We'd intended to get lunch at another place but saw this food truck when coming out of the grocery store and decided to stop. There was only one person in line when we showed up around 12:30 pm. I wish they had not been out of the tri-tip! That sounded really good. Get there early if you want some. We each got Mac-n-Cheese with pulled pork and we shared a 24 oz lemonade. There are some pic-nic tables outside but only three with one around the corner. Partially shaded around noon. LIkely not that shaded after 2pm or so in the summer. When the order was called I saw the small packaging that would hold a cheeseburger. I thought there'd be more. However, when she handed them over I was surprised at the weight. It was very dense and more than enough food! The pulled pork was awesome and had a good sauce on it. The mac-n-cheese was good and very cheesy. If anything, it needed more flavor? Like more salt or something? It was a little bland. Not that bland, don't get me wrong. Just need more...something. Perhaps a stronger cheese. Either way, we'll be back! read more

This is a food truck located in Yachats on 2nd street. Hours may vary, but is open Thursday- Sunday now (January). There was no seating available, but there are nearby parks, or we just took ours back to the hotel and had ocean view dining in our hotel room! The owner, Steve, is friendly and works hard to keep up with the orders. He was out of 2 of his sides, the coleslaw and mac and cheese. I'm sure it's hard to predict how much of everything to make, especially in the winter months. He offered to make them if I wanted to return later, but I just ended up ordering the ribs without the "meal" sides. I'm very picky about my ribs, as I smoke them myself. I like them at the falling-off-the-bone stage. These ribs were not cooked to that level, and tasted just a bit dry. The bbq sauce he used is good, so that helped make up for some of the dryness. I know other people prefer the meat to be less fall apart, so it might be just right for those folks. It's just a personal preference. My wife is vegan/vegetarian. So she went around the corner to Luna Sea and got a wonderful black bean burrito and an awesome looking salad. I would definitely give Big Dog a try if you're a BBQ fan. This place is unbelievable. I love bbq and I always get excited to see new places. The coast does not have many options and this is definitely a diamond in the rough. The operators are very kind and get to know you! They care about their customers. Whether it's rain cats and "dogs" or a beautiful day on the coast I reccomend this place. The menu does not stay stagnant as they are creative and will even do seasonal dishes! I was able to go around cinco de mayo and they had a bbq quesadilla and burrito I was able to try both and they were out of this world! If you're in the area please stop but don't be too late as they do sell out and give generous portions! The pricing is reasonable as well. A great bbq food truck. OMG, this place is amazing. Tried the ribs last night. THE best ribs I've had. Ever. Perfectly tender and fall off the bone, with nice caramelization, and sweet & tangy sauce. Sides were equally as great. I hear the burgers are amazing & huge. Enjoying the chili, leftover from last night. This is, by far, the best food in Yachats, and I've eaten everywhere here.
