But food was quite good, especially the tater tots (cubes actually, made from scratch) and the General Tso's cauliflower. Cauliflower was done perfectly. Close to Traveler's Rest hotel and the bike trail in the hip South Side Flats neighborhood. Would visit again.

I first tried online but there was a glitch somewhere in the system. I called instead. When the phone was answered, the background noise was intense. It was so loud that the employee couldn't hear me. At that point I decided to just go in and order. When I walked into Urban Tap, the noise was almost deafening. Music blaring, voices raised to be heard. No one was using their "inside voices", they couldn't. I sat at the bar to order. I never got waited on. I finally caught the attention of one of the bartenders and was ready to place an order. We leaned towards each other, yelling to try to be heard. I couldn't hear her when she read back my order. I really wasn't sure what I'd be getting. Unfortunately, I did get what I ordered - brunch breads and an order of biscuits. It took quite a while to get food - no surprise there. I checked our food when I got it. Oh Lordy, those biscuits looked good. This southern girl appreciates a good biscuit and did these look good. I got the food to the car and we headed out on the next leg of our adventure. About an hour later, I just had to grab one of those golden, flaky discs. Butter? Jam? Nah, the biscuits looked like they could solo on their own. I took one bite and my eyes flew open - not from the deliciousness, it was because of the sheer amount of salt. That can't be right so I took another small bite. I tried a teeny bite of the next biscuit. Salt. The biscuits were inedible. No, I don't mean that I didn't like the flavor. They contained so much salt that there was no way someone could eat these. That's ok, there was the banana bread French toast. It looked a little dark in color but it never crossed my mind that this might not be normal. I took a bite. It tasted odd, off, something wasn't right. My husband pegged it - it was burned. Before grilling or after? No idea. There were also a couple of donut holes. Not even worthy of a second bite. I also ordered fruit. It was good but still not enough to save the meal from dismal failure. We won't be back .

For starters, we ordered curry and chips, which were a hit. The corn beef, cabbage and mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had and my husband's bangers and mash were delicious. (Clean, comfortable, clean restrooms ) We love to try new places to enjoy a meal at when we're in Pittsburgh. Piper's Pub was a very pleasant surprise. We found it on line and we were not disappointed. We highly recommend this pub when dinning out in Pittsburgh.

Everything was absolutely incredible, and I genuinely cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu. And the whiskey chocolate pot de creme was the perfect way to end an amazing meal. My only complaint? The Scotch eggs only came with 2 halves. I could have happily eaten more! The staff was incredibly friendly, and while there was a bit of a wait for the food, that's understandable when the food is this good. Trust me, it is SO worth it! The atmosphere is very much a casual pub vibe, with multiple TVs broadcasting football games, so it's a great spot to grab a meal, watch a game, and enjoy some seriously amazing comfort food. Honestly, I'm already planning my next visit. If you're looking for a new favorite spot in Pittsburgh, this place needs to be on your list!

The food is greasy and basic bar food. There is a decent selection of beer on tap. The place is dark with loud music but no soul. Frankly it was depressing. There was high school basketball on the little tv at our table and no way to change the channel. There were people smoking weed outside and the smell traveled into the restaurant. Just saw the part of Yelp that shows health code violations for this place and I'm not too surprised.

They have one cook, two servers and the one server is also running the bar. They have a pool table and slot type of machines. When asked for the drink menu, they didn't have one and plain out said that. So I guess they can make whatever you want, not sure on what beer they have. Because after that response and nothing else was said by the after that. we just ordered water, Pepsi and lemonades for the kids. From the time we ordered our food to the time we got it was an hour and 30 mins. When we got the food, it was mediocre. The patties were very thin( not a smash burger) no flavor. The burger itself self ranged from $8-10. It does not come with sides as it's separate. We got loaded fries, and it barely any cheese, and pieces of bacon. Oh and not to mention the family behind us got there 15 mins after us and hit their food first. The bathrooms are up stairs. It's dirty, dingy and dark.

BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports. Very high Pittsburgh atmosphere going on I will be back so many times and absolutely worth going Downtown for

I went with the recommendation of the wings and got the Cajun seasoning. They were so good that I regretted asking for blue cheese for dipping.
