Was here again this week and had a Queens Burger combo with a banana shake. The food was made fresh and tasted as such. The order taker was friendly and accomodating. The burger was made just right with the appropriate amount of tomatoes, onions, and lettuce (and no ketchup, yay!). The banana shake was tasty but was flavored with artificial flavoring and not any real banana in the mix. However, it was good enough to try again, just with this lowered expectation. The french fries were the best part. A generous portion, to be sure, spiced lightly with salt and paprika, and done as all french fries should be-completely peeled with no skin present, slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. OK...This is a straight up burger joint. Owned and operated by a family. They founded other burger joints like Queens in Pacoima, so they know what they are doing. They had a rough start of it, but they are formulating a place that will serve the Tujunga community for decades. They have a decent menu-burgers, dogs, grilled or fried chicken sandwiches, Mexican (THEY NOW ROLL THEIR OWN TAQUITOS), BLT, salad et al...! Fries and rings are good What I love is that everyone involved is eager to serve and please. They added back Pineapple shakes-yummy. I've eaten here aa few times now. Loved the old fashioned goo grilled cheese on sour dough, the BLT looked a bit short on bacon, but it tasted awesome-tasty bacon, yummy tomato & fresh crunchy lettuce perfectly balanced. I stopped for fries on my way to class a couple times...they kept me waiting for 5 minutes or so...and it was SO WORTH IT- hot, perfectly salted dinner fries. They do use some typical frozen goods here like most of Queens' competition, however, they mix their own sauces like the super spicy cocktail sauce that came with the shrimp dinner my buddy ordered. He couldn't finish it was so much food. Um....don't listen to any other reviews. Try it for yourself. It's good. Very good for exactly what it is. Tuna Melt is delicious. Queens Burger is delicious. Fries are delicious. And...The people that work there are super freaking friendly and nice! That being said, I'm also nice and friendly to anyone who is going to be making my food. Maybe if you're nice they wouldn't be rude "AF" to you. It's a drive-thru/fast food (that's not a chain! Yay!) and that is what you should expect. Ehhh... Not impressed... They used old fries for my chili fries not fresh fries like they do at the Hat. I wish I could give it a 2 star but I wasted 20 bucks on 2 dinners I didn't eat!! We haven't eaten here in years, I believe the last time was 2000, Hubby and I decided to take a stab at it and go in. I've been meaning to try this place for quite sometime, as it's been in the neighborhood forever, and I have not. They must be doing something right, I reckon. Well, it's not the roast beef sandwich. When i parked all the lights were off around the place only the lights around the kitchen was lit and the dinning area was dim .. my gf and I go in to try this place out because I heard it's under new ownership and should b better ... hmm . We go we park we walk in the girls on her phone and just "hi" no smile just hi .. we order.. I hear my gf say she wants a small drink after we order . We get our order and the girl gave us a medium drink for her and a small for me which should have been the other way around because we ordered different drinks .. she goes up to try and correct the girls mistake and the girl at the register says" oh no that's what you ordered u said small then medium you understand??" Great food, good price, great customer service. I got a breakfast plate and my boyfriend got a grilled chicken sandwich. They serve breakfast all day. French fries were crispy and seasoned. Portions were a good size. Small dining area, but they do have a drive through. Bathroom was not amazing, but at least there was one! Would definitely return if ever in this area again. read more

Great little grill, thanks for coming to Tujunga! The pastramis are the best here, just like the Queens in Pacoima I've been going to for years. Top tip- don't come here expecting a nice restaurant, it's a burger stand. Burgers are great, breakfast burritos are amazing, expect to pay for add ons- it's a mom and pop joint. This place has potential, but their food isn't that great. I've only gotten 4 items from their menu and I haven't been that impressed. The meat is over cooked or burnt. The cashiers I've gotten have been very nice but I wish the food was good as their service. The first 2 times I tried this place out I had no idea that they put lettuce on most of their items, like their tacos, burritos and gyros. I'll say this the size of the tacos are pretty big and the prices aren't that bad. I think their tacos are the best thing they make if you remember to tell them not to add the lettuce. The meat isn't the best quality and has a tangy taste to it.the chicken and shrimp tacos taste better then the asada meat. I got their breakfast and it was ok nothing to complain about. Now as for their gyros ... WTF!! Lol I'd like say this the American version of gyros has no lettuce why do you add that shit on there?! We don't need fillers in the gyros. Onions tomatoes and the Greek sauce is all we need. Now as for the meat why must they burn the damn meat?!!! It's suppose to be soft and juicy not tough and burnt. This burger joint used to be called Troy's. It has been renamed and refurbished with new chairs and the menu remains popular as the place was hopping tonight. Families, couples, kids. We had a good chili burger, so-so fish tacos.. I am not a fan of fish tacos that are fried and certainly don't love a mayonaisse sauce (tartar??) in the taco. Fries were nice. DON'T GO UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO WAIT 40 MINUTES FOR BREAKFAST PLATES!!! This used to be one of our "Go To" spots for some cheap breakfast, but I'm pretty sure we won't be returning anymore. We ordered 2 breakfast plates and one burrito around 10:30 in the morning. We asked if they could do egg whites, and the girl behind the counter replied "Yes we do!" After our order was placed, a group of about 7 workers from down the street all ordered burritos and another customer ordered after them. EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. BEHIND. US. RECEIVED. THEIR. ORDER. FIRST. and SOME WERE EVEN DONE EATING THEIR BURRITOS BEFORE WE RECEIVED OUR ORDER. The reason for the 40 minute wait was apparently the egg whites. Are you freaking kidding me?! They didn't start make our order until everyone else received their food. Absolutely ridiculous. Also, SHE NEVER APOLOGIZED, just kept saying that the egg whites were the reason for the wait. If it takes that long, YOU SHOULD LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW IT'LL BE LUNCH BY THE TIME THEY RECEIVE THEIR BREAKFAST ORDER. The girl behind the counter clearly knew some of these workers because she called them by name when their orders were ready. That's fine and all. I also understand they're on a timed break for lunch or whatever, but that should never be the customer's fault. So my rating is actually 3.75-ish however yelp doesn't let you give partial stars. For some reason I fell like they deserve more than 3.5 stars but I hesitate to give them a full 4. I went to this location once when it was Troy's Burgers and never went back because the place was gross (the dining area and kitchen just looked like they never cleaned it). The food was not very good either. We figured we would try it again since there are new owners. First, the staff was very eager to please, we came in about 25 minutes before close and they were very helpful. We had out food quickly, everything was hot, and nothing tasted like it had been sitting out or old. I had a regular chili cheese fries, they tasted good and I think they gave me a large. I think their fries are better than The Hat and taste similar to the chili at Tommy's. My husband and my brother had the pastrami sandwiches and they were good. The meat was moist though we all wish it was cut a little thinner (they use thick cut pastrami). I tasted their sandwiches (my husbands was plain so no pickles or mustard) and the meat tasted good. Not overly seasoned (nor under seasoned). I think this pastrami is better than The Hat but my husband disagreed. I also had the asada taco. They use the larger corn tortillas and you do need two (which they use) to hold all of the insides in. The meat was good quality (rather lean which I like) and everything tasted good. Last but not least we had a milkshake. They made it on the spot with real ice cream and milk. I would have liked it to be a little thicker but since they have skinny straws it was fine. Tasted like a good shake should. Unlike the experience at Troys the new owners (mom and pop type place) cleaned up the place very nicely. The counter is new and shiny, all the equipment is new and the dining area has been cleaned (new floors, booths, etc.). We will be going back. read more

Okay ... I promised my YELP friends I would start writing more reviews. So here I go ... hey wait ... stop laughing ... this actually doubles my written accounts so far ... okay ... I resign to the fact that these actual words don't carry much weight. By the way, my Mom's name is Dot ... let's see if you get it ... So ... I finally went to Queen's, in Tujunga. I had gone so long to (previous drive-through/burger joint) Troy's, that it almost didn't seem right. They occasionally got the orders wrong ... but they were such nice people ... So, I finally ordered our meal, and the women helping me seemed to care less that I was there. She mentioned upon taking my order, that "everything was fresh." Silently recounting previous YELP reviews, I reluctantly (my food had yet to be put down, post ticket) I asked if they had that advertised somewhere ... because my YELP Brothers and Sisters earlier reported that this was a joint that served the dreaded frozen discs. Her response was ... "no, no, no ... we have to keep them in this spot to keep them cold." I had felt, at this point, that I might have won over her attention due to her talking on and on about how she liked to go on YELP. I resigned to the fact that sometimes YELP had led me wrong ... not the the fault of the sight, but to the fault of distant, dishonest, and not so distant reviewers. After hoping for an insightful discussion about the relevance and honesty of online reviewing and the systemic inverse of awareness and integrity, she basically said "Yeah." I figured I had it in the bag. Surely, again, at this point, I had presented myself as a first time customer who, despite YELP reviews, choose to come to this fairly new establishment to give them a chance. After arriving home, and eating with my family, unfortunately again, I had/have to honestly report that our review is less than stellar. My son's burger was dry and had lettuce on it, which I specifically asked not to be there. My pastrami was chewy and fatty. The tomato and lettuce, on the side, from my son's burger were thin and less than fresh. My wife could not eat her "Veggie Burger" because it tasted so much of meat. I noticed they used the same presses that they used for the burgers and bacon, but I chose again not to say anything as our order was in progress and I didn't know for sure ... really? This is presicely why I worry about writing on YELP! Anyhow ... I will try again ... despite the fact that the employee at the counter had a long conversation about YELP and my experiences with local gastronomy. Personally, if someone came into my business and said that they were trying "ME" out for the first time, I would make sure the order was perfect. Perhaps that's just me. This is where I go if I don't have any cash on me or don't want to go any further east on Foothill but still want to drive-thru. I wasn't a Troy's regular but when Queen's opened up I decided to give them a try. I was very impressed by the huge menu and the way the employees were all dressed in really nice matching uniforms. Well, both of those things went away fairly quickly and now it's your standard local burger joint -- not necessarily a bad thing. They have a chicken breast sandwich that's nice enough but on the plain side. Their cheeseburgers are usually good. Onion rings are always good, and I prefer their fried zuchini to Everest or Jimmy Dean's, but about half the time the breading is a bit too dry. As for the rest of their menu, I have to say nothing really looks all that exciting. Decent food, acceptable prices, friendly employees, the convenience of a drive-thru, and they take credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? This place was good the first couple of times. We had burgers or tacos. But sadly today changed my mind forever and I will not go back. The meat in the tacos was old and tasted really bad. I ordered four tacos, two fish, one beef and one chicken. The only taco I was able to finish was the chicken. The rest tasted so bad with old, spoiled meat that I was afraid of getting sick so I threw them away. They also sold me a warm horchata drink on a 90plus degree day. They had three employees working and the two men were more interested in chatting with the female employee than cooking good food. I hope the owner reads this and hires some better people. I wanted to try this place for the first time. It didn't start out to well. When it originally opened, they mis-spelled Chicken on their banner. They have since corrected the error. I tried this place on 7/11/15 and was ok with the drive thru until I got to the window. The staff decided it would be a good time to be joking with each other and playing grab ass while a customer was at the drive up window. Not professional at all. When they finally came to take my money, the girl acted like I was interrupting her fun day. When she bagged my order, I was a little surprised that she crammed the whole order into one small bag. Guess there is a paper shortage I'm not aware of. Once I got home with my order, my fears were right on the money. The burger was smashed. I tried it regardless. I am a sucker for good ranch dressing, and this place has great ranch dressing! They use seasoning salt on their fries and their onion rings are better than everest's in my opinion. Their burger meal deal is a great value. Their breakfast burrito is pretty good as well. The major downside is the wait time for drive thru. But at least you know its freshly cooked. read more

I used to come here a lot when it first opened until one day I ask for ranch and they decided to charge me. (Obviously not a big deal but for someone who was there everyday for the first week and a half that it first opened kind of was messed up) the avocado cheese burger is good but I feel like lately something had been off with there burgers..isn't the same as they used to be. There pastrami is horrible, tastes and smells bad, I couldn't finish eating it. And there fries aren't really that great. They also overcook there onion rings. This place totally sucks now. Their prices are ridiculous. I spent $8 on a cheeseburger and fries and they wouldn't even give me a ranch after asking me if I wanted anything else. They expect me to pay $0.50 for a little thing of ranch plus a $1 for a refill of your fountain drink. The drink that they already charged you to bucks for and that cost them $0.02.
