I've been coming here on and off for a few years and have had wonderful experiences here lately. I agree that a few years ago the front desk staff wasn't always the friendliest, but the last few visits I've had have been professional and warm. Dr. Herb is super knowledgeable and takes the time to show genuine concern for not just your injury but you as a person, and he has always been willing to take the time to answer questions. It's always refreshing to have health care providers take the time to make you feel informed and comfortable, and in my experience Dr. Herb has always done that. I've been in for spinal adjustments, tissue work and physical therapy and would recommend all of these services. If you had a poor experience here in the past, I'd encourage you to go back in. Every business has hiccups when they are first starting and I really feel that this business has made great improvements (not that my previous customer-service experiences were ever horrible, they are just more notably warm now). I had my first acupuncture appointment last week (Tues October 20th 2020) as I walked it I felt welcomed and greeted by the receptionist she was wonderful ! When my appointment time arrived I was taken care of by amber she did an outstanding job asking me questions about what back/leg pains I was dealing with ( I've had acupuncture done before a few years ago ) so I was completely relaxed and it was a beautiful time I would highly recommend absolute wellness at Oakway center for your physical therapy needs it's a caring environment A plus ! read more

I have gotten 3-4 treatments from Dr.Herb for various issues, and all have been very effective. The doctor is very thorough and very skilled. The follow up massage from Kelly Simons really helped as well. I intended to return for more treatments and massage, but since I felt so good, I haven't been back! The office staff is friendly and helpful. On my first visits, they scheduled me for a same day appointment, while other chiropractors made me wait, or required a meet and greet before treatment. They handled all the insurance billing without any problem. I recommend Dr. Herb without hesitation. read more

I had suffered a series of sports related injuries that were causing me a great deal of pain and were reducing my strength and range of motion. I was concerned that I was going to have to give up Jiu Jitsu, a sport that I was obsessed with, and potentially spend a fortune on treatment. I tried a chiropractic clinic next to my office and they gave me a quick adjustment and sent me on my way. Although the adjustment felt great for a couple hours, the approach didn't seem like anything that would lead to recovery. I was seriously messed up. Then I found Absolute Wellness Center. Not only was Dr. Michael Herb able to determine exactly what was wrong with me, he was also personally familiar with the sport in which I had been injured. The severity of my injuries required that I get massage therapy and physical therapy. Not just back popping, magic crystals, woo woo and incense. This was real stuff. For about a month the highlight of my week was the massage therapy by Kelly. She did a great job of walking that thin line between painful and productive. The atmosphere was perfect and I felt amazing after every session. I felt sorry for people who weren't injured like I was. Gradually my treatment changed to a focus on physical therapy. As someone who has been studying fitness and weightlifting for over twenty years, I felt like I was in good hands with Amanda and Victoria. They knew what they were doing and got me on a program that produced results. Everyone I met with at Absolute Wellness Center was someone that I would want to hang out with. On top of that, I am fully recovered and have a more resilient body than I had prior to my injury. I'm so glad I ended up being treated by Dr.Herb and his staff. I injured my back and went for PT treatment at 2 other practices. Both practices and my PCP misdiagnosed me with a "bulging disc" after they read the MRI report. A little over a month after my injury and still no for sure game plan on fixing my back. I was referred to the Absolute Wellness Center, where Dr. Herb was the first to actually look at the images and see that the "bulging disc" was actually a badly herniated disc. It was drooping down the side of my spine slowly killing a nerve in my leg. How did the other doctors miss that!! Dr. Herb did his homework reviewing the MRI report and images before I showed up. So he could give me concrete answers and options for surgery and treatment. I could tell he took pride in his profession. He also has the best bed side manner I've ever scene in a doctor, always ending the conversation with "are there any other questions that you had?" Giving you the opportunity to mention anything that you might have forgot. After a successful surgery I followed up with Dr. Herb for physical therapy. He handed me off to Jeff one of the physical therapist there. Jeff was also great! He was always in a good mood and knew a lot about backs and how they work. He taught me how to use proper mechanics when bending and lifting. And he knew little tricks to train me when I was having a hard time doing an exercise right. Jeff and Dr. Herb both played a part in my road to recovery. I can't thank them enough. read more

I went there for back issues. Dr Herb told me that with chiropractic care and PT he could fix my back. 3 months later I was still going without my pain going away. He kept telling me NOT to be discouraged, just a few more weeks. Finally after an incident at work where I messed up my back more I stopped going. My main issue though is he told me I had to do PT for my back to get better. Being on a strict budget I asked how much it would be, she said "insurance would pay 80%" so I would only have to pay 20%. When I got my bill it was over $500. I asked what was going on, they told me "oh, well they pay 80% AFTER you pay your deductible" would have been nice information to have don't you think?! Now I have a huge bill with nothing to show for it. I called and tried to work it out but they don't care, all they care about is getting their money. I would discourage anyone from going here. The lady I talked to today was rude and inconsiderate, had they been willing to work with me or cut the bill down to a decent amount I would have paid it without the need to write a review. read more

I'm so happy I found this place! Dr. Herb is a wonderful chiropractor who believes in treating your symptoms and then giving you the tools and support to treat yourself on your own. Having been to several chiropractors in town who do not share this view, I can tell you that Dr. Herb is definitely unique in this way. Dr Herb is very knowledgeable and friendly. His staff is wonderful and they create a warm and comfortable environment. I've genuinely enjoyed my visits to the AWC the past few weeks. What's particularly unique about Absolute Wellness Center is the number of services that are offered. Chiropractic care, physical therapy (with a great little gym area), acupuncture, message therapy, and wellness coaching, all in one place make it an excellent resource for all aspects of rehabilitation or relaxation. read more

The massage therapist was excellent. Otherwise, my experience with Absolute Wellness was subpar. After a couple of massages, which I payed copays for, they needed prior authorization for additional visits. I waited about 3 weeks to hear from them regarding prior authorization. When I heard nothing, I called and asked if they heard from the insurance company yet. They were not able to provide any information about it and promised to call back. Still no call after over one week, so I was one month into the wait by this time. I called again and found that they received authorization for two more massages. I went back for a massage and asked a few billing questions. I received vague answers and it was clear that staff were not knowledgeable about the matter. I payed a copay the day of the massage and two months later I received a bill for $105.70. They only charge $80 for a massage if you private pay, so I was shocked to be billed for this amount after a contractual adjustment of $75.90. I will not be returning to Absolute Wellness after this scam! read more

My partner and I have been to this practice a dozen times over the last year. The last two visits decided for me to never return. With out getting into all the details, here are my pros and cons. PROS: Location Knowledgeable Staff Offers massage and acupuncture for insurance billing Parking CONS: Inconsistent care- started off awesome, then felt like I was a bother. Their dog is cute and all, I have a dog, I just don't feel like being licked to death while I am waiting at a DOCTOR'S OFFICE. Not terribly friendly. Dr. Herb and his wife Whitney seem on the surface nice, but, have been rude, the other girls don't really greet us or seem happy. Whitney never seems like she is doing anything, but messing with the dog, chatting with customer or bothering the girls working there. Unorganized: especially with billing/ insurance, also the girls should know the schedule for the day. Hands off Dr.- Ive been twice when Dr. Herb never even put his hands on me to do and adjustment after explaining pain to him...then I get billed for an adjustment. Don't follow-up: tells me his staff will call for scheduling or check up or even that he will do and adjustment after the massage and he doesn't check back with me. Snobby staff- I was bluntly asked if I came "just to get my free massage".- (my insurance covers it, so Iam going to use it, don't judge me!!!) Left sitting for over an hour waiting with no concern or care while I am less than 5 feet from their chatter. Massage is hit or miss, I like Andrew, Ive had at least 4 massages where the therapist tells me that they are "filling in" and have never worked here before. Some of them were better than others. Found the inconsistent staff unsettling I am not too crazy that you have to walk outside and upstairs for the massage, not the worst thing ever. We left mad the last two visits and were never contacted by the staff to correct the problem after we made our concerns known in person. Sure seems like they either don't need or want us as customers. It looks like a lot of reviews for this practice have been hidden or disabled so I am sure they will remove mine as well. I just had my first appointment with Dr Herb yesterday. I have to say I am impressed. I have had problems with my left arm, like a stabbing, debilitating pain but no heart problems to speak of at all. It radiates up into my neck and shoulders and leaves tingling in my hands. I have seen 2 primary care physicians and another chiropractor regarding this issue and they all had no clue what was going on and unable to diagnose me since 2013. I was referred by my insurance and I'm glad they did because Dr Herb was able to diagnose me by doing some simple tests on my limbs (which no one ever did before) and explained my condition and treatment in terms I could understand. The assistant who took care of me was also friendly as were all of the office staff. I will be going back for physical therapy and looking forward to it :) read more

AMAZING!! I've been putting off seeing the chiropractor because the thought of someone messing with my back terrifies me. Finally, the pain was worse than my fear. Dr. Herb was great- he did one adjustment and relieved a ton of pain & stiffness. He explained everything he was doing and put my fears at ease. Went for a one hour massage. Masseuse was skilled and did a good job, but I was expecting an hour on the table, and all I got was about 51 or 52 minutes. I think you need to be clear with this center whether or not you can expect a whole hour on the table or whether they start the clock as soon as they call your name in the waiting room. 51 minutes is not enough time for people like me to get really relaxed, so I left without feeling very much better. It didn't help that their office check-in staff seemed cold and indifferent--showed no warmth or welcoming attitude at all. Be clear with his center's time policies or save your money. read more

I went to this office because they were a preferred provider with my insurance. I had received manual therapies for a $10 copay at my previous chiropractor, but they were no longer in the preferred provider network. When I called to check Absolute Wellness out, I was told that the copays would be $5 per session. I told them that that information was different than the benefits that I had received previously. Whitney assured me her information was correct. When I went to my first appointment, I asked again about the cost. Again I was assured that the copays would be $5 per session. I paid the $5 copay for four sessions. Then I received a bill for $245. When I called to ask what had happened, Whitney blamed the insurance company. When I called the insurance company, I was told that they had not billed the service appropriately. When I called Absolute Wellness again. Whitney said that they were participating in a class action lawsuit against the insurance company. I received the bill for $245 again. When I called Absolute Wellness again, Whitney insisted that they bore no responsibility for giving me incorrect information about what my insurance would pay. She insisted that there were disclaimers on their website and in their office that eliminated their liability. I would not recommend this office to anyone. The clients should not be left holding the bag. I also agree with the other reviewer. It is disgusting to have your ankles licked by an unrestricted dog in a professional office. read more

Dr. Herb has taken such good care of me recently. I really appreciate that this clinic has so many services under one roof, and everyone that I have interacted with has been so helpful, and you can just tell they genuinely care. Dr. Herb is really good - he spent so much time with me on my first appointment, explained everything, and I really appreciated that I could ask as many questions as I wanted without feeling like I was being a both. Later appointments were quick and easy, and I only went a couple times before I was good to go, and they joked they were kicking me out until I hurt myself again. I liked that the focus was on getting me out of there (in a supportive way) instead of that job about chiropractors wanting you to get a punch card for life. They weren't like that at all. read more
