Came in for bfs bday app, his fave is the blooming onion, and guess he wanted to try the mozzarella sticks, the motzi were good cheese we had a little drive so stuck em in air fryer to be fresh again and came out great. The bloom was a little sad this time, hate being the one to complain but he was bummed since that was the one thing he wanted to get on his bday for treat.. but you can see from my bloom PICTs before to this one the difference. Ended up calling the restraunt to talk to the manager with out bf knowing just cus we just are not those people but you can just tell it was not a hit this time like usual. Came here for dinner with my friend. Hadn't been in for many years. I'd forgotten how yummy the food was!! I had a fettuccine Alfredo that had shrimp and steak on it. It was so yummy!! My friend had the Alice Springs chicken and she said it was really good too. Our server Allee was awesome! I've visited Outback a few more times since my previous review, and unfortunately, I have had varying levels of service and food quality. When they are busy, service is extremely poor, with items often being forgotten, drinks taking a long time, etcetera. It is also when they are busier that food quality significantly plummets, with steaks coming out raw, lobster being overcooked, etcetera. But the worst part is that several family members and myself have gotten food poisoning from here on multiple locations. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be back. read more

Went there a few weeks ago with the family got the normal service anyone would expect. When it came time to pay the waiter brought the bill and said we could pay with the kiosk on the table. The bill came to $100.20 for five of us. It was a family members birthday so my dad was going to pick up the bill. He was not all that thrilled about having to use the kiosk, but it seemed as though it was the only choice he had. He tried to get the waiters attention and just give him the bill to pay, but he insisted that the kiosk was the new way of paying at the Outback. My dad wanted to pay through the waiter so he could personally tip him for his service. He told the waiter this and the waiter said he could still do that. So frustrated, he fiddled with the kiosk and paid the bill and tipped the waiter. The next day when checking his credit card statement on line, he saw that his bill from the Outback was $135.26 about $35 over what it should have been. There was an extra $5 charge for using the kiosk and an automatic tip of $30.06 added to the bill. That is 30% gratuity on a bill that was originally $100.20. On top of that he tipped the waiter $20. So that waiter got a $50 tip for taking the order, and refilling our drinks twice, someone else brought the food. I think the $5 for the kiosk was shady since it was supposedly the only way to pay according to the waiter. The personal side has apparently gone by the wayside, and we now must interact with machines. Not a way to do business. We won't be returning. read more

Came here on a Thursday at 5:30 and this place was packed. I guess these people were having dinner after spring training games and snowbirds. This location is close to my home. I want this to be a good place for dining out. I have been here several times a year over the past 10 years. It's been a crapshoot. We usually love going to Outback Steakhouse, tonight we went to celebrate.. We had horrible service. First they brought out the tea with no ice! Messed up two orders, didn't bring the condiments when asked so we had to ask two different people before we received what we asked for. Our meat wasn't cooked how we asked. The waitress wouldn't make eye contact with us, she refilled one persons drink and didn't ask others if they needed a refill even though the cups were empty. We ate here today and will never be coming back! First the blinds on the windows had thick dust and food all over them. The light fixture above our table had thick dust and food particles. We walked in and the host was very rude. She looked unhappy to be at work and didn't say a word to us. She took us to our table, dropped off the menus, and walked away. Our server came out a few minutes later and he was friendly from the start. He took our drink orders and gave us enough time to look over the menu. He also brought us out some warm yummy bread. I ended up ordering a 6oz steak with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. My friend had a grilled chicken and shrimp dish that came with Alfredo pasta. We also ordered two cups of the potato soup. The soups came out right away and as always they were delicious. I love the potato soup here! Our dishes came out not too long after. My steak was cooked to my liking, but it didn't have any flavor. My Mac and cheese was really good and I'm glad I ordered it. My friend really liked her food as well, and the grilled chicken was delicious! The pasta was also very creamy! We just had a bad experience at Outback Steakhouse. as a matter of fact, the last couple times we've gone has been terrible to the point where we're never going to one ever again. The locations have been in Mesa, AZ East Valley. My husband ordered a bloomin' burger medium. It came to the table very well, the bloomin onion was mush and it bloomin sucked! I ordered the prime rib sandwich and if that was prime rib, it was the worst cut on the planet. It was some cheap, thinly pounded beef way over cooked. The only thing we liked were the fries. The service was poor. she never once came back to see if our food was any good and she was nowhere to be found. Just horrible! Years ago, Outback used to be good! December - March at this Mesa, AZ location there's always a wait to be seated, but the food is outstanding. We went to dinner here on March 25th and there was maybe a dozen people there. I guess now that the snowbirds are gone they don't care about the quality of the food. first out salads looked like the lettuce had been frozen it was droopy and brown. We didn't eat it. Mixed review. My wife ordered a medium well steak which was cooked medium rare. She never sends anything back to the kitchen so was very disappointed. We expect a steakhouse to know how to cook a steak, per the order. On the other hand, I had ribs & a medium rare steak which were excellent along with a very good sweet potato with butter. I enjoyed my meal but my wife was so upset that she said we were never going back to Outback. Said she could get a better steak at Garcia's Mexican Restaurant (they do have good steaks). The big reason was because we had a nice gift card so we thought, let's beat the crowd, go a bit early in the day and go the day BEFORE Father's day!. All good decisions. Now for those of you that follow me, you know I deal with finding Celiac Friendly, gluten free options when I dine out. I did my YELP reading and was please to find that Outback Steakhouse has a gluten free menu! Now I can see your eyes rolling as you immediately shout, "what about their Bloomin Onion"? Yes. Lots of items have gluten, but ask your waiter to see the gluten free/Friendly menu. Like all good steakhouses, the grilled meat is very friendly to most allergy sensitive folks. My wife got the Filet Mignon, steamed veggies and a baked sweet potato. Wow. The steak was great, veggies and potato top notch. I went with Prime Rib with Shrimp on the Barbee, French onion soup and loaded baked potato. Our waiter was fantastic. He immediately wrote down about the food allergies, recommended the loaded potato, made sure my wife got her steak done to perfection and kept our tea refilled every few minutes. Please keep Outback steakhouse in mind if you like a casual atmosphere, gluten friendly restaurant in the north Mesa Area. My expectations weren't high going in, but this location is particularly meh. Ordered the featured dish a surf and turf and paid $5 extra to add a chopped salad. I usually really like this salad, it is finely chopped and full of blue cheese flavor. This was a bunch of large bits pieces of an iceberg core. I had to try and sprinkle the one chunk of blue cheese about. The shrimp were dismal, steak was edible. The sweet potato was only edible because I had butter, brown sugar and cinnamon to douse it in. Great service these days seems to be somewhat of a curious anachronism. Though Covid has taken its toll on a company's ongoing challenge of acquiring and maintaining quality team members, with effective management, one can still obtain a positive result. That said, and acknowledging that Anthony L. is the General Manager and Paula K. make up the management team for the Outback Steakhouse located in Mesa. I wanted to take a moment to thank you the Out West Restaurant Group for having a management team that recognizes "the customer pays the paycheck." These management skills were demonstrated the other day when I had a small challenge that was my fault. Consequently, Paula and General Manager, Anthony L. worked with me in a very courteous and positive manner. Obviously, Anthony and team member Paula, realize it takes more money to generate a new customer than to maintain your most valuable asset, a current customer. Further, it's important that you understand that I'm not just writing this letter because I am happy with the result, it's much more than that... both she and Mr. L. were upbeat, courteous and professional while demonstrating an attitude of service. I highly recommend bypassing the extremely noisy atmosphere at the steakhouse that we know of whom I speak, and support this well managed organization. Did not start out on a great foot. Ordered the cocktail with the koala bear in it. Out of the koalas. Why promote something if you are not going to have enough on hand? Very disappointing. I got the drink anyways. I was even more disappointed that the drink sucked. It tasted like grapefruit juice for some reason. Ugh. My husband and I went out on date night to our local Outback. We frequent A LOT because it's his favorite. Our server's name was Matthew. Matthew is awesome. We've had him before and we were so glad he was our server again. Alan is the other server we love. He's a hoot! Give these two guys a raise Outback! They rock and do a great job! We started with the Pumpernickel bread and butter which is delicious! We had our salads afterwards. I love the croutons at Outback! For our meal my husband had the prime rib dinner with two baked potatoes (he likes to take the home for another meal) and I had the coconut shrimp with marmalade. Our food tasted SO GOOD. I miss the prime rib dinner and hope they bring it back again soon. The seasonings and flavor is unbelievable. After our meal we rolled ourselves out of the door completely stuffed. As someone who travels the country for work I've been to a lot of Outbacks, but I've never felt more at home then at this location. The food, the vibe and the sense of community you get here amazing. Jason, on staff is a huge part of what makes this neighborhood Outback feel like a part of the community. He always listens to his customers and has the best recommendations.
