This is not a review, but more of a complaint. Today 9/24/24 I was driving on the 905 South when one of the orkin trucks decided to tailgate me on the freeway. I was exiting onto the 805N. exit and he was still "riding" my bumper. There is a sharp turn onto the 805 with a clear 25mph sign. He must have thought I needed to speed up because he then got even closer. Once on the 805 N he continued to tailgate me instead of switching lanes. I was getting off on Main so I stayed in the first lane. He decided to tailgate me for quite awhile. I was feeling very uneasy. I tried to take a picture of the license plate but it isn't clear. First, I am the writer of the poor 2 star review from a week ago. Second, Orkin, sent Omar out today and he ROCK STARED in customer service. He went into the attic and checked for bees. I looked with a flashlight and spotted a wasp nest. He checked again, using my flashlight, and said yep, good catch. He explained that wasps, build their nest, leave food and take off. The kids, have to figure it out and then move on. Unlike Bees, who never leave. He knocked down he mud thing, "Resprayed around the parremitter of the house, checked the garage, to ensure the traps left by the last inspector were done right, and explained how a handy man can put up screening on the outside, to keep insects from getting in the air holes in the roof. I want our inspector to be Omar everytime, unless he is on vacation or gets promoted. Also, give ALL your inspectors little flashlights to check attics and dark corners. He took pictures and texted them to me, so I can show my mom, and let her know he took care of her home! read more

Orkin in New Hudson, MI was used to get rid of a large in ground yellow jacket nest that was right next to our sidewalk in a flower bed. We discovered it after numerous stings. I thought Orkin would have removed it. No, they sprayed and put down powder and stated 2-3 days for them to die. A week and a half later and several more stings, they were alive and kicking! I called Orkin two times over several days and no call back. I ended up spraying it myself and using a hoe to pull up ground. I'd spray when I saw more coming out and repeat the process digging down through the nest. I took care of it in 15 minutes. I eventually connected with Orkin and they refunded $100 of $300 service fee. I will not use Orkin again. read more

Then I was scheduled for the 10-12pm today and the technician was LATE on the FIRST visit. I recently signed a treatment contract for Orkin in the San Diego area. Ricky, a consultant, came out and discussed methods of treatment. We went over areas I had treated in the past and came up with a great control plan without tenting. The applicator Pablo came out and treated all areas inside walls next to windows with Termidor, plus outside areas, attic, and garage. Having applied pesticides in the past, I was really impressed with this company. Neighbors have tented, then had to retent again due to reinfestation, a big inconvenience. Unless you have massive infestation, I would go with this treatment method. Can't speak highly enough about this company. read more

And yes I paid $300 for first appointment and $89 for monthly service ! For flays / mosquitoes... Than first tech and manager telling me that they can deal with flays .. but this is what I called for.... And than they said we can do the mosquitoes well I said that fine at list something?? I am very disappointed with Orkin Service. I called and paid $75 for them to come out And take a look to see what is making my house make me itch. All he did was put some sticky traps on the floor. And he said he would come back to check in a week. It has been a week and he has not come back yet. I called and I got told that he was only there to look for Bed bugs.I told him when we met last week that I do not know what type of bags are in my house but I have been getting bitten. I talk to some lady on the phone and she told me that it would be an extra $90 for them to just exterminate any bags in my house on top of the $75 I have already paid. (I feel like I was cheated out of my money.) I recommend you do not use them. And you just go to H-E-B and get the stuff to trade it yourself. Save you a lot of money. They are not worth the money they do not show any progress at all Update they are actually going to come out and do the pest control I paid for them the first time to come out for $75Dollars. He had a happy disposition, was detail oriented, respectful, listened, and was very considerate. It is refreshing to interact with such a congenial person. Had them come out in 2016. Diagnosed a termite infestation (true) some other bug, and a leaking crawl space. Took care of the termites, unrolled plastic on the floor of the crawl, the tech blew my bathroom up, and had to get rid of the plastic. Talked me into gutterguards that are completely useless, paid 1800.00 they don't work, when I called to tell them this, they blew me off. Some snotty gal told me they weren't a gutter cleaning service. Have to call and remind them to come out and check the termite traps after they charge a yearly fee. read more

They have the WORST follow up and Customer Service EVER. We contracting for them to provide a treatment for rodents at our house. The cost was approximately $18,000. When they came they removed/moved the items in our attic in order to replace the insulation and set traps. They were supposed to replace the items back into their original place. In addition they were supposed to monitor the traps every 2 weeks. Firstly they have NEVER monitored any of the traps - no follow up at all. I spent a few hours trying to speak to somebody (they have a system that runs you around and makes it difficult to speak to a person in charge). I finally spoke with somebody who came out to the house and said that hwe would return with a crew the following Monday - that was over 6 weeks ago!! So no follow up to check for infestation (and we are getting smells coming from the attic) and totally reneged on coming back to replace/reposition the attic items. There were other misrepresentations as well such as setting up financing - which I told the Sales guy I didn't need. He set it up anyway and when I asked him about checking our credit (which if I was going to pay without financing he didn't' need to do) he said don't worry it will be a soft enquiry and when you don't finance it will not affect you. I told him that was NOT true, that it would be a hard enquiry and would stay on my credit for 2 years. When I called them out on it afterwards he said "no problem, I will get the manager to send you an email for the credit bureau" I tried to explain that that was worthless and that they would not change it but clearly he did not give a crap. Finally trying to get a hold of somebody in authority to have these issues resolved (particularly the deceptive trade practice of selling monitoring for the traps and just ignoring that id particularly egregious. I am still waiting for them to call me back and fix this situation but I think that I will let my attorney handle it from here. For $18000 these guys are a joke and their Guarantee statement which is proudly shown on all of their docs is just a bad joke. read more

I was quoted an amount and i was over charged, never emailed me a receipt, pictures, a call etc. This is the most unprofessional company , that I have ever had to deal with. Garvin Made the Difference! I've been a customer of Orkin for over 10 years. The past three years have been a nightmare! Either Techs quit regularly or they're terminated. Seems like every visit I get a new Tech usually worst than the previous Tech. Recently, I was blessed with a Tech who reminded me why I've been hanging by a string of hope. Garvin was my Tech. He was professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, patient, he listened attentively and seemed proud to do his job. He came to the door with a mask on and shoe covers readily available. My previous Tech came to my door without a face mask during COVID-19 and when I asked if he had shoe covers he replied, "No! I'll come back tomorrow!" He never rescheduled me. I emailed the branch Manager James. I never received any type of follow up. All in all Orkin needs more Techs like Garvin! If it wasn't for him I'm sure I would've ended my relationship with this company because I'm beyond fed up. read more

Orkin is a very bad service 1 they came and sprayed and it did nothing i believed it was regular bug spray for Homedepot or something they put down termite bate stations and we had to call and ask them when are they coming out to check them. The sales rep told us we can cancel at anytime but when we called to cancel they said we still have to pay the $2600 plus because they put the stations in and we can not cancel they are a rip off with products that do not work. when you call they are very rude and non helpful Terminex is much better I am going back with Terminex I really do not like Orkin services there are a lot of bad reviews on here take these reviews and listen do not get there services. read more

Employment at Orkin I was an employee with Orkin for 11 years. first with a franchise, it was great to work for Dave Walsh and Amy. When we were sold back, the corporation is horrible to work for. Though the pay is great the benefits are too expensive. The work life balance is horrific. All they do is pile.on more standards, more training, more work while keeping the head count down and furing managers or pressuring then so.much they do stupid stuff to get fired. I wrote an email to Gary Rollins, my acting region manager, my past region manager and my branch manager upon my departure. I recieved 1 phone call, promised another phone call, has not happened and they simply do not care about YOU as an employee. They sit in their air conditioned offices and simply do not care about their service managers or technicians. I would not advise anyone to go to work for this company. Questions? AVOID! Don't buy into the "if your not happy we will refund you" line. They do everything in their power to avoid a refund. Even blaming you for what they messed up. They even get mad if you want to cancel their monthly service plan that they REALLY push on you to get. In our case they didn't even look to see what pests we had, just sprayed and called it a day. Found out later they were wrong and it costs us way more to fix. Were told "Sorry you didn't contact us!" even though we did contact them. Worst service in the world. If you want to waste your money and more importantly your time. Look no further. I live in the country and had an exceptional amount of gnats around my house last year. I called Orkin. They came out, sprayed some stuff in the air and left... I called the next day and was told to wait for it to take effect. I did, no change. I called back, they sent a service manager out who was unable to figure out the source of why they were around. They came 3 more times each time accidentally using the wrong spray or not doing the process correctly before I gave up and called to cancel. When I did the manager told me I would get a partial refund.... then I just happened to be on their website to find a 100% guarantee or your money back statement.... I called back. Had to wait for the branch manager to get back from vacation and finally got a refund. It gets better.... The next year I figured out the source of the gnats. They are in the drain coming out of the roof above the bathroom. I called on a Tuesday to attempt to get this resovled. No call back. I called again on Saturday and again stated the source was on the roof. I was assured 1 treatment would do the trick. That same night I realized no one had even step foot on the roof! I had to call again. Spoke the branch manager who now tells me they had no intention of going on the roof. It's "against safety policy". So why in the world did 2 customer service people and the tech who was at my home not say ANYTHING at all! Want to know the best part? They were told to call my landlord for payment Monday. But since they had my card information from last year. They decided to charge me for the service without my consent. read more

I fell victim to the "moisture" control and barriers upsell they offer. 2 vents have completely collapsed and fallen into the crawl space and 3 others are starting to peel off. Not to mention, it took them weeks to get this job complete because they kept ordering the wrong crawl space door.
