It's the better airport to use if you want to get close to central Oregon/ Corvallis area without driving from PDX. There's currently a free bus to Corvallis and other locations. It's less expensive to rent a car in town than at the airport, so that's my plan for this trip. read more

This small airport served it's purpose for me this past week. It offers direct flights to several major hubs (including Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco) via airlines like Alaska, United, Delta, and American. Being able to fly in from SFO was great. I noticed there was only one TSA line which can be bad on busy times. I didn't see CLEAR and wasn't sure about a Pre-TSA line. First time at this airport, we typically fly into Portland. I love the small size of this airport, easy to navigate without the hustle of a major airport. Met the nicest TSA agents, very polite and friendly! A small cafe , bar and gift shop are available while you wait for your flight! If you're renting a car, the lot is directly across from the front doors to the airport. Very easy and quick to access. I read that people from my town will sometimes drive out to PDX instead of SEA to catch a plane, even if PDX is further away because it's that much better. I didn't believe it but I had to pick up a rental car when I was in Eugene and now I get it- PDX is a lot less hassle. The Lyft driver who took me to PDX was giving me amazing advice and encouragement about a diet I was taking, telling me he'd shed 40 lbs in a few months by just not eating junk food anymore (Damian, enjoy your 5 stars, king!) so that was a good sign. He dropped me off at the terminal, saying the rental desk was a few feet away and he was right (imagine a rental desk where you don't have to take a shuttle to get to it). The lady at the desk was professional but nice and super efficient, getting me out of there in like 7 mins. Amazing. There are all these duck statues all over the place as a tribute to the university, and the parking is just as close. I might take the advice and fly in and out of PDX just to get past security because small airports are just the best and the little I saw impressed me. read more

Easy to fly into from Vegas, this airport is small enough to make it easy to get in and out of, but big enough that you have a few airline options to take. Parking is easy, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Unfortunately, TSA is a bit slow (but very nice) on getting the TSA Pre-Check people through the line faster than the main line people. But this airport seems to have most of what you need when you are traveling. read more

This is my hometown airport, and I don't think it's too bad for a small one. Even though there are only 3-4 gates, it's still the fifth largest airport in the Pacific Northwest. One thing I do wish is that they had a check-in kiosk for United Airlines here. There's one for Delta and maybe American, but United is conspicuously absent. So even though I checked in online, l still had to wait in line behind everyone who didn't. There aren't a lot of services at this airport given the size. It's got a restaurant downstairs and a snack bar sort of thing upstairs, plus a gift shop. When I was a child and you could accompany travelers to the gate, I used to love the flying people art installation (I think I even remember seeing someone we knew). I still like that but my favorite thing are the human-sized ducks places throughout the airport. My affinity for ducks may not be a surprise given I am a born and bred Eugenean! Parking isn't bad here; the lot always has lots of spaces and the price isn't bad. I've rarely had many problems here, and even when a flight was running a bit late I wasn't too bent out of shape because it's pretty quiet. The history of the place is interesting (in my opinion, anyway). It's called Mahlon Sweet Field for a local early 20th century businessman/aviation enthusiast. (He also was instrumental in the creation of the Eugene Air Park, built about 25 years prior to the airport, and located where the Bi-Mart is on 18th & Chambers). The current airfield was used by the army in World War II. Though it largely provides regional service to portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, and San Francisco, there are other locations served in Southern California, Colorado, Arizona, and so on. I'm thankful they started O'Hare-Eugene service several years ago and will resume next month, because that makes my trip home from Chicago a much more enjoyable trip. read more

Best airport ever. Super small so there aren't long lines. Departures and arrivals are next to each other for drop off and pick up. Only 2 sections of gates (A & B) which are on different floors so they're easy to distinguish. The staff is SO NICE and friendly. They're talkative if you are and if not, that's fine too. No issues with the Eugene airport typically. My main gripe with it is the baggage claim is always terribly slow. I hate waiting for it and I highly recommend you pack light when coming to the Eugene airport. I've flown out of this airport many times and it's my favorite airport to go through. It's super tiny so it's easy to navigate and it's rarely super busy, even during the holidays. There is a lot of short- and long-term parking, but the long-term does fill up quickly during the holiday season so plan accordingly. The security line always moves short quickly. I have precheck so I never have to wait in line to begin with since they're so quick. All of the people who work here are really friendly. I've never had attitude issues from any of the employees here, even at the crack of dawn when any reasonable person would be cranky. The bathrooms are always very clean and the water bottle filling stations work well. read more

I visited Eugene from Des Moines and was able to get here relatively easily via Denver. This is a very small airport, which makes it easy in and easy out, but don't expect much for drinks, dining or shopping as a result. read more

It's a small, relatively quiet airport but still get there two hours before because they do have lines on occasion. There is a perfectly adequate bar/restaurant that is on both sides of security for your convenience. Everyone there is always happy to stop and help you. In addition, due to the University of Oregon "Go Ducks!" there are some awesome life size "Ducks" throughout the airport for appropriate ambiance. Such a great airport with lovely TSA agents. I brought my homemade biscotti to bring to Colorado and they let me bring it through even though they said they don't usually allow it. I gave them some of the extras for their break room due to their kindness. They can get a little handsy if you need a pat down but I don't mind it. If you do, I recommend ironing your underwear cause the machine can get set off from the wrinkles. Overall amazing place, dying to come back!! PS: the wings at Willamettes Grill are great! We flew in and out of Eugene over the weekend and had zero issues. I love these smaller airports where everything is super simple. Last time we visited Oregon we flew into Portland so the first thing I did was look down at the carpet ;) iykyk - good stuff here too! probably not as famous as the PDX carpet though. If you're needing to be in the Eugene area, I highly recommend this airport. We flew out of our small hometown airport (BUR) and were literally valet to gate in 2min, just as we were in Eugene with gate to rental car service. If we didn't have the car to return I'd say my normal showing up 5 minutes after boarding time would be totally fine here. We have TSA precheck but again, such a small airport you barely need such a thing here. They still honor it with a little pass as many of the small airports do which is great. Great staff, friendly service all around. Can't wait to return! read more

The carpeted flooring helped create a cozy vibe for the airport that I enjoyed and stairs led down to where I was picked up and later dropped off. Yes, I am a golfer by recreation and was excited when we arrived. Now, about this little airport, we arrived with USC Trojan Baseball team and I just happened to notice that our luggage off of our flights took 90 minutes, no kidding, and I believe it was a message that the Ducks were sending to USC and not us! Just a tiny, well maintained airport in the beautiful city of Eugene. It has everything you would expect from a small town airport including a closet duck fan statue on the second floor and warm welcoming airport staff. There's not a lot going on and the food choices department. Frequent flight delays are expected since there are very few gates available to accommodate all the flights that come in which can lead to gates being switched out at the last minute and having to walk a little bit to actually get to the plane. read more

There's a delightful cafe, and the airport itself is fun to navigate because of the "flying people "posters. There's even a machine that dispenses poems at the push of a button! My first time here. When coming to Oregon, I always flew into PDX so this was a nice change. This place reminded me of PWM (I know you read that review). Laid back. No one is in a rush. There's no loud speaker yapping away. And you can stretch your arms out and not hit anyone. This airport is small. It feels that taxing to the gate after landing took longer. While heading to the jetway, I kept looking right and left for the terminal. Baggage claim is easy. Just a couple of baggage carousels but I'm not sure where you would go if your bag went missing or you had other problems. I did find the oversized pickup window next to carousel #1. And similar to ORF (I know you read that review) you don't have to leave the airport to get to the car rental. It's about 20 yards from carousel #1. Overall four star. This is a very nice airport and big enough to get you where you want to go but small enough to enjoy traveling. Now excuse me, I gotta get my rental. M read more

I've been to a lot of airports across the planet in my time. This one is quaint, almost like going to a small McCarran Field in the early 1960s. Two small gate areas. I had a nice, and not eye-wateringly expensive breakfast burrito, and passable coffee. The music wasn't too loud. The seats were kinda comfy, and there were enough of them. People were friendly. The lines weren't long. The restrooms were moving, although their corridors aren't very ADA-friendly. It was calm. There weren't five announcements a minute masquerading as airline advertising. Did I mention calm? Short lines? I didn't feel like herded cattle and there's something to be said for that. read more

Nice easy airport. Not huge which means parking is close and easy. I like smaller airports. The downside of smaller airports can be lack amenities and things to eat but this airport had pretty decent options and we got some pretty good pizza at a pace in the terminal. One knock is that rental car counters aren't well-staffed so you'll often see lines forming around flight times. I love the fact that this airport is accomodating to the sight challenged. I've flown from this airport many times, as I live in Eugene. Sure, it's a little bit more spendy to fly from Eugene than it is to fly from Portland, but it's worth it for me, especially when I've flown to my American Dad's in Baltimore, and to California to see my American Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. I even enjoy the fact that they have a restaurant that serves refreshments while you're waitin' for your plane. What's amazing is I've even flown into Eugene from Portland, which is a 38-minute flight on a turboprop plane, as opposed to bein' driven in a car, which takes two hours!
