And for the music, the DJ was very lively and encouraged diners to get out of their seats and dance around the restaurant in a line. Kelly S and the entire team did an amazing job hosting us. I've been here on a multitude of occasions…read more I'm not sure exactly how long they've been open but when I first became aware of the place, which was about a year ago, someone took me for my birthday and I had a great time. The service was excellent, and the food was actually quite good. But it's really the atmosphere that's just so interesting. From an aesthetic standpoint, it's really a very pleasing environment. Sadly, all subsequent visits since the first have gone downhill. So perhaps I just got more than lucky on that first occasion. The sushi in particular has been "fishy". So I stopped ordering it, but on the last try, they actually argued with me before taking it back. No apology mind you. While they were fighting with me, I asked, "why don't you taste it?". Which resulted in a lecture series on how the chef is the owner and how he prepares everything himself. So I logically asked to speak to him because you could smell it from at least a few inches away and it wasn't fresh or at least wasn't good. And of course they let me know that he's not working. So what was that exercise about exactly lol? On my last and final visit, I got stuck in some crazy Florida storm prior to walking in the door. The streets were literally getting flooded. Anyone on the road at that moment knows what I'm talking about. The restaurant had just opened and there was not a person inside nor do I think anyone would enter the restaurant because to get to it, they would have had to walk through the parking lot and by the time they made it to the door, they would be soaking wet (as I was). Meanwhile, I did not want to drive in that flood and so just decided to order food / drinks and wait it out. So without a single person in a restaurant, other than staff, and with sympathetic glances from the hostess and the bartender that I had survived the storm to get into the restaurant relatively dry-ish, and just grateful to be anywhere and not outside, the manager decided to come over and throw me out because I had a graphic on my T-shirt. Ironically, it was my own design, having worked in fashion for years. Of course, he could've made an exception since there was a massive storm outside, and no customers inside, but no, he made me go back out into the rain and now by the time I hit my car, I was completely soaking wet drenched, which also drenched my car. So let me just say a giant FU to that Manager whoever the hell you are dude yeah and you won't be getting my business ever again. I predict this place goes the way of the dodo and not the flamingo. It will take time, but it will happen.

Others had The Ravioli, Mussels, Meatballs, Wild Shroom Pappardelle, Paccheri Vodka, and a perfectly prepared Veal Chop (a non-menu special). She's highly knowledgeable and provided a great introduction regarding the menu as well as Chef Muir's Argentine and Italian specialities. My friend and I enjoyed H20 and this is a venue that blesses the table with their own water carafe. I'm a huge fan! We placed our orders which wasn't an easy task given the variety of scrumptious options. The two of us enjoyed catching up while waiting for our meals. During this time, we were served an Amuse-bouche. It was a wrap featuring but not limited to asparagus, burrata, and pesto. This had a very clean taste. I enjoyed it but one bite was sufficient. I wasn't left desiring more. Fast forward to our generous sized starter salads. She enjoyed the Caesar and I opted for the deconstructed wedge but with sherry vinaigrette. This salad is not the typical wedge and highly enjoyable. I prefer the way Muir plates it rather than the cumbersome stacked style. Not to mention, the combination of ingredients brings it to another level. For entrées, my bestie ordered one of her go to dishes, the bronzino. I was indecisive and caught between a seared halibut and a slow fired prime angus steak. In the end, I veered in a completely different direction. The bucatini with braised oxtail, wild mushrooms, and pecorino was the winner. This proved to be an excellent choice. All breads and pastas are made in-house so this was a major selling point. We also shared sides of asparagus and creamed spinach but opted to go light on the sauce. The creamed spinach was the best I've eaten in my life and definitely left me desiring more. Unfortunately, I didn't take notice of the bread service until after the meal but I highly recommend ordering if you're a bread junkie like me. Due to the fact we were full from our delicious dinner, we didn't order dessert but it was a challenge saying no to the bread pudding. It sounded divine but taking a dessert paired with ice cream to go is never a wise choice nor as enjoyable as savoring it in the restaurant. We received a set of 4 mini desserts with the check. These consisted of 2 brownie bites and 2 delicious citrus madeleine cakes. #notonebadbite was eaten throughout the night! Too cute. I started with a Caesar salad. I like anchovies and there were several on top. The salad had a nice garlicky dressing and cubes of sourdough bread croutons. My husband had seared foie gras with figs to start. The appetizer listed on the menu is actually pate -- as Erica explained -- which we didn't realize -- but she said if my husband preferred, they could do an actual piece of foie gras. Yes, please. It's one of his favorites. He said it was spectacular. For our entrees, we both order the small filet mignon. He ordered medium rare and I ordered medium. We like Pittsburgh charred. For a side (they are big enough to share), we got the creamed spinach. Both our steaks were perfectly cooked. We had been given steak knives, but each steak was amazingly tender. And delicious. The spinach was good. It needed just a touch of salt. We ate every bite of both items. Pre-dessert, they give an amuse dessert (!). A small plate of two mini lemon Madeline's and two small round chocolate brownie like cake. For dessert, we shared a slice of flourless chocolate cake. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The slice looked meager at first, but the chocolate is so rich and dense and fudgy that I couldn't eat it all in one sitting.
