Today I picked up a dozen cupcakes to take home for a family dinner to help celebrate my nieces 7th birthday. When I advised my family we would all need to try each of the flavors they grabbed their own cupcakes and ran to opposite corners of the house (we never were very good at sharing). I managed to tackle most of them without breaking any skin with the fork I was waving and did get a little taste of each. Here are the results: (Cake flavor/icing flavor) Chocolate/Chocolate: You could literally smell the chocolate frosting emanating from the box before opening it. The cake was moist and flavorful and the chocolate icing was the best I have ever had. It had a lot of chocolate flavor instead of just being sugary sweet. Dark chocolate/white icing: This was better than the regular chocolate cake because it was less sweet which complemented the white icing well. Almond/vanilla: The almond flavor was strong and a little unexpected but it was delish. Red Velvet/Cream Cheese: The flavor of the cake was subtle but in my opinion better than most red velvet I have had. Red Velvet/Chocolate: perhaps I am just a purist but I don't think this combo worked. Stramberry/Vanilla: Strawberry flavor was excellent - did not taste fake at all- very fresh and subtle. One of my favorites. Lemon/Vanilla: This was by far my favorite. I love lemon to begin with so this is not a big surprise. This cupcake alone would bring me back to the cupcakery. The best part was that my niece loved trying all the different flavors and based on her reaction I am pretty sure I have a mini yelp monster in the making. After finishing the cupcakes she wrote down each flavor and rated the each with check marks and X's for different components. I met Linda the owner and it was clear she takes pride in her products and reputation. My only complaint is that I did mention I found out about the CupCakery on Yelp and she did not offer 2 free cupcakes (since I ordered 12) I was unaware of this deal until I signed on today but perhaps she just forgot? Either way, at $24 it was well worth the price for 12 gourmet cupcakes. As some of the others have stated, there is also a cute little area where you can decorate your own cupcake. Terrible. Emailed for a wedding cake tasting. Prompt response. Responded to an email with the flavors we wanted to try. No response. Sent the same email again days later. They finally responded. Set up and paid for a tasting 2/25/23. Day of, received a text from Laura stating she had to cancel because her husband and child were sick. Said we could pick up our tasting box to-go, even though we wanted and paid for an in-house tasting. Her text also stated that the other workers wouldn't be able to help us as they were busy w another event. Annoyed, picked up the box. Very small bakery. Upon walking in, there was a cupcake class or something being taught to 8-10 children. It was super loud and all their parents were standing around in the small area.. right next to the "wedding consult" table/corner we were originally supposed to have our appt at. Literally stuffed in a corner with a whole class of screaming kids a couple feet away. Not what I envisioned for our wedding cake tasting. You think that they'd have a clue as to not book a wedding tasting & a kids class in the same time slot. And then relay that no one could help us w our event bc they were busy with another event, that was apparently more important. Took our box of four cupcakes, left. Frosting was hard, idk how long they had been sitting there on the rack waiting for us to pick it up. It was also very thick and sugary, not light and airy at all. Strawberry cake definitely tasted like boxed cake mix, there is no way that was homemade. Which leads me to believe everything else is boxed mix too. Champagne flavor cake mix was disgusting, I had to spit it out. If you're looking for a wedding cake bakery... this ain't it, sis. 0/5 I do not recommend. Quality and taste are lacking considerably and they more or less skate by as a "quaint local bakery". Hard pass from me, never again. And definitely not at my wedding. read more

While visiting family in Dublin, OH we went to see the sights in town. This really is a lovely quaint area. And while walking around we came upon this bakery that makes great cupcakes. I had a chocolate cake with chocolate icing of course. The cupcake was very fresh and the icing was not that over sweet type. There was enough frosting on the top to go with every bite. Other places only give you a dollop. And I could have had them changed the flavor of the icing if I decided I wanted a different flavor. But the thing that really stands out is they have a make your own cupcake section for kids. I thought well who would go for this? And then an adorable little girl walked in with her parents and started making her selections from the toppings section. Then she could put which ever icing color she wanted on the cupcake (with some help from Dad) and then the toppings go on. So I'm thinking okay, but this is just small fry. And the next thing you know the teens have arrived from after school and start in making THEIR own cupcakes. I learned that they also make wonderful cakes to order. Too bad I wasn't in town long enough to try them out. This place is located right opposite Donato's pizza on the main drag. So you can have dinner and dessert. If you go please tell them the folks from Pennsylvania sent you. Oh and cupcakes are $2.00 each. I thought that was a bargain especially compared to the places here in Pennsylvania. read more

Just to tell a little story. My sons both wanted a Minecraft themed cake...not the easiest thing in the world, because you can't get those at the usual cake places. So we went to Our CupCakery, which we have used several times before. Apparently, there was some confusion about our order when we first made it. But the owner made sure to fix the problem, and she did a fantastic job with the cake. The cake looked fantastic, tasted great, and my boys were excited beyond belief. So despite the intial mistake, I give a high recommendation for this bakery. I really appreciate people that can accept something was wrong, and make sure they get it right. Two thumbs up. read more

I had been wanting to go here for awhile but the opening times really cut it close coming from Columbus after work. Well I rusehd and was hoping for a good selection and they had all flavors left. I got one of each and not wanting to be piggy, I decided that a mini would be enough. I like how they only put one of each out so they stay fresh but I had to wait half an hour for them to frost 6 minis for me. A bit long but they did do a very nice job and all kinds of details on them which I was not expecting. I was however shocked how small the box was she brought out and had to open to check that all 6 were really in there. 1.75 for a mini and 2.50 for a large which still isnt really large, your average cupcake is more like their big size at 3.50 which is what they had displayed. They really are bite sized and a tiny bite at that, for me almost too small to actually judge the flavor. They were fresh and soft, the different flavors did not really come out and the frosting was neither bad nor really special. Since I was waiting I did frost a sugar cookie at the cupcake bar out of sheer boredom and wanting to see how all the frostings taste since only vanilla and chocolate is available for the ready made ones. So I tried Key lime, lemon, strawberry, caramel, peanut butter and BUBBLE GUM each on an end of the cookie and they all tasted pretty fake. Not horrible but not great, the bar really is just for kids, if I go back I would try their specialty ones with fillings to get a real taste. read more

This is a fun little cupcake joint. My husband and I wander in every time we're in downtown Dublin, because they have great flavors. Try the lemon with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream - it's yummy! The "decorate your own cupcake" bar is great for my kids. I'm personally not a fan, because I am a purist: I like my cupcakes with just cake / filling / frosting. But the kids like to put a bunch of candy on them, so whatever makes them happy. It's a small area (maybe 6 feet long) with some frosting bags and about 10 or 15 types of candy and sprinkles. I've always had great service when I've been in. Take the time to talk to the ladies in the store - they're really interesting and very helpful. I could see how some folks might think them "snooty", but the reality is that they let their delicious cupcakes speak for themselves. They don't try to sell me extra cakes, or to push the day-old stuff on me as a "special". Everything is fresh, they take great pride in giving you a superior product, and they really do try to get you in and out quickly. I didn't give this bakery five stars because of the location and the hours. As mentioned in a few other reviews, parking and traffic is a challenge. You'll have that in the Historic District, but it really does hurt this otherwise great bakery. The other challenge, and one that bears mention from those of us that have a more-than-full-time job ... the hours. The only time that I can get in to pick up some delicious cupcakes is on Saturday, and if I have things to do with my kids, I may not make it in before they close. If they were open an evening or two a week, that would rock. Especially since Jeni's is right across the street, and is open late every night (and on Sunday) for my sweet fix. read more

We were so thrilled with our experience with Our Cupcakery. I can't imagine using another company for all future events! We had another vendor in mind for our wedding but they dropped off the Earth a month before the wedding. I am so thankful I stumbled upon Our Cupcakery's website! I saw all of the options and reasonable prices and they were able to set up an appointment immediately. I was so impressed by the customer service we received and it wasn't difficult to pick out our best options. We were less picky about color matching (it is over rated, pick the flavors you love and worry less about colors) but they were so great about making sure it fit what we wanted and were willing to do anything we needed. They then came and set everything up with our cake topper and a few decorations. I greatly appreciate the attention to detail. Our cake was GORGEOUS on top of the cupcake tiers. I can't thank them enough and also can't wait to use them for our other big life events!!! Side note - I see a lot of comments about the price and the size of the space. The price is NOT unreasonable when you realize the quality of product and ability to build your favorite cupcake. Yes, the building is smaller than today's standards but it is a HISTORICAL building and absolutely beautiful. Our CupCakery made a cake for our wedding on May 5, 2018. When my then-fiance and I had our first consultation, we not only tasted the different cake flavors and frostings, we browsed through photos of cakes the bakery had made previously. Laura was very terrific and helped us narrow down what we wanted. We wanted a simple, yet delicious cake. We selected a lemon cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. We had her add small red rosettes on the cake as well for a little pop of color and elegance. The price was reasonable and we liked using a local vendor. The cake was at the reception venue as promised and was absolutely beautiful and delicious. We are looking forward to eating the free anniversary cake that was provided. These cupcakes are mediocre at best. Nothing against the place, and the woman who helped us out was perfectly nice, but they just aren't worth the calories. The icing is just like you'd find at a supermarket bakery, gritty with sugar and greasy. The cake is dry and the flavors are artificial tasting. We tried 6 different flavors, so this review isn't based on just one cupcake. If you want the best cake in Columbus go to The Suisse Shop and try the vanilla cake with buttercream icing! So I was very excited to take my son here for his birthday. He LOVES cupcakes.. So, I take him in to pick out his cupcake and the woman who came to the counter was kinda rude. " What do you want".. I responded " Well, today is my sons 4th birthday and he would like to pick out a cupcake" Her response " OK, well.. which one does he want?" When my boyfriend got a new job over the summer, I wanted to do something special for him. We found out in the mid-afternoon, but I thought I would call around to some bakeries to see what they could do figuring it would be really too short of notice to get any custom work done. I called Our CupCakery, and they were extremely helpful and great to work with. Not only did they do a small, custom special order for me (3 cupcakes with the flavors and colors I asked for, and lettering and a logo too), but they did it in about 3 hours AND stayed open a little later for me to come pick my cupcakes up after work! Great prices too (all of that for only $9!) Thanks so much! Plus, they are right across the street from Jeni's, so I was able to drop by and pick up my boyfriend's favorite ice cream as well! Not only did the cake I ordered turn out beautiful, but the service I received when going in was a treat! I do not recommend this bakery as the owner has shown a complete lack of responsibility and regard to customer service. Long story short - they blew the surprise for our gender reveal party by telling me what color the cake would be after repeatedly reminding them to not mention it to me. After the error they didn't feel it required anything more than a $5 discount to correct. I ordered a small 8" cake for our Gender Reveal party. I discussed the specifics with Linda, the owner. From the start I felt that she had a condescending attitude and was not altogether pleasant to correspond with, however I proceeded. I had specifically stated to her on the phone and email, "I do NOT know the gender so please do not include any info of that in emails, on receipt, or outside of box or outside of cake." The fact that I did NOT know the gender ahead of time was also reiterated when I put Linda on the phone with my doctors office, who privately told her what the gender was, so it was to remain a surprise for me and the rest of the party. When confirming the details via email, Linda responded back with: "Here is your new total. You requested pink for the batter color." In shock, I responded that I hope she meant "pink OR blue". I expressed my frustration as the gender had been revealed to me by what was confirmed as the cake color. To be paying a premium for something so special and have that moment of revelation and joy be taken away is extremely disappointing. I​ said I hoped​ we c​ould​ come to a resolution​ and that this ha​d​ become a very frustrating experience. I told Linda that ​I ​hoped to avoid conflict and disappointment​, and asked for reassurance that there would be resolution ​in terms of customer satisfaction and me ultimately feeling ​​more positive about the situation. ​Linda's response was: "​Our daughter recently learned the gender of her baby when the technician referred to "her" during the ultrasound appointment. We know how special that information is and wouldn't intentionally impact the surprise but sometimes mistakes happen. We make many gender reveal desserts. I'm sorry if information may have inadvertently been communicated to you in one of our many emails. Our goal is make the best possible desserts as possible but sometimes we do make human errors. We'd like to offer you the colored batter fee for free." I thought that attempting to minimize the situation by comparing this to her daughter was a poor attempt at an excuse. Considering her family had a similar experience, I would have thought that Linda's reaction to making this mistake herself would have been a little more regretful than "mistakes happen". I completely understand that this was human error and not intentional. However, the the total for this cake was $50.50, and the charge for the colored batter was $5. The resolution that she offered for this mistake was $5 off a $50 cake and a half-hearted apology that sounded like a dismissive excuse. This is completely unacceptable. Luckily, Linda had not taken the 50% nonrefundable deposit yet so I was able to cancel the order. I am not one to believe that the customer is always right in every situation. However, if this was my business, I would have gone above and beyond to make sure that the customer walked away as happy as possible. Instead, Linda let me walk out the door, with the gender reveal surprise ruined. Had her reaction been one of genuine apology and regret, and an offer of a more substantial discount than $5 off, I would have been able to look past the mistake. I ended up ordering a cake from Market District for $18.95. I had a great customer service experience, saved money, and was not charged a non-refundable deposit to place the order. I wish I would have gone to them in the first place and had the experience that I expected. Linda's response and reaction was irresponsible and unprofessional, and I would not recommend anyone to give their business to this (over-priced) bakery. read more

I have used them for a number of events for over 6 years and have never once been disappointed. The build your own cupcake bar may seem a bit pricey; but when you look at all of the ingredients you just used, the price makes perfect sense. My friends and I have started getting the cherry chip cake for each other for all of our birthdays - it is soooooooo good. Yum! They did our wedding cake, which was AMAZING. We had 130 guests, an open bar, a buffet, and 150 slices of cake and NONE left over. Everyone raved about our cake. So I went back this place, since I loved it soooo much! I placed an order on the phone for the bite size platter, and then when I went there at the time they told me to show up, they claimed to say we never called, I told them the entire conversation, and they still said they can not find the order. So they said they can do another order but it wont be ready for another 3 hours, plus since they can't find the order, they will charge 5 dollars more since the order is placed less then 48 hours, ( mind you, I called 48 hours before to place the order in the first place). then after coming there they said oooo we found your order?!?!??! what the heck. then after all that trouble they only just refunded the five dollars, which I shouldn't have paid in the first place. then I understood the platter would be mix of mini-cupcakes, and some other treats... but I didn't think it would be that few of cupcakes, plus they put some candy in there that you can buy from anywhere! Don't get me wrong, their cupcakes are still super delicious, but I thought the service was bad. I mean you would think they would be a tad more apologetic, and at least give us a free cupcake, or something, when they realized they made the mistake. I am really sad with this experience! The most thoughtful Christmas gift Ihave ever received came from Our CupCakery. My fiancée took the recipe for my favorite cookie/cake/petifours,( really there is no way to categorize this delicious confection) and had them especially made for me. The recipe takes about ten hours if you attempt to make them at home! Our CupCakery made them in time for Christmas and the first bite brought me right back to my childhood, they tasted just as I remembered and hoped they would, layers of cake soaked and flavored with almond and apricot encased in a delicious layer of fine chocolate. So, if you are looking for a sweet treat that you can't seem find in any bakery or food store have them custom made and you wont be disappointed. Our CupCakery knows how to bake! read more

I went with 5 girlfriends for the cupcake 101 decorating class last night, and it was so much fun!! Linda, the owner, taught our class and is so delightful. She's very friendly and easygoing and definitely knowledgeable about her cupcake decorating. She spent about 40 minutes or so really going through the different types of bag tips and how to assemble them, etc. And walked us through frosting a few cupcakes, then it was a free for all and we could play around and do whatever we wanted. My favorite one was the star tip (it turns out so fancy looking!) with swirled buttercream so you get two colors in one :) We all had a great time and each left with 6 one-of-a-kind self-frosted cupcakes! Who knew frosting was so fun? We even overstayed the length of the class by half an hour, and probably could have sat there and decorated all night to be honest. But Linda was very patient with us (sorry, Linda!) until we quickly boxed up our goodies and went home. The location is really cute and I love that it's right in historic Dublin. Parking wasn't a problem for us, but mostly because it was 6:30pm. But they do have a little lot in the back for their customers which is nice :) The cupcakes were tasty and pretty moist. I still hold "Sprinkles" to be my favorite cupcake in terms of the cake itself, but I like that "Our Cupcakery" is locally owned. The buttercream was really good too, and I'm not even that much of a frosting fan. It isn't an overpowering straight-shot-of-sugar taste, but still sweet enough and you can taste the vanilla extract and hint of almond.
