Best carnitas tacos in town!!!! The customer service was fantastic tand the ambiance was okay but the carnitas tacos were simply amazing!!! I'll definitely be back!

Sopes al Gusto. Delicious with the Valentina sauce!

One of my favorites Mexican restaurants. The ambiance and design of the place makes it feel like you have teleported to another county! The food came out hot and nicely displayed.

Green wet asada Burrito Mojado en Salsa Verde

When in Rome do as the Romans do. One of my favorite things about Los Angeles is the Mexican culture and the gift of their cuisine. While running some errands in the area I found this place on Yelp. Pretty typical of a family owned Mexican restaurant. A bit warm inside as the air conditioning was on but not working very well. Overall clean but a bit disheveled in some capacities. Two small children running all over the place apparently unsupervised until mom came out after what seemed like forever. I'm sympathetic to understanding having to have your children with you at work but perhaps keep an eye on them when there's customers inside and in general. I decided to go with some tacos, 1 each of the following: El Pastore, Carnitas, Carne Asada, and Pollo Asada. Street tacos, small with onion, cilantro, and hot salsa. El Pastore was solid , nice spicy with just enough sweet, Carnitas was decent but didn't blow me away , Pollo Asada was tasty but a bit dry , and lastly and their strongest of what I tried the Carne Asada was tasty a nice char and a well balanced flavor. I washed it all down with a Diet Coke and felt over all a decent experience. As I love to Yelp I began to snap photos to which I was asked why I was doing so to which I informed them with a smile "For Yelp " they asked if I had a card.... " no, I just love to Yelp" Sorry guys in this day and age we Yelpers can either be your best ally or worst enemy. Good folks , perhaps just an off day. I'd give it another go but definitely take it to go this time.

I got the carne asada burrito and was disappointed. I'm not usually picky specially when it comes to supporting local businesses. BUT the asada in the burrito was too salty. That wasn't it, the rice in the burrito smelled and tasted like it was more than 4 days old. I thought it was just me so I had two more bites prior to my last one but no the rice just tasted OLD! the beans in it were ok.The only good thing was the green salsa. Not spicy but good However if you use your card to pay they charge you a extra $1 without letting you know, I didn't care about the extra dollar but they don't tell you about it.

I don't give up fives very often. But this place blew me away. I've seen this restaurant many times and look like any other Mexican restaurant. Today one of my friends made me go in there for dinner. I ordered the Chile relleno plate and my friend had a burrito. I only spent around $18, which these days it's a bargain free meal like this. Specially for two items that come in, big portions. I also forgot to add that my plate came with homemade tortillas. When I saw the tortillas I knew this place was going to be amazing. I have never had Chile rellenos that come with onions and grilled peppers on top. My plate came with two chiles and Some of the most tasty red sauce I have ever had on top of them. You can definitely taste spices and seasonings in the sauce it self. I was not expecting the size that I got for only $11. This is not to include the fact that this was the best chili relleno I have ever had. All I was eating my dinner, It was in explosion of flavors in my mouth. It was seriously a home-cooked dinner. I loved the mother and daughter duo. It was like having my grandmother cook for me and the detail in their meals is fully noted. Also try their salsa as they speak for themselves. This is seriously a hidden gem on Sunland Boulevard. Do not knock this place, you have to try this authentic Mexican place

El Mariachi Loco is a typical local Mexican joint you can find all around the Sunland-Tujunga area. Tacos, chile rellano, nachos, caldo and the like. This is good solid Mexican food that's reasonably priced and the service is fast and friendly. I was troubled by the guy with the pit bull sitting beside his table - clearly not a service animal but I'm not sure what the rules are about that. The space is brightly lit and clean and my rating accurately reflects our experience - A-OK.

The most authentic and hands down best tacos I've had in Los Angeles. Family run and this place is as good as it gets. Must try!

The service was outstanding; they refilled said chips and AMAZING salsa three times. The food (generous portions) came our quickly and they refilled the waters before being asked. What can you make vegan? I asked, since the menu didn't mention anything specifically. The waiter, unbothered, began listing what they could make me but I stopped him pretty quickly at enchiladas. They ended up being good but the star of the plate was their vegan rice; it was clearly different from what all the meat eaters got on their plates. There's was yellow/orange, but mine was green and fragrant- cilantro and lime clearly central in the cooking. SO GOOD! I will definitely come back for the service and to try something else from the ready list of vegan entrees they seemed happy to offer off-menu.

Very attentive, patient with our decent-sized party, and very professional and friendly the entire time. He makes an amazing margarita and gave us great food recommendations as well. He also handled all of our party shenanigans with friendliness and good humor, which definitely did not go unnoticed. Huge thank you to Javier and all of the staff for making our experience so wonderful. We'll absolutely be back again!

Last Saturday, we celebrated a family member's birthday at this restaurant. Just want to say right…read moreoff the bat that this place really hit it out of the ball park in almost all aspects of the dining experience. First off, it's a beautiful restaurant with Spanish touches throughout. There is seating inside and outside the restaurant in the courtyard. In the courtyard, there was a musician playing the guitar. Loved, LOVED his rendition of Hotel California. Really put me in a relaxing mood. The food here is unbelievably good with a few minor exceptions. Here is a run down of everything we had: -Patatas Bravas 5/5 stars. The roasted potatoes were delicious and the creamy sauce drizzled on top made it that much better. -Croquetas de Jamon y Pollo 4/5 stars. I remember it being tasty, but it wasn't as memorable as some of the other things I tried. -Gambas al Ajillo 5/5 stars. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavored. Even the bread, which tasted like sourdough, was fantastic. -Calamares Fritos 10/5 stars. No, that is not a typo. I usually avoid calamari like the plague since I'm not a fan of the taste. Here, however, I couldn't stop eating the calamari. I was popping them in my mouth like popcorn. There was something about the batter they used to coat the calamari. It had a satisfying crunch to it. Didn't even need the sauce it came with. -Prime Ribeye (prepared medium rare) 3/5 stars. The steak was okay. It was a bit undercooked and didn't have a nice crust on it. -Papitas Fritas: 10/5 stars. Once again, not a typo. The fries here were something special, which is saying a lot since fries are ubiquitous. The fries were delicately crispy and delicious. -Jamon Iberico Cebi de Campo with Manchego Cheese 4/5 stars. The Jamon Iberico was good, but not great. It had a slightly weird after taste that I usually don't get from high quality Jamon Iberico. -Tarta De Queso and Churros con Chocolate 3/5 stars. These were the only two items that I was truly disappointed with. There was nothing special about these dessert items. The churros were bland. -Cucumber Mint Cooler and Devil's Day Off 5/5 stars. Both of these drinks were refreshing. The Cucumber Mint Cooler, in case you're wondering, could best be described as a well executed, non-alcoholic cucumber mojito. The Devil's Day Off was a fizzy grapefruit and cinnamon delight. I have to end this review with the service. It was top notch. Our server, Robert, was not only extremely friendly, but helpful and informative. He walked us through the menu and talked us out of ordering certain items so that we wouldn't over order food or get items too similar to one another. At one point, we were debating whether to order the Churrasco a la Plancha (8 oz ribeye) or 12 oz ribeye. One person from our family wanted the fritas that only came with the Churrasco while another person (me) wanted the 12 oz ribeye. Robert resolved the disagreement by suggesting that we just order the 12 oz ribeye and they'll throw in the fritas for free (which they did). At the end of the meal, he made sure to point out that the gratuity had already been added to the bill and that there was no need to add a tip. We appreciated the heads up, otherwise we may not have noticed that. If it's not clear from my write up, I really enjoyed this place, despite a few items that missed the mark. If it wasn't so far away from where I live, I would have been back this weekend to try out more items from the menu.
