    menus on the wall

I can't believe I found this hole in the wall place! A friend brought me here to try their amazing chicken and it did not disappoint. After walking in, you can see their menu. It's pretty simple, you choose from their displayed picture menus of their different combinations. I ordered the 2 piece chicken and 2 tacos combo. The indoor seating is a little small, but the service is quick. The lady brought our plates to our table and everything was fresh. Once I tore into the chicken, it was still smoking. Meaning there was a steady stream of steam coming from the chicken. Cause it was just pulled off the grill. I had to let it cool down for a while. The amount of food was enough to keep me full for the remainder of the day. 2 piece chicken, 2 tacos with rice and beans, makes me feel like I'm at a backyard bbq. The prices are really reasonable, and there's even a person grilling the chicken right outside of the restaurant! You have to walk past him when you walk in. It doesn't get any fresher than this! You have to stop by this place. The food is outstanding and the people are really nice and hard working. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood. I guarantee you'll be coming back to this place.

On a road trip here we stopped for gas. We googled this spot & it did not disappoint! The grilled chicken was grilled to perfection. The homemade tortillas, the coleslaw was delicious & the rice was fluffy. I burned my mouth with the salsa but if you like spicy salsa then go for it, it had good flavor. The last at the front was really nice & that makes me always want to come back.

Such a hidden gem!!! Will be returning!!!! I had no idea this place existed. It's a little hidden but definitely worth checking out. Easy way to get your protein in after a good workout

    Two piece dark plate

Enjoy having lunch here. I had the two piece dark plate. The rice was excellent. The chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. The beans were good. Excellent home made tortillas. The price, excellent at $9.99!

That's how you know it's good

Love wood fired anything by. Small spot, specializing in mesquite grilled chicken. Burritos and the like. Not really a dine in spot but I think there is two small tables. Inexpensive and filling, definitely a bargain. Nice people.

Parking will probably be the only downside. Walking up to the business you immediately can smell the chicken and you haven't even open the door yet. Ordered at ease and food was served quickly. Everything on this plate was delicious but the game changer was the tortilla hecho a mano!! The salsa isn't to spicy but has the perfect flavor for the chicken. Pollo pío Pío is definitely the best

A whole dry and overcooked chicken.

I parked on the street without a problem because I didn't see a parking lot. As I approached the small restaurant, there is smoke coming out of a grill which got me excited. I really wanted to like this place especially because they had good Yelp ratings. I was hoping that the one negative review that I had read was just an off day for them. Unfortunately I agree with that rating in that the chicken was incredibly dry from being overcooked. As you walk in, you can see the many whole chickens stacked on top of each other getting dryer by the minute. I get that they are trying to serve you as quick as possible by having the chicken already cooked but I would've preferred to wait 10-15 min for a juicy chicken verses an overcooked one. The people were nice. I just wish the chicken was more flavorful and juicy. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place.

The homemade Flan was pretty good. Should have gotten more.

The family that runs this place are sooo genuinely nice. I'd come back here even if the food isn't good. Luckily, that wasn't the case. Their charcoal grilled/smoked chicken is delicious! For $30 or so, I got 2 whole chickens, 4 large sides (beans and rice), large container of salsa, and 1 dozen handmade tortillas. The freshness of the chicken is what stands out in my mind. Farm to grill fresh. If your a sides person, their rice and the beans are great. I didn't care for the salsa, but it was not bad. The STREET PARKING not great around here, but the food is and that is what counts. Very inexpensive. Total mom and pop dive, I love it!

We love the food, especially the tortillas and pupusas. Our usual order is carne asada tacos and pupusas. We love their salsa too!

I liked the smoky taste of the chicken. It's a takeaway place. The cooking is refreshingly different. Maybe it's authentic Mexican.

Is this restaurant still open or did they close down? I've been trying to order from here but the past 2 days there is no one picking up. Anyone know if they are still in business?

    Definitely still open

They were noticeably weak and lacked flavor, so we politely asked if they could be adjusted. Instead of simply remaking them, we were asked whether we had "stirred the drink," which came across as dismissive and unnecessarily condescending. Unfortunately, the service didn't improve. We requested sauce on the side with one of our dishes, but the order came out incorrectly. I even switched to speaking Spanish to make sure there wasn't a misunderstanding, but it still wasn't resolved. At that point, we decided to let it go rather than wait even longer. If you're into bland food, weak drinks and bad service, this place is a 10/10. For real Mexican food, there are so many better options in LA. What stood out most was the manager's response to our concerns. Rather than listening and trying to make things right, the interaction felt defensive from the start. When we explained the issue with the margaritas, the response was essentially to ask if we wanted to return them instead of acknowledging why we were dissatisfied. The evening took an even worse turn when my phone was stolen while we were at the restaurant. I wasn't expecting the restaurant to be responsible for the theft itself, but I did expect some level of empathy or assistance from management. Instead, we felt largely dismissed during what was already a stressful situation. I previously wrote a review describing what happened, but it was removed. So I'll simply say this: based on our firsthand experience, the combination of poor drinks, slow and inaccurate service, and an unhelpful management response left us with no desire to return. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to improve how customer concerns are handled in the future.

We had been to this small quaint and beautiful little restaurant in Montrose before and wanted to try it again. We loved their little Spanish style courtyard, the tapas, paellas, and the setting felt so good for little date night after being away for so long. Unfortunately things did not go as planned. We made reservations for 7:15pm and were hardly even greeted by the hostess that seemed she'd rather be elsewhere then to welcome us to Casa Cordoba. Problem was though even after setting the reservation time and arriving exactly at 7:15pm we weren't seated for 15min even though we saw our table being cleaned and set and just sit there unoccupied for over 15min. So we waited. When we finally sat down...our server didn't come by for another 10-15min. But we were patient and we waited. Alvin finally came -- brought us water and opened the wine we brought. A special one for this type of occasion (corkage fee was $30). We ordered the paella with squid ink and seafood since it takes up to 45min to prepare and sat down to enjoy the wine and take in the setting. That night they had live music -- a guy on an acoustic guitar playing some cool songs, from Maroon 5 to Backstreet Boys on a 12 string...at least it was live. It was pleasant. The server didn't attend to us much and just had an air about him. Idk -- they may have been super busy but wasn't sure. Finally the paella came. It was...good. Not plentifully. 7-8mussels, a quarter of an octopus tentacles, and a couple of calamari. If you're thinking that much it and rice then you're right. It was mainly rice. No vegetables accompanying it but that's the dish. That was $57 for the small version. I've made paella before. It takes time and it's a production -- but at least at home I can make one for half that price for 8 people. Maybe that's why we don't go out so often bc it ends sometimes like this. We expect a nice meal, a welcoming host or hostess, a server who enjoys the food and atmosphere and makes us feel at home, and food that we could never prepare at home. It's suppose to be an experience that you are happy to pay for. This wasn't. We were disappointed and just felt like wanting to leave. The last straw was when I signed the check on a toast machine and asked for the printed copy. The server, Alvin just left the toast machine with us and left -- attending to others and leaving us with this machine. All I wanted at the end was a thank you for dining with us and the printed copy. We had to flag another server for that copy. He eventually came, with disdain written all over and just handed me the copy, as if I had taken his time to get my the receipt which I asked. That pretty much did it. I asked to speak with the manager and was told--"oh sure. I can get him--he's the chef, give me a minute." I was floored!! No wonder!!! The chef. The back of house manager is also the front of house manager!! That says a lot. You're front of house and your guests are not being taken care of? What kind of restaurant is this? With these prices? Regardless that was it. We left -- had some great ice cream and spoke about the whole experience all the way back home. Great date night eh? Not returning.
