I was in the area and wanted to try LockKeepers. I am always a fan of the Savour Hospitality, which owned Il Venetian, and Marble Room. The first course was complimentary breads with olive tapenade. The breads were so rustic and delicious. The olive tapenade was a great dipping sauce. For appetizer, I got fried calamari. It was a modern Italian twist. The fried calamari was so tender. It had light breading. It was fried together with olives, sun dried tomatoes, sliced shiitake mushrooms and some basils. It was so good that I kept eating it. For entrees, I got the bone-in CAB ribeye. It was cooked medium rare. The steak was juicy, tender and had a little bite to it. The asparagus was great in the dish. However, I was not too keen on crispy potatoes with Gorgonzola cheese. The cheese kinda made the potatoes a bit salty. I didn't enjoyed it at all. The beef short rib was another entree I tried as well. It was tender but the flavor was not deep and complex. Overall, the restaurant did a good job with the food. LockKeepers is an elegant restaurant set in an historic area. The bar is well stocked and the cocktails were hardy. The menu has creative offerings of flavorful entrees and desserts. Fantastic service!!! Parking was a bit of a challenge as a neighboring diner type restaurant has laid stake to most spots but worth the wasted gas to drive around and look for a spot. I'd suggest uber or Lyft to the restaurant especially on busy evenings, ambiance was good and the food was spectacular, in fact so good I wolfed it down before a proper pic. I had the seasonal celery & cherry salad which was incredible, absolute explosion of tastiness and roasted celery seed on top a bed of arugula, Brie, cherries and homemade sauerkraut TOPPED with smiley mustard vinaigrette??!!! So many live languages spoken with that! The others in our party had the halibut with creamy corn and wine seared carrots and the ever pleasing chicken parm. I challenged myself to clean up that salad and did so ... sooooo I got the mango, tropical tiramisu which was equally as delicious as the rest of our meal. read more

I had heard a lot about LockKeepers prior to the visit, I tried to tune it all out so I could take it all in. I don't drink anymore, so seeing a non alcoholic drink section was nice to see. I was made aware that the base of the Aplos was very herbal and tart. The first one brought to me was very tart. Very, very tart. I was not a fan, my dad was going to drink it, our waitress: Deja noticed and offered to have it remade. I accepted, the bartender came out to drop it off and explained how she changed it up. She stood by me and waited until I tried it. A bit much, it was better. The tartness was only at the end for a brief moment. They didn't have a specific gluten free menu, but Deja did tell us what was naturally gluten free and/or could be modified. A lot of the food is made in house. A lot of it looked appealing, but they had gluten free noodles that were not made in house. So I went with a trusted filet mignon cooked medium. The demi glace was an excellent touch. The potatoes were pretty good. The broccolini wasn't what I was hoping for. My parents dishes were much larger. Leftovers were had and enjoyed on a second day. I would maybe try the short ribs next time we would go. The building is very rustic and decorative. The bathroom is upstairs; an elevator is present is needed. A very interesting place. Staff and kitchen very accommodating. The prices are high for the amount you're given. Would love some in house pasta that is gluten free with an in house sauce. I was there primarily for the company. Not my favorite spot. I would be willing to go again. read more

What a treat this was as a date night. Patio seating has a great view of the canal and towpath with the sun setting behind you. On top of the excellent food we had. The service we experienced was very attentive and took care of all of our needs. It's also nice that their specials rotate regularly and you can always enjoy something different that's not on their regular menu. read more

The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive and precise. He was very accommodating and professional. The food was very good. Everyone loved their dishes. The lobster pasta was a big hit. The ribeye was fantastic. My filet was a bit overcooked but good. The ambiance is upscale casual. They have a full bar and great drink options. Came here for my birthday dinner. Had reservations at 5pm. Per the site they had happy hour during this time however no happy hour menu was given to us. Place is clean and big (2 floors). We started off with the calamari which was delicious then ordered the Caesar salad. I was between ordering the lobster ravioli and the seafood risotto. Decided on the seafood risotto which was very good and had a good portion size but I will probably opt for the ravioli next time. My husband was between the filet and ribeye. The ribeye was over cooked and you can see below (& Taste) the grilled charred on steak. Probably will lean towards seafood at this restaurant over steak. Stopped in for happy hour Friday evening before we went to the movies to see wicked. They have a great happy hour menu!! Bartenders were attentive and friendly. Had some delicious red wine paired with a few apps (pepperoni pizza, sun dried tomato dip and chips, cheese plate, Cesar salad) and had to top it off by the seasonal dessert which was to die for!! The restaurant is super cute inside and our server Karen was great. That's pretty much the reason for the high rating because, the food wasn't as good as we anticipated. Everything was very bland. It wasn't horrible - but bland! After we went home and added salt it was good but for the prices I figured it would've came seasoned. The pear martini was awesome and so were the meatballs and polenta. I want to come back for happy hour because they have another menu for happy hour that seems more appealing to me. We had an amazing team dinner at LockKeepers. Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing. We started off with some varied cocktails and wine, along with calamari, bread, antipasto, meatballs, and grilled artichokes. We also tried a featured appetizer that was crab and lobster, it was over the top delicious! We ordered a variety of entrees including steaks, chicken parmesan, and beef short rib. Many of us also started with a Caesar salad that was delicious! Our server was a real gem, I apologize for forgetting his name. For dessert we had a variety of options again, many of us chose the affogato, but the bundino and the creme brulee were delicious as well. Honestly I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu here, it will definitely be a required stop the next time I'm in the area. read more

Not a fan of the food quality. I chose the beef short ribs. Tasted dry, and IMHO worse than overcooked pot roast with fat completely rendered out. My wife's chicken dish was much better. Kids had some unremarkable pasta. Even the calimari app was short on substance and loaded with adornment. Bottom line, the artfully presented food is low on quality and value. Most laud the service here but for us it was average. A bit of bad luck on atmosphere as the large table next to us was loud and throwing F-bombs in earshot of our young children. YMMV.... read more

Arrived at an odd time around 2:25pm for a late lunch. The restaurant was fairly quiet and we enjoyed the ambience with a faint hint of music in the background. There was plenty of space and we were greeted by our server Nichole. Parking is behind the restaurant and down a slight incline. Drop off your elderly family members and the staff are great about helping with your family members. Service: very good and attentive. Nichole checked on us and made sure our water was filled. I was part of a group of 8 for a birthday party at 11:30 this week. Our waiter was wonderful, attentive and very efficient. I ordered the special, which was swordfish on a bed of various vegetables. It was very tasty, well prepared, not a huge portion but enough for me. Pricey, but that's how things are these days. At that early time of the day the place was not very crowded, I was surprised to realize that the restrooms are upstairs, the ladies room kind of hidden a bit. Yes, there is an elevator for those who have issues with the steep steps up to that second floor. Parking is an issue, I had arrived early and got a spot close to the entrance, but I cannot imagine going later in the day or even evening. I am not a valet parking user. You can park across the street or in the back. Although it was a good experience, I would not go back unless being invited to some kind of special occasion. read more

The interior was nicely decorated with a Christmas theme. The menu is mostly Italian and fabulous. It's quite difficult to make a selection.
