My whole family & I love to visit breweries when we are in different areas. This one did not disappoint. We sat at a table. You can see in the photo they have a big bar. There was as stage. They must get entertainment. Plenty of seating. Our server was excellent. Wish I remembered her name. A few of us got flights of the craft beer. 4 samples in a flight. From the time we arrived we knew we were in the right spot. Lots of cars in the parking lot. Our hostess told us it would be a 45 minute wait, but there was a park in the back with live music, a drink station, and a playground for our grandkids. The park was delightful and the 30 minutes we waited flew by watching our grandkids play on a pirate ship. Once seated, our waitresses (Britney & Carly) took our drink order and promptly returned. We ordered appetizers, which were served quickly. The IPAs we tried were yummy! Our appetizers were devoured, which means they were delicious. We had fried oysters, calamari, a soft pretzel, and hush puppies. I recommend them ALL. The entrees came out quickly and spot on. The fish and chips were delicious. My wife loved the cuban sandwich. We came here twice in two days. On the first night my husband and I were looking for some adult fun and this was just a few minutes from our hotel. He got two beers - both were great. I ordered two glasses of wine - again, great! The bartender explained the taste of each local beer to my husband to help him choose which one to get and we left having a great local experience. The next day we came back because there was live music and a small play area for children. The wait was long - about an hour - but we didn't mind because the musical performance was great and our kids were having a great time. Well, the food and service are always stellar! This post is about how the staff went above and beyond to show their appreciation for the military and to accommodate their guests. A difficult guest got pretty aggressive with the outside bartenders regarding the tattered American flag that was on the flagpole. They remained professional and directed him to talk with the manager who was inside. The patron made contact with the manager, and she resolved the issue in about 15 min. That's lowering of the tattered flag, staff going to get a new American flag off premise and hoisting the new flag. During this time period, the restaurant inside and outside was swamped. As a veteran, I was impressed with how the staff handled the situation and my personal appreciation to Diana, the manager, for her quick response. She explained that the tattered flags are retired multiple times a year because of the harsh exposure to the elements. They are also burned to honor the flag's retirement. read more

The place is absolutely gorgeous outside. We went on a Wednesday night, to enjoy the band, and the atmosphere was great. Ample outdoor picnic bench seating, cornhole, dining tables, lots of lawn space for a blanket, and a fun playground ship for kids to play on-all among beautiful garden flower patches... Came in on Monday night to watch football and immediately had a bartender with "attitude." Drinks he made were subpar. Ordered a painkiller and couldn't taste any alcohol . Beer is good.... female bartender was very good (sorry but can't remember her name), but the bald bartender was very rude from the minute we walked in! When we asked when bar was closing, he said now because "no one" was here! Sorry, but I am a "someone" and he was very prejudice against me because I am a conservative and he found that out while I was there. We came for a brewery tour. The stout was short as they are a smaller brewery, but the flight at the end was really nice! We got to try some beers and ask questions about the brewing process! It was also nice to meet other people on the tour and compare thoughts of the brews! Beautiful day, went to hang out in the backyard with hopes of sitting at the bar. There were a couple of empty seats next to some folks (at the bar!) with a crying baby and a stroller and a grandmother who had a seat on the other side of the bar. Total bar seats were 6, this family occupied 4 (but the grandmother had a seat (one of two) on side of the bar away from the baby. Management did not/would not ask her to move. Me and my friend came in to start off our first night ever coming to OBX. To celebrate we wanted to take shots to get the night started. After the first shot we asked for another round and after about 10 to 15 minutes, we asked a different bartender for help. After another 10 minutes, a different bartender came up to us and finally served us our round that we asked for 30 minutes ago. As soon as the original bartender noticed that we finally got our drinks, he made some snide remark about us managing to get the shots he intensionally didn't give to us. We paid a cover and went in for n New Years Eve, we should not have been allowed in as there were over 325 people inside said the security guard. We couldn't push our way through to even get a drink. There was no room to even stand and their upstairs was closed. How is this even safe? Why would they even take our money and let us in, knowing this. Walked in the main front door, saw they were setting up for the live band coming in and getting the dinner rush out. We made our way out back to the outside open bar, got some drinks, and relaxed out on the grass area listening to live bands. Later throughout the evening, four vendor tents started to pop up that they supported and were selling their good which was pretty cool. Side note: since my last visit, I have been diagnosed with a condition where I need gluten free of pretty much everything. I asked if they had a gluten free beer and there it was! Awesome! Thank you. I am so upset I did not take pictures of my dinner but the soup was amazing, I think it was a spicy lobster with a side salad. 2 margaritas and yep, a key lime pie dessert!!!! And the dessert is house made and it melted in it mouth, Just good food and great conversation with Chad. My friend wasn't planning on getting any dessert but at the end of our meal, our waitress asked her multiple times if she wanted her birthday dessert to go. We asked if it was free and she just kept asking my friend which one she wanted, making it sound like the dessert was included. She kept repeating, "Do you want your dessert to go? Which one do you want?" Because what kind of server would keep asking which birthday dessert she wanted if it wasn't complimentary? Plenty of other restaurants give free desserts for birthdays, so this was a fair ASSumption, or so I thought. When it was time to pay, she jokingly told me she put the dessert on my tab and I seriously thought she was kidding. Because, again, what server would take it upon themselves to trick us into buying a dessert?? Is this how this place conducts business? Like a car dealership tacking on random fees for commission? Anyway, I didn't bother fighting the bill over an $8 crime brûlée because I wasn't about to ruin my friend's celebration. And it's not just about the money. It's about the audacity of this server misleading her customers. Just a little warning for everyone else, just in case they try to trick you into getting a not-so-free birthday dessert. Love this place! Sat outside on a later summer evening, family of 5 (2 grandparents, us, and our 3-year old.) We ordered fish and chips, fried shrimp, and a burger. The fried seafood was especially well-prepared - fresh fish and shrimp with a nice crisp coating, served hot with flavorful dipping and tarter sauces. The burger and fries were solid as was the cherry farmhouse ale (I wish we'd tried more beers!) Our favorite part was the outside seating - live music, cornhole, a giant ship for little ones to play on, and a number of craft vendors set up - on a Tuesday night, no less. (I'd give it 5 stars except the area beneath our table was a bit dirty with food debris, and table service outside would have been nice, rather than order-at-the-bar.) read more

It was a couple months ago that I purchased 4 tickets to do a brewery tour. Didn't know it was going to be the best brewery tour that I've been on thus far to this period. The tour was different due to COVID. It was a virtual tour of the equipment, but for the most part everything else was in person. Eric did an outstanding job. He told us that this was a different tour than most places, he said probably the most unique one that you would go on. He wasn't kidding. He came out bouncing up and down, think it's just his character. He explained about the place, that they opened it in 20 years ago. Eric said he started brewing on the west coast in the 90's. One key thing he left out is that is brewery is the only brewery in the US that is ran on turbine windmill that saves them $250 per month in energy. That's very impressive. He showed us the 5 tanks that they have in place and explained how they used to have to stir their mash around manually, but finally they purchased new equipment and it's all a push of a button to start stuff. He placed 4 grains and a hop in front of us. He had us taste each of them to see what tastes we were getting out of them. It was a great way to identify the different types of beers by tasting the grains or the hop. We tried different beers from the Olsh (Kolsch), Hugh Hefeweizen, Wheat Ale, and a stout beer. I don't like stout beer but let me tell you this was the best stout beer that I've ever had. We asked some questions, he had great answers. He mentioned that there is over 170 different variables of different IPA flavors. Eric did a wonderful job on the tour, too bad they were closed for food, else it would of been great to eat here, we wanted to do lunch here and have beers. Next time.. read more

Okay where to start...... The parking lot was packed, but for good reason. This place is one of the best dining spots in the area. Walking in we expected a wait, but the host was ready too seat us. We ended up deciding to sit at the bar and I'm glad we did! Service was friendly and fast. Freaky fast as they say lol We decided to get a few appetizers and dessert. This was just enough for us and really hit the spot. There was live music outside which we could faintly hear. There were also two TVs running, not that I was watching, but still nice to have. The bartender mentioned they have music inside on weekends. I read there is a cover charge, not sure how often that happens. So, the food. Wow. We got the fried jalapeño cheese curds with the Sriracha ranch. I love spicy food and this was flavored just right. We also got the hush puppies. I loved the size of them, and the butter....oh lawd. You can't do butter wrong, but you can do butter all kinds of right. And that was this butter. Lastly the dessert. I'd vote this dessert for president. We called ahead because we had a group of 17 coming in. We were told to come in around 5-5:15 and there shouldn't be a problem getting a table for all of us. We get there at 5:05, the inside was empty, and we were told there is a 35 minute wait and we would have to be sat at different tables. We would have been willing to do that if the hostess did not have such a horrible attitude towards us the whole time and if the person we spoke to on the phone earlier was more transparent.
