Oregon Eye Consultants - Get your eyes checked regularly! - Laser Eye Surgery/Lasik Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

Superb doctors always, Puckett and Beardsley and staff. Everyone was professional and helpful, except for the young man who scheduled the follow up. He was snippy from the outset. I said an early morning appointment would be preferable. He took that as me demanding the doctor work around my schedule rather than the other way around. He lectured me in a loud, condescending tone. I am grateful for the care, but if this wasn't just a bad day for the staff member he needs more training. Turns out there were two early morning slots if he had just looked. Office is always busy and you have to understand the nature of this kind of care. There are always emergencies which need immediate scheduling. Treating issues like retinal detachments, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy take time. They are moving as fast as they can without compromising excellent care. Sometimes appointments go quickly and other times they have unanticipated emergencies which can mean a long wait. I imagine it's the same for all ophthalmologist offices which offer the same level of care. Have patience. We are lucky to have this practice in Eugene. read more

Don't let the cavalier and good natured persona of Dr. Beardsley fool you. He is a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He can turn on a dime and get angry and start yelling. I called him out on his inconsistencies he had said to me previously and he completely lost control, yelled at me and walked out of the exam room and then charged for a long visit that took less than 5 minutes with no exam or medical treatment. I had a previous retina detachment that wasn't completely sealed and had formed a bubble. Dr. Beardsley said that we'll watch it and if it needs to be repaired, I'll be able to have the same laser procedure that I had before to repair it, but it wasn't a condition where I would go blind. We watched it and it got a little bigger and he said I had to have a surgery in a surgical center with anesthesia. When I questioned him about what he had said before, he immediately got angry and said I was going to go blind if I didn't have the surgery. I fully intended on having the problem fixed, but I didn't want an invasive surgery that before he said I wouldn't need and wanted to know why it couldn't be repaired the way he originally said. He refused to answer my questions and then angrily yelled at me and walked out of the exam room. I have had a number of retina detachments and with the first one I saw Dr. Beardsley. He said I had to immediately have surgery in a hospital. (At that time he operated in a hospital instead of a surgical center.) I was from out of town and simply couldn't do it immediately for a number of reasons and he argued with me that I had to or go blind. I said I just couldn't do it right then the next day. Only then did he say that he could put a bubble in my eye and the retina repaired a week later in the office with a laser procedure. I then was able to have the procedure done in my home town by another doctor without having to travel and having an invasive surgery that is much more likely to have complications, especially with other eye surgery I've had. When I mentioned this interaction, he yelled, "I never put a bubble in your eye." Well, he did but didn't remember and insisted he hadn't. If he looks back at his records, he will see he was dead wrong. I subsequently saw another retina specialist that repaired the retina in office with the laser procedure that I had had before in office without invasive surgery, anesthesia or having to travel 260 miles round trip to a surgical center. I suspect Dr. Beardsley missed out on a big pay day by not being able to perform that surgery that he insisted on and maybe that is why he got so angry. He also missed out on the first time I saw him. read more

Dr. Beardsley is a good doctor - but the practice needs to be better in scheduling appointments - having to wait two hours for a 20 minute appointment is ridiculous!!! They seem to be rather archaic in their scheduling read more

What a great experience at Oregon Eye Consultants in Eugene. I was in and out of there within 45 mins. Everyone was SUPER nice and professional. The gal I saw first who did all the testing was fast and experienced and really great. Dr. Aryah was also very professional and pleasant. I am one who gets nervous before any medical appts. I'm happy to say they eased my mind about everything. Thank you!!! I'm so grateful I found you!! Cristie/ Florence OR read more

Dr Pucket and his staff were very nice. They were very thorough with all the necessary testing and examinations needed to get to my diagnoses. Dr. Pucket was very kind, compassionate, and professional. He took the time with me to help me understand the issues I was having with my eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Pucket and his office. read more

YELP Review I have problem with eye inflammation. Dr. Beardsly was training for eye deseases at OHSU. I met him there while he was finishing training with top specialist, Dr. Rosenbaum. Later I was finally able to find outside care for my situation, however, Portland or California was the only places I could find treatment. Dr. Beardsly had setup his office in Eugene and has extended offices and his services to satellites offices nearer to Grants Pass. I feel like I get just what I need. The service is good and yet the office is busy. I needed additional special care for one thing and they were helpful getting me to where I needed to go for treatment. read more

Do not go here! The wait times are insane, usually between one and two hours only to be seen by the rudest doctors and staff I've ever experienced in my life. The level of disrespect by every single person that works here is truly insane and sad. read more

We drove over an hour to this office only to be treated very rudely by Dr Aryah's assistant. She and the Dr were very curt, especially once they realized that our insurance was OHP. I would not ever recommend this clinic. read more

Dr. Beardsley got me out of a jam caused by my previous eye doctor (AKA Dr. No.1) who had done some cataract surgery on me. For some inexplcable reason Doctor No.1 left pieces of the old lens in my eye after changing out the old lenses for new ones. My eye got severely inflamed. Doctor No.1 thought I had an infection and immediately sent me to Oregon Eye Consultants and Dr. Beardsley for treatment. He immediately found chunks of the old lens in my eye and scheduled another procedure to clean out the junk left behind by Dr. No.1. Everything went very well, I recovered my eyesight and am now in good shape. So, honestly, I am grateful for a doctor who knew what he was doing--or at least paid attention to what he was doing. I'm writing this to give a shoutout for a doctor who does great work and has a great "bedside manner" in terms of interfacing with patients. And I've never had any scheduling or money problems with the front office either. read more

Dr Beardsley has good bedside manners and makes you feel it ease. The only negative thing is that they try to shove as many people through as possible. Leaving you waiting for hours to be seen but once you were seen things run very smoothly. read more

I had an appointment scheduled at 10:00am with Dr. Aryah today, July 3. I received a confirmation voice mail on June 30, a reminder text on June 26, and another reminder text on July 2. When I showed up for my appointment this morning, the receptionist told me that Dr. Aryah wasn't in today and that they "couldn't get ahold of me." Obviously, that is far from true. When I looked up the voice mail and started to tell her what it said, she had turned away and had started to talk to someone on the phone. Wow, how rude can you get?! An apology was in order. I'm angry about the way I was treated and angry that my time was wasted. This is NO way to treat patients. read more

Had retina surgery by Dr Beardsley in Eugene. Follow-ups in Newport closer to home. All going well. I find he and his staff are EXCELLENT!

We were happy with the service. All the staff we encountered were friendly and patient. Oregon Eye Consultants are the only specialists that come to Roseburg once a month so we are very fortunate to have them. So, be prepared to wait a good while in the waiting room as they have many to see. But, we enjoyed the nature program on their T.V. to pass the time. read more

I like Dr Karth. He's gentle with good chairside manners. He explains everything thoroughly he's very patient , im keeping him.

I cannot say enough good things about this office, Dr. Beardsley and all the staff and technicians here. I went to Suite 4 for a retina consultation after being completely freaked out by my optometrist in LA by a retinal hole they discovered during my yearly eye exam. I was also mildly panicked based on some reviews for Oregon Eye Consultants, but I have to say, they were amazing, and I highly recommend them. Not only did Oregon Eye Consultants fit me in really fast for a consultation (the very next day), but everyone was incredibly nice, efficient, and helpful. Other reviewers have mentioned wait times or not being able to get them on the phone. I called three times over two days, and each time the phone was answered by someone super helpful and kind. When they did make the appointment, they warned me to be prepared for about an hour and a half total, and it was way faster than that (I was there including filling out my initial paperwork) for about 45 minutes. One of the technicians (I'm not sure what they're called in the eye world, but not the doctor and not the receptionist) told me to expect about an hour and a half for my surgery appointment because they're short staffed and explained the whole situation without me asking; as far as I can tell, they are incredibly honest and straightforward, which I appreciate. Dr. Beardsley was fantastic. He answered my laundry list of questions, and he put me at ease after I came in in panic mode. He also presented multiple options to handle my retina issues, which I appreciated, and thoroughly went over the pros and cons of them. The office, exam rooms, bathroom and waiting area are all super clean. It's an excellent location with great parking. I truly am pleased and am happy to have taken a chance and come here. I will gladly continue to be a patient here. I felt safe, thoroughly taken care of, and comfortable. read more

Can I give negative reviews? This office was horrible and a complete waste of time and money. Dr Puckett spent maybe 30 seconds with me and dismissed any concerns I had. The text were horrible and extremely impersonable. I left with several questions and feeling completely dismissed. We called the office after we got back to work to see about getting something accomplished from this waste of a visit. The tech said they were leaving a sample pair of contacts at the desk for me to sample but they weren't even close to what I actually needed. We thankfully were able to get into another office locally for same day visit. The doctor office told me that the prescription I was given was extremely inaccurate. I will be reporting this to my insurance company as well as the medical board for the state. Don't waste your time and money at this office. read more

I've been going to Oregon Eye Consultants for about 7 years. I had a tear in my retina and they got me in immediately and actually stayed open late so I could get laser surgery. I am so impressed with the level of service I receive from dr. Peter Karth and his staff. They are so friendly and professional.

I was treated by Dr. Hunter for having my floaters removed in both eyes. At first I felt like just a number because OEC treats soooo many patients. My opinion changed quickly. The staff is not only efficient, they are friendly, dedicated, and caring. Everyone took time to answer my questions as if they had all the time in the world for just me, including Dr Hunter. I never felt rushed or dismissed. I experienced complications in one eye and was given a same-day appointment. My post-surgery healed vision is superb. I highly recommend OEC and Dr Hunter. read more

I've seen a fair amount of doctors at my ripe age of 84 and I must say that Dr Kunz is far and away one of the most caring I have come across. He has done multiple surgeries on both eyes and I am so delighted with the result. Dr Kinz is a magnificent person and an outstanding doctor. (This comment is unsolicited.) read more

Outstanding first-visit experience from start to finish. ALL staff was polite, professional AND efficient! The office was nicely and comfortably furnished, and the temperature was great; many offices can be quite cold. Even though the office was VERY busy my wait was not too long. Everything was explained in advance in terms that I could understand. My questions were answered by the doctor in a similar manner. My next visit with the doctor will be in Florence. My hope is that the next visit will be similar to the visit in the Eugene office. read more
