Other favorites from the menu includes prime brisket $19/half pound and pork belly burnt ends $19/half pound. I was not impressed with the $7 Texas Twinkie, a jumbo jalapeno stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon. On the contrary, one of our friends dreams about it. They have lots of sides to pick from and they give you a small container that you can fill up (not weighed). Desserts are free and self-serve for those dining in, options include peach cobbler, banana pudding and vanilla and chocolate soft serve. This place is popular, but the lines move fast and there is plenty of seating. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

I chose the rings and was given a number to keep on my tray so they could bring them out to me when they were ready. Then you pay. They also serve soda and alcoholic beverages but you get them at the bar. There is a place to get bbq sauce mild or spicy and if you're eating g in you can get pinto beans as well Everything we ate was delicious. Would definitely return, so many other items to try!!

Four stars only as compared to other Dallas BBQ joints - five star anywhere outside of Texas. Ribs and Jalapeño Sausage were perfect - great spice in the sausage. If you're making the BBQ rounds and find yourself near Roanoke then Hard Eight should be on the list.

And great people to add to the service and ambiance. This time we had the (1) Texas Strip steak, amazing baked potato and veggies. Dessert: American hot apple pie and vanilla ice cream on a skillet, with some amazing sauce drizzled over table side. See the photos for that steamy concoction of flavor party! I was originally planning to go to another famous burger place in town, but this American food…read morerestaurant looked and sounded really good from the photos and menu and was close to my hotel. I visited during lunch so I took advantage of the lunch burger special for $3 off. Horizon 76 turned out to be good for another entree I was craving 2 days later, so I returned a 2nd time. They sat us in the same table unknowingly and I even sat in the same seat. We also had the same waiter and he of course remembered us and our drink order from last time. How's that for customer service? On my first visit I ordered a tea and original horizon burger and added a cup of chili, which isn't really listed on the menu but they can addit to your burger for a few dollars more. I had wanted to try the bone-in burger, but they don't offer it anymore. My friend who lives in Ft Worth had not heard of this place that opened around 2020, but then again he doesn't get out much. Burger - this is a very good burger and I would put it up against the best burgers in town. I don't live here, but I bet it would be in the top 3 for any burger enthusiast that likes thick burgers. The sweet sourdough bun really makes this taste even better, not to mention when you have steak blends in your patty, it elevates it quite a bit. Fries - I've had several duck fries around the country and these were not that good. Not much seasoning at all. Tasted like typical frozen breaded fries flash fried in duck fat. Side of chili - small amounts of anything are usually tasty, this chili is no exception. Filled with beans and comes in like a shot glass. They don't give you much as a side. I guess they prefer you to order the $16 chili entree. On my second visit, my buddy and I were craving a good chicken fried steak. We decided to visit here since you rarely see filet / tenderloin as the protein in CFS, plus knowing the burger was awesome, we figured the CFS was probably good too. For my sides, I chose grilled veggies and loaded baked potato. CFS - This was a good version but I didn't really like the breading due to its color and high flour content. I prefer a darker greasier one. The meat was what I came for mainly and it was really good tenderloin pounded pretty dang thin. Not overly breaded, surprisingly. The veggie medley is truly a mix of about 8 different veggies, which you rarely see. Most grilled veggie sides are 3-4 at most. Overall, my best friend was super impressed and now he wants to return to their BBQ restaurant next door. I was also impressed, but I would come back for a burger or another entree next time.

You actually pick up a bowl and get your own sides except fries/okra. Those two items they will bring out to your table. Burnt ends are served on Mondays and Saturday so of course I chose burnt ends and two sides. It was a generous portion of meat and I selected okra and green beans. The burnt ends were covered in sauce, which was really good with just a touch of spice. The green beans were seasoned so well with some sort of pork. The okra was amazing! Lightly breaded spices were perfect really really tasty. The staff were pleasant. The music was at the right level and you could sing along to old country tunes. Plenty of space especially for large parties.

THIS place contends with the best of them! One thing we noted is that some places grill one meat well, but the rest are just okay. For example, good ribs and so-so brisket. That's not the case here! Everything we tried was incredibly tender! It's still tender despite warming it up the next day! There are ample sides. We tried macaroni and cheese and fried okra. Both were good. Service was friendly and explained some of the menu options well. Ordering was quick, and food was brought out quickly. Food - Overall if you compare this to most TX BBQ places, the flavors here are more reminiscent of Backyard BBQ. You're not going to find intensely smokey flavors, or Michelin rated BBQ...which is not a bad thing.... For the area, the value - pricing is fair, and quality (Brisket was pretty tender for Lean, Ribs were flavorful) it's a 5* through and through. But it won't be "Competition" esque. Example, the ribs are very tasty, but somewhat fall of the bone - they don't have the bite of a top top spot. If you want flavorful barbecue with a good menu, seasoned well, and good service JJs is solid. The area lacks barbecue and this is a good intro into the area where they're way too many chains. Would recommend stopping by!
