This is the best sushi I've had in Everett for sure. Like others have said, it's a small place in a strip mall but the decor and ambiance inside quickly make you forget you're a few yards from a busy arterial and nail parlors and vape shops etc. It's a cozy and charming little spot. We shared 2 rolls off the menu and 2 off the special board, plus some edamame. The edamame was steamed just right and had that nice emerald green color. Our sushi arrived pretty quickly even though the restaurant was close to full--three sushi chefs were handling the orders! Our servers were nice and gracious. Off the menu: the Sapporo roll was really good and beautiful to look at too, but the sashimi roll was a revelation! Sashimi and a bit of sauce inside soy paper. Really delicious and lots of nice colors and textures. I'd order this one every time. Off the special board: the dynamite roll was pretty tasty and had a long spicy burn afterward. The samurai roll was also pretty good though less variety in color and flavor than I expected. The rolls off the regular menu were definitely the stars. We'll be back for sure. I have fond memories here, and even though we showed up late (the kitchen had closed) they allowed us to order a massive amount of sushi. I went in without reading any reviews and only found it on yelp a year later, I was very impressed. There are six sushi places within three miles of our Everett apartment, and gems should be recognized. Conveyer belt sushi here somehow gets four stars from people so I'm giving them a five to hopefully show the quality of what you're getting. The sashimi plate was fantastic and the uni was fresher than what I had in Seattle, which I have major respect for. I gobbled it up before I even got a picture. read more

We eat here on special occasions and any day that ends with "y". The fish is smooth and flavorful. If you want a tasty appetizer then try the Monkey balls. OH WHAT A FIND!!!!! From now on, this will be my go-to spot for sushi up north for many many reasons. 1- the service. Our server was probably one of the owners and she was fabulous! Always smiling and perfectly timed when she took our order. The men behind the counter made sure to give a friendly send off as well when we were done. 2- the sushi. The Las Vegas roll was BEAUTIFUL and oh so tasty, I probably could have eaten two helpings. I loved the little crunchy topping they placed on top, again.....such beautiful presentation. The Salmon Sashimi was so fresh and just melted in my mouth. The Edaname beans had just the right amount of salt and weren't over down; a good amount of crunch. 3- the prices. When I think of Sushi, I imagine a place like Oshima Sushi. This is a place I would not hesitate recommending to co-workers and friends. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. Walking in I was quickly greeted and chose to sit at the sushi bar near the chef. Through out my whole visit I was constantly interacted with and it was like going out to a party with friends. The chef and waitresses were very friendly and it was like being on a Japanese game show. They asked questions about me and I asked them lots of questions too. Ken was a great chef to work with. He knows jokes and uses your name once he know it. I asked about his training and his influences. His style is California influenced. I could see him working on the strip at the beach. Innovative and creative. Everything was fresh and very clean tasting. Through out my whole dining experience I had to use very little soy sauce. One thing Ken was able to do- besides make great sushi, he made a dish where I WANTED to use wasabi. Hands down I will be the first to admit I absolutely hate wasabi. I rarely touch the stuff and never bother scooping it out of the container if it is available for use. For a great experience sit at the sushi bar and tell Ken what you like and don't like. He can whip up something that will not disappoint! read more

This is my favorite sushi place In Snohomish county. Don't let any negative reviews discourage you; just because service was bad one time for them does not mean it always is. Yelp led me to this hidden gem in a little strip mall along Evergreen Way, and I am so glad I decided to give it a try! After a very long (12 hour) day at work, I decided to treat myself to sushi, so I showed up here just over an hour before they closed. Even coming to the end of their shift, I had excellent service from both the waitress and the sushi chef. Because I had only had a salad all day since around seven in the morning, I may have over-ordered just a bit and had three full rolls of sushi: I tried a Playboy roll, a Dragon roll, and a Lynnwood roll. * Lynnwood roll--generous cuts of tuna sashimi on top. The spicy tuna filling seemed a bit more spicy than I am used to, and I will leave it to the reader to decide if that is a plus or a minus. Probably my least favorite of the three, partly because I always seem to forget I'm not so big on spicy sushi, but also because the salty-vinegary sauce they used to top it (may have been Ponzu?) seemed to overpower everything else except the heat from the spicy tuna in places. I did enjoy it though, especially the interesting dimension that the freshly fried onions added. (If I could order just a pile of those, I would have them every time I visit.) * Playboy roll--I rather liked it, but it may have been just a shade heavy on the cream cheese. I thought the seasoned mayo complemented the salmon topping well, though. I ended up alternating pieces of this with the Lynnwood roll, to get the cream cheese to cut some of the heat from the spicy tuna. * Dragon roll--my favorite of the three, but I do love unagi. It was best when it was first served, as the unagi topping was still warm from the baking process, but there was certainly nothing wrong with the last piece either. Dragon rolls are a classic for a reason. For the quantity, quality, and service I received, the price was fantastic--none of the three rolls (or, as I recall, any other rolls on the menu for that matter) were over $10, not even their 'signature' ones. I expect I'll be back to explore more of the menu soon! read more

Iraaashaaaiii! You will hear as you come thorough the door at dinner time. The environment is really relaxing except for the random music mix ranging from the Beatles to Nirvana. They have all the Japanese classics from udon to takoyaki. The food quality is good for the price but the service was lacking this evening. There is one waitress for all 15 or so tables making refills, checks and additional orders take a long time with some mistakes. The freshness of the fish and size of the cuts made me not dwell on their staffing issues. Parking can be a little tricky with the small lot but only at lunch time did I worry about not finding any spot at all. Bottom line, yokatta! Like the say in Japan, I'm glad! lower prices with good quality, what more could you want? read more

Yum! My friend took me here since her and her husband frequent here i trusted their judgment. Definitely like their rolls! The lynnwood roll is amazing! However I am kinda picky about my nigiri, and I probably wouldn't order it from there again. It wasn't bad, but like I said I'm picky. Lol I will however order those rolls again! I'm salivating just thinking about them! There were two waiters that kept coming every few minutes to check on us and were hovering when we were reading the menu. Normally I wouldn't post a review while I'm eating but this place is too good. The prices are fantastic, the place is clean, the service is decent, and the FOOD is what steals the show. We ordered the 911 roll, Poke Bowl, and the Monkey Balls based on a picture someone else posted. The roll was fresh and tasty without the sauce overpowering the rest of the roll. The Monkey balls are a great twist on jalapeño poppers (which they have) with tempura fried mushroom stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna. The best part of the night was the Poke Salad. Filled with everything good it was too tasty not to share. I posted a picture for those who need to join the poke club. We will be back and this is now our favorite sushi place. read more

Went there to celebrate my job. I have been looking all over for a good place for sushi, udon, and all kind of Japanese foods with decent price. What I was worry the most is my belly is super weak and eating foods with only several hours old can lead to "loving" the restroom with all my heart. But Oshima Sushi was super great! I ate spicy tuna roll, tuna sushi, .... My belly was completely fine and it was a great meal --- Fresh fish! I ordered the Udon combo with spicy tuna roll and it was only $8.50. I ordered side dish of other sushi and rolls. The only downside is the service was a little slow and we waited for 15' just to get our bill and pay it. Just discovered this amazing Sushi restaurant on Wednesday night. We were thrilled to discover that every dish was off the charts delicious.....and better than most highly sought after Seattle restaurants. Ken took immaculate care of us. We sampled the Agedashi Tofu, Hawaiian Roll, Sashimi Sampler, Seaweed Salad and the Ramen/Spicy Ahi Roll. Completely blown away by the freshness, cut, flavors and price. I would gladly give this place a good rating if they didn't seat us into the middle of a party. It was just the 2 of us and they gave us the smallest table possible. The worst part is that there was farewell party going on and we got seated right by them. People were constantly laughing, yelling, standing, and walking by. It was very uncomfortable to enjoy our stay or our meal. Our table was just way too small and it's a bad spot to have a table. We asked to be seated somewhere else and the owner lady said "ok I will give you a table when it's free" but she really didn't mean it. Seconds later she brought a couple to the opened table. There was a huge booth that only had 4 people in it, they could've had the party inside there. But overall, the food is not bad and the price is reasonable. What they need to improve on is to not have a big party in the restaurant, it is too small to fit big parties. And also be more considerate to your other customers that are dinning. This is my favorite sushi up north. I came here for my birthday dinner, thanks to Yelp, and I fell in love because I don't have to drive all the way to Seattle for good sushi anymore. I've only tried their sushi here but they have other foods like teriyaki, noodles, etc. Their rolls are made fresh and even though there was only two chefs, they made our orders super quick! My favorite is the crazy salmon nigiri which is regular salmon with avocado and red onions on top. My other favorites are the Alaskan roll and Playboy roll. The chefs are accommodating if you have any special requests to your rolls and the waitresses are the sweetest people! read more

Took my wife there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and, because she was pregnant and wasn't able to eat sushi for 9 months, to give her something she's been deprived for so long. We love good sushi. That being said, we love this place. It's close and local, the sushi tasted fresh and oh so good. It's small, but it just adds to the atmosphere. Customer service was good. They were patient and took the time to answer any questions we had as well as describe the different types of sushi. My favorite, and one in which I "test" a sushi place with, is ikura. It's bad if there is a "fishy" taste and smell...but not here...it was good, just that right amount of salt, nice, cold, firm and fresh, not like the trout bait that's been sitting in a tackle box! They even had it in a way I've never had it before, with a quail yolk in the middle so I tried that too....I have a new favorite. BTW, ikura is salmon roe. Anyhoo, if you need a good sushi fix, Oshima is a good and it's local. read more

I don't know what all the other people were hyping about. The servers were very friendly and offered me green tea while waiting for my to go order. However, the food itself wasn't anything spectacular. I ordered the Rainbow Roll, Spicy Rainbow Roll, Dragon Roll, and the regular 12 piece sashimi combo. The rolls filled me and my boyfriend up but they were not memorable. The regular sashimi combo came with a miso soup and fridge damaged salad that's still icy. The fish variety was as follows: 3X salmon, ahi tuna, seared albacore, and escolar. The salmon and ahi were bland, no flavor in the fish, not even a nasty old fishy flavor. The escolar was still icy and wet. The only redeeming part was the seared albacore...only because it was drizzled in ponzu sauce. It's affordable but don't expect too much. read more

Oshima is my new favorite place for sushi. It's nice I have found a spot in Snohomish county for those times when one just isn't in the mood to drive into Seattle for dinner. This is only a review for the takeout, because otherwise I have enjoyed this place before and its a safe spot for sushi! I ordered the Chicken Katsu Bento to go but also had sushi in the restaurant, which was great! But unfortunately the Chicken Katsu Bento was not. It seemed like they made the Katsu the same time they made the rest of our food and had it sitting out, which is fine with restaurants in general but I feel like when you have temperature sensitive foods it is not. Right when we got home I began to eat the bento but it just wasn't enjoyable at all. The sushi (which came with the bento) was sitting on top of the food and next to the miso, so it was very warm and unpleasant to eat, the miso was not hot and instead luke warm, probably due to sitting next to the sushi and also sitting out while we were eating(?), and our katsu was soft and not crispy at all. My sister and I came here for lunch since we didn't want to drive too far away from home. It's a small little restaurant right next to Zab Thai. The setting was very cute with little bonsai trees everywhere. I was surprised that we were the only ones in there, even though it was lunch time. Server sat us in the "hidden" part of the restaurant behind the wall of bonsai trees. It took awhile for the server to come back and let us order, even though there wasn't anyone else in there? The sushi was pretty average to me. There weren't any special rolls or anything that stood out during our experience here. We both shared a regular udon, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, the cucumber special roll, and another roll that I cannot remember (it had salmon on the top of it and was basically a california roll on the inside). The fish inside the special cucumber roll was actually quite delicious. It was a mixture of maybe 5 different sashimi's? Salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, scallop, and something else (that was all I could make out). The fish itself didn't taste very fresh in my opinion. The salmon could have been more moist and flavorful. We left full and half-satisfied with everything! Maybe next time I go I'll try some more of their not so "special" rolls. I would recommend a friend to go here at least once, but cannot see myself as a regular here. read more

Called in togo order 20 mins in advance. It was ready when i arrived. We got two bento boxes and two sushi rolls, came to about 54$. The beef teriyaki was not the best. It comes with a lot of meat almost like steak meat but the quality was low and the teriyaki ended up on top of the rice. The rolls were great tho, got the elvis one and las vegas.. overall the actually sushi was delicious and the service was fast. read more

The Hawaiian roll was sketchy ! I ordered it and it came with fried onions on the top ?! Like a mound of friend onions. You couldn't even see the rolls.
