    Cajun calamari
    Amy J.

Although the calamari smelled my car up like ammonia, the Cajun spiced app was in decent portion for $13ish and came with a rather bland perhaps Cajun aioli type sauce. The calamari was crispy and light and flaky! It was super fresh and not hard, rubbery, or stale. What they don't tell you is that your order- despite being placed ahead by phone- will not be made til you arrive and pay. This was not a problem to wait 6 minutes for calamari, but if I'd had more food ordered I'd have been pretty mad waiting for it as the whole point of pickup is for it to be ready when you arrive...

Soooo this place is a hit or miss! I'm from Miami and I love seafood and KNOW quality seafood. This place played lol. The portions are big, the prices are good, but the taste.... the taste was bland.. it didn't have that "mmmmhmmm" eyes rolling flavor lol. We ended up coming here because the other place that we originally wanted to try does not do dine in until 4pm. I was low key pissed because I really wanted to try it out! Moving on.. The drinks ( mojito) were a miss.. tasted syrup and very tart. The server was great with a great vibe so he made it accommodating. If I was to visit again, I would not eat here. ( I know good seafood)

Cajun Fried Catfish and Cajun Fries.

I tried this place on a whim and it sadly did disappoint me a little. I ordered the Cajun Fried Catfish and Cajun Fries and everything looked so good. The fillets were a nice size, the breading was beautiful and there were a ton of fries but, everything was so bland. I shouldn't NEED ketchup or hot sauce on my food but I definitely did. It looked so good and I really wanted it to be better than it actually was. The service though was much better! They were all so nice! Over the phone and in person the two women I dealt with were super sweet. The one that took my order over the phone sounded like she was smiling while talking to me. The one in person kept checking with me giving me an update on how long it would be. These two were fabulous. If only the food was as good as their service though.

The only other seafood shake bag I've ever had in Cleveland was from Boiler 65 and this place was much better. That's why it's getting two stars. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the corn was absolutely divine. They say that the Combos are for one person, but they're sizeable and can definitely be shared with a side. I was most impressed by the corn. It was well salted and buttery and sweet. The potatoes were horrifying though. They were overdone and one of my friends had a moldy potato. It was disgusting. If you come here definitely ask if you can substitute the potatoes for corn.

Stumbled upon seafood shake with a group of friends and this may have been one of our best discoveries to date! Entered the restaurant around 330pm on a Saturday and received a table with no wait. Each table is line with paper and has paper towels, gloves and bibs which allow for a no mess experience. Happy hour ended at 4pm (yes they have HH on Saturday, win!) so we ordered drinks and crispy calamari form the HH special menu. My drink with the cucumber Effen vodka was refreshing and very tasty. The calamari was crispy fried to perfection. We dipped the calamari in the yum yum sauce and it was great. The calamari was gone in a matter minutes. I also tried the clam chowder. As a self proclaimed clam chowder connoisseur, this was one of the best I've tried. It was served hot and you could taste the freshness with each bite. For our entree, my boyfriend and I split the seafood shake classic combo and ordered additional red potatoes. We got the shake sauce on it and WOW, it was simply amazing! I totally wasn't expecting this great of an experience and I enjoyed every bite. I will certainly be back the next time I'm in Cleveland and will spread the word of this goodness to all of my local friends. Great job, seafood shake!

Hard to say a bad thing about this place. This style restaurant is my absolute favorite. Love suckin' heads! Used to eat at joints like this all the time in Southern California. So nice to see a similar establishment of such high quality in Cleveland. Seafood was delicious. Sauces were on point. They had sinks - which is a must for this kind of eating. Bonus points for having a decent variety of non-seafood menu items for those in your party that don't do the crustacean thing. Start offering lime wedges and this is a 5-Star destination!

Awesome!!! So glad there's one that's decent by my house Food came in 6 mins. But when it's busy it's a little more time consuming. They're still working the kinks out and are hiring meaning business is good but service can be slow. I was in and out in less than an hour with food to go!

    Clam Chowder

I only had 30 minutes to run in here, order, and eat before I had to dash over to an event down the street. First impression is that it is clean, has nautical themed decor (lobsters in nets), and quiet with only a couple people including myself at 6pm on a Friday. I sat at the bar and a young lady named Andrea served me, she was friendly and helpful. I decided to go with the clam chowder and the fried shrimp. The clam chowder was nothing special but I added in some of their house sauce that they toss the seafood boils in and it really make the chowder so much better with a nice little kick to it. The Shrimp are jumbo sized and you get about nine of them. I added the cajun? spice to the breading. Just a warning that the shrimp are not deveined if you care about that. So while I am sitting at the bar by myself this guy comes in and legit starts casually flirting with the bartender. So awkward to watch, I felt like I was ruining things by sitting there trying to eat my chowder (with a huge black spoon by the way, seriously, who has a mouth that big?). "Hey, you remember me?... I left that job at Mongolian BBQ ... oh you do makeup? I'm starting to get into photography, you should give me your number.... *burp* oh excuse me so sorry about that". And she just played right along with it all cool while handing him a beer (no food, he just came to drink and chat). So overall, this place is okay. Nothing bad, but nothing really tasty. I would still like to come back and try one of their seafood boils though.

Seafood Lovers, Shake Sauce, Medium spicy
    Siroda D.

Decided to check this place out since this seafood-in-a-bag concept is becoming popular in the area. I also wanted to see how they redid the old Winking Lizard. It's nautical themed, but not really in your face. We (party of two) went on a Thursday night and were seated right away. There is quite a bit of seating and there were only 2 other occupied tables around 8:30p. They have a small bar that only offers beers and wine. That was a little disappointing. We ordered the Seafood Lovers combo and it came with calamari. We got it seasoned with "Shake sauce" which is Lemon Pepper, Cajun and Garlic together and we asked for it to be medium spicy. We could have went extra spicy. It wasn't enough for somebody who really enjoys spicy foods. The food came out quickly. Within 5 minutes or so. The calamari was really good, my SO liked it more than I did. I didn't care for the long calamari pieces as opposed to the round bits that I'm used to. The seafood was more than enough to share. 2 large crab legs, a ton of crawfish, mussels, and shrimp. It also had corn and potatoes. We really enjoyed getting to the bottom for all the seasoning. We were also provided with gloves and bibs but had to ask our server for forks and crab crackers. The process was super messy, but enjoyable. I wish that we had been offered wet naps at the end. I'm not sure if they don't have them or if they need to be requested. Overall, it was a cool way to spend an evening. Getting to eat with your hands without looking like a complete barbarian. I got to teach my SO how to eat crawdads ahead of our trip to New Orleans too. As others have mentioned, you can get to the ice cream shop through the restaurant. I had intended to check it out but there were a ton of people in there and I was impatient lol. Another time.

The food looks messy but it was delicious! And the environment and service are on point.

I called to let them know, and the young male cashier who answered the phone acted like I was bothering him. He said he would "go ask the manager what to do," put me on hold, and then hung up on me. When I called back, he hung up again without saying anything. So I drove up there -- even though I didn't really have the time my because fiancé recently had surgery on his leg so I'm taking care of him-- and yet things got even worse. In person, the same cashier cut me off while I was speaking, told me to my face that I was wrong, and said he had already checked the order (which clearly wasn't true). When I tried to explain, he got loud, threw my receipt on the floor, and kept arguing with me in front of other customers. His tone, attitude, and behavior were unbelievably disrespectful and unprofessional. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, stayed calm, and offered to make the missing items for me -- which I appreciated but while speaking with him the cashier would interject with rude, condescending and callous remarks, trying to continue the argument. The cashier placed the bag on the counter and refused to even acknowledge me. He just stared away like I wasn't standing there. The manager saw this too, and ended up moving him to the back room and handing me the food himself. My little sister was also disrespected when she came in to pick up our initial order. He would say "I can't really help you" and would walk away to sit on his phone and put his feet up on the counter. How are you the cashier manning the counter and can't give someone their order?. He gave the same response to another lady as well. We usually go to the Lee's Seafood Boil in Solon. The food is amazing there and the customer service is some of the best I've ever had. While the one on Lee Rd is the exact opposite and they're extremely greasy in comparison. We will never be returning to the Lee Rd location and will forever stick with Lee's In Solon. Manager: 4/5 - respectful, professional, and made it right. Cashier: 0/5 - rude, dishonest, disrespectful, and completely out of line. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. No one deserves to be treated like that. I won't be coming back unless serious changes are made -- starting with that cashier.

One Pot is excellent, the food is high quality, the decor is exceptional and the experience is all kinds of fun. Prices are reasonable, $20 at lunch and $30 at dinner for all you can eat. Service is great, the food comes out quickly and they pay attention to the little things, clearing extra dishes, replacing the grill cover, refilling the fluid in the hot pot. If you haven't done this before the food comes out raw and you cook it yourself at the table either on the grill in the center of the table or in the boiling pot in front of you. Cooking the food can have a bit of a learning curve and different food can be easier or harder to get right, but even so most of the food comes out great. Some of the proteins come out premarinated, others can be enhanced with the sauces, oils and seasonings at the back bar area. The protein choices include meats, chicken and seafood, there are a nice variety of vegetables, rice and in the hot pot noodles and various dumplings. I really need to call out the decor; One Pot has a great Korean pop art style that is amazing. My friend Dan did a trip to Korea this spring and he said that it really reminded him of being in Korean. If you want to have a great high protein meal that is fun and a bit of an adventure I would highly recommend giving One Pot a try. Previous review: I finally got to try One Pot for a Friday lunch and boy did I enjoy myself. One Pot is located in Coventry Village in a free standing building next to the parking garage. From the outside One Pot looks upscale and conservative, that changes as soon as you walk in the door, the front alcove has a giant silver spaceman and multicolor bears plus plenty of chrome. Inside you get even more of the Pop art bears along with other great décor touches; this would be a great stop before or after going to the Murakami exhibit at the Art Museum. One Pot offers a choice of either all you can eat Korean BBQ or Hot Pot. The menu is clear and allows you to choose what you want with pictures to assist. I choose the BBQ even though I was a bit limited with only the fish, seafood and vegetables. The tables are all set up with receptacles for the hot pots in front of each seat and a grill in the middle of the table. Ordering was easy and they also have QR codes that allow you to order directly on your phone. The food comes out incredibly quickly, of course no cooking is necessary to slow things down. The grill on my table took a bit of time to get heated up, but once it did I was ready to go. The actual cooking is fun and easy, you place your food on the grill, keep an eye on it, flip it over and when ready you take it off and eat the fresh, hot food. I stuck mainly to the proteins: garlic shrimp, giant shrimp, spicy calamari, spicy fish and mussels. I did also get some eggplant, oyster mushrooms, sweet potato and white rice. There are a couple of little buffets with sauces, toppings, kim chi and some daikon and jalapenos. I went through quite a bit of shrimp, calamari and fish all of which were great. Among the best were the garlic shrimp, the spicy calamari, the jumbo shrimp, eggplant and mushroom. A couple of things to note, the giant shrimp were excellent, but they do come still in the shell and with the head on, not a big deal for me, but some people could be grossed out; I could not get the sweet potato to cook properly on the grill, just a bit disappointing. As a Korean place I was also a bit disappointed that the banchan (side dish) selection was so limited, but that is just nit picking. I do have to shout out the service, it was attentive and helpful, without being rushed. One Pot is a great experience and it is great to go to an AYCE place and have delicious high-quality food yet still not feeling overstuffed. The décor is outstanding, the menu is clear and concise. Despite the grills in the table I never felt overheated or had any issue with smoke from the food cooking. Really well thought out all the way around. While not inexpensive One Pot is a good value for what you get. I will be going back both to try the hot pot selection and to do the Korean BBQ again. This is your place on the East Side if you want some great Korean BBQ or just feel like protein loading. Get yourself to Coventry and enjoy.

Most Italian restaurants offer complimentary bread for the table, but Mia Bella charges extra for it. That wouldn't bother me as much if the bread were something special, but it was extremely ordinary. It was warm, but otherwise pretty tasteless; no garlic, garlic butter, herbs, or anything else to make it memorable. I'd definitely skip the bread and order a legitimate appetizer instead.
