Cesar is the real deal…read more What started as a straightforward quick fix turned into a 3+ odyssey into why my drip irrigation wasn't working. Cesar and his team managed to find and fix everything wrong with the system: - Rewired my entire Rachio controller. The original installers had left behind what can only be described as a rat's nest of wiring. Caesar sorted it into something clean and actually traceable. - Replaced a failing valve that had been quietly wasting water, sputtering instead of shutting off properly. - Ran an entirely new line under the house to restore power to the back valve, since the old wire was not only broken but buried three feet down under turf and tarp aka basically unreachable for any future repair. He's a genuine jack of all trades and what impressed me most was that he didn't stop at the easy fix. He treated the whole system like it needed to actually work long-term vs. limping along until the next breakdown. Thanks to his work, if anything goes wrong down the line, it'll actually be possible to find and fix it - which, after seeing how the system was originally installed, feels like a minor miracle. Highly recommend Caesar for anyone whose irrigation system was "installed" rather than engineered. Worth every minute of that 3-hour odyssey.

My wife and I recently chose Joel to complete a long overdue landscaping project for our front and…read moreback yard and we are beyond happy with the result. Our project consisted of pouring 2 concrete slabs (1 along the side of the house and a second in the backyard), planting a boarder trim, and installing sprinkler systems in our back and front yard. Joel and crew completed all parts of this project with attention to detail and communicated effectively throughout. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shout out to the team lead managing the concrete part of our project. His attention to detail in recommending ideal drain setups in the sections where water had pooled in the past are exactly why we went Joel - we want to do things right the first time. After chatting with Joel, we installed the recommended drains, preventing a potentially expensive fix down the road. The rest of the project was completed with professionalism and Joel was great in communicating and working with our needs. Our one constructive feedback is that we did not receive a mock-up of the project before work was underway. We had a few last minute changes (the width of the trim around the backyard and the size of the mulch area in the front yard), but Joel & team communicated effectively and worked with us to make sure our needs were taken care of. All in all, we are so happy with our completed project. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and our new back/front yard makes us confident that we made the correct choice in choosing Joel for our project. Thank you!

BRING ON THE SUPER EL NINO!…read more Joel and Sons recently completed a much overdue project at our home. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. I am so impressed by Joel and Sons, and I will call them again for future projects. More importantly, I will make referrals to my family and friends.

Krystal, Jesus, and all their staff really provide professional, quality service and care for our yard and irrigation needs. We initially got started with them for a total clear out and clean up of our existing landscape and ended up sticking with them for weekly maintenance services and little projects here and there and have never looked back! Anytime there are issues, they are on it!! Today was another example - I asked Steve if he would just check up on my back sprinklers bc I noticed they didn't run Monday and when he did, he found a HUGE leak in one of our main irrigation pipes! Our house is kind of old and starting to need a lot of repairs so I wasn't completely surprised but the leak was pretty big. We had to turn off all the water to the house and wait for them to get one of their irrigation and plumbing experts over. Richard showed up almost immediately and had us all cleaned up and back in business in no time!! He even hung around to make sure all the leaking stopped etc. I was blown away - I figured I'd need to call a plumber and go through all that nightmare but no!! Grow Control took such good care of us! And this is the level of care and service we've received since day one! They're so fantastic- really takes a load of stress off my mind. They're caring, reliable, excellent at what they do, and very reasonably priced. We're still planning on completely redoing our yard - switching to all native plants - and when we do, it'll be the Grow Control team we trust for sure! THANK YOU everyone at Grow Control for all the years of TLC in our yard!

The process started with discussing the grass removal, then the kind of plants and plant placement, the irrigation and groundcover. Randy has been patient in answering all my questions. He also tried to work within my budget and made sure we finished the project in time to meet the deadline for submission of my rebate application with DWP. it was clear that Randy loves what he is doing. In spite of the heatwave at the time he did the project, he did the work himself and personally installed the drip irrigation. He was patient and cool. He gave me instructions on how often to water, how to set the timer, how to check if the plants are getting enough water. Even when the project was finished, he was reachable by phone or by email and patiently answered my questions. He came to look at the plants and checked if the drip was working properly. He also explained to me how the drip irrigation works, how and when to prune and which plants to prune. I now have a yard that I am confident will be filled with blooms come Spring and at the same time not water thirsty. My lawn that used to consume a lot of precious water is now waterwise. Thanks to Randy in making the process not only possible but enjoyable.
