As I know this review will be washed away by all of the other reviews that this location receives, I hope just to shed some light on my Outback experience. I haven't even gotten to eat my food yet before writing this review, and allow that to be a testament to how great the customer service and moreover the HOSPITALITY I received during my curbside pick up on a busy Friday night. My main man, who goes by none other than the name absolute legend, some have even called him the GOAT (greatest of all time) but most of us just call him JOSH B. In today's day and age, the bar of excellence is so exceedingly low but I was filled with a joy when Josh greeted me on that very chaotic Friday night. He made me feel at home, and I hadn't even left my car. He was kind, personable, charismatic, and if I were ever to dine in JOSH B is who I would ask for as my server. Josh was a breath of fresh air in a dark and gloomy world. I appreciate him and his positive energy, and I wish nothing but the best for him as he has a very bright future ahead of him, especially with such an awesome, positive, and bright attitude. I know the food will be good, but JOSH B was who made my night. If only everyone could share this young man's optimism. To be quite frank, he not only deserves a raise, but a promotion and a hand shake from the owner for such an outstanding job he's doing. We visited the establishment for the first time in a long while, and the service we experienced was unlike anywhere we've been in years. When we arrived there were multiple employees present who opened the doors for us as we came inside. Our server, Nolan, was a pinnacle of hospitality. Each suggestion he gave us on what to order was a 10/10 in quality and came out very quickly. He made great conversation and truly gave our whole family a sense of belonging and made our experience that much better. The food was great, the service was great, and even when we were exiting, the staff made us feel like VIPs. Great experience at outback on Friday night! Definitely wanted to come to try out the new Koala Punch so I could have my little rubber ducky koala looking thing! The drinks were super good. I also had a flight of margaritas which came on a boomerang, super cool! Opted for the Bloomin Burger for the meal and another member of my party had the steak, with loaded, baked potato and salad. At the end of the meal, we ended up splitting the brownie and ice cream dessert! It was so good. Our server was very nice and friendly, overall great experience at this outback. read more

9 times out of 10 you get great service here. 7 times out of 10 you get your burger or steak cooked to perfection. Everything else is always good. The manager/owner is a very nice guy. We live nearby and don't have a lot of choices. So, we eat here often. read more

Evening dinner with friends at Fishhawk Outback. Typical Outback decor, ambience, staff pleasant and professional. We ordered our favorite Pork Chops and wives had chicken dishes. Unfortunately the pork was real tough on my friends plate but I made out a little better. The manager was pleasant and understood and prepared another plate for my friend. Overall it was an unpleasant experience but we thank the manager for his immediate effort to make it right. Sometimes stuff happens. Outback is also Military friendly. read more

I ALWAYS get the 8oz filet. They had a new one with shrimp and a lemon sauce. Thought I'd give it a try. The flavor was ok but the filet was the worst I ever had. Never had a filet with gristle. It had been some time since our last visit here. Craving steak, we decided to check this place out. We arrived on a Friday at around 4 PM, and it was quite empty at that hour. We ordered two Aussie three-course meals. I started with a Caesar salad, then had the 8 oz center cut sirloin with a side of Aussie fries for my entrée, and finished with the NY style cheesecake for dessert. My wife began with the French Onion Soup, which had a $4 upcharge, followed by coconut shrimp for her entrée, and she wanted the chocolate thunder from down under for dessert, but since they were out, she opted for the cheesecake instead. The Caesar salad was decent, while the sirloin steak was just okay--not particularly memorable. I ordered it medium well, and it was cooked correctly. We didn't really enjoy the dessert; it resembled any other cheesecake and was a very small slice. My wife found her French onion soup a bit salty, and the coconut shrimp were just alright. In hindsight, I probably should have chosen a ribeye or another steak option. This location offers ample parking around the restaurant and plenty of seating inside. Do not go to this out back if you want rare or medium rare prime rib. They are always out no matter what time we go. We have gone as early as 4:30 pm. Someone either doesn't know how to make enough or refuse to cut into another prime rib. Just go to Texas Roadhouse. They never run out of those temperatures. Customer service seams to be going downhill having to wait 15 minutes for a water refill. read more

We were seated at 6pm. Ordered a few minutes later. Our salads didn't arrive until 6:20. Our rack of ribs came at 6:50. The ribs were over seasoned with cayenne pepper. Just awful. The manager gave us a 10% discount. The service was slow and the food not good. We had to eat and get out of there. Not enough time to get another order plus management didn't really care. read more

I recently visited the local Outback and tried the Sammi chicken burger. For my taste, it was a bit too oily, though the French onion soup was very good and definitely a highlight of the meal. My friends all seemed to enjoy their dishes, which is always a good sign. Overall, I'd say this location does the job for a quick, casual dinner. We went there Thursday evening around 7:30 pm. We were greeted warmly when we entered and were seated immediately. Our server greeted us quickly and I cannot praise her enough. Kelly F is a young lady with a bubbly personality and desire to make your dinner pleasant. She was attentive through the evening but not intrusive and we wanted for nothing. She had several suggestions for our dinners and was very knowledgeable about their available items. Meeting her made the trip, food aside. Every restaurant should have a Kelly caliber server and their business would boom. The food was great as usual, steak tender and perfectly cooked medium rare. All items were warm or cold as needed and the blooming onion, their claim to fame, was so good and not greasy like most places serve them. It was just crispy and good. The parking lot was well lit, had adequate handicap parking near the entrance. The inside was softly lit, spotlessly clean, booth seats not beat down uncomfortably. I was very impressed with their new tableware and the new steak knives were beautiful and functionally sharp and shiny. It was a very pleasant evening and we were not hurried even though we were at the end of the shift. We suggested to Kelly that we adopt her as she was such an asset and so personable. Outback ambiance hasn't really changed in years however their customer service and food has declined drastically over the years. My wife and I were at one time weekly visitors of Outback going there for lunch or dinner but not anymore. Last night we decided to try it again after not going there for about 4 months due to our last experience. The waitress was attentive but not accurate with her listening forgetting about 1/2 the things we ordered. The salads came out first and the lettuce seemed as though it had been frozen since it was no longer crisp and crotons were soft. The soups tasted good but came out at room temperature. Then there was the steaks, the steaks that seem to have almost doubled in price over recent years, 2 of the 3 steaks were over cooked. One of them was so over cooked it was sent back however when the replacement arrived , which was cooked properly, but was tough as shoe leather. Then the biggest scam was the ending, which we didn't noticed to later. When we went to check out, the pre-set tips were not correct, a 20% tip in the machine was in fact 23%. The State Attorneys Office will be getting a call. The food wasn't worth the price and the tip definitely wasn't worth it. Will NOT be returning. read more

In past few years we have avoided Outback as we felt that their standard was declining and there were better options. Last evening wife and I along with another couple stopped at the Fish Hawk, Out back for dinner and was pleasantly surprised, service was acceptable, food was well prepared, served right off the grill, hot and very tasty. We took our frind out to lunch for her birthday. We ordered the bloomin onions so that was a huge plate. We barely ate some of the bloomin onions, then she brought out our salads. At this point we have the breadboard with the bread, the huge bloomin platter, the salad dishes and then she comes with the entrees. There were so many plates on the table we had to put plates on top of plates since we were still eating the onions, still eating our salads and now we have our entrees. It would have been nice to enjoy each course instead of rushing to eat and not finishing anything. They should have given us a little time. The food and service was good. Just disappointed how they rushed out every course. The place was empty so they didn't need the seats. Happy environment when we came into the restaurant. Aiden was our server. He got our drinks and appetizer right. That's where the good part ends. We asked for more bread, didn't get it. We didn't get extra sauce with our bloomin onion (we asked for it) Our server wrote down my order as steak and ribs instead of steak and alice chicken. My steak was under cooked and my dipping sauce did not arrive until everyone elses food was gone. Person #2 didn't get their alice chicken, just steak and it was way under cooked. Person #3 got an alice chicken added to their lobster and steak, the steak was undercooked. I took the alice chicken from person #3 so they wouldn't have to make mine again, all 3 steaks had to be fixed for temperature. Worstershire sauce for #2 never arrived. Honey mustard for my alice chicken never arrived. We had to ask for drinks each time we wanted a refill otherwise we only had ice. When our server was clearing some plates at our request, he took #4 drink and didn't bring back a refill. When the manager came to the table, there was no apology and we had to ask for plates to place our steaks on to be fixed as she was just standing there staring at our food. The only time we saw our server after the manager arrived was when we asked another person to grab him for us. Food mediocre, service and management awful! Outback is a very popular restaurant in the upscale Fishhawk Ranch development with a menu to please just about anyone. It's a real winner to bring friends and relatives with varying tastes for lunch or dinner to explore the very extensive menu. Prices are reasonable for a very good chain restaurant offering far more than just steak. In other words, there's something for everyone -- kids too. Today we visited Outback for lunch. Lunch is served until 4 pm Monday through Friday, offering smaller portions on a special lunch menu at a reasonable price. The restaurant can be less crowded and quieter too, especially weekdays. We both chose "Alice Springs Chicken" from the "What's for Lunch" menu. A 5oz grilled chicken breast (440 cals) with Monterey Jack, Chedder and sautéed mushrooms and Honey Mustard Sauce, plus a side of veggies or fries. It was excellent. Fresh bread served warm hit the spot. Service was very good. read more

A welcome change to some of the struggling social skills and lack of training of new hires in area restaurants. Thankful Outback hires local students and trains their employees properly. This is my favorite Outback in the Tampa Bay area. The service is excellent here. I've never had a problem with any of my orders at this location. They cook my steak perfectly. I also like that they have some healthy side dishes for those who want to eat on the lighter side. I was pleased to find out that they have a light balsamic vinaigrette for those of us who are counting calories. The 6 oz. Victoria Filet is the perfect size, and very affordable for that cut of steak. I had the seasonal veggies instead of a choice of potato. It was a medley of fresh steamed carrots, squash, and broccoli. It was a very tasty meal. Mom always orders her favorite herb crusted prime rib cooked to medium rare. She eats every bit if it. I don't typically rave about chain restaurants, but I feel that this one is better than most chain steakhouses. I think it gets a bad rap sometimes. We'll continue to visit this location when we're in the mood for steak. read more

WATCH FOR EXTRA CHARGES! The food was good, but the service very rough. I came in for lunch for a first time visit and asked for lunch specials but told I had just missed them. And they missed a chance to delight a new customer. I ordered a lunch and my order was fouled up and had to be returned. When it arrived it was good But the bill was inflated. I checked the menu pricing and called it out to the waiter who called for the floor manager who stated I was being charged extra for grilled chicken. Which I had never ordered. The food here is good but how foolish is it to slide an extra $2 onto a bill, anger a customer, then lose the fight over the bill and then lose the customer also. All the good work of the family owners is undone by foolish front front line employees. read more
