I've been to a couple acupuncturist out at the coast over the last 4 years. Just moved to Eugene and an old injury in my left foot started acting up. I have nerve damage in three of my toes from my foot being run over by a car so the nerves began acting up again making it hard to walk properly. I called on Friday for an appt. as soon as possible. Tiffany, the recpt., was so nice, she gave me an appt the next morning w/ Marco. I showed up just before 9 a.m. and filled out paperwork and Marco sat w/ me to review my medical history and asked about my foot injury. He was very professional w/ me and instructed me on how the process of the open room w/ multiple chairs works. He said I should walk into the room and select a chair and recline in it and he would be right in. He then asked if I needed to watch the time and if not I could stay as long as I wanted. Marco came in and began putting needles in and then asked me if I wanted a blanket and I responded yes. He brought one over and draped it over me and told me to signal to him when I felt ready to end the session. I must have been in the chair over an hour I was so relaxed. Marco was wonderful and when I got up to leave my left foot felt REMARKABLY better. No stabbing pain when I walked. Day two and my foot feels much better. I'll be going back for more treatments...I really appreciate the sliding scale fee so I can afford to be treated twice a week for the next 3 weeks until I feel 100 percent better again. read more

Acupuncture for the people is a traditional Chinese medicine philosophy practice it's community as it's supposed to be it's affordable as it is supposed to be and the acupuncturists specialist are very knowledgeable. It could be less noise if people that go are more mindful and respectful of others needs. Overall I love them. read more

After struggling to find long term relief for my chronic back and shoulder pain, I am so grateful to these folks for getting me in so quickly. The scheduler, Stephanie is her name I believe, was so friendly and welcoming during the initial phone call and just as friendly upon walking into the establishment. This is a fairly busy clinic with room for 6 patients at a time, and that's during Covid--more than I've seen at other clinics, which tend to have a 1 practitioner to 3 client ratio. At one point I was left with the needles beyond the time I requested because the practitioner was busy with a new patient consult, which was not a relaxing or positive experience. Another practitioner was rude to me because I wanted the needles removed before it was convenient for him. I found his behavior unethical and harmful. If you are attuned to your body, you may want to come here for something very specific, but don't expect a lot of individual attention. read more

You will be answering all of your questions in the open lobby, five feet from the receptionist, and anyone else who may be in the room. No thank you. When asked if we could have a private space to talk, I received push-back several times. Listen up, if you want to be taken seriously as medical professionals, you should start acting like it. Start with a patient privacy policy, and work from there. As it stands, YOU SUCK! Follow up to response below: I understand all of that. I knew that going in. I'm speaking specifically of the initial consultation where a great deal of sensitive information is exchanged. Much, much more detailed medical and private information than would be exchanged during a normal session. What you're doing is highly insensitive, let alone unprofessional. I did go elsewhere. Somewhere very medically professional that upholds general standards of patient privacy. I paid more for it, but I suppose that's what you must do to get EXCELLENT treatment. read more

This place is AMAZING. My baby flipped and was elbow first and transverse at 35 weeks and two days. I went in for an acupuncture treatment to try to get him to flip and he DID. During the actual treatment. In addition to him flipping, I had a few other issues (my jaw and my hips hurt) the Doctor attended to and I walked out completely pain free. Rainey is wonderful. I was staying with friends in Eugene and my back had gone out. I was in excruciating pain. After seeing a local chiropractor, I still was extremely distressed. We had gone to dinner at a friends house and she recommended Rainey. When I went to see Rainey, she was so warm and comforting. She walked me through all of the points where I was hurting and helped tremendously. Being that I was only in OR for a week, she was more than accomodating finding time in her schedule to help me. Learned of Acupuncture for the People from a friend who uses them. I am very pleased with the concept, the handling, the appointment process (I love being able to schedule myself online!), the sliding scale, and the results. I haven't finished by any means, but both Rob (whom I see regularly), and Lindsay (who was the available person when I got the email offering me a free birthday visit early this month) were fine to work with and enabling of me staying relaxed. I had restorative acupuncture after a stroke ten years ago, and feel certain it helped my recovery, but I'm now on Medicare and a fixed income, so their flexibility and easy pay system works great for me. More to the point, I was suffering nerve-related pain in one foot that was "jabbing" me to the point getting unthinking yelps out of me, and causing me to avoid walking. After only four visits, I haven't noticed the toes bothering me in days; atop that, I was able to run a few paces catching my dog just today! Wonderful people who make it a wonderful place. I was a few minutes late for my appointment today. I apologized profusely. I was a new customer, coming from out of town and misjudged how long it would take me. The very nice receptionist let me know that it was too late and I would need to reschedule. This was fine. But the acupuncturist was sitting in the lobby too, scrolling on her phone. Without looking up she said, "nope, it's a really full day today." And then later as I was talking to the receptionist and rescheduling, I asked if I could take the intake paperwork with me and fill it out so I could bring it back when I came back. She said "that's a good idea!" without looking up from her phone. I worked retail for years, so I have a lot of sympathy for everyone in the service industry. But that made me feel incredibly disrespected. In health care, I totally get, you can't be too attached to every patient and take their concerns home with you. But if you can't be compassionate, you can be kind. And if you can't be kind (why not?) than you can be courteous. Eye contact is courteous. I think we all had a lucky miss today -- apparently she has no interest in me as a patient or a customer. I don't think I want an acupuncturist who's more interested in her smart phone than in a patient. read more

When a friend referred me to a community clinic, i had never had accupuncture before so i was a bit leery to say the least. I have no cartilage in hip which gives me considerable hip and knee pain -- after 6 sessions (2 in 1 week, 1 each week thereafter) pain had subsided considerably. Sessions were peaceful and painless. All from Rob Singer who was concerned, kind, meticulous each time. I'd recommend this business to anyone who needs acupuncture -- and best of all, it's affordable. I had heel pain, and was treated by Whitsitt Goodson for this condition. That evening after showering I found a acupuncture needle still remaining in my leg.. The next day I emailed, 'Acupuncture for the people', to cancel my appointment with Whitsitt, my reasoning being, this has never happened to me before, and why risk a repeat treatment. Mr. Goodson called me a few minutes after I sent the email, to say, we ask people to check for needles before leaving.I explained to him that I was not told to check, and in their consent form that I signed,it never mentioned, checking for needles before leaving. After talking with Mr. Goodson on the phone, I felt I was to blame for not feeling for/looking for needles left behind. I suggested to Whitsitt, that maybe counting the needles before and after treatment, but any suggestions I gave seemed to fall on deft ears. So if you get treatment with Whitsitt Goodson, I would offer a tip. Count, feel, and look for any needles left behind after treatment. read more

I only have good things to say about Acupuncture for the People and am constantly recommending them to anyone I can. I choose mostly to see Rob because he has been so attentive and caring towards my needs but the other therapists are awesome too. I started going there a year ago with a laundry list of issues like anxiety, insomnia, back and shoulder pain, headaches, vertigo and some GI issues and most of those things are resolved. These are things were greatly affecting my quality of life, especially the insomnia. They suggested some diet changes like limiting caffeine which has also made a world if difference. I was very nervous to begin with and wasn't sure what to think after my first visit caused me to be hyper stimulated. I explained this to Rob who explained a possibility as to why and changes the protocol and ever is it since then has gotten better each visit. The best part if that they don't rush you our the door or put a time limit which is something that usually amps my anxiety elsewhere. They place the needles and you fade into this existential heavenly "sleep" and wake up feeling so refreshed.. It took about three visits for noticeable improvement and six visits for things to really start going away. I just go in for flare up and new issues now like a recently separated shoulder and is always a pleasure. I have worked in healthcare for ten years and been in pain for about that long and these people are miracle workers in my opinion. Best of all they are the most affordable I have ever seen anywhere. I moved to Bend and I come to Eugene specifically to see them. Give it a try, it could be your saving grace!!!!! read more
