Brewpub on the main road in Nags Head. Went there on a Saturday night during dinner time, and they weren't too busy. Since this is a microbrewery, I had to get a tasting flight of four 4-oz pours. Their beers were decent... nothing too memorable good or bad with the taste. For the meal, I got the fried flounder platter, which was served with coleslaw and wedge fries. The fried flounder was pretty tasty. The seasoning was light, but there was a good flavor from the fish. I've had my share of fried fish that were way too bland, but the fried flounder I got here was not guilty of that. Decent portions on the platter. This place was amazing! It had such an awesome feel to It., from the superman and wonder man dolls denoting the men's and ladies rooms. To the copper accenting around the whole restaurant it was just a place that was pretty cool to be in. The place utilizes wind to power to power the whole place, which is awesome to think that its an alternative energy pub and restaurant. For my meal I ended up ordering the pulled pork, which had coleslaw on top of it. This was probably some of the best most original pulled pork I've had in a very long time. It was super juicy and tasted great, It came with a side of hush puppies that were really good as well. For beer I ended up getting the sample flight. I had 4 beers including the lemongrass, brown ale, porter and there high proof beer, which is 2 bucks more but worth trying. The Porter and high proof were my favorites. The lemongrass beer was really out there in a good way, but I don't think I could have had more than a samplers size of it. And the brown ale was recommended by the waitress although I didn't really care for it. This place is defiantly on the list of must stop the next time were down there. read more

Really wanted to love this place. The lemon grass brew I had was very solid, our appetizer of spicy blue crab claw was out of this world. However, my wife had the special bbq ribs which we both felt were overly sweet (yeah yeah.. we're in the Carolinas..) and I had the krackalckee shrimp which the fry was perfect on, but the sauce was REALLY spicy.. almost to the point of hot for the sake of hot. The dish needs something to cut the heat and potato wedges don't do it. Avocado, fresh greens, a sweet and spicy sauce, anything. All in all, solid food, but for the price, nothing to write home about. read more

amazing craft beer menu !!!! I really loved the sour that I had :-) My bro and I also really dug the lemongrass wheat beer omg! We are adventurous, but do not fear if you want to stick to the classics, because their Kolsh was lovely too. Went in a larger group - service was nice and helpful and provided great recommendations for us, and we had a blast and collectively tried the entire draft menu, and we all enjoyed everything. They have customizable flights available so you can easily sample almost everything! Overall, we were delighted by how elevated and tasty the food dishes were, (especially given that we came for the beer). My mom got one of their nightly specials (an advanced shrimp and grits moment!!!) and everyone was extremely SHOOK by how good it was. She says it was "better than sex". My dad got the bratwurst plate, and was super impressed by it (which means a lot coming from a German) - plus the meat was sourced locally, hell yeah! I must add that I was sooooo happy myself to find multiple vegetarian/vegan-friendly options on the menu, as that can be a rarity in most burger-faring joints. Much appreciated, as plant-based eaters like craft beer too :-) also the creme brulee was absolutely FIRE !!!! Solid experience at Outer Banks Brewing Station! We were staying in the area and looking for a good spot for a post dinner drink. We decided to give this place a shot. As soon as we pulled up I knew I was going to love the atmosphere. They had an awesome outdoor area, and although we didn't take advantage of it (because of the rain) it looks like fun! The interior was unique with a cool bar rail, live music area and booths along the wall. We snagged a booth and started looking at the drinks. They have a variety of beers, of course, but also a nice list of cocktails. Our waitress was full of energy and helpful. She noticed we didn't have the full cocktail list and ran to grab it for us. We appreciated her wanting us to have options. I took her recommendation and ordered the Roanoke Devil. It was fresh and tasted awesome. We also decided to order dessert and went with the Peanut Butter Bombe. Hello delicious! I am a PB love so I knew it was going to be a hit, but it was light and the perfect ending. We LOVED this place. What an amazing atmosphere. We ended up here every single night of our vacation with our kids! The kids played on the pirate ship as we sat in adirondacks and listened to the live music. What an awesome time. We ate dinner here one of the nights and it was all super good. Husbands seafood pasta was so good compared it to everything else he ate the whole trip. Cuban was great. Clam chowder was awesome as well. The bartender made AWESOME spicy margaritas. We arrived around 9:50pm on a beautiful summer night, and the outdoor area was pretty and nicely maintained. Some of the beers were pretty good, depends on your choices of beer. The annoying thing they did was to ask EVERYONE who is going to drink the beer to be at the counter -- when just us two girls went to the the bar to order 3 cups of beers to take to the outdoor area, the bartender refused to sell us 3 beers. We stopped in on a recent visit to the OBX, mostly to sample their beers. We were a bit disappointed to find nothing dark on their list, but we opted for two flights to hit their 6 on draft, one visiting beer, and one cider. The Brown Ale, Oktoberfest, and Dark Lager were solidly good, and the service at the bar was spot on and super friendly. Would definitely come back to try some of their menu - and some of their dark beers when they get those rolling. read more

Party of 7 here- seated out back. Meh- service was a disaster and at least one of the two beers I had was terrible. I literally went my entire meal without a beverage. The server was no where to be found for around 20 minutes or so. We asked some guy passing by if we could get more water and he literally told us that it was our servers job. Where was she? Smoking a joint? Stuck on the toilet? Browsing her tinder matches? Facebooking? Also, what is up with putting micro greens on top of sweet potato chips? I would rate 4.5 stars but I'll round up to 5. Beer was about average for small breweries. Good but nothing really stood out. The food was pretty good. We are vegetarian so we came because they had options for us. We had the vegan tacos. They were tasty and filling. The salsa for the chips was good but the serving was small for the amount of chips. One teenager got the yard bird and said it was good. The preteen got the kids mac n cheese and said that it was like any other restaurant Mac n cheese. The highlight was the jalapeño cheese curds. They were very tasty and the basket easily fed the four of us as a side/appetizer. Overall worth a visit. Inside is a full service restaurant. Stopped in on a Monday at 2pm to try all their beers. Its in the more commercial area of town, in a strip mall like area. There was plenty of parking. We were able to walk right in and get seats at the bar. Bartender was really friendly and we ordered two flights so we could try all 8 beers in one go. My favorite were the Brown ale, the pils, the stoute and the lemongrass. We were also able to get pint cans of the lemongrass to take home. They were pretty good beers, solid, just not super exciting. The sour was exciting but a little too funky for me. read more

We've been going to the OBX every two years ever since 2005, I think, and have been hitting the OBX Brewing Station almost every time we went. It's a neat place to see and is situated in a good location. For the good, the service at the bar was nice and the hostesses were very pleasant. Everyone seemed very busy, but not too much where they ignored the customers. The food was pretty decent, about a five. But the beer has been slipping now for at least the last three trips there (probably four). I started off with their (I think it was called) Left Coast IPA, which was terrible; possibly the worst IPA I've ever had. It was so bad that I asked the bartender if a mistake wasn't made in pouring. There was no hoppiness, no aroma of hops, no trace of hops at all. Nothing to indicate that it was an IPA. It was more like a lager that was sent through pipes in dire need of cleaning. So after I fought my way through half of that, I tried their Lemongrass Wheat Ale since I was leery of having another high ABV beer. The Lemongrass Ale wasn't really much better- although it did have a strong presence of lemongrass, which was nice. It, too, had apparently been pushed through dirty pipes. I tried by friend's Shaazam Brown Ale, and it sucked, too. To sum it up, if you have the only game in town and a monopoly on craft brewing in a location, I guess you can get away with putting out crap beer. But it would be better if, instead, an opportunity was seen- one where creative, tasty beers could be made. For a place that calls itself a Brewing Station, this doesn't seem to be the case. I gave three stars because the staff were nice and the food was decent. I even bought a shirt like I do every time. If you want a good beer, though, find yourself something down the street at the Brew-Thru from out of town. I'd recommend the Loose Cannon if you can find it. read more

3+ stars. Came to OBBS to watch a reggae band. There was a good crowd and the music was decent. When there's a band, there's no table service, so you have to get drinks from the bar yourself. Not a lot of places to sit since they clear the tables to make way for the dance floor. More long than it is wide (that's what she said), so keep that in mind if you're trying to be close to the stage. Decent spot for live entertainment. Door security was intense. I got the impression that they'd had conflicts there before just based on their body language and terse communication with customers. No nonsense. Not at all friendly. read more

Such a cool place. My husband and I came here mid-day with our 2 little kids. We ordered a few beers and some appetizers. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We sat outside in the patio space, it was being renovated, but was misty still usable. The kids loved the pirate ship playground, we loved the beers, and who doesn't love wind energy?! I loved it all so much! The giant windmill sits over the patio space and reminds you of the power of wind and you can feel the good vibes that the clean energy creates. read more
