The beef tenderloin was tender and delicious. The funghetto is in a sauce with tomatoes and herbs on top of the tenderloin. Aside of the tenderloin was gently sautéed fresh broccoli, green and red peppers as well as yellow squash and carrots. Also included was a side of spaghetti in a tasty marinara sauce. I had the house salad with traditional dressing of oil and vinegar. I would only advise with the crunchy bread to be a little more generous. With three small pieces my friend knows I want more than two so she gets a little upset when I take two. I did ask for more bread though and Matteo brought it. Thank you Matteo! I met Aldo, the original owner long ago so we have been dining here a long time. My friend Barb said her parents used to bring her to Aldo's at the holidays and her birthdays when she was younger. The rucola salad was a very fresh classic expression of the staple. The pappardelle bolognese reminded me of an experience in Rome at Osteria del Sostegno. I'm not truffle connoisseur, but decided to try something new. Based on our conversation with the chef who approached our table after dinner, he was dreaming of hosting this dinner forever. There was always something that came in the way until this decadent evening. I'll share my experience from the special dinner. AMBIENCE: Palazzo is like a gallery meets fine Italian restaurant. There are plenty sculptures including Michelangelo's David replica. Paintings of ballerinas reminding me of Degas. Walls of wine bottles, predominance of stone accents, and a small vase fountain transport you to Italy. Touches like backlights and wine bottle walls make the atmosphere romantic. The restaurant has multiple dining room spaces. There is also a wooden bar. There is also a covered patio. During our visit the restaurant was extremely crammed. The dinner was sold out. Tables were so close together that it was challenging to navigate between them. Guests had to move their tables to let someone pass through - other patrons or staff. I did not feel comfortable with these seating arrangements. The restaurant was very extremely loud. I couldn't sit comfortably without bumping my chair into other guests. I'm not sure how the dining layout looks like during regular days. Hopefully there is more room at the restaurant. The bathroom is in the basement, so not ADA accessible. The ceiling in the bathroom was awkwardly low. FOOD: Our dinner was 6 course experience for $125 (no tax, no gratuity, and no drinks included). First course (Antipasto) was Pera Sacchetti - Pasta Pillows, Pear, Formaggio,Truffle Cream Sauce, Fig Balsamic. Second course (Insalata) was Arugula - Black Truffle Oil & Shaved Parmesan. Third course (La Pasta) was Cheese Tortelloni & Sea Scallops - Shaved Fresh Truffle, Butter, Garlic. Fourth course was (Pesce Pan Seared Halibut) Black Truffle Cream Sauce & Roasted Rainbow Carrots. Fifth course (Mare e Monti) was Grilled Filet Mignon Medallion & Petite Butter Poached Lobster Tail Truffle Butter & Cauliflower Purée. Sixth course (Dolce) was Truffle Cream Filled Cannoli. Every course featured generous amount truffles and was very well crafted. I loved Mare e Monti, filet mignon and lobster were well prepared. While the courses were pretty petite, the dinner was filling. Considering the dinner menu, it was good value. Beyond the dinner, my friends really enjoyed wines. I ordered Prickly Pear mocktail ($10). It was okay, but not really flavorful. It was too ginger beer forward. It was pleasant to seem multiple mocktail options. SERVICE: It was wonderful that the chef personally greeted every table. I enjoyed learning about his story. It was a nice touch for him to speak with the guests. The rest of the service was average. The hostess was not very pleasant which set a bad first impression. Our waiter was fantastic but awkward. He kept taking away wine glasses and bringing back the same glasses. There was a lot of confusion with drink orders, and the wrong bill included the wine. Perhaps this was due to handling a large crowd. EVENTS: The restaurant is planning other upcoming events. For instance, Lenten dinner ($55) on Wednesday and Friday (February 18-April 2). PARKING: The restaurant has a very small parking lot with an incline. Arrive very early if you want to secure a spot. There is really no street parking nearby. You can park at the RTA bus station across the street. Parking experience is inconvenient. I'm conflicted on how to rate this restaurant. I enjoyed dinner, presentation, mood, and personal chef approach. I didn't like the table arrangements, service, and parking. If the service was warmer and less rushed, I would be all about this restaurant.

Our dinners were reasonably priced under $15 and included soup or salad and soft delicious bread. My husband ordered soup (tomato bisque) and chicken Marsala. I ordered soup and salad(to share) and the carbonara dinner. I loved the soup. It was amazing, in fact I'll go on record saying it was the best tomato bisque soup I have ever had. The salad that we shared was topped with carrots and a bit of mozzarella. My Carbonara was extra creamy and rich. Great flavor! My husband liked the Marsala although commented he'd wished his chicken breast had been larger, but the gnocchi it was served with kept him full and happy. Altogether a great carry out dinner. We were seated immediately, and our server was attentive and helpful, making us feel welcome and even offering suggestions on their best-selling pizzas. I ended up ordering the sausage pizza, and while the pizza as a whole was outstanding, the sauce was the best I have ever had. Whatever their sauce recipe is, it was unbelievable, and it will be difficult to top that particular sauce. My friend enjoyed his pizza as well, saying it was one of the best pizzas he had ever tasted. Il Rione is one of the best pizzas I have ever had. We shared an appetizer - Nonna's sausage bread which was a delicious combination of sausage and mozzarella stuffed inside some type of bread and marinara on the side. For my entree I had the pesto genovese - which is rigate pasta with pesto, zucchini, and sun-dried tomatoes and I added chicken. It was very flavorful and delicious. My dad had the traditional lasagna and he said it was "ok" but he's not one for many compliments ha!
