I ordered same-day 2-way ride. Everything went well. The pick-up at my home was 15 min. late but since I was going to a drop-off not an appointment, it wasn't a problem. In order to get to an appointment on time I will book the trip pick-up time earlier than I would expect it to be. The return driver went a step beyond what some others would do by coming into the building to find me since I wasn't waiting outside. As usual, he had texted his expected arrival time but I had my phone on mute and missed it. He was a little early and if he hadn't come inside I would not have had a ride home. Beware: Prebooking in no way reserves a taxi. Having scheduled a ride the day before meant nothing: they were too busy to keep their commitment. It caused a horribly stressful start to my surgery day and negatively affected my health. On the other hand, everyone was very nice. The afternoon dispatcher lies; i.e., tells you what you hope to hear. The morning dispatcher really tried to help me and eventually found me a driver. Fortunately, the surgery center was flexible about my arrival time. Not even one star. We booked at ride the night before, to leave for the airport at 5:15am. Right AT 5:15, my husband got a text that the driver was sick and not going to make it. WHAT? My husband started to unhook and prepare our SUV to drive us (and our five bags), to get to the airport on time, even though parking would cost $400. We got there in time for the flight, but not in time to check bags, so we had to take a different cross-country flight, flying into a different airport, having to stay the night in a hotel and rent a car to get to our home in North Carolina. It was HUGELY INCONVENIENT AND EXPENSIVE and we were flabbergasted that Oregon Taxi doesn't have any sort of backup when a driver is indisposed, and that they wouldn't have the courtesy to tell us in time for us to get another ride! For years I've been a satisfied customer. I'm having to reevaluate that position. I reserved a cab more than 12 hours in advance, emphasizing that I needed to reach my destination at a specific time. One hour before my scheduled pickup, I called to confirm my reservation and remind them that I needed to be on time. Five minutes after I expected to be picked up, having heard nothing from the driver, with no cab in sight (and now getting worried), I called again, and was assured the cab was "on its way." Twenty minutes later, just as I was late for my commitment, the cab drove into the driveway. This is not "good enough" for me. I can't count on Oregon Taxi to do what they say they will do, and I can't recommend that anybody else rely upon them either. I thought the entire point of scheduling ahead was to increase reliability, but even if I had reserved this ride days earlier I'm not sure it would have happened on time. Since I don't know how to make this more dependable I will have to look at other options. read more

I would not even give one star. I set up a ride to the airport the day before for a pick up time at 3:45am. I verified that this would not be a problem. Dispatched assured me not to worry. At 3:50 am I called to check on the status of my ride. The dispatch gentleman told me that no cab had been dispatched to my location that they were all on other rides. He told me to call another company or try Uber. I told him I prearranged this ride the day before. He said I can't help you it would be 30 min before a driver would be free. He Informed me day shift over books rides for this time in the morning. Let me know the drivers are independent contractors so there is never a guarantee someone will be available. This is the second time this has happened in the last six months. I use to be a huge supporter of Oregon taxi. It is definitely not the same company that it used to be to be. Uber was there to save the day and get me to the airport just in time. If you want to make sure you make your flight don't use Oregon taxi. read more

My mom and I had flown up to OR from CA to help a relative who just had surgery. I had to leave early due to my kids and my mom stayed an extra 2 weeks. Being an already high-stress situation, I wanted to guarantee my mom had a ride back to the airport, preventing any more stress. We couldn't get Uber or Lyft to provide services in driving my mom from Otis, OR to Portland Airport. On Thurs January 26th, I found and booked a ride with Oregon Taxi for Wed February 1st. I immediately called and spoke to someone to give me a quote (even though the App Store says they will quote you a price on the app, they don't). I spoke to a young man who pulled up the booked ride. He reviewed the pickup and drop off locations and told me it was going to be pricey. I already knew it would be, it's a long drive, and we were anticipating it. He gave us a quote and confirmed the ride. Then, my mother called back the same day to confirm the ride and a young lady explained how they would bill/charge my mom. (Again, someone who could see the locations). She called back a couple days later and confirmed the ride, again, to ensure she had a guaranteed ride. Oregon Taxi confirmed, again. Now, at 7:10am on February 1st, the day of the 9am BOOKED AND CONFIRMED ride, they call my mom to tell her they're in Eugene and Otis is too far away, therefore cancelling her ride. I'm sorry, but wth? The ride was booked almost a week in advance and we had spoken to live people several times who confirmed the locations and gave further instructions as to how to pay. Thank God for Lincoln Taxi at the last minute. Oregon Taxi should be renamed Eugene Only Taxi. SMH. So much for trying to be proactive and help my mom get back home stress-free. read more

We've used Oregon Taxi several times the last 2 trips to visit family in Eugene & all our experiences have been great. I utilize their App to make reservations. The App isn't the best, but it gets the job done; wish it would allow edits to your reservation. I've called their number to ask a question or clarify something re: a reservation; they are very laid back but everything worked out fine. Our drivers were always early for our 4am pick up for the ridiculously early outbound flights Eugene is famous for. We had friendly & helpful drivers who drove responsibly & the vehicles were clean & comfortable. The price was reasonable - $16 from the Santa Clara area to the airport. We found out there was no need to reserve a pickup at the airport, even for our 11pm arrival; several taxis were waiting to be used at that hour. Our driver explained that they always have a few taxis hanging at the airport until the last flights arrive. We will continue to use them when we visit. read more

Wish there was less than a 1. I booked a cab 6 hours in advance for 3AM which is when I get off work and lock myself out of my building. After 5 minutes I called and was told they were behind and it would be 10 to 15 minutes. 25 minutes later after sitting out in the rain in a not so great neighborhood my cab driver rolls up. When asked how I'm doing, my response being, pretty pissed off, I get this response....ver batim. "Well it's not my problem. Bookings are not the same as reservations. My husband and I had a terrible experience about a year ago when he needed to go to the hospital for surgery. He had made a reservation the day before. It was very early, 5:15 am and the cab never showed, with the dispatcher showing no concern about my husband's situation. Frantically, I knocked on the door of our neighbor's house at 5: 45 am and he was kind enough to take us to the hospital. My husband contacted the cab co and they were very apologetic, assuring him it would never happen again. He used the co. several times within the last year and all worked well. So... On Sept 13, 2023, I reserved a cab several hours before I needed it at 4:45 pm. No show. I called and the dispatcher at 4:50 said the cab was about 5 minutes away. I waited until 5 pm (when I needed to be at my scheduled destination) and asked why the cab was taking so long. The person I spoke with said that whomever had spoken to me had no right to say that as there was no cab on its way and he had no idea when one would come! Shades of our first experience with this cab company. So I ran next door and my same neighbor took me to my destination. I arrived there at 5: 25. When I checked my phone, i saw that the dispatcher had tried calling me at 5:25 I guess to tell me there was still no cab. Booked an Oregon Taxi for a party of 5 with luggage a week in advance. Specified that we needed a van. We wanted to leave at 11 am to the train station. I we missed this train our week long vacation would be ruined. At 11:15 no car or driver. No communications from Oregon Taxi. Called and were told driver was on his way. At 11:30 the driver arrives in a 5 passenger vehicle with almost no cargo space. Since he was 1/2 hour late there was no time to fix the problem. One of our party had to walk to a bus stop and take a bus to the train station. We crammed the luggage between the seats and in people's laps. Our fifth person who took the bus barely caught the train. When questioned the unapologetic driver stated that nobody is really assigned to reservations, it's just whoever happens to be free around that time. He had no excuse for showing up in a five passenger vehicle to haul 6 people. Avoid these clowns at all costs. read more

Was told my taxi was 10 min out. Another Oregon taxi came and stopped. I talked to driver, she refused to take me because someone else had my reservation. 10 min more. 15 min more kept calling. 5 more minutes. After 35 min I was finally picked up. Ridiculous. Person on phone was rude. Told me public transport is not reliable and I should just calm down and wait. Why did I bother booking. Never again will I use this company. They are rude and not reliable. Taxi's by their nature are hit or miss; it's driver dependent. If you need a ride when everyone else needs a ride you might have a wait, especially during morning hours when no one wants to be awake driving. There's also a general shortage of workers all around thanks to covid, and taxi drivers are no exception. This company is solid, tries their best and have nice vehicles. Drivers obtain a permit, go through a DMV & background check and have training. Dispatchers are friendly and communicate effectively. Not sure why this company only has 2 stars. I guess getting a DUI or walking across town sounds better to some folks. read more

The dispatcher cancelled my ride just because I was upset about waiting an hour. I raised my voice a little just like any justifiably angry person would do. I was not swearing, threatening or any thing else. The woman was spiteful and she didn't care whether I got where I needed to or not. Don't bother... they may be Eugene's biggest taxi service but they are also hands down Eugene's worst... twice in the last few months calls to book a cab well in advance of need proved to be exercises in lies and excuses when in both cases Eugene Taxi didn't show up causing me to miss my train. In BOTH cases when reserving the ride, I was repeatedly assured there would be no problem in picking me up. Phone calls when the driver didn't show were met with rudeness and a cavalier "drive yourself" response when I asked how to avoid repeat performances. Cody, the dispatcher I spoke with on both occasions is completely worthless in his task. A truly despicable outfit not worth your hard earned money. DO NOT USE OREGON TAXI IF YOU HAVE A FIXED APPOINTMENT TIME...YOU WILL MISS IT. Oregon Taxi has gotten better. Pros: Usually on time. Clean cabs. Mostly decent drivers. Take the quickest route MOST of the time. Reasonable prices. Short wait times. More dependable than most. Cons: The app and web bookings never work. Dispatch never tells the driver the name of the business or building you are going to. Sometimes you get shady drivers that charge you double. Sometimes you get drivers with a bad attitude. Sometimes you get drivers that take the long way. They will not pick up at the location of any UO event, (Autzen Stadium, Matthew Knight Arena...) even though they have particular spots for them to do so. read more

We had a reservation for 4:00 a.m. so we could get to the airport in time for our flight. At 4:15 a.m., we still had not seen a taxi or heard from the taxi service. We called up the taxi service, we were told that we were on the list to pick up, they were running 15 or more minutes behind, and they would pick us up in the order of other reservations. We asked them why they had not called us to let us know that there is a delay, and they told us this is the best that they could do. First of all we scheduled a pre-arranged pick-up for a drive to Eugene airport the next morning at 4am. The pre-arranged cost with a "discount" was $25. At 4am no one showed up. I called them and at the same time received a text saying "on the way." Honestly, what does "on the way" really mean? We didn't get picked up until 4:15 and that's unacceptable. The driver claimed he just started work at 4am, and he is the only driver with a van at that time! If I call a taxi for the airport I expect a ride at the designated time with no excuses. The person on the phone the prior night should have admitted they didn't have anyone with a van for a pick-up at 4am. The worst part: We get to the airport, hand the driver the Visa card, and just like prior times he claims he cant use his Visa machine. Then he goes on to say, and this is a quote..."say if you were going to tip me, how about we just call the money you saved by the pre-arranged discount as my tip." Total sleaze tactics by Oregon Taxi. And that experience has happened prior times. From here on, I'll call Uber or Lyft. They are often less expensive. I always had used Oregon Taxi until they forgot to come to my home to take us to the Airport. I called the night before at 7:27 pm ordering a Cab for 6:30 am on September 26, 2018. I thought by calling the night before I would give them plenty of notice that we needed the Cab to take us to the Airport. Well at 6:40 am NO CAB. I called and they realized they forgot to send a cab. They kept me on hold trying to figure out what happened. She said I can have one there in 10 minutes. By this time we did not want to be late for our plane, so we grabbed our keys and drove ourselves to the Airport. This cost us $60.00 for parking. I called when I got home and they said how sorry they were and they had confirmed I called the night before. She said she would get back to me-- guess what I NEVER heard a word again from Oregon Taxi. So I sent them a letter with a copy of my receipt for the cost of parking at the Airport. I felt they should at least pay for my cost of parking at the Airport for $60.00. I have never heard anything for them. So, I guess they do NOT care about their customers and it is OK to make this kind of mistake. My neighbor saw the Cab pulled in our Driveway after we had left and he went over and talked to the driver. The driver was irate that we left--imagine that-- he was upset with us for getting ourselves to the Airport because they forgot to show up. I have cab driver on my security camera and he was 27 minutes late!!! I would encourage you to try another Cab Company or Uber instead of using Oregon Taxi. if I could give negative stars I would! first off, David from Oregon Taxi called to tell me he would be arriving 10 min late (this was at 2:27) thankful for the call however it was more like 15 min late and I ended up being late to my appt. Secondly, when he showed up at my place, he pulled into my driveway so fast that he hit my hose box which shoved it into my home.. i told him and he said (as I'm walking to the vehicle both hands full AND on crutches) "I'm gonna turn around" ok so he turns around and now i had to walk further with hands full (carrying prosthetic that is @ 10 lbs and my drink) so I go to get into the car and it's taking me a min and he looks sideways and says "take all the time you need" ok, we'll thank you. The whole drive he was weaving in and out of traffic.. appt was in Springfield, I was in Eugene. When finally arriving at my appt, i was SO DIZZY and felt nauseous! The inside of the vehicle was so dirty, he definitely was not a gentleman nor apologized for being so late. I will NEVER ride with Oregon Taxi AGAIN!!! ps.. DELUXE TAXI took me home from my appt and the sweet woman driver not only got out and helped me get my stuff into the car, but also made sure i got home safely! Reckless driver put pedestrians (a mother and child) in danger yesterday 3/18, close to 4:30 pm... I was on Pioneer Pkwy and Q St pushing my TWO YEAR OLD in a stroller across the street. The walk signal was on, so WE had the right of way... we were OVER halfway across the street, when the driver of the OREGON TAXI car (male, maybe around 40, short brown hair, driving a Prius) did not stop and wait for us to continue crossing the street. He literally drove right in front of us. He was very aware that we were there, as he was staring directly at my child as he was making the turn. It was a very illegal and dangerous turn and I am absolutely furious that a taxi company would hire such ignorant people that have zero respect for pedestrians, woman, and CHILDREN. I work with memory care at me facility and have been waiting for a taxi for 1 1/2 hours that was supposed to be an ASAP pick up. I called dispatch after an hour of waiting and they told me that they are waiting for someone to pick up the call. The driver seemed irritated, not at us but at dispatch. This is not the first time I have been disappointed. Yesterday morning I had to take another resident, by these guys, to a PT appointment. The guy taking us there was amazing and friendly, the guy picking us up was not. We were out at a few Holiday parties this Season, and didn't have our kids, or anyone else available as a DD so we turned to Oregon Taxi. We have friends that have used them before, and have been satisfied. I thought for sure there would be some sort of a wait time. Our driver was there within 10-15 mins of our call. We didn't want to leave our car where we were at so we requested to have Oregon Taxi drive our car. I am glad they offer this service. The price is really not much more than what you would spend on a cab fare as it is, and it is worth it just to have your car home, and to be home safely. Too many lives lost due to drunk driving lately, so better safe than sorry! My only issue I would say is they left the poor driver at our house for some time. It was a really cold night, we let him inside to warm up. We ended up calling them to let them know he needed a ride back to his van. They were supposed to have been on their way from the start, so not sure where the mix up was. We would have felt bad if we would have just went inside, and went to bed and he was outside freezing. No idea why there are only two stars for Oregon Taxi. I've used them four times while in Eugene and another friend has used them twice. The dispatchers are courteous, and friendly, the drivers are prompt, and willing to talk about anything Oregon / Eugene, they send texts confirming that your car is coming. Other taxis in town haven't answered or returned calls. I'm more than satisfied with Oregon Taxi and my friend has been more than satisfied with them. Prices are completely fair as well. I've had to use Oregon Taxi twice to and from medical appointments when my illness made it impossible to even drive my own car. Each time (two very different drivers), the drivers appeared on time, and got me to my appointments on time. They gave me the help I needed, with patience, to get in and out of the cab and deal with my assistive devices. I had two very different drivers, but each, in his own way, had a very professional personality and very pleasant demeanor. They could tell when and if I was in the mood for chat, and reacted accordingly. I will use Oregon taxi every time I need a taxi to get some place. Finally, there were two different tabs, a minivan and a sedan, and both were clean, well maintained, and safe to ride in. read more
