Be upfront about add-on charges…read more Our server asked my son if he wanted mushrooms and onions on his steak "on top or on the side?" The question never mentioned a price, so he reasonably assumed they came with the meal. They didn't. They showed up as an extra charge. It's only a couple of dollars, but that isn't the point. He didn't even want them, and it left us feeling tricked instead of welcomed. It's the kind of gotcha upsell you expect from budget airlines, not from a restaurant where you're supposed to feel like a guest. If something costs extra, just say so when you offer it. That's all it takes.

To my surprise, the menu featured a crab cake burger with sweet potato fries. I really wanted to try the schnitzel, which sounded delicious, but the burger was calling my name. It didn't disappoint. It was moist and flavorful. The bun had a very slight crispness to it that was just so appealing. Paired with the homecut sweet potato fries, I had a real birthday treat for my dinner. I have to also mention my baba ganoush appetizer was fabulous as well. And to top it off, my server, Janie, was a delight. She even brought me a birthday surprise! Morten's has become my new favorite restaurant. I'll definitely make it a regular stop on my restaurant itinerary.

I was with my wife and daughter, and our waitress kept snubbing my wife. She would ignore her requests and barely look at her. For example, she brought the other family at our table chopsticks, but didn't ask us if we wanted any. When I asked for them, she brought sets for my daughter and I, but not my wife. She ignored my wife when she asked again, and finally the other family gave her a set. It was like this the whole night with refills, sugar, etc. My wife was getting steamed about it. Finally, at one point, the waitress was standing off to the side, just staring at my wife. That was a bit creepy, but it shifted the mood from anger to amusement, and we started laughing about it, All we could figure was that the waitress must have thought she knew and disliked my wife from somewhere, but we had never seen her before. I was leaning toward talking to the manager to find out what was going on, but my wife said not to bother. We just wouldn't go back. That's a shame too, because the chef was good and a nice guy, and the restaurant was nice. It's too expensive to go there and be treated poorly though.

Started with a Caesar salad and calamari. Both were delicious!! The Caesar salad was fresh and the dressing taste homemade. The calamari was also very fresh, seasoned & perfectly fried! Comes with a really good sauce. Enough for 4 people to share. I ordered the steak sandwich. It was my least favorite thing that I ate. The sauce was different, needed salt or some type of seasoning. I wasn't a fan of the steak either. My toddler enjoyed her kid's chicken tenders and fries. I wasn't able to sneak a few of her fries and they were very good! My sister ordered the Mezzaluna. It was very good as well. I was able to sneak several bites! The chicken was also very tender. My Mom ordered the cheesecake for her birthday dessert. It was delicious and enough for 4 people to share. I'm sure we will definitely be back in the near future. I just will not order the steak sandwich.

From the moment you step inside, the restaurant presents a clean, welcoming atmosphere that…read moreimmediately puts diners at ease. A prominent menu board greets you while waiting in line, complemented by another at the ordering counter for easy perusal. The restrooms are spotless and spacious, with surprisingly comfortable seating, while the thoughtful interior design and ample, easy-to-navigate parking further enhance the overall experience. Service was genuinely attentive and warm. Multiple staff members checked in on us throughout the meal, and the team maintained a diligent pace in clearing and cleaning tables to keep the space pristine. A minor hiccup with our order was quickly resolved--though it required a bit of coordination--thanks to their persistence, ensuring we received everything as intended. The beverage station offers Coca-Cola products alongside fresh sweet tea, unsweet tea, and lemonade. The sweet tea stands out as a refreshing standout: properly brewed, balanced, and genuinely flavorful without the cloying sweetness that plagues so many others. The Food: The cheese bread arrives as a fluffy, light delight with an ideal cheese-to-bread ratio. For a barbecue joint, it's exceptionally well-executed and harmonizes beautifully with the casual, smoky setting. The Morgan White sauce wings are nothing short of outstanding--meaty, perfectly cooked, and coated in a distinctive, vibrant sauce with just the right peppery zing to make your taste buds sing. I could easily devour dozens. Equally impressive are the Mango Habanero wings, which deliver a masterful balance of sweet and heat that builds gradually without overwhelming. The smoke from the cooking process shines through, and the generous portions include both drums and flats for excellent textural variety. These require no ranch to shine. The deviled eggs were competent but unmemorable--perfectly cooked, yet heavy on onion with muted overall flavor. They're unlikely to earn a repeat order. The ribs arrived in a solid portion of three generous pieces. They boast a deep, competition-style smoke with a firm bite that yields nicely upon chewing, leaving satisfying tooth marks. Not overly sauced or seasoned, they let the quality of the meat and smoke speak for themselves--an approach I deeply appreciate. The marble brisket, unfortunately, proved a disappointment. Though beautifully trimmed with good bark and seasoning, and passing the pull-apart and finger tests with ease, it was exceptionally dry. A rare miss that I won't be repeating. In contrast, the sausage is top-tier: excellent snap in the casing, flavorful filling, and spot-on texture. The cheddar jalapeño variety is very good, though I'd love to see a classic plain option alongside it. They've clearly mastered the difficult art of sausage-making here. The pulled pork offers a generous portion with great texture, visible bark, and pronounced smoke. The turkey breast was surprisingly moist for the category--certainly far better than the brisket--with a clean smoke and seasoning profile that might even convert non-turkey enthusiasts. Sides were a mixed bag. The coleslaw is lightly dressed, allowing the vegetables' natural flavors to come through with a pleasant peppery bite. It's solid but could use a touch more dressing for my taste. The French fries, however, are exceptional--crispy, beautifully seasoned, and dangerously addictive; they nearly stole the show before the mains arrived. The beans were a miss, with a peculiar tomato-sweet-vinegar profile that strayed far from traditional barbecue expectations. I wouldn't order them again. The mac and cheese arrived looking appealing but fell short in execution: overcooked noodles with a mushy, somewhat grainy texture and muted flavor, suggesting the sauce may have broken during preparation. Sauces were serviceable. The pepper vinegar paired wonderfully with the pork, while the Carolina mustard offered a creamy, mildly biting twist. The house ranch, however, was disappointingly bland and inferior to the benchmarks set by chains like Wingstop or Texas Roadhouse. Overall Ratings: * Service: A * Cleanliness: A * Layout & Ambiance: B Food: * S-tier: Morgan White wings, Mango Habanero wings, cheese bread * A-tier: Cheddar jalapeño sausage, ribs, French fries * B-tier: Turkey breast, pulled pork * C-tier: Coleslaw, deviled eggs, mac & cheese * D-tier: Brisket * F-tier: Beans, ranch, table BBQ sauce This is a comfortable, well-run spot with several standout items--particularly those magnificent wings and sausage--that make it worth visiting. With a few refinements on the weaker proteins and sides, it could easily rise to the top tier of local barbecue destinations
