Very friendly people! Food was great! Large portions. Love the atmosphere. The fried Mac n cheese was amazing.

Great atmosphere and service. Pork ribs were great. I love their other location across, which has burgers. I was disappointed with the brisket. Too much pepper for my taste and not enough flavors. Also a bit too dry. This could be a great place if their briskets would be better. I will come back if they change it, since it would be closer than the Feed Store. read more

Our first time here for dinner. My husband ordered the two meat (brisket and jalapeno cheese sausage) two sides (onion rings and corn) combo with an armadillo egg. I ordered jalapeno cheddar sausage and onion rings. Sausage, armadillo egg, and onion rings were good but cold. Brisket was cold, and the top layer was salty. Bread was good. read more

If you want to hear the owner boast about how great his methods are and how ignorant everyone else is, instead of asking his customers for feedback or just observing what his customers are eating and what is being left on their plates then you should def eat here. We tried the sliced brisket, Turkey & pork ribs. The meat was saturated in black pepper & looked like it was sliced with a plastic butter knife. The sides we had were green beans, pinto beans, fried okra & potato salad. The potato's were raw, the green beans were chopped too small and over cooked & the pinto beans tasted like something out of a can. We could've overlooked some of this, but having to sit and listen to the owner talking from a few tables away about how great his product is when we would have loved to give him some honest constructive feedback led me here. read more

The food is good. Just get there early are they may be out of what you want. We have been there several times.

Amazing BBQ spot, the meat all comes from their local farm and they have some of the rarest cuts of Waygu (F2 Female Waygu Cow) which they directly bred with American Angus from real Japanese Cows. They treat you like family and will sometimes even give me samples to try. Not to mention Chef Dwight is an amazing guy to chat with, and you can tell he is really passionate about his craft and making sure people eat quality food. This is arguably better than Terry Black's Barbecue as well as the other big BBQ places that Texas is famous for. read more

They are very stingy with their sides. The food tastes good but it is very peppery. I would not recommend this restaurant especially if you are going with kids or do not care for peppered BBQ read more

Place is nice inside, and food was good. However, was very pricey in my opinion--$5 for corn on the cob? Diet soda had an aftertaste. Staff was friendly, and in abundance read more

Ya know, I read all the reviews and then dove in. This place is five star, hands down. The staff is outstanding, the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect right down to the live feed of the smokers. Yes, they smoke there own meats right there. The brisket is moist and packet with flavor. The armadillo eggs are huge an cooked to perfection. The bar drinks are spot on. I will be back, no question. read more

Great bbq, I had the sliced brisket and it was very moist and tender. Had the pinto beans and homemade chips that very very good. Will definitely go back! read more

The meat does not have a smoked flavor at all so that as disappointing. It wasn't bad but don't claim Texas bbq and not have a smoke flavor! The sides were fair except the potatoe salad which was so amazing! Overall disappointing read more

OH MY GOSH you must come here! So so good! We are such fans of Horizon 76 and now adding Outpost 36 to it! The brisket was probably the best brisket I've ever had. The sides, we sampled almost all of them, were all equally delicious, our favorite being the pinto beans. The pulled pork was better than anything I've had in the DFW area to date. The one thing we didn't try was dessert, but there's always next time!! Not to mention everyone there was incredibly friendly and our food came out faster than we could get drinks and sit down!! Kudos on the Texas Country playing on the radio as well, had us all singing at the table read more

Our new favorite! The best BBQ and the sides are also great! Customer service is great. Will recommend highly!

Melt in my mouth food. Found me a new favorite! Brisket is top notch. Everything we had was amazing. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Finally ate here - Ordered a bunch of options. Sliced Brisket, Chopped Brisket, Turkey, Sausage, Beef Ribs, Beans, Onion Rings, Potato Salad. I've got to say the Beef Ribs were amazing - and that is why I came on a Saturday. The sliced brisket, was OK, but had way too much fat which adds a lot to the weight as they don't separate the point and flat - which is CRAZY and stupid (see pic - at least double the weight and shouldn't be). The chopped was very dry - which should be the juiciest - but as I said they aren't separating the two types of meat. The pinto beans are not good - way too squishy, the potato salad is very good as are the Onion rings, Turkey and Sausage. All in all good, but they have to get this brisket figured out and the cost the fat is including is ridiculous. read more

The food is absolutely delicious. Great service every time and chef Dwight and Sam are always kind, making sure customers are satisfied and taken care of. You can never go wrong with the pulled pork, the turkey, or the chopped brisket. read more

great bbq, Pork ribs and brisket are excellent. Sides are tasty! potato salad and pinto beans exceptional. Banana pudding is a treat.

Amazing food. Amazing service. Great staff. First time trying this place. Was in town from CA and very glad my co-worker recommended I try armadillo balls. Quick search and this place showed up. 10/10. read more

Discovered by accident. What we discovered was wonderful food! Wonderful atmosphere! Friendly service! Simply the best BBQ around!

Brand new Barbecue place. Best in the Entire DFW Area! Everything I ordered was so good. I highly recommend!

First time visit. Was really looking forward to the pork ribs. Thoroughly disappointed. They must have trimmed the ribs to use the meat elsewhere. I have never seen pork ribs with so little meat. The little bit on the bone was very tasty. The amount of meat on the rib was ridiculously small. The rest of the meal was very good. If I go back again it will not be for pork ribs. read more

Food was excellent, tasted amazing, the service was fantastic, everyone was super friendly, price for a family of four was very good. Super relaxed atmosphere, lots of tables and space. Will be going back again for sure! , read more

Head Chef Dwight hit it out of the park with his restaurant, Outpost 36. Every single meat entree (Dino Beef Ribs, Smoked Filet Mignon, Bacon Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork and Prime Brisket) was superb and juicy, including their sides (especially their beef tallow French fries and Cole slaw). The service was more on par than any bbq restaurant I've been at and everyone was super respectful and knowledgeable about the meat selections including Michael. And the ambiance was homey, fun to eat in and there were a couple of spots for Instagram worthy pictures, including a spot to win a $50 gift card if they liked your photo on IG and they included signs. To be honest, Chef Dwight came around to each table to see how everyone was doing and if the meats came out well. When I told him everything was even better than Heim and Hurtado.. but the bacon burnt ends were kinda lukewarm, he brought out freshly cooked ones that he had just made and they were perfect in flavor and temperature. We live in Arlington and we will definitely be back to eat here again. Thanks Chef Dwight, Michael and the rest of the crew! read more

One of the best BBQ restaurants in our area. They raise their own beef. Brisket was awesome!

Chef Dwight has outdone himself with this craft BBQ greatness. Brought a coworker from LA in for lunch this week and Chef hooked us up with moist brisket (melt in your mouth) medium rare tenderloin (best filet I've ever had, it's usually tasteless, not here) pork belly burnt ends (meat candy) moist turkey breast (not dried out and picked the smoke flavor, I shit you not!) All the sides were terrific as well. The prices are very much in line for the prime quality you are getting here. read more

Got the beef rib and brisket with fried okra and potato salad. Everything was excellent.

Showed up and waited in line for 10 minutes to be told "just so you know we are out of banana pudding (on free banana pudding night) and burnt ends we are running low on brisket. We are also going to take a short break on orders because we are 6 behind. Also just so you know we close at 8." No one was moving in the back. The 5 people in the back were standing there looking at the line. Would not recommend. read more

Ate here for lunch today. First, you have to wait in line to order your food with a server before you get to walk up and pay at the register. The menu is more than 8 ft away above the register. We were not offered a menu. We ordered a combo that contained 2 slices of brisket, 1 rib, 2 sausages, slice of bread and your choice of one side. We got the pinto beans, the container was half juice & half beans. We also ordered another side, fried okra that was way too salty. We asked for another okra, it came undercooked and still very salty. The table next to was complaining that their say fried jalapeños were too salty to eat as well. It seemed that the salt was in the coating. The brisket is good. My husband said that the rib was average and the sausage not worth eating. They have 3 kind of BBQ sauces to choose from. Not sure that we will be back. We paid $56 that included two drinks. read more

Went to Outpost 36 Texas BBQ for the first time on October 1, 2023. The first thing we noticed was the update on the entire building from the old Golden Corral that used to occupy the building. It looked really nice. There are two party rooms available and an outdoor patio in the back, away from all the noise on 377. We were met at the entrance by the manager, owner, or the chief we weren't quite sure of his title. He was very friendly. He explained the menu and gave us a free sample of an onion ring when I questioned whether they were onion strings or onion rings. They are rings. Wow what flavor! Not your typical oily onion ring they were made just right. The staff was very friendly, and our food came out very quickly. I had the Brisket and sausage while my wife had the baked potato with brisket. The Brisket was very tender, and the sausage had a great taste. My wife loved her baked potato, and the portions were large enough we had enough to take home a small plate. On the way out I overheard the employee who greeted us at the door, explaining to another customer that they were planning on a meat market section inside the restaurant to pick up meat to go. We will be back. read more

Very good food and service. This is now our favorite bbq location in the area. They have libations including a whiskey slush.

This place is amazing!!! The barbecue is delicious, the menu is varied, and I haven't found a single thing on it my family hasn't adored. The brisket and the burnt ends should not be missed. read more

We had brisket, burnt ends and sausage, all 3 meats were very good. Mac n cheese, potato salad, and onion rings were amazing! Great seating selection indoor and a great outdoor patio! Staff were super friendly and personable. Great job Outpost 36! read more

So good! Love the fresh pickles and all of the sides! I usually opt for the Turkey but my husband said it was all delicious

I would have never believed that any BBQ restaurant could be as good as 407 BBQ in Argyle, TX, but I was wrong. Outpost 36 in Keller is as good and in some ways better. The service is outstanding and the workers are courteous and friendly. We are so pleased we don't have to drive all the way to Argyle just for some good BBQ. The side portions are even larger at Outpost 36. Although, the prices are comparable, but really not if you consider the time and gas it takes to go to Argyle. We pay less at Outpost 36. The location is great and everything is newly remodeled from the old Golden Corral that was once there. I hope you give this local business a chance to survive, where so many haven't. read more

First time here and will be back! Didn't know what a bacon burnt end was, so the server put on gloves and gave us both a sample! Highly recommend! Smoked tenderloin was very flavorful as was the brisket. Mac and cheese was ah-maze-ing. Thoroughly enjoyed and bought some to go. Will definitely be back! read more

If you want some of the best barbecue around this is your place the portions are amazing for the cost you will go home with leftovers! The smoke on the meat is amazing and not over powering and has a nice smoke ring on the brisket the pork is moist and flavorful with spices and smoke. the side portions on the meal were huge and delicious the potato salad and Mac and cheese should stop you in your tracks to try. The owner Dwight even cam by to check on us and went above and beyond on the service! He truly cares about your experience and meal it is well worth the stop! read more

Yum. Better than the typical bbq around the area. The fried pies are fantastic. We will be coming back!

This place is a 5 star all around. Their dishes of meats are so tender and tasty. Their sides are a good size and very tasty. The Mac n cheese is awesome. The Pitmaster Chef even came over to our table to talk to us. We will definitely be back on a Tuesday to try the banana pudding. We're very fussy about our food and this place Did Not disappoint. read more
