My sons birthday was sept 20 and request a steak for dinner so i took it upon myself to find him a place that he has never been which was this location in Katy which i chose because i have eaten here before a few years ago and it was good but now i am HIGHLY disappointed because this was for my son bday dinner! 1st off we asked for a booth and we was seated in one of the smallest booths for 3 people out of all the booths that was there, we just didn't have any elbow room to eat. Not to mention there was food all over the floor next to our table! I was not feeling the atmosphere at that point and really wanted to leave but because it was 9pm we knew we didn't have time to go anywhere else. So we all ordered a steak dish and no one was happy with the food at all! My son asked for a refill for his kiwi lemonade drink and was told that he could not have a refill with that drink, I HAVE NEVER HEARD IN MY LIFETIME THAT YOU CANNOT HAVE A REFILL ON ANY DRINK! Plus its his bday!!! My margarita was watered down! Our Mac and cheese bites were super bland! I ordered the steak medium well with coconut shrimp with baked potato, ALL of our steaks were bland with ABSOLUTELY NO seasoning or flavor or butter what so ever! My steak was not how i ordered it so whoever cooked it is a amateur and do not know what their doing! They are just there to collect a check! The cook on the steak was well done ( i asked for medium well) it was tough and burnt at the bottom and was hard to cut through! I never put A1 sauce on any steak but i had to ask for some just to give my steak some flavor for my husband and i and the waitress brought us some sauce in a tiny little container instead of bringing the bottle. I had 4 shrimp and a small potato for $22, we eat out often so if its worth it i don't complain but this was horrible! A different sever brought us our food and took dishes away from our table and dropped a bowl with sauce in it on the floor next to us and it stayed on the floor til he finally decided to come back and clean it up and the thing that bothered my the most was the cleaning and closing down while we was eating! Sweeping, mopping, putting chairs on tables, we felt like we needed to rush to eat! I can understand being ready to go home but when people are still eating dont make them feel rushed and clean around them when they are eating! Our waitress never came to see if our food was ok or if we needed anything! We had to tell the server that dropped the bowl that we needed something and he said that he would tell our waitress and she took forever! The manager was walking around singing and everyone else was just like the walking dead with no personality (THEY WAS OVER IT ANY READY TO GO) and we could tell! My son (age 22) literally asked my the next day can we have a do over and eat somewhere else for his bday to make up for being so dissatisfied and he has never asked me that before! I ordered the grilled chicken and fries lunch special ($9). The chicken was cooked perfectly, and it was tasty with the BBQ. My wife did the all-you-can-eat Soup as Salad ($8.99). The first salad was a typical house salad served with a steak Chilli. Chilli had chunky steak, and to me, it was a bit salty. I wanted to mention if you do the all-can-eat soup as a salad; apparently, having the chili is an upcharge. We weren't aware of this when we ordered. Had a gift card I have been meaning to use and gave them a try. Blooming onion was greasy but yummy. Free warm bread was also delicious. I got the filet mignon and lobster combo. Steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The lobster tail was TINY and dry, very disappointing. We dined in here on 11/23/22 between 7pm-9pm. The food was PIPING hot, from the blooming onion, wings, baked sweet potatoes, Mac and Cheese, and steak. I was so impressed by the temperature of my food, freshness, and flavor. I love eating fresh food. Everything was made to order and the manager on shift that night whose name is Jashante was awesome. He checked on all the tables several times that night and made sure everyone dining in was doing great and enjoying their food. Literally one of the best managers I have ever encountered in my dining experience. He even helped clear plates from the table, a true leader that didn't feel like he was above his team. He was involved. He led by DOING. I had to stop him and get the full spelling on his name. A really great Leader, which was reflected in the amazing quality of the food that night. You can tell he holds himself and his team to a HIGH standard. I will definitely be back! That was my first time eating at Outback Steakhouse. I will definitely visit this spot again. We typically love outback! The salads, the food and drinks are always good. We could always count on going to outback wherever we were. Except tonight. We sat at the bar tonight. It started with the drinks. My wife had wine and it was fine. I ordered my favorite drink an old fashioned and it was completely watered down. My wife even watched the bartender squirt water in it after she made the drink? You don't water down an old fashioned. I said because it's watered down can I just get a bourbon and coke. She served everyone at the bar before event trying to make me another drink. The house salads were soggy and wilted with no flavor (not enough dressing) I had to order more dressing to even eat it. So we've been to this location twice in the past month or so. The location is newish looking, decorated very nicely, booths are comfy and the atmosphere lends itself to conversation as it is never loud. The host/hostesses are always nice and polite. Our server this past time was ok-not super chatty but did fill our drinks a few times. We find overall the steaks are ok-a bit dry as is the grilled shrimp. We really enjoyed the mac n cheese-it tastes like they season it with spices-or maybe use some sort of spicy cheese?Also the french onion soup is really good-I find a bit overpriced however. 7.00 for a small bowl? The portion of fries is super small-much smaller than at other steakhouses, but they are good-crispy outside, soft inside. Then she claimed that I had the Felet and I pointed out the differences. I know steak well. The steak was horrible. I still have that greasy taste in my mouth. The service was also bad. I didn't expect it to be perfect because we asked for a booth so they sat us in the bar. They also brought my salad late so I was still trying to eat it after my food came. Got the order wrong also. I guess he made a mistake by mentioning to her he didn't know how much was on the card. She said she would check. Back again at the Outback, so comfortable with the best quality servers in Katy. Last night was a bit rainy and it was nice to see the kids out with their with prom dates. Seated right away with snappy but unobtrusive service which I really appreciate.. Obviously good server training goes on here. My wife had the small bacon bourbon salmon and I opted for the small sirloin cooked rare to my waiters suggestion "Pittsburg style" which is lightly seared on a very hot surface on each side- cool in the center, baked potato and a fresh garden salad. A sweet deal and plenty of food! Cooked well, outstanding atmosphere (conversation level noise which I really appreciated) iced tea level kept up and we were very pleased with our visit. I recommend this place sincerely. What? Location is moving?? In the age of Covid going to an actual restaurant has become more rare. Even this restaurant offers delivery which I have used twice before, but decided I would rather get out a bit this time. I still love their salads and their sides. I ordered salmon on this visit and it was cooked well, but not to the point of dryness. We tried their new stuffed "tots" appetizer- these are the size of large meatballs so we took most of them home for later. So the other reason we decided to dine in on this occasion. I've never had a pleasant delivery experience with them. One time I couldn't even cut my steak it was so hard outside. Another time the bread was tough and shriveled. Outback used to be smokin' great. Today we walked in and it took 15 minutes to get waited on in a largely empty restaurant. We ordered steaks medium rare with a baked potato and salad. Outback is one of those mediocre chain restaurants where the food is average. No matter which city I'm in, it's usually a 3-star experience because the food and service is inconsistent: one or the other is generally weak. The dining room was open but I wanted to take-away my food. The app did not allow me to customise my order for gluten-free, but I called in and they were very accommodating and took my order over the phone. When I arrived, the restaurant was packed and the parking lot full. There were numerous spots available for curb side pick-up; although there were already people waiting to pick up their orders, orders were flying out the door and I was served quite quickly. I ordered an 8 ounce sirloin medium rare, baked potato and side salad. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the salad crisp. As usual, the potato was a little "brickish": hard and tough. I'm not sure why Outback can't bake a potato correctly. It seems to be a common problem at all their locations. For some reason, even though I specifically stated that my food needed to be gluten-free not by choice but because of severe reactions, they put a loaf of bread in the bag with my order. Fortunately I've eaten at various Outbacks enough to recognise that the bread was not a gluten-free item. Big mistake though, and risks cross-contamination. They got the steak and salad right, service was good, so 4 out of 5 stars for a restaurant that typically only gets 3 read more

One of the newer location for this chain. The place was packed when I arrived. They share the parking lot with many other business, I was having hard time to find parking. The place has many big screen TVs and wide open bar space connected the dinning room, there is no walls separate the bar and the dinning room.The restaurant was clean and has lot of open space. I was greeted and seat promptly. I ordered the prime rib medium rare. It came out a bit on the rare side, but it was right where I wanted it. The reason was right not too overly seasoned like some of the prime ribs I had. The mix vegetables were not up to par, I did not really like the taste of it. I ordered the cheese cake with strawberry. It was good but not the best I had. The service was good, they have a very young wait staff, and is very green in some instances. I feel a bit rush when in the middle of my dinner I was asked if I want dessert, that was a bit of turn off for me,but she is super nice about it. What make they loose a star is the staff eating in front of the customer, that is a big no no for me. But the manager came over and apologized and make sure I feel comfortable. Overall a good experience for me,and I will be back if I am in the mood for Outback. read more

We heard all the buzz about the new location and decided to try it out. Neither my husband or myself had ever been to Outback but it's impossible in the US to not have seen all the commercials. It's talked about fairly frequently in a foodie FB group I'm in so I figured we had to see what all the fuss was about. This really is situated perfectly for ease of access both north and south of I-10. We showed up at 6pm and were sat with no wait. Those who came when 10 minutes later were not so lucky- this place was absolutely packed and has a steady stream coming in during our entire visit. Our server was Emily and she did a great job. They had many support staff to assist each server and I liked that concept. We ordered the blooming onion, chicken tenders and the Wednesday special ( they have daily specials) of the sirloin. My steak was cooked medium and absolutely perfect. Medium tends to end up medium well but not here. My fries were a bit salty but nothing o couldn't deal with. My husband's fries came out after he was done eating which was a bummer but we didn't complain. However the manager brought them out, apologized and gave us a discount which was unexpected but very nice. I thought that showed a great deal of care in recognizing that and being proactive even though we weren't upset. Everyone really was so friendly and managers were roaming about checking on people, bringing things out etc. It definitely made for a nice, laid back date night and we will definitely be returning. read more

The table had 8 chairs but not enough room for 8 people. After repeated requests they finally added a table for two so we could breathe and eat at the same time. With the pressure to order, we skipped appetizers and ordered entrees. They arrived at the table in varying degrees of "not hot enough" Two prime rib orders were sent back as inedible. The other steaks were tough and dry even though cooked to order. The non steak meals were tasty but should have been warmer. To top it off, while waiting for replacements to the inedible prime ribs, a server spilled au jus down the back of one of diners, soaking her blouse, scarf, slacks and leather jacket. While the management took actions to adjust the price of our dinner, it made for a very unenjoyable dining out experience. read more
