I would not recommend this chiropractor to anyone. 1) Since transferring care to another clinic, I have requested my records and xrays from pure life be sent to my new clinic. My new doctor has requested my xrays and records separately. This was three weeks ago and the new clinic has not received my records. 2) I met with Jen Nyberg at my 1st visit and Paul Yang my 2nd visit. At neither of those visits did they take the time to ask me about why I was seeking chiropractic care or what my symptoms were. 3) They did a full spinal series of xrays 2 days in row. Both times my thyroid was completely uncovered and exposed to the radiation. 4) At my 2nd visit, Paul performed adjustments. Without preparing me, he did the spinal twist to crack my back. I informed him this was incredibly painful and he proceeded to twist and crack my back in the other direction. 5) At beginning of 2nd visit, Paul provided me with a treatment plan. Paul was very fixated on the "S" curve of my spine so I asked if that was the root of my low back pain, to which he responded "I don't know". My treatment felt overall very insincere. I also did not understand how they could create a treatment plan for me without 1) knowing the root of my pain and 2) never taking the time to talk with me. read more

I must preface this review by stating that I was 100% skeptical of chiropractors and everything they stand for and only came in because I was in so much lower back pain that I was desperate. Anyways, Pure Life Chiropractic was the only practice in the area (out of the 5+) I called that actually: A. Had a real-life human answer their phone (most offices I called just went straight to voicemail even in the middle of the day). B. Could fit me into the schedule in a reasonable amount of time and provide a later appointment (after 5), working around my work schedule. C. Had good Yelp reviews - always important! Dr. Matt spent a long time chatting with me, allaying my worries, and explaining what was likely wrong with me and how he could help me feel better. He was friendly and professional. I ended up having an adjustment and felt significantly better right away. I have returned several times for additional adjustments and am nearly back to normal! Do I think chiropractics is for everyone? No. But it certainly helped me out of a great deal of debilitating pain. I've been coming to pure life for about 2 years. I came in with neck and back pain that would debilitate me to the point where I couldn't get into or out of a car . When I first came in they gave me a thorough inspection that included an X ray which discovered the root of my issues stemming from my neck. It took a few adjustments and ups and downs pain wise to get aligned properly but now I live pain free. Dr Jenn and Dr Matt relieved pains in my spine that I didn't even know I had because I was living with them for so long. I come in once or twice a month to keep myself aligned and you wouldn't believe the amount of relief and endorphin release you get from a good ol'crackin' at pure life! I can genuinely and honestly say that Pure life has improved my life across the board. I can think clearer, sleep better, perform better both physically and mentally. I usually visit Dr. Jenn and she is a wealth of knowledge beyond spinal issues. Any ailment or problem I'm having she always knows a safe effective wholesome way to heal it and I truly cherish her as my doctor. She's my favorite doctor here but you can't go wrong with anyone on the staff, they're all extremely smart, and extremely compassionate people. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. read more

I have been going to Pure Life for over a year. Yes they are very friendly in a capitalistic sort of way. Even though my insurance would only pay for 35 visits this year Dr.Mitch recommended I come in twice a week. At the beginning of the year I received letters from Pacificsource denying any treatments. As soon as I got to the Pure Life office they claimed it to be false, yet immediately had me sign a paper of responsibility. I do think Dr. Alexa is a wonderful chiropractor and enjoyed my visits with her. In California and Colorado Massage therapist must be certified by the state, go to school for two years and have 1,000 hours of practice. However Dr.Mitch set me up with his friend Sid who went so far to call himself a healer. My first visit with Sid was most successful, which built my confidence. He continually contradicted himself about previous experience and his training. When I recently inquired if he was a licensed therapist he tried to convince me that licensing was just a stupid regulations, and said he knew more than them. He said that he works under the chiropractor's license. I have serious rotator cuff injuries and need hip replacement. However after continued visits and asking him how many muscles were in the body, his reply was 107; there are 600 muscles and 206 bones. He claimed to have studied massage at Lane community College. Lane has nursing and EMT programs but no massage classes. He had also previously claimed to have gone to the UO, which he did not. Sid continually caused me needless pain and kept telling me he knew what he was doing and claimed to be realigning my body, as he continued to hurt me.y He apparently has never even studied the human body and has no knowledge of the bones and muscles one must study to become a licensed massage therapist. read more

Be very careful when visiting this office. While they are extremely nice and helpful, not all of their providers are contracted with insurance companies. Though they are one clinic, each doctor has to be contracted individually with an insurance company or the patient gets stuck with a fairly sizable bill. I went there expecting to only pay my $35 dollar co-pay, I ended up with a bill for $268 for this reason. The clinic could not discount or forgive the bill as doing so would constitute insurance fraud. I certainly would not have sought services there if I knew I would have had to pay that much. I can't afford that kind of bill. Additionally, I had to do all the footwork to figure out this error. They knew about it, but didn't inform me, the patient who was going to be stuck with the bill. I'm really disappointed in Pure Life as I had heard so many good things about them. I hope there aren't too many others who find themselves in this same position. If you are very careful about checking who you are being seen by and whether or not your insurance will cover that person, you should be okay. But don't assume they are being 100% accurate when they tell you they are a preferred provider. read more

This is the most terrible chiropractic I've ever gone, don't goooooo!!!! So this chiropractor is a full of lie, first they call them "doctor", just full of sales. Jenn Nyberg, and also the front desk convinced me to join the plan, and I ask the front desk about the payment they offer for few times, the answer that they gave to me was clear. After few weeks, they started to charge me more and more, I was confusing and I asked them about the payment issues that I had, this time, they changed everything they said. And they started to say the front desk is not work there no more, and they just gave me a whole different explanation about it. So don't go here, they are full of liar!!!! read more

I have never felt so well taken care of as I do here at Pure Life Chiropractic! I'm a mother of two and have neck and low back issues due to years of neglect and carrying two well fed children. Dr. Jen is great and diagnosed me right away. I've been seeing her and Bri for massage and feel like I'm starting to become the woman I hope to be (pain free,flexible, and strong). I absolutely love Pure Life Chiropractic, I am so excited that Dr. Jenn has taken over the practice. She was the chiropractor that got me back to playing volleyball at an even higher level than before after my car accident. She believed that it was possible and has since then made we want to become a chiropractor, she is simply amazing. Dr. Jeff is incredible as well, I constantly had pain in my feet from hard landings in volleyball and also my shoes and ankle braces, since he has adjusted my feet on a regular basis I have had no pain in my feet. I had some sudden sever neck pain and down my back that made even driving short distances nearly impossible. I don't know what caused it but it felt very scary as I have always been in good health. After a couple visits I began to feel much better. My pain may have been due to stress and bad posture and I appreciate the time that was taken to explain this to me. We don't realize how interconnected symptoms in our body are and chiropractic care seems to address many of them, my overall health and vitality has improved significantly by coming regularly. I love that I can get adjusted, deep massage and physical therapy in one place. The staff is overall very warm and personable. The massage therapists are especially wonderful, I've had each person on staff here work on my neck and they are all exceptional as well as just very sweet people. The only reason I can't give five stars is I have had a couple exceptions with one person on staff and I feel when you are working with people that closely, getting in their bubble physically, it's important to be extra sweet. Getting your spine adjusted is a bit of a vulnerable thing and it's difficult to relax the way you need to if you don't feel comfortable with the person. But there are several different chiropractors there so just ask for the one that you feel best with. I felt like I walked into an infomercial with branding and everything. Let me start by saying they are very friendly and nice (almost too nice, like salesmen kind of nice). I don't think they caused me harm out of ill intent but our of incompetence and negligence. I had been seeing the male Chiropractor ("Dr." Mitch maybe?) and he was gentle on my back, I had also notified them I had a previous surgery and I was experiencing symptoms that suggested I re-herniated my disc. He was using the air gun to make light adjustments and that was fine. Then I came in and received an adjustment from a female chiropractor (Not "Dr." Jen, I can't remember the name of the one who hurt me) who before I knew it had her hands on my back and made violent adjustments to my back. That evening my legs were starting to get sore and I woke up the next morning unable to walk due to the pain I was in. I had excruciating burning and pain associated with my sciatic nerve to the point it felt like someone had injected gasoline into my leg and lit me on fire. I suffered through the weekend until I could get to my primary care doctor who prescribe a round of prednizone to get the inflammation back down. I still suffer from burning in my leg and I have also developed numbness in my calf and foot. I called and told them what happened and that I wouldn't be coming back. Earlier this week I received a phone call from Purelife that my authorization was still good and that I should come back. Really?! I believe that Purelife is in it for the money and is taking advantage of disabled veterans and the VA. I have never been to a Chiropractor before and I have to admit I was nervous and scared to go in. I had no idea what to expect and thought, in the pain I was in no one was going to make it better in an instance. I have been to the urgent care, I have been prescribed muscle relaxants and pain pills and to no avail I was not getting better, until I walked into Pure Life Chiropractic, which was the best decision I have ever made. First of all the ladies running the desk, Victoria and Melissa are so sweet and instantly made me feel like I made the right decision. They were nice and thoughtful, greeting me promptly and immediately treating me like family. Dr. Matt has such a caring way about him and made me feel safe and relaxed. He listened to all of my woes and ailments and carefully and methodically came up with a game plan to get me healthy and moving again.He showed and described in detail what was wrong and how we were going to fix it. When I went into Pure life I was clearly crooked and I was in so much pain from a pinched Sciatic nerve, here's the kicker, I am only 25! After the first adjustment the nonstop pain all the way through my leg deceased, I have flexibility and mobility that I haven't felt in a long time. I felt empowered and free and appreciative of life again. All of this happened in the hands of Dr. Matt, I never felt unheard, or confused, everything was out before me, and after every pop I felt instant relief, and not pain or fear! I fell in love with Chiropractic from the moment I walked into Dr. Matt's office. I went in the day after I was in a bad car accident; a Suburban T-boned me on the driver's side of my Bug! I didn't know what to do because if I went to the ER they'd just give me pain meds and send me on my way. I wanted the pain to go away, not just be covered up by medication that causes so many side effects. Chiropractic care was suggested to me and I thought, "What is that?" Dr. Matt eased my curious mind by telling me how chiropractic works with what to expect, took an intake, and gave me my first ever adjustment! It was incredible! I am angry, yes, but I am only posting this with the intent of preventing a vulnerable, sick person from being manipulated by these awful people. I have never felt so manipulated by people who were supposedly trying to "help" me. The whole experience was despicable, and other chiropractors I know, when I told them about the situation over there, have been horrified and embarrassed that these people are representing the chiropractic profession in this way. Here is what I mean by manipulative, and I mean cult-level manipulative: At the first consultation, they tell you that you "may or may not" need X-rays, depending on their evaluation. Their brochure, however, says, "after you get your X-rays...." so getting X-rays is clearly something they require of every patient.So, Surprise! I "needed" X-rays, and they referred me to a private company to do them. They cost $250. (Kick-backs, much?) So there is the first lie-- "You may or may not need X-rays," when they obviously require X-rays of ALL patients. At the "new patient workshop" they all but make you go to, they use every tactic in the book: 1) scare you with possible horrible deaths you might have, 2) tell you that chiropractic care is the ONLY answer (they literally said it could prevent cancer AND divorce), and then 3) send you directly into a meeting with a "financial planner." They designed it so that you would be in the most vulnerable state possible when they asked for your money. The other LIE: the "financial planner" presented me with a $7,500 cost for 6 months of care, BEFORE telling me, "But, we're going to give YOU the PLATINUM plan!!!" And the "platinum plan" was 5,000 DOLLARS LESS! Do they think I'm such an idiot that I'm going to be flattered by the "doctor" "personally recommending" that *I* get the "platinum plan?" They pretended that the POSSIBLE cost could be $7,500, which was just another blatant lie. The cost was always going to be $2,500, and the fake $7,500 cost was just to make me feel better about spending the couple thousand dollars they wanted me to spend. This is USED CAR SALESMAN bullshit. The chiropractor I'm seeing now is charging about the same amount for 6 months of treatment-- $2,500--, so for me it's not about the money. It's about the practiced, blatant, and unapologetic manipulation that Pure Life uses. I am only naming a few of the times I felt like I was being manipulated and treated like an idiot. Another one was when I called to say I was not continuing with my treatment there, and the Dr. Matt said: "So, your health isn't a priority for you right now?" I said "No," and hung up the phone.
