When I called them they said they were busy but they didn't let me know so I could make other plans. I almost missed my train because of Oregon Taxi. I will never use them again. I called them and the guy said all his drivers were in Springfield. Then he checked and saw if he had anyone signing on and he assigned a driver from out of town to come get me. This review is mixed, as I would give the drivers 4 stars (always reasonably nice), the cars 2 stars (I'll explain below), and love that they have a mobile app to order with. I took a taxi today, and there was a HOLE IN THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. I could see the ground beneath me. When I pointed it out to the woman driving, she just said to cover the hole with a mat... Not exactly the quality of car I would like to drive me around. Despite the friendliness of the drivers and convenience of a mobile site, I cannot condone using such shoddy cars in a taxi fleet. This company advertises a student discount but doesn't give it to students that they actually pickup at the university dorm - the student has to ask the driver for it and the driver has to chose to apply the discount is what I was just told by the dispatcher. It would be taking money out if the drivers pocket she said. Then why advertise the student discount I asked . She hung up the phone. This company values their drivers income over our children. They completely overcharged my daughter who was new to the area and they didn't apologize for it but actually defended their actions. The driver did not follow my route instructions which kinda set me off. Well to skip to the point. I am sure I left some personal property in the car by accident. But the driver was so big she could barely walk let alone assist with anything at some point amusing of figuring out the doors and loading / unloading my stuff my company phone came up missing. We waited more than 90 minutes after the fireworks at Alton Baker Park for 2 cabs that were always "on the way." We talked with dispatch multiple times, long after we could have walked the mile home. I had just finished finals and was trying to get a ride to the airport. I scheduled my ride originally for 4:45 and when it wasn't there by 4:50 I called. They had said that I had "canceled" the ride which I hadn't. They said that they would for sure have one for me by 5 and that they would make sure of it. I called at 5:08 after my assured 5:00 ride wasn't there. They had "canceled" my ride. My next taxi didn't show up until 5:40 a hour after when I was supposed to get it. He then proceeds to turn right onto 18th ave but at the last second he whips that Toyota Prius around without warning pulls a very illegal u-turn while I slam on the breaks. I have mixed feelings about Oregon Taxi. Before I had a car, I called them quite often for rides to the grocery store or the airport. Response times varied - sometimes there was a cab right in the area I was in, and other times it took up to 20 mins. A couple times I was on a tight schedule and, of course, they took closer to 20 minutes to show up. This is a long time, considering Eugene isn't THAT big and doesn't have crazy traffic. This was a concern to me, because if safety is an issue - trying to get picked up at night in a shady area, or trying to get a ride because walking isn't safe for whatever reason - then they aren't the most reliable option. I never found the cabs to be dirty or in poor condition. The drivers were sometimes chatty, sometimes all business - this is pretty typical, and I have no complaints... except for that one time. I called for a cab to meet me at an intersection in the U.O. campus area. I was there at the intersection, waiting for a good 20 minutes. I called the operator and they told me someone was on the way. Ok, fine. Eventually I got fed up and just started walking. I later received a text from the driver that said: "That intersection doesn't even exist," and shortly after I received another that said, "Well, that was rude!" apparently in reference to my not being there. What?! I get that it's annoying to take the time to drive somewhere to pick up someone who is nowhere in sight, but like... I was there for a good while. This driver did not call me to clarify the location or let me know they had arrived. Instead, they were unprofessional and rude. This incident really turned me off of Oregon Taxi. I would like to say, though, that the operators who schedule the rides were always very nice and efficient. Once I called them in tears (long story) needing a cab and the person asked, "Honey, are you ok?" I really appreciated that extension of humanity. I needed it. read more

I have used Oregon Taxi on countless occasions as a shuttle service to and from the airport. They have always arrived for pick-up early, not on time, early. The drivers are friendly, and the cabs are usually in pretty good condition. What else can you ask for? read more

the driver was beyond rude, he was speeding and driving erratic, when asked to not do so, he made a point to speed faster and stop and go even more and threatened to kick us out of "his" cab.. when we mentioned his driving was making my wife sick, he proceeded to drive EVEN FASTER AND STOP AND GO EVEN MORE ERRATICALLY, when we mentioned it again, he kicked us out, to which we agreed happily..(had to walk 6 blocks in 38 degree weather) we called dispatch to inform them of said wrong doing and they shrugged us off... we both have been using oregon taxi for years with no issues and good tipping... yall have lost our business as well as all of the business from our respective establishments, one being a higher end restaurant downtown and the other being a busy college bar, both of which we manage.. UPDATE: A couple of days later, oregon taxi got a hold of me, let me know they had disciplined the driver and offered me a ride for the serious inconvenience. Zero points. On January 5th in the morning I made an online booking for the taxi for 2:30 pm, to Eugene airport, and got the booking confirmation on my e-mail with the order number. The taxi didn't arrive at 2:30pm, at 2:40pm I'd called there and 7 minutes later they picked up the phone and told that only emergency rides are to be made that day. I didn't get this information at the time of the booking, nor later until I called. It is unacceptable not to provide such information during the booking and only learn it an hour before the boarding time. I'm really disappointed with their service, will never use it again or recommend it for a friends. Wish the Uber/Lyft will replace it soon. read more

Quick pick up. Within a minute or two. Nice guy. My only criticism is that when I asked for a receipt the driver said "it will be emailed to you". I said "how does square know my email address " and he insisted that " it knows." It didn't know but not to worry if you go to Square and put in the date the last four, the exp date and the exact amount you can see the receipt (including the signature which is sort of creepy -but that's something for philanderers to worry about, not me and really has nothing to do with this Taxi company). This is going to be a drawn out email. But I am disgusted with the company and the lack of customer service I experience REGULARLY. Just because your taxi service is the largest in the city does not give you permission to screw over customers. On New Years Eve, I made an online reservation and was immediately given a confirmation email containing a confirmation number. To anyone familiar with the process, receiving that number signifies the certification of a service. I still have the original email as well. It does not say anywhere that the times are subject to deviation of any kind. However, I am intelligent enough to expect some delay on such a busy holiday. That being said, making the reservation FOUR HOURS in advance should have given you enough time to delegate a single driver to the customers who had enough forethought to plan ahead. My pickup time came and went quickly. I waited 10min before calling. It quickly turned to 20 due to your incoming call volume. Once I finally got a hold of a dispatcher, I was greeted (and i use that term with much sarcasm) by the most callous, uncivil woman I have encountered in dealing with this company. I has spent years of my adult life working in customer service, doing more than sitting in front of a phone so the attitude and disrespect I tolerated was befitting of a child who was raised in the wilderness. The response I was given when requesting a pick-up, aside from being surly, was that there was a 45min wait time. When I explained that I had made a reservation hours prior and my requested pickup time had long passed, the woman paused before repeating herself like any obligation the company has can be ignored as deemed necessary. She did give me the option to make a new reservation and reiterated the timing stipulation before hanging up on me, which I think is unbecoming of a service provider of any kind. The next event only enhanced my growing anger which originally was frustration before the phone call. The location I specified for my pickup is a regular destination for a cab service. Not that they'd line up outside the way they do at airports, but it wasn't a place they had to google to find. Within 30min of the phone call one of your drivers arrived; thinking they were looking for me, I approached the driver only to find out I was incorrect in my assumption. Long story short in this scenario, the individual the driver was there for did not accept the offer, leaving the driver without a fare. Before she left, I asked the driver if she would take me instead. He answer was a curt "No" and her defense was that she had other pre-planned fares lined up. Before i attempted explaining my, now 5hour old reservation she got in her car and drove off. I waited 2 more hours, considering making a 2.5hour walk in 30degree weather just to save myself the headache. After another few hours into the, literally, brand new year, and SEVERAL phone calls to many cab companies I was finally connected to a dispatcher whose opening was "There is a 1.5hour wait time". Now when I explained the ENTIRE ordeal(shorthand version) I was put on hold as if to assess the significance of my plight. When the dispatcher returned, it was like deja vu. The wait time was repeated and I was offered the option to an over-the-phone reservation before being hung-up on immediately after I agreed. Another hour passed before I was able to take a DIFFERENT taxi, and I still never got a call saying that the Oregon Taxi i had requested 3 different time ever showed up. It honestly makes me sick that I am forced to review this information via email since a manager cannot even be bothered accepting a phone call. This is beyond pathetic. There are no words to describe the level of anger and revulsion I have for this company. read more

I am a public safety employee working in the Eugene Springfield metro area. I recently evaluated a patient that did not want to go by ambulance to the hospital. This individual was intoxicated and only wanted a ride home. She stated that she would take a taxi home but did not have a phone to call one. Because I felt that this was an appropriate option for her to get home, I used my personal phone to call her a cab from Oregon Taxi. Skip forward to this afternoon as I attempt to arrange a cab from Oregon Taxi for my wife. The call-taker/dispatcher informed me that my number was black-listed because the individual that I helped last month didn't pay her cab driver the $20 fare. The dispatcher tried to be helpful and clear the blacklist note when I explained to her the circumstances. Unfortunately she was unable to make to note go away and when she asked someone else in the office for help with clearing the note, she was told that there was no way to do it and that "he shouldn't let people use his phone then". I'm very sorry that the cab driver that I called for last month wasn't compensated for their service. I feel that we were both trying to help an individual in a tough situation. I'm also very sorry that I even called Oregon Taxi in the first place. They've lost not only the $20 from that night last month but any future business that I might have given them. read more

This past Sunday (8/9/15), I had a reservation for an airport pickup at 10:30PM. I made the reservation by phone earlier in the day. We got our luggage and saw one Oregon Taxi pull up as we were heading outside. The driver was Scotty and he said he was there to pick up someone else named Mark. Another Oregon Taxi pulled in, but said he didn't have a reserved fare. I asked if he could take us anyway, but he ignored me and took someone else who just happened to walk up with no reservation. It's pretty annoying when I go out of my way to make a reservation, but someone without a reservation gets picked up first. Then Scotty, who thinks Mark isn't going to show, offers to take us, but he's also trying to take another fare at the same time. The other fare got skittish about who was going to get dropped off first (as were we), and when she backed out, Scotty got really upset. He started throwing our luggage into the back of his cab and this was after we had already told him that we were carrying fragile glass. While all this was happening, I called Oregon Taxi dispatch to find out where our cab was and was told there was no reservation with my name on it. As we got into Scotty's cab (with our luggage already piled inside), I received a text message indicating that my taxi was on its way to the airport. When I mentioned this to Scotty, he kicked us out of his cab, saying his boss would be upset if he took us when another cab was on the way. Why I was told no reservation existed and then received the text message, is a mystery that may never be solved. But what was even more mysterious was Scotty's mistreatment of us and our luggage. Equally mysterious was why the cab drivers, both Scotty and the guy who took the non-reserved fare, wouldn't just say "no problem, hop on in, our dispatcher will take care of the reservation issue." Even without a reservation, I had a right, as the first one waiting on the curb, to the first available taxi. That my existing/non-existing/then existing again reservation prevented me from receiving the best possible customer service from Oregon Taxi, is a faulty policy on their part. Our "reserved" cab finally showed up right after that (about 10 minutes after this all began). But a trip that began three time zones away and had gone without incident up to that point, ended very unfortunately and unprofessionally. Rest assured that Oregon Taxi won't be my first consideration the next time I need a taxi in Eugene. read more

So, story time. We call for a cab at 1 PM from the grocery store. We decided that we wanted to get some pumpkins, and couldn't take them home by walking. We call Emerald City and ask if they had a cab that could fit three people, a bike, and some groceries. They say yes, but with an hour wait. We pass and call Oregon Taxi, who tell us they have a van that could fit us all, available in twenty minutes. We think perfect, book it and finish shopping. We wait outside the store in the sun. Twenty minutes pass. No cab. Then fourty minutes pass. No cab. A little past 2 pm I get a call from Oregon Taxi that says they in fact don't have a vehicle free for us that can fit all three of us, and they won't for another thirty minutes. They're sorry. They suggest we book and pay two smaller cabs (for double the price of the initial ride, which they could get to us in the next ten minutes. We can't afford two cabs, and send one of our party to start heading home alone on their bike, uphill. We tell them we will just use one cab, a small one, for just the two of us and some groceries. They tell us that they will get it to us ASAP, in the next ten minutes. By now it's around 2:15, and our ice cream and frozen food is melting. Ten minutes pass, no cab. At 2:25, a cab pulls in. Hooray! It's not ours. It drops someone else off, and leaves. At 2:35 another cab pulls in, drops someone else off, and leaves. At 2:40 we get a notice that our cab is on its way. By now we've been outside with our groceries for going on and hour and fourty five minutes. It takes another twenty for our cab to get to us, in which two other cabs pass by us. We load all of our groceries into a cab, when they tell us that we're in the wrong cab. We unload all of our groceries, when a new cab pulls up: one large enough to fit three people, with a bike attachment, so we didn't even need to send our friend out biking home. We are charged in full for the experience. Never before have we experienced mind-bogglingly bad customer service and communication as with Oregon Taxi (who apparently has their casual dispatch office outsourced to the Philippines, which is why our time estimates were so skewed). Save yourself the time, call an Uber. (Or Lyft, or Emerald City, or rent a car, or call a friend. Really anything would have been better.) read more
