I stopped by at 10am for brunch on Fathers Day. I made a reservation on OpenTable, so there was no need to wait. Service was kind of slow, but once I ordered, the food came out quickly. My boyfriend had the bam bam breakfast burrito and I ordered the avocado & sausage skillet. The burrito was very potato forward (not crispy, but seasoned well). I liked my dish, everything in it tasted super fresh. I also enjoyed my chocolate macadamia nut latte. It was plenty sweet even when I asked for half sweet, but I still enjoyed it. The Philz coffee next door is a cute spot to hang out at after a nice meal here. I would return with my dogs and sit in the patio!
I often pass this lively restaurant when going to Philz or Modern Pilates next door and finally tried this cute little brunch spot. Presentation and ambiance is better than the food, but it was still enjoyable. Sausage and Avocado Skillet - filling and soo full of avocado. The tomatoes made for a very saucy skillet and the toast was essential for dipping. Aussie Scramble - basic and haphazard combination of spinach, omelette, tomato sauce (with a cute Australian flag toothpick of course) Blueberry Pancakes - The raspberry sauce saved these thick pancakes for me. Lemon curd tasted like a sugar drizzle sans lemon. Too much food for two people but we couldn't pass on the gorgeous pancakes. Located in a tiny plaza with a parking structure and 2 hour validation. Host was very welcoming and helpful as we struggled to function with self seating.
We came for my birthday brunch and waited about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Once we were seated, they brought out a water bowl for our dog which was nice. Unfortunately, we didn't receive our own water until after our food arrived, and only after we flagged down a server. The bam bam burrito was yummy, especially their sauce. The raging bull skillet was flavorful as well. The medium rare steak was overly chewy for me, felt like chewing gum. My husband enjoyed it though, so it may come down to personal preference.
Great place for brunch with inside and outside seating. Unfortunately, their air conditioning was not working on a humid day and inside seating was very warm. They do have great cocktails and I enjoyed the Bloody Mary and a cold brew coffee . I made reservations, definitely recommended on a weekend and 2 hour parking available in parking garage if you don't find parking in small lot. I ordered avocado toast with 2 eggs (extra cost) that was tasty and would recommend. Good place to try out and friendly staff. I would definitely come back and try their pancakes...they look delicious.
Good spot, I've been here a couple times! Ingredients taste fresh and a good amount of options.

Didn't introduce themselves. Didn't ask if it was first time visiting, no explanation of the menu. Was pretty basic with taking order and checking up once and then the bill. No refill on empty water glasses even though they went to refill other tables. Food was ok at best if that. Presentation / plating was great with its different layers textures and sauces but overall tastes pretty disappointing. Order the Aussie scramble, sad to say best thing on the plate was the toast. The eggs were fluffy but had an off taste, tomato chutney was basically a tomato sauce, spinach leaves on top were ok and the majority were already bruised. Side of bacon extra crispy. The brekky potato lacked crisp and had more of an oily taste like it wasn't a hot enough pan used. The blueberry pancakes seem ok? Lacked the fluffiness and softness. The lemon custard was sweeter than expected but mix with the raspberry sauce provided that acidity needed to break up the sweetness. $53 meal didn't feel worth it. Sad to say should have probably gone somewhere else for better food. Ambiance yes but wouldn't return back for a dining experience.
My bf and I have been to Outpost twice now and loved it both times. We've only been on Saturdays, prob one of their busiest days, but we still managed to get a table without reservation each time. Outdoor seatings are popular and usually very loud if they have large groups, we opted for inside today. Emily was our server, and she was super nice and awesome! Honestly, if people don't come here for the food, I would come here for the service because everyone is so nice! I love their food here, ingredients are fresh and their coffee and matcha are delish! I had my matcha both unsweetened and sweetened a bit and they were so good! We have our favs, like the protein bowl, steak, Super Bowl, avocado toast, and Aussie scramble, which we tried for the first time today just to support Oscar Piastri wining Pole position again in a race (Sprint Qatar today!!). Go Piastri!! My bf and I always make sure we come here for brunch whenever we stay at the Marriott because it's just a short stroll over. Parking can be tough but overall, great spot for food and drinks and hang out with your friends! This and Bluestone are my two fav Aussie spots!
Food was exceptional! Great portions, quality meats cooked properly (medium steak juicy). Don't have corn tortillas only flour. Salmon nice and crisp on outside juicy inside. Blueberry matcha yum.. kinda sweet. Vegan options. Our server was nice .. front door greeters were so so. One had an attitude and one was bubbly. Asked for my ticket validated and no smile or response just grabbed ticket.. goes a long way. Parking can be tough but have a free lot for 2 hrs validated. Ambiance is fine.. up against a parking lot but indoor outdoor area. Cute bar and disco theme tile bathroom.

In the same plaza as Philz Coffee right across South Coast Plaza! There are several parking spots right in front or you can park in the adjacent parking structure & get your ticket validated for the first 2 hours! Ordered the skillet + blueberry pancakes. Server was kind (Maddie) and will come again to try other menu items!
Parking is limited outside, but you can park in the parking structure (2-hour validation is provided by the restaurant). The place gets really packed for brunch, so expect a wait. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but it can get crowded when walking through tables. I ordered the Aussie Scramble and it was really good! The toast was super tasty, with it being well-toasted and not too hard to bite. The eggs, spinach, and avocado were all delicious and well-seasoned together. Outpost kitchen is located near south coast plaza mall. It's on the bottom floor of a building with a private lot and I do believe they validate. They're Australian themed, but it was pretty much healthy western/ American breakfast offerings. Maybe I didn't have very high hopes of living this place because we only chose to come here out of convenience, but I'm so glad we dined here! Everything was so good and I'd come back for sure! We made a reservation on open table which was easy and efficient. I like that you could choose outside or inside, because both seating areas are nice, but it was a little chilly the day we went, so we decided to sit inside. The hostess was nice and friendly and our server was great. The inside is nicely decorated. Very modern and chic. They have a variety of drinks: coffee, tea, smoothies, juices and cocktails. My dad has his coffee refilled and the servers were all very nice and attentive. We ordered the date mate salad, the blueberry pancakes and the eggs, sausage and avocado skillet. Everything was so delicious. I don't even like pancakes normally, and gluten free pancakes are even more of a turn off for me, but I saw a table next to us had it and they looked good so we ordered it. They weren't necessarily fluffy or cakey, but I wasn't mad. The combination of blueberry and lemon sauce and pistachios was exquisite. For $16 for two pancakes (or $20 for 4), it's a little on the pricey side, but I'd come back for these! The date mate salad was also surprisingly good. It had a LOT of chicken. Chicken was alright, but the combo of herby greens, lemon vinaigrette, goat cheese crumbles and dates was amazing. I'm going to try to make this at home. The skillet had a lot of avocado and Hungarian sausage. The tasted bread that came with it was a perfect addition. I liked the tomato saucey eggs. They tasted spiced, but I'm not sure which spices were used. It was good though! Outpost kitchen is a great place for brunch if that's what you're looking for!
Absolutely loved this place! Outpost Kitchen ended up being one of our favorite stops of the whole trip. The vibe is bright, modern, and energetic without feeling chaotic, just a really happy place to sit down and enjoy a meal. We sat outside (November) and it was perfect. The coffee drinks? Incredible. Cocktails? Even better. You can tell they take their beverage game seriously because everything came out balanced, flavorful, and beautifully made. And the food..AMAZING. Fresh, flavorful, and presented like something off a brunch magazine cover. Every plate we saw looked good, and everything we ordered tasted even better. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was great, 100% recommend, good for families, girlfriend get together etc.

My cousin and I were looking for a nice brunch spot near South Coast Plaza, so we checked out Outpost! First off, the ambience is perfect for a weekend brunch date, and they have a variety of food and drinks to order - it was a very difficult deliberation - but we went for the Blueberry Pancakes and Red Rock Eggs. I was excited cause I knew their pancakes were GF, and honestly fell in love the moment I had it because the texture was soft and spongy (personally I prefer GF to regular pancakes) and the blueberry puree worked really well with the pancakes with its tangy sweetness. The Red Rock Eggs had a perfect combination of ingredients but the actual taste was different from what I expected; it was a little more on the bland side as the eggs, potatoes, and chorizo didn't taste too different from each other and the arugula was on the bitter side. It wasn't bad but I do think it has potential to be more savory/spicy and could be amazing with a little more seasoning. However, we still had a good meal and service was super nice as well, so I hope to come back again! read more

The food was really tasty and fresh, the server told us that none of their ingredients are frozen because they get all of them shipped in the morning of. The nutella pancakes were delicious and the poke bowl was really good! Great spot for a casual weekend brunch or lunch. Definitely will be coming back! read more
My sister took me here when I was down visiting her in the OC area and everything was phenomenal! The aesthetic was very cute and I ordered a Bam Bam Burrito while she got the Pistachio granola. Mine came with pickled radishes which probably weren't picked for too long but the inside of the burrito was good and the hot sauce was a little too spicy for me to use all of. My sister likes to get the granola sold individually in packets here since it's one of her favorites. We also ordered a hot chocolate for her and an iced oatmilk lavender latte which had the tiny cubes and tasted really good! I checked in and got a 10% discount off Yelp too which was nice and our server was kind and attentive. Loved this place and would be happy to come back again to try something else next time I'm in the OC area visiting her again! read more

I was really surprised but we just had a really off and weird experience at this place today. Came in around late 12 ish and it seemed like the tail end of the busy lunch time. After we got seated, we were promptly setup with water and it went all down hill from there. We waited and waited for someone to help us with ordering so I ended up having to flag down a waitress. After she took our order she left and never helped us again. She seemed to be doing drinks and other various tasks. Our food came and it was pretty good I'd say. The missus liked her Hawaiian bowl and my steak went well with the salsa sauce on the side. We had ordered a sausage on the side too but it never came so I had to flag someone down again to check on it. But we never got an update on it. Was it ordered? Did they miss it? Fine. If it doesn't show up on the bill no harm no foul. Once again, had to flag someone down again to get the bill. The bill came and the sausage was on there. Flagging someone down again so we can tell them the situation and have it removed. The person said they would let their manager know. She was quite nice about it. The manager came with the final total and said it was removed. Nothing else said. It felt like it was our mistake or something. This whole experience was just us having to chase down servers so we can get what we needed. Not once did someone stop by and check on us or even be in our area. At first I assumed it was because they were busy and understaffed but after the crowd died down, they were mostly just doing various tasks and shuffling around. It felt more like a fast casual experience rather than sit down restaurant with service. It was essentially non existent. read more

The customer service was excellent, the restaurant is in a cool location. The parking was easy and there was plenty since it was a Monday morning. I got the steak, I got the deliver eggs, I got the teriyaki skewers. The food was okay. But the fact that there are 5 different beers I asked for that weren't on tap was insane. So the $100 plus tab didn't feel like it had value, update your menu or stock up your beer. I was so excited to pick this place for brunch with my wife, but to be honest I left disappointed. read more

LOVED brunch at Outpost! The food is so good and very Instagram-able. Great atmosphere with friendly servers. Trendy vibes but they still had a kids menu. 6 yo got chocolate chip pancakes. 8 yo got the poke bowl (modified). Husband and I got the Ribeye & eggs and the Raging Bull Skillet with flat whites for coffee. There was not a single bite left on any of our plates! Yum! read more

Came here to enjoy brunch/lunch w momma friends. We were in the Costa Mesa area and a friend requested we do brunch. Monday afternoon 3.20.23 Check Yelp & This looked like an absolute place to go dine at. It's located on 1st floor of a business building. Definitely was an upscale modern looking restaurant. Love their espresso machine and their beautiful glass decor bar on the wall.. What we ordered: ~ Brekky Toasted Sandwich $ 15. My choice And mee girlfriend spilt the Sandwich. The egg yolk & the bbq sauce on the sandwich made it really delicious. My friend who ordered the Bam Bam burrito said my sandwich was better. Definitely a must! ~ Bam Bam Chorizo Potato Burrito $ 17. It was alright. Not my cup of tea. Too much potatoes in it and a bit bland in my opinion. It did come w hot sauce but still didn't really make a difference. ~ Real Avocado Toast $ 15 is so yummy. The red pepper sauce spread on the bread so delicious. Gave it a bit of spice kick. Had some mint was different along w Asian greens. Enjoyed the grape tomatoes sliced on the side of board. Nice lunch spot that we enjoyed with another couple. Parking was a little tricky as you turn into the wrong shopping center easily. No issues finding a spot once we got into the right center. Kingswood sandwich was good. Plant based sausage was a fail. Blueberry pancakes were too gritty for my taste. read more

We ordered the Turkey Avocado Sandwich, Maui Bowl, Bangers & Smash, and Aussie Scramble. Out of the 4 items, Bangers & Smash was the favorite. It had BBQ Hungarian Sausage, English Pea Pancake, Smoked Cheddar Smash... making it the most unique and interesting dish. Everything else was just so-so. There was spinach included with two of the dishes that had no dressing. It would have been a lot better if it wasn't just plain, raw spinach thrown on the dish's side. Located across from South Coast Plaza on the ground floor of an office building. Next to Philz Coffee. Parking and access to the lot isn't the best, but there's also a structure you can park in if the little lot is full. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bar, communal high top, and regular tables. Fast and friendly service! HH from 3-6 Wed-Sun. We took advantage on a Fri and shared the following: chicken skewers, hummus and meatballs (comes with bread), and mac. The mac was not on the HH menu. Two cocktails as well. The drinks were very colorful and thoughtfully crafted. Everything was great, although neither of us would consider ourselves full after spending $60 or so total (including tax and tip). Given those were supposed to be "deals," I'd say value isn't there at all. read more

Their steak and eggs is prolly the best American rendition I've had at any brunch place (Granted the other place was so terrible we've been scarred from ordering at others) $55 (including tax and tip) for steak and eggs + 2 stack pancake. Just feel for this price, two ppl would be satiated. We were not. Id come here again, not order the $28 steak and hope the other items are great. ============ Not sure how much a 2-pancake dish was, but for gluten-free, it was all right. It was on the doughy side and not pillowy. Pretty dish with the cream, dates, and nuts. Does need more nuts tho. Steak and eggs Tender and flavourful, from the tomatoes to the chunks of potato and the eggs and greens with avocado. The bread was chewy and crisp, but with too much butter spread and I like butter. Weather Lots of umbrellas outside, but we were pretty much sitting in front of a heater aka tbe sun since the umbrellas can only be moved so much lol Value The items on the menu are relatively pricey, $18 for a breakfast burrito..must be the rent being next to south coast. We visited for brunch while in town for a baby shower. The food was all fresh and organic. We had the Brekky Sandwich and Post Wrap. Recommend the pickled onions with the Post Wrap to bring it to that next level! No brunch is complete without a few beverages like the Howling Wolf Bloody! We also had fresh juice and iced coffee. Great spot to visit and prices are reasonable for the quality of food. Service was also excellent! read more

Delightful brunch with great lighting and cozy ambiance! Came here with my mom before a day of shopping, and it was just a fantastic brunch place. We were seated right away! Going at 10am wasn't super busy. The lavender latte really gave the brunch a running start! Light and gentle aroma without being too sweet. We ordered a steak skillet and the avocado toast and both were superb! The skillet had a wonderful balance of greens and protein with eggs cooked to sunny side up perfection as I like it. The avocado toast was fresh, with the "crackle" that Ratatouille taught me indicated freshness in bread form. Haha but seriously it was very good, simply put. Our server was helpful in making decisions and always ready to help provide for us. Will definitely want to come back next time I'm shopping there!! Parking is easy. There's a parking structure that takes validation I think, but I went on Sunday and it was all free. read more

Young and professional eatery. Food is also great and service is amazing. Plenty of outdoor sitting with the California sun. Of the two dishes the salmon and shrimp Benedict was my favorite. Curious to try the Protein bowl the next time out here. Please try this restaurant. It's right across South coast plaza so perfect spot for brunch and some girl shopping. Plenty of parking with a structure close. Restaurant does provide validations. read more
Whenever I'm in town I like stopping by here for lunch. I've introduced several coworkers and o this place on work trips, and they have been pleasantly surprised! Not your average cafe! Definitely a bit more upscale, and worth it, in my opinion. The food is fresh and the restaurant is really cute and modern. Also, on a sunny day they have a great patio to sit on. I love their breakfast wraps, although my coworkers tried a sandwich and a salad, and they were all fantastic. I like my chai oat latte but it was probably it steamed long enough because it came out on the cold side. The service was also a bit slow, but the staff was polite and friendly! I ordered the french toast and wrap, they were super delicious! The french toast has a crunchy crust and soft inner center. The fruits that came with it were sweet and paired great! I also had millionaires bacon on the side, one of my absolute favorites. The flavor of the bacon always hits. The service was quick, got my food almost immediately after ordering!! Servers were friendly as well. Sat outside and the weather was great! It wasn't too busy either. The seating is plentiful and not cramped at all. read more

Such a cute spot for brunch with a GF! The food is tasty + the service is friendly :-) We got the Outpost Super Bowl, Pumpkin Pancakes, and a couple delicious coffee drinks. The Bowl exceeded my expectations- perfectly dressed with a nice combination of flavors - loved the pickled onion! We initially couldn't decide between the pumpkin or the blueberry pancakes but were very pleased with the pumpkin (but also can't wait to come back for the blueberry!) Super fun that they have "coffee with a kick"- essentially yummy coffee drinks with a bit of liquor =P This meal had me craving fluffy pancakes all week! read more
