We started with a soup and salad. The Caesar salad was perfectly dressed with a side of croutons. For our entree, we had a choice of two different steaks, salmon, or pasta. They even had vegan steak options, which was plus for me because I love vegan meals. I've never saw that type of option at a steakhouse. Even though I was excited about the vegan options, I ended up having the salmon and mash since it was highly rated. What an AMAZING choice! It was flavorful and cooked to perfection. First off....the drinks are great! I definitely recommend coming here if you want to get a drink and enjoy! Honestly, shout out to the bar staff. We had a reservation for awhile for an anniversary. We get there and they were a little rude and asked us if we wanted to eat outside because they were booked even though we had a reservation. They ended up seating the two of us at this massive round table. All yhe while someone that worked there (maybe management or ownwr) was acting a hot mess running around seeming a little inebriated with all the customers. Our servers were great! It was a guy and he was training a girl....this was on a Saturday...may narrow it down. Food is overpriced especially since it is hit or miss. The appetizers were good...although the dip was served with French fries and the other thing was served with bread. Lamchops were chewy and charred too much...the steak was pretty much rare. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, and the staff was incredible. They were super accommodating and handled our group with professionalism and ease. You can tell they take pride in both their service and the overall experience. The energy felt elevated but still welcoming, which made the celebration that much better. Ultimately it's a nice place, good service and food is good however is a bit pricey for what you're getting! The biggest issue was the total miss on flavor and temp of the steaks! I'm pretty positive there was not seasoning added to the steaks what so ever, which made it un-enjoyable, they were ordered medium and they came out closer to rare than even medium rare and I don't know about others but I don't send food back to get it cooked more or anything as chefs don't typically take kindly to it and I'm not gonna chance it. Essentially you have one shot to get it right with me and keep my business it's either good or it's not. Sad that I cook better steaks at home than most restaurants can produce and I don't always use the most expensive cuts of meat. However Charley's Steakhouse I have yet to beat it's just that good. The bar was full-service, so we got to enjoy the entire menu (and some drinks) without missing out. We ordered the lacquered Delmonico, Brussels sprouts, potatoes, and crème brûlée -- and everything was incredible. The steak was tender with a beautiful caramelized crust, the Brussels sprouts were crispy and flavorful, and the potatoes paired perfectly. We enjoyed the picturesque spaces for Valentine's pics. We shared a 22oz ribeye, loaded baked potato, bacon green beans, and potstickers. The potstickers were good but overall the food was pricey and underwhelming. They were out of lobster tails for the 2 hours we were there which was extremely disappointing for a prime time dinner slot. To drink we had a big guava, passion fruit martini and espresso martini. The drinks were good. For dessert we had the seasonal dark chocolate cheesecake and peanut butter pie. The pie was phenomenal! Service was really good. It's been a few months and I was excited to visit again. I love this place! The ambiance, delicious food and great service. Owner, John made the rounds checking in guests and even chatted with us a while and took pics of our group for us. Manger checked in to make sure all was good. Our server Booby was great. My companions had not been here before and were very happy as well. We had a lovely bottle of Muscato as well as the Tuscan chicken soup and prime rib poutine. Very rich, filling and comforting. We had a 1pm reservation for Morhers Day and still no appetizer after waiting 90 minutes. When we spoke with our waiter it was at this time he informed us that the appetizer was not finished yet and items we ordered for our main course were not available. New to the area and first time at Donovan's. Went around 3pm on a Saturday and the place was basically empty (2-3 other tables). Large space to accommodate all parties. Decoration was pretty/good vibes. Appetizer plates had dust or lint on them so they all had to be wiped down after they were placed on our table but no issues after that. The chicken dip was creamy - nothing crazy good to me but the table loved it. Black garlic aioli was very good. I'm not sure I'm able to describe how it differs from regular garlic aioli but if you like one you'll probably like the other. Tempura chicken sandwich was so juicy and perfectly crisp and airy. I barely ate it because I was drinking. Happy hour I think was 2-5(?) so the spritzer was $7 or so. We don't usually drink gin but we're wanting the spritzer and surprisingly you don't taste it at all which was awesome. My friend was able to get the chicken parm that's usually on dinner menu after the waiter asked the kitchen if it was all prepped (it was) so that was a nice accommodation as well. I believe this is the best food I have had thus far the portions are large. The food is tasty and the prices are reasonable. Bonus points because they have a huge wine selection. It's happy hour till 6pm, so we started with the lavender lemonade and the Big Guava drinks. Yum! Started with the French onion soup. Big enough to share! Hot and so flavorful! Had the Delmonico steak with the sauce on the side. It had a sweet and salty soy sauce style that came with it. I liked having it on the side so it could be dipped. The steak was very tender and moist! HIGHLY recommend the Brussels. They are flash fried with crispy edges with a sweet sauce on top. So delicious!! My husband had the prime rib with the mashed potatoes. Very tender and great with the Aus jus. Our server was super attentive and made sure we had plenty of water and lemons. A complimentary dessert was offered for my birthday. A delicious chocolate mouse cake with a candle and a happy birthday sign. She even sent the saxophone player over to play Happy Birthday for me! The food and drinks over all were good. Dinner was made less appetizing because our table was inundated with fruit flies. Initially it seemed like it might have been one or two. However, when the mixed vegetable side dish was brought to the table the whole fruit fly family showed up! The service was good. For main courses, we had prime rib, chicken, Cordon Bleu, and the bourbon salmon. I think the bourbon salmon was the best. The glaze was absolutely delicious and deep in flavor. The chicken Cordon Bleu was also quite nice little bit on the salty side and the sauce could've been a little bit thinner on it but otherwise a great dish the prime rib ribs were cooked perfectly nice and tender flavored nicely. Although it is primarily a steak house, including Waygu, I had the ziti with beef. And instead of ground beef they put big chunks of steak (like the kind normally in a stew). The plate was huge...HUGE. Enough for two or leftovers. The cheese was so delicious with every bite. Another at our table got the bourbon brown sugar salmon. They raved about it and ate the entire thing. Ambiance is romantic. Lot of cute decorations and lighting. Nice adult beverage menu. Several dining rooms, including outside seating. First time there with a group of friends, early, 5 pm reservation. Server was good. Food took forever to come out. I ordered the prime rib sandwich. It was awful. The Au just was awful. I asked for a side of creamy horseradish hoping it would make the sandwich edible. It did not. I took only a few bites of half of the sandwich and ate some of the fries (they are ok but need seasoning). Got my bill and for a metal SMALL ramekin they charged me $4! I will include a pic of the horseradish and bill. I then asked to see a manager as now I was no way going to pay for this hot mess of a meal. Young female manager came to the table. I told her the story. I said I cannot believe that y'all charge four dollars for the side of horseradish. Said she would be happy to remove the horseradish. The server came over and asked for our drink orders and then just stood there while we were making our decision. Then she finally came back to take our drink orders and then it took over 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. We went there on recommendations from friends and especially for the twin lobster tails and prime rib. My prime rib came out and then was followed by my wife's lobster a few minutes after. By this time my beef was lukewarm at best. We would have liked some fresh pepper but no one came back to our table to offer or check how our meals were. By the time my wife finished the server came back and asked how everything was but it was to late to send it back. The manager was notified, she came over and apologized and then comped my meal. I really wanted to like this place but it fell short of my expectations. We went here specifically for happy hour which is 12-6pm daily. They only had drinks for HH and no food (at the tables not sure if there is a separate bar HH menu). Additionally, they did not have any raw oysters because they were out. We brought our 2 kids under the age of 5. They didn't specifically have a kids menu but they had kid options such as buttered pasta, chicken tenders, etc. We ordered two drinks off the HH menu - Big guava and Pimm's garden spritzer. The big guava was a little too sweet for my taste but presented nicely. The spritzer did not taste as expected and just looked like it was thrown together. Part of drinking cocktails is having the beautiful presentation. For food, we ordered the Tuscan chicken dip, 30oz porterhouse, kids chicken tenders, Mac and cheese side, green beans side, and carrot side. The food was typical steakhouse quality food. We visited Donovan's on a Thursday for my birthday. We arrived around 4:15pm and found out the dining room opened at 5pm. They welcomed us to sit at the bar in the meantime and put our reservation in. They accommodated our request of sitting by a window. We ordered scotch for me and cocktails for my girlfriend. The bartender was very helpful and communicative. When the time came, she offered to take our order to get the kitchen working on it. She requested that our table be assigned to her and she took care of us all the way through. There aren't any particularly secluded areas aside from the private event room, but somehow we felt a good sense of privacy, both at the bar and at our table. The food... wow. It was truly impressive and delicious. Every single thing, from the wedge salad to start, to the main course, to the key lime pie at dessert kept us praising the quality and flavor of the food. The tomahawk steak was delicious! Lamb chops were so tasty. The food was worth every penny. Having said that... expect to pay a three-digit tab here if you want to get a good sampling of what they've got to offer. But again, so worth it! We will definitely be returning.
