We drove up from Columbus and had a wonderful experience. It was an intimate dinner even in a packed restaurant. This was our first time dining here, and the inside was refined and inviting, service was great, and the food was yummy! We started with the Gulf Shrimp Cocktail and a bread basket. For dinner, I had the Pan Roasted Salmon with Maine lobster risotto, haricot vert and lobster velouté. Definitely recommend. Chris started with the Lobster Bisque and had the Walleye with mashed potatoes. Everything was so good. We wrapped up dinner with Crème Brûlée for dessert and they even brought it out with a candle. They also have a great wine selection and got some recommendations for some good Italian wines. Overall, this was a great choice for a nice evening out. Great seafood, great service and a comfortable atmosphere. We would definitely dine here again. Definitely a must experience for your list.

I did make a few notes on the day of, so hopefully those suffice! So about 12 others from my foodie group and I dined at Salmon Dave's for a group lunch in April of 2025. The interior is cute and decorated like a fish joint off the coast of Florida. We had made reservations beforehand, but it was clear they were still understaffed. It took a bit too long for our food to arrive. I think we waited about 45 minutes for our mains to arrive. We all munched on the free bread while we waited. The bread was okay - standard white crusty bread. The service was also pretty good. Our waters were always kept pretty full but our waitress wasn't much for conversation - just kept things pretty serious. I ordered fried fish for my main (I am pretty picky about how I like fish prepared). My fried fish dinner was massive! I have never seen a fried fish as big as the one I had at Salmon Dave's. It was good too which is why my review is 4 stars instead of 3 or 3.5 stars. The coleslaw is a liquidy mush of nothing - don't bother getting this. In short, I paid about $40 after tax and tip for my fish fry lunch and while it took a while to arrive and I wasn't impressed with the sides, my friends and I had a good time! I was very impressed with the fish too!

We ordered a whipped ricotta to start which was really delicious, I was eating with a fork once we ran out of bread haha Assorted dishes around the table included the veggie pasta, vodka pasta, lobster Mac, burger and Italian sandwich. Companions thought the Italian was a little dry and the burger was a little poorly constructed/falling apart. Otherwise, really no complaints! Both pastas were very good, I had the vodka with meatballs and really enjoyed it. Also huge portions, I took home basically half my plate. Meatballs weren't the best ever but did the job. The fries were also a highlight, like the best version of a McDonald's fry. Great experience if not for a few missed orders

So many great restaurants in Little Italy that it's hard to walk in to a random establishment and not have a great meal. But this little bar tucked away at the corner right before heading up Mayfield hill is a hidden gem. It's not a big place. It's not fancy. It's a "bar". But I promise you... they have GREAT food here! There's always a crowd at the actual bar during the few times I've gone, but for as small as the dining area with tables is, I'm a bit surprised as to why it isn't full of diners more often. Perhaps because they've labeled themselves a "bar" and maybe most passerby's think you can only drink there. So this is my one little way of getting the word out: EAT @ BORGATA!!! You won't be disappointed... Especially if you try the blackened chicken Alfredo! Perfectly seasoned, super tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, with the 3 pieces of the most perfect garlic toast - it's carb heaven on a plate!!! DO IT!! One of the greater things about this establishment is that if you savor and enjoy your meal and drinks patiently enough and not rush out, you'll likely meet the chef as he goes from table to table asking how you are enjoying your meal. Twice I've had a nice conversation with Chef Armun, this time a little extended as we got to know more about each other. One of my friends happen to mention that it was my birthday. Jerk! (something I don't really like to announce). Then something happened when we were done with our meal and were on our way out. Chef Armun stopped us and said "Can you give me 5 minutes? You can't leave yet." I'm confused, but said "oooohkay, sure." A few minutes passes by and comes out with a slice of the most decadent cake with a candle on it and the whole place started singing happy birthday! For sure an occasion I will always remember. And it's things like this that endear places and people near your heart... where and when you truly feel treated as friend or family by a small, local business. To Chef Armun and Borgata... thanks for the impactful experience!! To everyone reading this: EAT & DRINK @ BORGATA! You won't be disappointed!

The bread pudding was delicious and soft with layers of flavor. It had a caramel sauce and tasteful strawberry fruit accent. The garlic toast was fantastic and a perfect mix of loaded on garlic and butter and not too thick bread so it wasn't dry or hard at all. The salad with shrimp was impressive. The shrimp on the salad (3 for $4) are huge! Yum. The chef came out when I got my food and let me know he labeled everything on the outside which was a thoughtful and helpful gesture! Let's start with the good-The room is warm and nicely lit. The valet parking very convenient and the food was very good. The Caesar salad was delightful. Generous amount to share. The dressing lightly coated each piece of lettice, and it came with anchovies. My veal parm was well prepared and the pasta was cooked just right. Our companion had a veal chop, although expensive, was tasty. The scampis with clam sauce was well prepared and tasty. The server was very good in the beginning. She initially was very helpful and brought us drinks and kept the diet coke glass filled. Now the bad-The steps to the bathroom are steep and narrow. The dining room has a lot of steps to get in. At the end of the evening we had to wait 20 minutes for the server to bring us our check. The owner, to his credit did get the valet ticket and had our car waiting when we finally could pay and get out. Other than those few glitches the experience was OK. I'm not sure I'd drive 60 miles to eat here again.
