Tonight around 11, I came into Our Bar and the bouncer was so rude we were unable to get into the door. My friend politely asked for another chair after he rudely pointed to a table. He immediately started talking loudly and rudely to my friend telling her that she needed to pay attention because "he was busy." I was GENUINELY appalled with the way he was speaking to a woman, or even a stranger, in that tone. After he started talking to me, I genuinely asked why he was speaking to me in that tone; specifically saying "are you yelling at me right now?" To which he responded, "I'll show you yelling." I've never said this about a single person, but he should be fired from his job. Being from California, I've dealt with some of the worst customer service but this takes the cake. What a way to run a business. Embarrassing to say the least. read more

I read on Yelp that this place makes an excellent Bloody Mary so I went by to check it out. Not only were the Bloody Mary's awesome, but the food is too! Was hungry for late lunch, and saw the sign says "food", so we walked in for a quick bite. Well, I was surprised by how good the food was. The bartender, "Bear", is awesome. He was so funny, friendly and welcoming. When we asked to suggest some of their specialities, he suggested spicy fish tacos and Puerto Rican, and both were really amazingly tasty. They were way beyond the regular bar food quality that i was expecting. He also let us try like 5 or 6 beers on tap in small amount because we were not sure what to get. I ended up with Schofferhofer grapefruit which tasted just like fruit juice, and I loved it since I don't really drink much. I am always very hesitant to leave a 1 star review, except in the case of an unfortunately awful experience. Went in on a Tuesday afternoon. During quarantine we had tried new local take out, and found the food to be rather good. We go in we ask what IPAs are on tap. The server rattles off some beers, so I politely ask what she would suggest, And she just said they are all beer so. So we ordered some food and a "beer". She didn't ask us what sides we wanted, and so we had to go to the bar and request one. There was an up charge for everything. Caesar salad instead of a side salad, upcharge. Tater tots instead of fries, up charge. Which would have been fine had we been informed of this beforehand. We wanted some water with our meal, and so had to go to the bar to request that. I would have understood if they were busy, but there were literally 3 other customers in the bar. Needless to say, while the food is rather good, service counts for a lot. One of the few bars in town that serves food- that I know of. Not a restaurant with a bar. A single page menu with 10 burger or sandwich choices ($7), a few tacos ($5) and even some salads ($5). The Jack Daniel Mahogany burger- two really perfect strips of bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and BBQ sauce. Order medium and came perfectly cooked medium and hot. It came with fries also piping hot and well seasoned. Two napkin juicy!! You will need to go to the bar to order, there didn't seem to be table service. Also many at the bar seemed to be regulars. So if in doubt what to order, one of them can give a recommendation. The entire place was nice and clean. Simple decor- mostly exposed brick and windows. I'd heard much hub-bub from another source. So I finally decided it was time. After hitting the Riverwalk to work up an appetite myself and a friend popped in early evening. I ordered a Pastrami Burger. Piled with the dried cured delicacy. The burger itself was cooked as ordered and with the Pastrami and cheese it lived up to the hype. A basket of seasoned fries complimented the meal. My dining companion also had a burger and it was fantastic as well. A must do. And a follow up visit was as good if not better than the first. A perfect Sunday afternoon - what a lovely lunch place to while away an afternoon with friends after a movie at the Riverside. We ordered a bunch of different items to try out - the Korean short ribs taco, the mahi fish tacos, parmesan fries, avocado fries and the Jack Daniels mahogany burger (which came with fries or a salad). For me, the standouts were the Korean short ribs (nice kick), the burger (very flavorful) and the avocado fries - which is a platter that begs to be shared with friends. Total was a very reasonable $55 including tip for 3 of us including 2 beers and an iced tea. Loved the vibe here - low key, casual, not too crowded in the afternoon, so we could chat away and drink and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. I've been trying to get down to Our Bar and try out their offerings for awhile. I've had friends raving about their bar food. Telling me it's great! I'm thinking...bar food? How can it be great? Well I don't know yet how "bar food" can be great. But I wouldn't really call this "bar food" either. It didn't seem to be the frozen crap that is bought in bulk at some of our local chain bars. It seemed (I could be wrong) that the food is made fresh, in house. The time I was in I opted for the daily special of a bowl of soup (Bourbon Street Market) and some sort of chicken quesadilla. It was good. This isn't your "oooooh aaaaah, the delicate flavors of cumin and mesodijola compete yet complete each other in the dance of flavors." This is good food like you might get at your friends house while having drinks, you know that friend, the one who knows how to cook? Yeah that guy. That guy that doesn't have some crazy set schedule to what he is making you...but you know that whatever he makes..it's gonna be pretty good! We plopped down to kill about an hour between appointments and found ourselves really pleased with the service we got from the bartender. Our timing was odd, so we missed the lunch rush and the place wasn't busy. So not sure how they handle crowds but we got great service, no doubt about that. I felt like I was in a neighborhood bar.... However when I say neighborhood bar...I picture things getting a little grungy around the edges. Stains from long ago ground in with time and lack of concern....this is NOT that kind of place. It's a great use of a space that seems as old as Reno itself. Much more character than you might expect from a bar dowtown. Looking forward to hitting them up some evening when I am downtown. Our Bar has great drinks, tasty bar food, and always super friendly staff! Their wings (try the Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce) and fried avocados are super good and I've never had poor service here. I got their ramen for the first time and it was full of healthy toppings that you wouldn't normally expect on ramen, like bell peppers and jalapenos. If you're looking for a non-traditional, light, low sodium ramen option then I think this would be for you! If you're looking for a more traditional ramen, then I wouldn't quite recommend this one. This is our First time coming here. I did some research on yelp before choosing which bar we should come to since we're not locals. We wanted a sports bar feel while watching the game. The moment we walked in the TV volume was off. I asked the bartender if she can turn on the volume, but she said her coworker took the remote home...20 minutes later they found it! The service here is really slow, sorry to say. A customer in front of us found hair in her food! They offered to comp her meal and offered her a drink. (Which was nice) the other customer was complaining that her foods not out and she was here before us. All I ordered was 6 chicken wings. We waited over 30 minutes for the wings and after 40 minutes the wings came out cold and they were super dry! Our server/bartender never once checked in with us to tell us what's going on with the wait. I know it's not her fault, but I'm not sure why there kitchen is so backed up on a Sunday when there's a football game on and you know people are going to be out. She did comp our bill because I returned the wings! I'm sorry, but I just waited 40 minutes for 6 Wings and they were cold! She also took care of the beer we ordered. On a positive note: They do have really good beer selections. We tried the Mango Stash from Hop Valley Brewery. It was very refreshing! We decided to try this place based off of reviews stating that the wings and avocado fries were terrific. We ordered 10 of the honey habanero wings and an order of the avocado fries. The wings arrived, they looked to be on the small side and also looked as if there was no sauce on them what so ever. We both tried one, and there was very little flavor and hardly any heat from the habanero. Definitely not what we expected. The avocado fries looked delicious and they did not disappoint. Nice crispy bread layer followed by the creaminess of the avocado. The sauce they serve it with, puts them over the top good!. The place was very busy, and very loud. Originally I was going to get burgers from across the street, but they were closed so I decided to come into the bar since there were only two tables seated with people. We were immediately greeted by the female bartender who checked our ID's and took our drink order. She asked if we wanted food menus which YES and she got them to us pretty quickly. While looking at our menus and deciding what we wanted to eat we expected that our drinks would've been served. Nope we waited and waited we were asked by another bartender if we were doing okay we replied " Yes but we're still thirsty" she said okay but continued doing her own thing. Both bartenders continued to serve customers and even new customers before even acknowledging we had still been sitting there. As I'm writing this we've been sitting here over a half hour still have not gotten to order food. Guess we'll take these beers now finish them and bail because waiting over a hour just to order is to much. All in all it's a nice bar. The bartenders are amazing and so kind. With this being our first time we had expectations we spoke to the bartenders about what they were and the service we were given they were sincere about their apology and took our advice into account when in comes to adjusting to new scenes and crowds around this time of COVID. The BF and I came in during HH, which was 2 for 1 beer type of deal (2 beers, price of 1). We ordered the portobello bacon burger, avocado fries, and cheese steak. Acceptable, not bad, not great. The bar/restaurant is located downtown, if on foot a good location. We thought it would be an easy stop for lunch. Upon arrival we were greeted by the bartender, she was attentive, let us find a seat, only a couple patrons at the bar. We ordered our beverages, which she quickly returned with, advising us of the daily specials. We placed our food order, Pickle Fries, Jack Daniel Bacon Burger and Chicken Wings. I noted different music playing at the same level, turned out the kitchen was playing something different from the bar. I asked if they could please pick one, very distracting as both were slightly loud. Our food arrived, pickle fries were good, nothing special, my burger was better but the bun didn't appear to have been toasted and quickly got soft from the sauces. Our Bar is a fun cozy spot in a bustling spot by the Trucker River. The drink selection was solid and there were plenty of solid bar food options. I had a beer, the turkey chili and an order of garlic fries. The chili came with a heaping portion of tortilla chips, which I didn't expect or I wouldn't have ordered the fries. But I'm glad I did order the fries because they were hot, garlicky, and delicious! The chili was okay, but could have used more flavor and a little heat. The fries were the best part of the meal; I am not ashamed to say that I ate all of them. The three stars is because of the chili and also because of the service. The bartender barely engaged me. I heard him explain to other patrons that the special that day was "Taco Tuesday" (would have liked to have known that!!) and also a grapefruit vodka special for drinks. read more
