I am pleasantly surprised. I've been trying to stray away from chain restaurants, but we wanted something quick and close to home. For a Friday night the place was full but not super busy, we got a table immediately and our server swung by for drinks shortly after. We both ordered 6 oz steaks and shrimp with side salads (our server immediately explained there was no romaine for the Caesar salads which we understood) our food was DELICIOUS. The coconut shrimp was plump and super crispy, the citrus sauce on the side wasn't too sweet like most pineapple dipping sauces that come with coconut shrimp. my steak was perfectly cooked and the side of sautéed mushrooms were cooked in wine and delicious. my guests steak was a little under cooked and one of the chefs brought it back perfectly cooked and apologized. That is great customer service! Usually the sides are where most places fail but the broccoli was delicious and the macaroni was perfectly cheesy. Everything was great! read more

We came to outback at 8:11pm. The restaurant closed at 9pm. The Hostess didn't even pick up her head to say anything, she was chewing her food. My husband said hello and she asked how can I help you without even picking up her head. Then saying sorry we aren't seating anymore. As we watched, others are coming after us are be seated. How freaking rude is this place. Never coming to outback ever again and will be reaching out to corporate on how we were treated. read more

Crowded with little staff. Waited way past reservation time to be seated. Server nearly in tears from stress. Food was adequate although warm at best. No tables cleared in the two hours we were there. Bar person overwhelmed with orders. Management needs to get busy on operation overall. You can't put this mess on those who show up to work. I won't be a future patron. Ambiance non existent. read more

This might've been the worst dining experience I've ever had. The service was very slow and we were patient as it was slightly busy at arrival. It took 20 minutes before we were greeted to order drinks. Drinks then took 15 minutes to come and we didn't order our food until we were there for 45 minutes. The person that brought our appetizers burped in front of us at our table. When our steaks arrived they were raw and we asked the server for new ones. She grabbed them off our plate and said they would be reheated. The steaks came back still not cooked and seemed as if they were put in a microwave and not a grill. We asked to speak with a manager who told us the steaks couldn't be taken off the bill as we picked at the sides. read more

Decided to give the Outback another try on a slow Monday afternoon at about 2:30 pm. We ordered the Victoria Filet Mignon which did not disappoint. However, the rest of the meal was a huge disappointment. Our baked potato was not only super small but cold. How hard is it to serve a hot baked potato? What happened to those oversized potatoes? We ordered an upgraded signature chopped pecan salad since our beloved wedge salad has been discontinued. Please bring back the wedge! I was hoping the chopped pecan salad would be like a deconstructed wedge salad. It wasn't close to the crisp wedge lettuce with blue cheese dressing and that delicious balsamic glaze. Instead we were served limp iceberg lettuce drenched in a thin, overly sweet dressing. No tomatoes, no bleu cheese dressing, no onions that I could discern. It honestly looked and tasted like yesterday's left over salad. Please bring back the wedge salad. It used to be epic! Our service was fine, and the potato soup was good, but there is much room for improvement before obtaining any more stars. read more

Last night, my friend and I were very hungry. And you know how it goes when you're really hungry and you only got 1 shot and you want the food to be good. When I tell you our meal was SPECTACULAR from beginning to end. I've never had a blooming onion before and it was soooooo good. I couldn't stop eating it. I also had a Steak & Lobster Meal requested rare and this is the first time in a long time I had my steak cooked right. I was very happy. As well it was well seasoned and tender. I was beyond satisfied. Kudos to the chef. I can't remember my servers name but she was great. Everything we needed she got In a more than timely fasho. Over all, I had a really great time and I'm excited to come back. Thank you Outback Staff for all of your collective efforts that made our experience awesome. #ColorThaCritic read more

I'm a big fan of Outback, but this location falls a little short. I ALWAYS sit at the bar because I'm on a business trip and I'm eating alone. The bartenders here are not as attentive or professional as they could be. Another thing about the bar here: No matter where I sit (at the bar), I can smell the cleaning solution in the glass-washing sink. I don't want to smell cleaning fluids while I'm eating. The food is consistent with Outback standards - always pretty tasty. Overall - just OK. read more

My gluten allergy was not taken seriously/correctly by the kitchen. I have celiac disease, so I my food can't contain or have touched any gluten/wheat/bread products. My waitress marked all my items with a Gluten Allergy flag, but my salad came out with croutons on it, and my side of grilled shrimp came out, laying on a slab of bread. Worst service and a so so meal. The worst service at a slow time for this restaurant. 4 pm and only about 6 total tables and as far as we could see, we were her only table. 10 minutes between everytime we seen her and ask for thing or orders were taken and she was never seen. The onion blossom was over cooked and the steaks were only soso for premium ribeyes. My salad had a nasty rusty core for which they took 2 dollars off our bill. Sad service and ho hum food. Take your chances during slow time periods. read more

Warning: All Outbacks are NOT the same. That being said, this location could have been on another planet. First off, dirty silverware. Granted it could have been rolled into the napkin wet but it looked filthy. The Caesar salad had so much dressing it literally choked you and I grabbed for water. The plus, it was served cold. I like a cold salad. Too bad I couldn't finish it. The NY steak was requested medium. It came out cold center, raw, and it was cooked on a flat top. They didn't bother to season it with their trademark seasoning so it was tasteless. That went unfinished too. The two stars represents the restaurant and food. The server was five stars. He really should be working in a first class restaurant. Not this place. My tip represented his efforts. Thanks. Sorry I won't be back. Perhaps the place next door. read more

About 25 years ago there was an Outback in the Mayfield hts. area and it was fantastic. You could order a Flo's Filet and add for $1.00 an oz. The meat was cut to order and was always excellent. This is the first time I have been to the chain in about 2 decades and things have changed. The steak was 'good', not great and certainly not memorable. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. I suppose in short the steak went from really competing with stuffier more expensive establishments to a meat quality on par with what you would expect from a large every-day chain. If you are looking for an average steak in a comfortable atmosphere with average pricing ($20.00 for a good size steak) then stop in, it's good but for sure has lost that, WOW I need to come back and SOON factor. read more

I've been to other Outbacks before but this one was awful. The whole place smelled like sewage which is obviously unappetizing. If I wasn't with friends I would have left when I first smelled it. So I stuck it out. The French onion soup was ok. My boyfriend ordered a burger and the fries were cold and stale. The burger wasn't the best either. He said it tasted thrown together, like the flavors weren't cohesive. The service was mediocre. She dropped my spoon on the floor and took her time bringing me a new one. The same thing happened when my friend finished her drink. The waitress was nowhere to be found. Not one of my friends finished their food and I was so grossed out by the smell, I couldn't even finish my soup. In hindsight, I would have rather waited the 2 hours it would have taken for us to get a table at Melt. read more

Looks like Outback has jumped the shark. What used to be a really quality and unique steak house is now as shell of its former self. Arrived last evening to celebrate my birthday. We registered on line for seating and when we arrived were seated right away. Our drink order was taken and ordered a Blooming onion. The onion came and was very greasy. The steak was average at best sides were ok. I must say though the service was great and watires was very polite and knew the menu. The remodeling of the inside looks as if they are trying to look trendy. You would have no idea that it is a Australian themed restaurant. It reminds me of a restaurant you'd find in a hotel. If I choose to go to a chain steakhouse, I'll be going to Texas roadhouse. Same quality steaks, easier on my wallet. read more

It's been years since I've gone to Outback but my girlfriend was craving the unlimited shrimp deal. We both ordered the 6oz sirloin with unlimited shrimp. The food came out quickly and our server, Asia, was very attentive the entire way. The steak was cooked perfectly and we both opted for the wood fire option. This gave the steak a smoky wood flavor. The steak was seasoned well and was surprisingly juicy and tender. We both tried the 3 types of shrimp; fried (crispy), buffalo and scampi. Our favorite was the scampi. The shrimp was on the small side but it was cooked nicely in the butter sauce. The fried shrimp was good, but there was a bit too much breading. Skip the buffalo shrimp, its basically the fried shrimp in not-so-good buffalo sauce. read more

Ate here first night we arrived for a convention. 1-placed smelled like dishwater or a musty clothes hamper. 2- waitress obviously hated here job and when a friend asked a question about a cut of steak she was told "I don't eat meat, so, I think that one is better" 3- got the ribeye sandwich and the meat was cut so thin I thought it was a very inexpensive deli sandwich 4- even the beer had a funky taste 5- water glasses had that musty taste as well. Try bonefish next door or Melts down the road. I wouldn't eat here again for nothing. Not good at all. read more

I first went here to have dinner with a former teacher of mine and the service was average to say the least. We both ordered our entrees but shortchanged us with the salad, although we were both supposed to get a salad. Anyway, the food was very large in portion but very good. My main criticism would be seasoning. I ordered the garlic chicken and I felt it was a bit lacking in flavor and no amount of pepper would correct this. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were a saving grace to the dish, since the saltiness and the buttery taste of the potatoes and the freshness of the broccoli compensated the lack of flavor in the chicken. I would recommend going to this place but keep an eye on what you've ordered and don't e afraid to correct them for they are capable of error, sadly more often than expected. read more

My first time at this Outback and first impression is excellent! I was there at a Yelp event, tasting the new menu items launching on October 9, 2013. The staff is super friendly and nice and as always kudos to the Yelp staff for organizing another fun event! From the new menu items I loved the flat breads (Margarita and Chicken/Artichoke). I was sad that the Chicken/Artichoke flat bread came last cause I barely had any room left for it; otherwise I would've eaten the whole plate myself! The breaded mushrooms and the coconut shrimp are also a success! The BBQ chips tasted ok at first but then became too greasy for my taste. Can't wait for the new menu to launch so we can come back for more delicious food and great atmosphere. read more

This place is horrible excuse for a steakhouse. We had to ask for every item we ordered. The appetizer took 25 minutes. The salad another 15 had to ask for it. Ordered a baked potatoes with my dinner. They didn't bring is our with my pork chops. When they finally brought it. It wasn't cooked. Asked for another one said they where out. I attended my first Yelp Social Event here, and I had a great time!!! I have always been a big fan of Outback Steakhouse, so needless to say, I enjoyed everything! The complimentary Crisp Red Apple Martini and Sauza Gold Coast Rita drinks I had were spectacular! And they were the perfect compliment to the great new $4.00 "Bar Food" appetizer dishes we sampled. We had the opportunity to taste test: Coconut Shrimp with Creole Marmalade; Margarita Flatbread Pizza topped with Monterey Jack, parmesan, tomato, basil, and balsamic reduced glaze; Homemade BBQ Chips with jalapeño ranch sauce; Bloomin' Onion Petals with spicy Signature Bloom Sauce; Chicken Artichoke Flatbread with wood fire grilled chicken, spinach, artichokes and parmesan; Bushman 'Shrooms batter fried with spicy ranch sauce; and Short Rib Steakhouse Nachos (kettle chips topped with BBQ seasoning, cheddar sauce and short rib). My favorite samples were the Coconut Shrimp, the Bloomin' Onion Petals (my all-time Outback favorite) and the Margarita Flatbread Pizza. read more

If I could give only one star I absolutely would. I cannot express how disappointed I am in this establishment and management team. (Specifically Chris) a few weeks ago my friend and I were sick from the chicken. After informing our waitress she took our numbers and said someone would get back to us from management. This never happened. I called 48 hours later and spoke with Chelsea not only was she sincere and apologetic but she offered the option to report feedback directly to Outback corporate. After submitting feedback, there was a response stating we would hear from someone in 24-48 hours. This again did not happen. I called in today hoping for a resolution to only be dismissed by Chris assuring me that it was nothing Outback had done wrong. The only meal my friend and I shared was the Nashville hot wings and we were immediately sick in the parking lot after tasting bad chicken. I can only assume the color of my skin had a part to play in this. I expressed my concerns to a few colleagues of mine who are of opposite skin color and not only did one receive reimbursements, apologies, and gift cards for her incorrect order but also she was acknowledged. That is all I ever wanted from this horrible experience. So hopefully I will be heard now. Acknowledged now. If you are of color and unfortunate enough to be sick from this establishment, do not expect to be treated with respect. read more

We went to the Outback for my son's 18th birthday dinner. We love the Outback. I decided to go to the one in Independence instead of the Macedonia location. I was glad we did. We were seated promptly and the food was really good this time. The Bloomin' Onion was fried to perfection. I have never had one cooked so well, the crust was not falling off, it was great. The steak was seasoned well, tasted good and was cooked just like I wanted it. The waitress was awesome as well. She had a boot on her foot which I did not even notice until my children told me. She was moving around so fast and was so efficient I did not even notice. Kudos to her for working that kind of job with a boot on her foot, she is a strong young lady. Outback Steakhouse - 1/2 order of baby back ribs and Aussie fries the best - Steakhouses Near Me - Independence, Ohio

Revising my experience here to an even worse experience since I decided to give this place a second chance. I showed up for takeout and I ordered the aussie cheese fries. I receieved them and they were old as if they had been sitting for a period of time and in the smaller size than the one I had ordered (the order costing over $10) I ate maybe 12 fries and took them back to the window. I explained they weren't any good and that I wanted some fries made fresh. Shortly after the manager came out to dispute that I had eaten too many of them to warrant giving me a new fresh order in the same size I purchased and he was unwilling to replace my order in it's entireity. Note that the original order never did match the larger size I asked for. It's as if I was being accused of trying to get free food or something when I can barely eat a full order anyways, I just wanted the food I paid for, not the trash they were giving me. The second batch they brought out were fresh and completely different from the ones I had receieved originally. The other visit I didn't even eat because I was basically ignored for 10 minutes after being seated and the restaurant was empty. This outback truly is the most garbage poorly run Outback I've eaten at. You can compare this place with the Outback in Akron on Howe Avenue. I've eaten there for over 5 years and it's one of my favorite restaurants to go to. I've brought all my friends and family there because the food and service is amazing and I love to go back there. I'm tempted to drive 45 minutes from Cleveland just to get their good service again. Any problems you have here the staff have always fixed no questions asked. They're not cheap and don't try to punish their customers. Keep in mind this is during the covid pandemic when they should be grateful to have business. read more

This place is in dire need of staff training for the entire staff. Service was slow from our arrival, as the hostess had to work around her overlong fingernails in figuring out where to seat us in a place that was about 10% of capacity. Then we ordered, and the real fun began. I paid the extra for the chopped salad, only to find the cook staff didn't get the concept of "chopped". There was a piece of the lettuce core the size of a baseball right next to one the size of a golf ball in my salad, but the server was MIA so I put the chunks on the bread platter and ate the rest. Then the server arrives and asks if everything was ok. Apparently it is the norm for diners here to have to remove large chunks of lettuce. I ordered a filet, rare, and my spouse ordered the ribeye medium. When they finally arrived, mine was medium and hers was well done. This was a little much, so I flagged the server down as he sped past my table and requested another. Next comes the manager, who asks how she can help. I simply pointed at our steaks and told her how they did not match our orders. She offered to replace them but my wife did not want to wait. I asked how long it would take, and was told 6 minutes, so I said ok. If you guessed it would take 10, you win! And two people apparently from the cook staff came and wanted to see me slice it, I suppose to be sure I wasn't trying to cheat them somehow by not accepting their screwup. After all this, the server had the gall to ask if we wanted dessert. I held my tongue, because my first reaction was to ask if they hadn't screwed up enough orders for me yet. And of course, when the bill arrived no mention was made of the errors leading to a poor experience. They even kept the upcharge for my 2/3 of a chopped salad on there. I never imagined I needed to check Yelp for a national chain, but I wish I had for this place. read more

From the hostesses to the waitress and the manager this place needs some help. I showed the hostess that we received a text that our table was ready, and she said I don't know how, I don't have any clean tables available as she then proceeds to take another customer to a table. The waitress had about zero customer service personality. It took a seriously long time to receive our food. My daughter's shrimp was left off her dish and didn't arrive until everyone was almost finished eating. I ordered a chopped salad with cucumbers dressing on the side and it arrived with tons of dressing on it no cucumbers. By the time the replacement salad came again no cucumbers, I just asked for a box as everyone was done eating. As I went to put the salad into the box the entire bottom of the salad was covered in Cesar dressing. After receiving my bill and noticed I was charged for an additional salad I asked for a manager. She did remove my salad and gave me a free appetizer for next visit . read more

What a disappointment. We arrived, and the parking lot was pretty full, but found that it was for Bonefish Grill, which is located in the same building. We were seated immediately, but our server (Travis) was slow to arrive for our drink order. We needed to look at the wine and beer list, and he got bored waiting for us to make a choice, and just wandered off. He finally took the orders and turned to walk away before we could tell him we wanted a Bloomin Onion as well. The Bloomin Onion was overly browned and parts of it were hard, and the onions tasted like Scotch tape. The steak I ordered had a huge piece of gristle in it, to the point of being difficult to cut. I've never seen this happen at Outback before. My boyfriend ordered shrimp, and it was overly browned and hard as well. Our server started to clear the table, then just left the empty dishes sitting on the edge of the table, which was an accident waiting to happen. My friend had the blackberry sangria, which we agreed was very yummy. Our server disappeared and it took a while to get the bill, and then he took forever to ring it up and then bring it back. Once he dropped the bill off, we never saw him again. All in all, food was VERY subpar compared to other Outbacks I've been to, and the service was less than good. Go to Bonefish Grill instead. read more

I didn't like how they serve. They gave the food without fork or spoon. And I asked them twice to have napkin

My boyfriend and I went to Outback Steakhouse in Independence tonight and it was the worst experience that we've ever had in our lives and we are in the service industry so we were trying to understanding but it was bad. We were seated at a booth and the bench on my boyfriends side was filthy so we had to wait for our server to clean it. We were rushed to order drinks and appetizers and then we could hear the server complaining when he went to the back because my boyfriend told him that he forgot our waters. We had the wings for an appetizer they were SALTY. My boyfriend's loaded potato soup was salty as well he had to trade it for a salad that had a lot of brown lettuce but he didn't say anything. When I ordered my entree I got the 6oz with shrimp a baked potato (no bacon because I stated that I do not eat bacon) and broccoli. I tried my broccoli and immediately spit it out back on to the plate. It was super soft and tasted like it was cooked with bacon fat. I gave it to my boyfriend and he confirmed it. When we asked for the manager it took way too long for her to come out and when she did she didn't even look at my plate but proceeded to argue with my boyfriend for several minutes about how she sure it wasn't pork in it. At that point we just were ready to leave she said she would take care of the bill we tipped the waiter and left very much upset and we still had to go get food. The manager was horrible all we wanted her to do was acknowledge that the kitchen could have made a mistake because we know that these things happen and take the plate away because everything tasted like that, but she was very rude and argumentative even after my boyfriend mentioned that he was an employee at Carrabbas she was still just rude and nasty I would never recommend anyone to go there. read more
