I love this place! Super clean, cozy. Perfect intimate spot. Great service . I always have a nice time at Oshio. Pork Bulgogi is delightful. Perks me up every time. Black Milk Tea for dessert. So yum!! 911 roll a favorite of mine. A little spicy, tangy and crunchy all rolled into 1. Nailed it. One of my favorite spots in all of the Chico area. Super chill and very tastey. Definitely will be back, many times. (Accepts Apple Pay*)

Was kinda craving some sort of Asian food and saw this little gem by where I was staying at and decided to come and try the food out!! The store was very clean and clean pretty empty. I was informed that Chico on Tuesday tends to be slow and many restaurants tend to be closed here on Tuesdays. But I'm glad it wasn't closed. The food here was good and actually very authentic. I'm from SoCal and this was better than some places I tried there The lady in the register was very abrupt. Didn't give off the best service and seemed like she wasn't happy sadly :(( she kinda stormed off after her shift. But maybe she didn't have a good day cuz we all human but would've been a plus if service was better with her. But the owners were so nice!! She checked up on us and also even talked to us a bit of the food. Bibimbap with beef 10/10 it was sooo good. I loved how it was presented and also love the taste. The beef trastes very sweet and savory at the same time!! Pork Bulgogi 10000/10 this has been on of my favorite pork bulgogi I tried!! It was sweet but not too sweet!! It came with the sides and man I thought it was gonna be for ome person but it seemed enough for 2!! Jjajangmyeon 9/10 was good but the chewing was real lolz. But very chewy but still good!! Service 8/10 was mixed but doesn't affect the review since its based on food but would've been nice is the girl on the register felt welcoming

Kimchi soup

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Chico. Everything is delicious and authentic. Service is quick. Cute restaurant, always clean.

World's smallest banchan? ;)

It had a bit of a fast food chain restaurant vibe to me, which had me worried. But the food was decent. I had the Bibim Naengmyeon, which was comparable to what I've had in the LA area. The sauce was a bit sweet for my taste, but otherwise, it was fine. My husband had a veggie Dolsot (Stone Pot) Bibimbop. Decent selection of veggies, and he said the Nurungji formed at the bottom was excellent (he hates it when the rice is burned, which they did not do). The menu didn't mention banchan, so I wasn't expecting anything. However, they did serve a very small helping, which was a pleasant surprise. Still, I feel that either the banchan should be more, or the price lower, to be a decent value. It's a 3.5* rounded up to 4*.

Whenever I'm downtown I always have to stop by. Such a friendly, sweet couple that run the restaurant. They deserve all the business they can get just from their personalities. They serve the most FRESHEST, made to order food you can get around town. I ALWAYS crave their beef kimbap! My absolute favorite with some of their kimchi. It's so refreshing to have a more diverse restaurant in Chico other than hamburgers or Mexican food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The food was delicious and we were given a large portion. We got the American roll and the beef bibimbap. We were served pretty quickly and were given water cups. Inside it was very nice and calm atmosphere.

Everyone is so friendly here! The food was spectacular--hubby had the bulgogi and I had the seafood sundubu. Both came with sides--broccoli, salad, pickled Korean veg, rice...mine had kimchi, his had potstickers. Great portions. My soup had just the right spice. Will definitely be going back. It's a small place but our table was perfect.

I'll start off to say that the food is delicious as always although I miss them as a food truck. I get it's nice to have a spot for the space but buying it from a truck was much better. This place is pricey, look forward to paying at least $16+ for a meal. They've definitely reduced the serving sizes because it's not much food for the price. I hope they add more to their menu because their options are limited.

Yummy salad! Love the dressing

Love this spot! I've had some amazing Korean food when living in LA and this is a wonderful spot. Great seating and chill atmosphere- enjoyed some bulogi on a rainy day! Side of miso and kimchi was on point! Great flavors all around and will certainly be coming back!

My wife and I are so happy we found this spot. If only I could give Oshio a 10 star rating!! Perfect healthy lunch, which is hard to find these days. We highly recommend the beef bibimbap bowl. Full of delicious veggies, fermented goodies, and whole grain rice. Definitely a new lunch favorite!

Beef Kimbap

So far the only Korean place in Chico. Got the soondubu which came with a plate that had: 2 scoops of rice, kimchi and salad.. an order of the Kimbap which was good & beef bulgogi that came with: 2 scoops of rice , potstickers and salad The restaurant is small but I like that it had counter seats . The service was good as well. Came fairly quick. But- definitely $$$ ... like - it's pretty $$$ like - I think this place is good but not worth the $$$. Maybe because it's the only Korean restaurant but if you're craving Korean food - you gotta bite the bullet with the price

Never disappointed with all food they made . Took my mom to celebrate Mother's Day and enjoyed their food . High recommendation.

Pork bulgogi - sizzling plate with onions. Delicious. Great flavor. Loved the caramelization from the plate

I reeeeeally wanted to like this place and after many attempts to eat here (and finding them…read moreclosed), I FINALLY discovered them open during the Downtown Christmas Preview. I was beyond excited to try the spicy katsu chicken sando (I literally attempted eating here for 2 months but kept missing their open hours. They are VERY limited). The pricing I was charged was a bit more than what was on their menu, which I hadn't noticed until after the fact. :-/ When the sandwich arrived it was not at all what expected. I looked up the sandwich months ago and it appeared to be a juicy chicken breast between sliced cabbage on thick, fluffy bread. What I got was some beat up, flattened GREEEEEEASY gummy chicken that wasn't the least bit appetizing. It reminded me of frog legs and I was pretty much grossed out after the 2nd bite. The bread was exactly the same as Astesano Bakery Bread and didn't seem "home made" as their menu states. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't (home made) but it sure seemed like the same bread I buy at Safeway. Needless to say I was BEYOND bummed out. I guess that's partially my fault though, I mean... I saw a picture they used to have posted on their menu (it's no longer there) and had expectations that it was going to be exactly the same, which it most certainly was NOT. If I could sum it up in 2 words: Gummy & Greasy. Yuck. The best part was the cabbage so, that's what I ate and ditched the rest of the "sandwich" to the trash. So yeah, $13 + tip for some cabbage. Awesome. With that said, I don't recommend this place for the Sando's but! I may return for the egg rolls. They look good in the pictures however since I got 100% duped this time around, I think I'll ask if anybody I personally know has tried the egg rolls first before I spend any more money here. I do like their outdoor dining and if they could move the ginormous trash bins away from the outside dining tables it would be a great place to dine (who wants to eat next to trash cans??) I'll end on a positive note and say, I did like that they have an option of indoor or outdoor dining, if they move the trash cans, that would be my preferred place to eat.

Today I just tried the Hmong sausage and Thai tea. The lady working was sweet and let me sample the tea to test its sweetness. I think it's spot-on. The sausage is perfectly juicy, spicy and savory. It's rich, flavorful, and reminds me of the holidays.

The dishes were delicious but not what was ordered (I used the phone to document the appetizers and entrees selected and compared that to the items brought out: 2 of six were incorrect). The hostess/cashier was gracious and explanatory of the short handed staff situation, and corrected the check satisfactorily. All in all, not a totally unpleasant experience, however, the staffing is, after all, what drives the desirability of a new venue, and this example of a new restaurant's presentation was disappointing. The younger staff members appeared to be doing the best they could under the circumstances. This is the fourth establishment in this building over my year 20 residency in Chico, and I sincerely wish Ji Bei Chuan nothing but the best of luck. A second visit may be ventured in the future to see if service/accuracy has improved. Chalk this experience up to arriving at the wrong time (a rainy Sunday late afternoon) with the wrong situation (staffing shortage)...
