Made an unplanned stop here after picking up a rental car (Enterprise next door) one morning. We are not from the area and had never heard of Over Easy, but the place was hopping so we decided to give it a try. Host said 20 minute wait, but we had a great table on the patio within 10. Server was super-friendly and made very-helpful recommendations. We tried the banana-nut French toast and one of the omelette selections. Both were awesome, and came out quickly and accurately. I really want to like Over Easy since it is locally owned and have tried it a few times over the years at different locations and the food quality just isn't there. Both orders of scrambled eggs were way over cooked and should never have made past the pass. The hash brown looked like something from the freezer section at the grocery store as did the chicken sausage. Not sure what they do to the whipped butter but it had a funky taste to it. Overall it was disappointing, as it had been in previous visits. Very friendly and attentive service which was nice. But in the end, you come for the food. Like too many restaurants featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives they seem to lose whatever it was that caught that shows attention and rely far too much on the cachet of the show. We ordered Over Easy for delivery. This was our first time eating here, despite how long we've been driving past. Mr. P was worried about getting cold, soggy food being that the drive was around 10 minutes. I'm happy to report, that wasn't the case. I will say that ordering from a delivery app is a bit confusing, since the menu is quite large, and none of the entrees give you any kind of description or ingredients. I had to switch back and forth between the online menu and the app just to see what I might be ordering. Mr. P wanted some corned beef hash, crispy (and that's an option!), with crispy hash browns, toast and crispy bacon. The hash wasn't crispy, in fact, it didn't look really cooked to me, but he said it was delicious. Everything else was great. I ordered the California omelette, with a side of protein pancakes and quinoa crunch. I took a leap of faith, because I had no idea what that was. The protein pancake is my new favorite thing on the planet. If it can be light, but dense and smooth yet chunky all at the same time, this cake is it. My mouth was so confused, yet delighted. The good-sized cake had nuts and probably other stuff, and was spattered with fresh berries. The best. Ever. I was so full, I saved the quinoa crunch for breakfast today. Holy guacamole! The stuff is pure unicorn magic. Quinoa is skillfully hidden amongst nuts, rolled oats, berries and maple (?). This concoction is a fantastic start to the day! It's like you just got a bowl of chocolate cake. Ok, well, almost. But it's awesome. We were extremely happy with our to-go meal from Over Easy. We went to Over Easy in Mesa yesterday and all I can really say is that for the prices that they charge for breakfast they should at least have a little steam coming off of the food. Let me say that the server was very nice, but the food was terrible. Nice and clean restaurant, but the food was Terrible. Don't waste your time here. Eggs were no more than room temperature. Biscuits and gravy not even room temperature plus they could have been day old biscuits. Hash Browns would have been good except that they were cold. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The first cup of coffee seemed watered down and not hot at all. I do have to add that when waitress refilled coffee was much better. Hopefully this was just a bad day for them, but I will never eat there again. read more

Woke up looking for some good morning eats, having just relocated to Mesa a couple of months ago. Haven't had a chance to explore with all this COVID B.S., so I was certain breakfast joints would be packed. Arrived at Over Easy expecting average fare with a long wait on this fine Saturday morning. Seated instantly outside. Yes everybody is masked until seated and staff is fully masked I judge a breakfast place by the Chicken Fried Steak...I feel it says a lot about the quality standards and freshness or frozeness. I was worried with an average Yelp rating of 3 stars that I was in for average fare. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is a good reason this place was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on Food Network. The Chicken Fried Steak was truly a high quality culinary experience. Fresh, flavorful, light flaky breading...I can't describe it, but it was uniquely satisfying and among the top tier of the dish I've sampled in 49 years of breakfast grubbin'. Sorry I didn't post pics...I cleaned the plate before I had a chance. Choice of potatoes and toast were well rounded and very tasty. Daily fresh jams accompany the toast. I can't speak for the rest of the menu...but the Chicken Fried Steak was definitely awesome. read more

This was our first visit to this location. Great service from Austin. I had the classic Eggs Benedict and lots of coffee. I substituted grits for the potatoes. I appreciated the gourmet version of grits, but I would have preferred plain grits. The Benedict was great, but was served with traditional ham rather than Canadian bacon. My husband ordered protein pancakes with a side of chopped sirloin. He thought he was getting a hamburger patty, but instead he got a bowl of sirloin chunks. Usually, once Guy Fiery visits a restaurant, it gets busy and then completely goes downhill. Have been to a number of places that he's been, and I've found that to be the case more often than not. But not here! I was sad to see the 3.5 stars with 299 reviews, and honestly usually don't eat anyplace with less than 4 stars. I do like the spot , the have really nice patio. However the furniture outside was a bit uncomfortable that kinda was not good idea for hanging out for long . It's crowded and in a same time it's not that crowded to get bother because they have enough space . So perfect place to hang out with friends . The waitress was so nice the only thing that bother me she came with a bill without we asking her or finishing our food , it looked like okey leave now! The food how ever was delicious except the hash brown was a bit uncooked inside. The Mexican burrito was really delicious with the side of fruit. With a bit extra you can order pancakes with your order. The other thing . I don't know why this is rated 3 1/2 stars because it's 5star all the way. I recently took my family there and I had the Wolfpack dish with eggs, hash browns, bacon and I tried the three sauces. I liked the red one the best, but they were all good. My sister and brother-in-law loved their food also so much so, that my brother-in-law wanted to go again today and we went yesterday. We are definitely going to be frequenting it. JFYI my brother-in-law veggie omelette. My sis had scrambled eggs, brioche toast and hash browns and sausage. She loved hers as well. Little breakfast spot along the outter part of superstition springs mall. My family said they had a creative menu and being a person who loves to check out places that were different, this was a must. We were greeted by hostess who was welcoming and very smiley. Seated fairly quickly and greeted by our server within a minute of sitting down. Service overall was pretty good, only complaint was we noticed 2 tables that were sat after us got their food before us. Granted we did have a larger party but one of the parties was also a bigger party so kinda made a few people at our table urked when they noticed that. As for food, I agree the menu was creative. I got the avocado benedict. Healthy option for eggs Benedict, instead of an English muffin they use avocado. The pico serves inside definitely adds flavor. I would get it again. First time here. Quick search on yelp and we found this breakfast spot. First glance and it looks like a fast food spot. It's not. It's a comfy, traditional, sit down spot with great service and even better coffee (press coffee roasters) Our group had French toast, ham steak and an egg white omelette. All the food was great. This may be a good place to eat breakfast. I don't know. I ordered from uber because I work from 10am to 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays. I very rarely order from uber because the food is usually crap by delivery. I am aware of that, so really don't expect much. I ordered from over easy because it is waffle day and I thought that sounded good for an afternoon breakfast. To start with, my job is 2 minutes drive from the cafe, but they kept changing the time from 1:10 to 1:20, and finally got my order at 1:35. My waffle was a cold piece of cardboard, with not even a little warmth in it. The poor little overhard egg was cooked well, but stone cold. The crispy hash browns were just strings of hard cold potato shreds. But the thing that really made me mad was I ordered a tomato juice that cost $4.19, and I didn't even get it. Almost 5 dollars for something that I didn't even get. At least deliver what I order so I can throw away the $30 dollars it cost me for myself. I will never order from them again. I came into Over Easy on Sunday with my Fiancé. It was busy yet the host was super quick and friendly and got us sat right away. She asked us if it was our first time to which we said yes and when our server Mia came around she was ready to go. She told us she heard it was our first time and asked to show us the specials they had going on and tell us a little about the place. She was so attentive the entire time. She checked in on us, she refilled all our drinks without us having to ask. She was smiling and super friendly. Every table I saw her go to she seemed happy and ready to go. When the food came out she asked if there was anything she could grab us to make it better. The food was wonderful, I got the key lime pancake special. Must say the top notch flavor and so worth the suggestion. The wrap was hot and fresh and had good melody of flavor throughout the meal. The power bowl was not great. It was a very small portion for being $15 and was a little quinoa with a few sprigs of greens and a few small bits of sausage and a couple cherry tomatoes. It was also very bland on top of being a tiny amount. Definitely do not order the power bowl if you're actually looking to be nourished and full, you could make a much better one at home. First time at Over Easy. Arrived at 7 on a Thursday morning and was the only customer. In this area, the retirees (there's a lot around here) sleep in. It was bright egg-yolk yellow inside and out, with a big Diner formica Counter. I ordered the Corned Beef Benedict with Hash Browns and water. It came to $12.43 plus tip. As I ate, 2 more folks arrived. My breakfast arrived in 12 mins, a bit slow for the only customer. My Benedict was ample in size and laced with grilled white onions. I love onions but the dish was 50% onion, so I could barely taste the beef. Good idea, poor execution. The hash browns were a course grate and crunchy, just right. The hollandaise was spot on. The service was fine, with a good amount of attention whilst he set up the front of the restaurant. The kitchen crew was pretty loud tho, and due to the silent tv's, was distracting. We come here almost every week, we love the ambiance and how the room is open and cheery. All the servers are great, but especially Chris, he's wonderful with my elderly parents and really attentive to my mother's dietary restrictions.
