    Chicken Burrito

If you are craving Mexican Food and don't have the time to drive to Mexico, come here. True family operation serving up home cooked Mexican Food. The woman who took our order and delivered the food to the table was very friendly and helpful. Check in on YELP and get a free lemon drink from their fountain--delicious! Free and easy parking in their shared lot in front. I got the Chicken Burrito ($13.00) and my friend Carne Asada ($20.00). I tried the Carne and both dishes were very good. The Carne was nicely seasoned and easy to chew. My Chicken Burrito had high salt content though--so if you get the Chicken Burrito--must like salt. The homemade salsas--all 3 were excellent and I dowsed my Burrito in the most spicy one. Place is clean and they have a separate men's and woman's restroom--men's was fine and I liked their urinal that prevents splashback. During your meal they play LOUD Mexican party music in the dining room--really gives the place a fun atmosphere. So like I said--if you were thinking of driving down to Tijuana or Ensenada--just come here--save the fuel expense.

Awesome women owned business with fresh good Mexican food. Great friendly service and yum Birria tacos with the consommé to dip them in. A local favorite spot. Support women owned businesses! Super clean and causal dining area. Churros too!

My husband and I were driving past In N Out and the line was LONG (as usual) so we ended up Lichis next door! The restaurant is actually quite cute inside! It is very clean and I loved the deco. The menu is minimal, but I actually prefer that since I'm not a fan of large menus. I got the bowl with carne asada. I thought for $14, the portion was great. The green sauce that came with it tasted very fresh. I'd get this again! My husband got the nachos, which were just okay. It felt a little lack luster especially since that's what he ordered for dinner. We will probably come back to try other things but skip the nachos. The staff were really friendly and kind! There is plenty of free parking.

This is my second review for this place because I wanted to highlight their happy hour options. I went yesterday for some tacos and was so pleased (not a surprise!) with both of these: birria and pastor tacos. They were both meaty, not greasy at all and with great flavor. I love their birria plate here also. I will definitely keep coming back to try more things. The cashier was very friendly and kind. The place is cute, super clean and offers free water and chips with your order. Oh, and I love their salsa verde.

Wow! The food here is delicious and generous. They have a lovely selection to choose from. Everything is made fresh to order. The service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is super charming.. The deco is simple.. They have some beautiful plants that I wanted... let me tell you... EVERYTHING is super clean... I'll be back for sure!

My family and I loved our breakfast at Lichis Mex! The whole time we were devouring our meal, I kept thinking that Guy Fieri would absolutely lose his shit over this place and I mean that in the best was possible. It's neighborhood friendly, family recipes from Zacatecas and everything is amazingly delicious. Lichi's Mex should be featured on "Triple D"! We got the Chorizo Hash and the Chilaquiles w/ a side of guacamole, salsa and chips. The meal had a very high "wow" factor to it and the Horchata was a 10/10. We can't wait to come back and try more from the menu! Thank you Lichis Mex!

I had such a great dining experience last night! We often order take out from here, but I decided to dine in by myself last night. I wish I remembered her name, but the cashier was absolutely lovely and so kind. It makes such a huge difference when staff are kind and friendly, it made me feel happy to be there. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and a side of chips and salsa. Amazing, as always, and my go-to order! I love it here.

Have already been numerous times! Absolutely delicious tacos, love all the salsas. Their flan is one of the best I've had, perfectly soft and firm, not too sweet. Every lady I've interacted with has been friendly and sweet. We have got the breakfast tacos a few times...absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! Can't wait to go back. My only complaint is they don't open till 9am

AHHHH I LOVE LICHIS SO MUCH!!!! So fresh and delicious and consistently amazing. I order delivery from them... uh... a lot hahaha and now that we are displaced from our home in Altadena, I still drive to go pick it up or eat there! The ladies that work there are so sweet and nice and it's always clean and bright inside. Slightly more of a pick up spot but honestly love eating in too when I can. Go to favs are the quesitaco (aka birria with cheese) and the consommé, cheese enchiladas verde, chips and guacamole, literally all the salsa (so fresh!!!) and omg the HORCHATA is the best I've ever had. Support this local spot, such a hidden little gem!

Lichis Mex boasts the best fish and shrimp tacos in town, superstar service, and a clean and thoughtfully decorated interior. It surprises me that they don't have more business, but if you were looking for one: here's your *sign* to give this restaurant a shot. I haven't tried a menu item I didn't like! Oh, and make sure to order your taco "Lichis" style for some extra flavor!

I'm sooo glad we decided to stop by Lichis Mex! We had been driving around with our kids to see a few new spots and decided to try a new place to eat while we were at it. It's right next door in the shopping center to the In N Out Tujunga. I wish I had taken more pics of the food but believe me when I say everything is excellent and fresh here. We did dine in which also comes with free chips and salsa. We tried two burritos, street tacos (lichis way), asada torta and freshly made churros. Omg it's been a long time that I've found a delicious and authentic Mexican food place. Thank you guys!! The meat is fresh and tender, spiced perfectly, put me in such a happy mood. Oh yes, I loved it so much I'm typing this while I'm sitting in their restaurant. They have awesome music, plants and sombreros everywhere and all around super clean place. Whether you eat here or order out, I highly recommend this place. The asada torta was perfection, but even more so we loved the variety of tacos we got. The Al pastor comes with pineapple (lichis way) and it's phenomenal. Before I forget I gotta get to the churros. Super delicious and the dips made them super amazing. We will definitely be back here for sure.

For for first timers, I'd recommend ordering the Villa's Trio which is what I got. Those come with the Ranchera Asada quesotaco as well as the Papas con Chorizo and Black Bean con Pollo quesotacos which are a trio exclusive. All the tacos were meaty, flavorful, and crispy. You honestly don't even need the side sauces since the tacos are already flavorful on their own. Great quality. I also got the Watermelon Agua Fresca which was refreshing, tasty, and sweet. Goes well with the tacos. I also got the Jamaica Agua Fresca, but that one was a bit too tart for my liking. The line can get long, so I would prepare to wait for up to an hour on weekends. There's ample free parking at the grocery store lot nearby. For seating and tables, it's limited and competitive. You just have to get lucky if a spot clears up as soon as you get your food. I also like how the restaurant handles crowd control. They allow a couple of people at a time to go inside, order, and get their condiments. You wait outside until they call you for your food. I like that it didn't feel crowded while I was getting my condiments. I highly recommend this spot and I will definitely be coming back.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We only got the carne asada and the al pastor but it was so good we went back in line for seconds. The meat was very flavorful - the carne asada was thin but still very tender. The al pastor, I think uses a fattier cut than some other places but keeps it from drying out. The tacos were leaking meat juices still. The surrounding streets are quite dark at night but the parking lot the stand is in, is well lit and there is a covered seating area. We went on Thanksgiving weekend and there were maybe always 15-20 ppl in line at any given time. I imagine there are longer lines in the summer.

The tortillas tasted amazing, the quality was great, and I even recommended the place to friends. Then I found out the flour tortillas are made with pork lard. What makes this especially disappointing is that this is NOT clearly disclosed anywhere inside the restaurant. For people who are Jewish, Muslim, vegetarian, or simply do not eat pork for religious or personal reasons, this is a huge issue. I would have never ordered the flour tortillas had I known. I understand traditional recipes may use lard, but customers deserve transparency. There should either be: - a clearly visible disclosure in the restaurant and on the menu, or - a vegetarian/vegetable oil flour tortilla option available. It's honestly heartbreaking because the food itself was incredible, but finding this out after eating there several times made me feel sick and betrayed. This could easily be avoided with proper labeling and consideration for customers with dietary and religious restrictions. Really disappointed and will never return again unless they offer a non-pork flour option.
