience with others. The place was cosy and neat but definitely not good for more than 4 people (although they say 7!). There are two beds (1 twin and 1 queen) in the living room and it's almost impossible to sleep there since you can hear the noises in the bathroom and the small kitchen all the time. Even in the room with one king bed, you can hear the neighbors. I paid around 80$ for one night and could not sleep at all. Hopefully they would shield the walls in the future or give better information bout how many people could actually sleep there. Otherwise, you could fill the place with beds but no one can have a proper sleep. read more

The 5.5 hour drive from Morgan Hill is no big deal as this is such a great resort, beautiful lake to go boating on, super views and so much to do around the whole Lakeport area. Pros - Nice family owned business - beautiful view of lake - full use private dock for swimming - free resort kayak and boats usage - beautiful view of a bridge train track - great fishing from dock - owners seem to really care about the place and providing a great experience - close to other resorts for day use Cons - the cost of a very clean resort is noisy leaf blower - bring mosquito repellant (most just dusk) - you have to We told them that our child was allergic to dogs and they seem to have made extra effort to clean our cabin before hand. I was looking for a lakeside place but I was having little luck before I found this place. I spoke to Julie over the phone and I knew this was the one. Julie was so friendly and accommodating as well as being most helpful. Upon arrival we met Scott who was just as friendly and accommodating as Julie. This is one of the few places that truly exceeded all our expectations. The grounds are well kept and the scenery is so beautiful and quite tranquil. Our rustic cabin was very clean and cozy. Everything work well and the kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. The main deck is great place for family gathering with awesome views of the lake, BBQ grills, lounge chairs, board games including cornhole, which the whole family really enjoyed. You can paddle around with your choice of a canoe, kayak or paddle boards which are all included and conveniently located on a private dock. We really enjoyed seeing all the wildlife as we paddled and fished around the lake. The bottom line is, you can't go wrong here. The property is amazing, the rooms are clean and comfortable and both Julie and Scott deliver world class service. read more

Im not sure about this resort. Why people give it a high rating? Spent 3 days 2 nights. The cabin that we stayed at had 3 beds but only 1 bathroom. The toilet doesnt flush well. Have to push down really hard or pull from the inside of the tank to flush. Old towels stink like rags. The carpets full of dog hairs!and they claim that their place is clean. They have a pool that is dirty. The only Good side, the kayaks and paddle board are free of use, (part of what you paid for). Beware and take a picture of everything as they might charge you of something broken that is already broken even before you came in and get billed for it. Just speaking based on experience here. Im trying my hardest to be really objective For improvement of service and that atleast customers get what they paid for. read more

I recently had my daughters wedding at Tsasdi resort. Never before have I been around 80-100 people that were all very happy. We did not hear one complaint from anybody who attended the weeding. My husband and I recently got married at Tsasdi Resort. The entire weekend was absolutely perfect and surpassed our expectations. From our short time talking to the owners, Scott and Julie, we knew they would be extremely helpful - but had no idea the extent of this. As a bride, I assumed there would be a lot of stress the day of the wedding, but was blown away by how smooth everything went. Tsasdi's Resort on the shores of Lake Shasta is a true gem. Cabins are clean and cozy with fully equipped kitchens. The grounds are well kept with a relaxing pool area and access to a large, comfortable common deck overlooking the lake. Wonderful docks for boaters. Owners Scott and Julie are most accommodating and bend over backwards to ensure your stay with them is a pleasant one. They make you feel like family. Earlier this month we spent five nights at Tsasdi's during the Delta wildfire incident. Interstate 5 was closed thirty minutes before our arrival so we were turned back and loaded all of our luggage and supplies into our boat at the Jone's Valley ramp and proceeded by water to the resort. Scott met us at the Sugarloaf ramp courtesy dock and transported everything to our cabin. That is going the extra mile! The next day a dozen more classic boats arrived for a planned weekend event and with the road still being closed Scott accommodated everyone as he did us. Days later all had to leave by boat due to the hi-way closure that lasted six days. Again, Scott to the rescue. New to us this year was finding that Scott and Julie acquired "The Bass Hole" restaurant/bar in Lakehead. Great food at reasonable prices and a friendly staff just a short drive away. Check it out. We have reserved our cabin for next year and are looking forward to another enjoyable stay. read more

We came here on our way from the Bay Area with our car packed, ready to make the move to Portland thinking that this was a casino resort and this was the best mistake that I think we've ever made! This resort is absolutely beautiful and the owners are so nice and welcoming and totally family oriented! My boyfriend, our cat and our dog had a fantastic time and the view of the lake was sublime. Really this place is phenomenal and I wish we could have stayed longer so we could enjoy the lake and take their boats out! This place has the worst cancellation policy. The owner is extremely rude, and was screaming at his wife while my husband was on the phone. Do not come here, take your trip somewhere else. The owner before this was so nice and thats why we wanted to come again. Like I said new owner is rude and not helpful. We wanted to cancel and get our refund due to the huge Carr fire and can't get a refund because of their cancellation policy. Back in March when we made our reservation for then my husband had a work accident and hurt himself and we wanted to cancel. The owner refused and forced us to reschedule. It seems all the owner cares about is money and not about providing good customer service. I wish I could give zero stars read more

If you are considering staying here, a few things you should know that had I known, would have changed my reservations to somewhere else: 1. The dock that is so beautifully advertised on website is not there any longer, instead you drive up the hill to Antlers and have your boat slip. The owner comes and finds you at your cabin or elsewhere each day to see if you want to take your boat out of the water because it will "save him $20" 2. The cabins are TINY. We rented cabin 6, I knew it was a 1 bedroom cabin but I asked the guy on phone before booking specifically about the amount of people that can stay in it. This cabin was maybe 300 square feet. Not large enough to stay with your husband, 17 and 10 year old. PLus a dog. UGH 3. The shower was a pole sticking out of wall. No shower head. No water pressure. 4. The bathroom for the cabin is located inside the master bedroom...can you say awkward? 5. Owner is a lurker. He pops up all the time, and usually to remind you of the strict check out policy. He really wants you out on time, I cannot emphasize this enough. 6. Motel 6 offers free ice for it's patrons, but here you will pay $2.75 per bag. 7. Lots of Bees/Yellow Jackets Basically, for the price I paid $220/night, I feel like we were totally ripped off. It should be disclosed there is not a boat slip on the property and the price should be adjusted accordingly. To get to water from cabin is an extremely steep hike. It may have been a different experience had the lake had more water, the boat dock been there or cabin had been a little larger, but I am giving it a 2 star. read more
