Just wow! Food, A+ Service, friendly and quick. Everything you want in a good truck. Portions are perfect for the price. Will be returning before we head back north.

Back side of the truck. They don't have crab burgers today. :(

Something I have learned since moving to Newport is that a lot of local restaurants, not all but a good number, serve frozen seafood that may or may not be local. Even the fancy ones. So we pursue local because now we are local and fresh fish is amazing. Oregon Fishmongers is a friendly local foodtruck that moves around between Waldport and Newport. You pick it up at the truck and take it to the beach to eat it whilst staring at the beautiful Oregon ocean views. Nice, right? It is smart to check on their social media to track them down. They are typically open 11-4 or until sold out. If you are hoping for special items like the fish chowder I have heard much about, go early to aquire that or you will miss out like we did. We have had delightful fish and chips from them twice now. The fish ( I have tried cod and rockfish but they have halibut and others) has a crispy delicious tasty perfect panko coating which we love, and is served with yummy tartar sauce, decent coleslaw ( and we usually loathe other people's slaw tbh) , crispy fluffy perfect fries, and ketchup. It is priced at coast prices and it is just solid overall. Go get you some tasty fresh fish!

First time here, ordered the ling cod and chips and the shrimp po'boy. I have had my fair share of fish and chips and this is by far on top 2 spots of them all. Fish is super fresh and fried to perfection, fries are seasoned perfectly and the coleslaw is also delicious. They are very generous on the portion too, we had a lot of fries and coleslaw leftover. Next time I would just get one order of "box o cod" for the fish as share the chips from another order. Price is very cheap for this quality of food. We would definitely come back to try other items on the menu when we are in town.

Wow, that was some fire fish & chips! We drove by the truck although Yelp mentioned it was closed. Their hours didn't match, but maybe it's due to the location. It's fall and most of this community relies on tourism. Customer service and food presentation = 5++ We tried the combo - albacore, shrimp, lingcod, slaw and fries. Whoa ...that's a lotta fish! Hubby and I shared and still had leftovers. The fries were almost a panko texture - crispy and light, the fish breading was the same, light, flaky, and naturally sweet. The slaw was how I enjoy it; heavy on the mayo and oh so creamy. Top that on the fish and let your taste buds scream hallelujah. We also ordered the poor boy which had the same amazing shrimp and slaw, but on an amazing roll! Think Hawaiian roll minus the sweetness. So good, even reheated well in the microwave later that evening. Definitely looking forward to enjoying this next visit. I'm low key disappointed we don't have one closer to home, but there's something to look forward to.

    Cod and chips!

I just started eating and I had to write a review. Overall just a great meal, chips on point and a perfect crisp on the fish. The service was quick and friendly as well. I see many trips to this food truck in the future.

Combo box with shrimp, lingcod, and scallops.

$17 for a combo box with fries, coleslaw and three dipping sauces. Tasted fresh and delicious. Friendly and quick customer service. Highly recommend supporting this family owned small business!

It was a thicker clam chowder, but it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, and they were generous with the ingredients. A very good bowl of chowder. For my main course, I had the combination halibut, king Salmon, and tuna. They were very generous with the portions. The fish was delicious. The halibut and the salmon were tender and juicy. The tuna was just a tiny bit chewier, but it was also very good. The fish was lightly breaded, although a few of the pieces. Were a bit darker than the others. That took away from it just a tiny tiny bit. But overall, successful. The tartar sauce was very good, rich and tangy. Instead of the fries, I finished with the coleslaw. It was not overdressed, and I liked the dressing. It was a sweeter dressing than your standard mayonnaise, but not overly sweet. It was an excellent coleslaw. For all of the quality food I got, the price was very reasonable. I would come back the next time. I'm in town. Thank you!

Nate 2026 Newport, Oregon…read more Came here based on recommendations from somebody in Bend, Oregon, and a local. I will start by saying I was not impressed. We had a reservation and they took us in a few minutes early and sat us upstairs. We sat near the window that overlooks the harbor and could see it from our table. Very pretty. There is a bar area and other tables that are away from the window that don't have the same view. When we were approached by the waitress, she informed us that they were out of Dungeness crab. Our reservation was at 6:15 PM. Seems a bit odd that a town known for Dungeness crab and the restaurant doesn't have it during peak dinner hours. My husband ordered a cup of clam chowder, and I ordered a cup of the Dungeness crab soup. I loved the creaminess of my soup. However, it was not served hot. Also, there were so many shells in my soup that every bite I had to remove one from my mouth. I do believe that the roux sauce had too much flour and was not mixed well. The clam chowder was not creamy, but had a good flavor. Chunks of carrot and celery. Both soups were served with a portion of bread. The bread was good. We shared the salmon dish. We asked our waitress if we could have the peas on the side as my husband has an allergy to peas. She was quick to tell me that there would be no substitutions. I informed her I was merely asking for the peas to put on a separate dish when brought to the table. She said that she would need to clear it with the kitchen first. Apparently, they approved, as the peas were served on the side. We did enjoy the salmon. It is cooked, medium rare. However, the middle of the salmon fillet was more rare. The buttery sauce was delicious and the asparagus was cooked very well. The mushrooms were delicious. The restaurant is very casual. The outside is not much to look at. The service was fine, but not exceptional. The food was good, but my expectations were so much higher for all of the accolades I had heard prior to dining. They add an automatic tip of 20% to every tab. Then on the bill, they politely ask for an additional gratuity. See the picture of the reason for their 20% gratuity on each bill in the photos that I have attached. I would give this restaurant four stars. It is a B rating for what should be an A restaurant.

Service was great and we were lucky enough to sit by the window overlooking the sea lions, the water, and the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Food wise, it was mostly 5 star. I'll start with the thing that wasn't, and that was the deviled eggs (you get 3) with a lightly fried shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked, lukewarm, and didn't really add anything. But other than that, everything else was really good. The highlight was the Umpqua oysters on the half shell. We went through a dozen and a half. The oysters are sweeter, no briny. They're not huge but not tiny either like Kusshi oysters. It came with 3 different sauces. Another highlight was the whole dungenous crab...so fresh. Poke salad, garlic brussel sprouts, Yellowtail Hamachi, and Lingcod were also pretty good. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely return.

It looks perfect from outside: the place is old, the signs are hand painted, there is a lot of color, there are a bunch of picnic tables, and the parking lot is gravel. It was getting crowded. We needed food for four and we got jumbo prawns and chips, halibut and chips, clam chowder, some kind of roll that was shrimp & cheese, and some cooked Dungeness crab with cocktail sauce. We had about a 15 minute drive to the house & we called ahead to get the oven turned on so we could reheat the chips and water boiling. Otherwise, we got all the main dishes out and went to work on the deck. This is well prepared good food that is best eaten outside on big table covered with newspaper. Added cold beer, corn on the cob, lots of hot sauce, ketchup for the chips, and some cheese cake from a farmers market for desert. It was a perfect summer meal on a perfect summer day with the sound of waves breaking on the beach about 300 feet away. If you go to this part of the Oregon coast you should try South Beach Grocery.
