About 4 hours earlier in the day, I called and put our name on the list because it was Saturday and we had a large party. I received a text confirmation with a link to check my place in line. When we arrived at 6:20, I checked in with the hostess. She said we weren't on the list. I showed her my text message, and I asked her to double and triple check. I asked her to talk to the manager and see if they could put us toward the top since I called and had proof that, at some point, they had added us to the list. Nope. They wouldn't do a damn thing except add us to the bottom of the list and we ended up waiting 90 minutes. They never apologized for their mistake and never did anything to right the situation. They acted like they didn't give a shit. On the bright side, our server, Emmy, was fantastic and our food was good. read more

Our waiter Gevaun was great he was nice and the food was awesome! At the end we had a pizza cookie and that was the best part of the meal!

The food is absolutely awesome & amazing here, but you'll most likely have to wait, sometimes up to an hour before getting seated, due to it's popularity. It's also a very noisy place, so you might want to even bring earplugs, I did. The night we went, there were lots of obnoxious, loud children, & the parents don't seem to quiet them down. You might want to just consider getting the food to go if you're not willing to wait, or deal with how loud this place can get! I would give it 5 stars, but knocked off a star due to how loud it was! :( read more

We checked in for the waitlist on yelp which I thought was super amazing because we walked right in and were sat right away!! This is not my first time at Oregano's but it was my first experience at this one and to start off we waited a long time for our server to even come ask what we wanted to drink almost 30 minutes I'd say and then we also ordered appetizers at that time. I'd say it took about 20 minutes to get everything drinks and apps to us. My water had a very old looking lemon in it i removed it from the water. The appetizers were not good to me the bread tasted extremely frozen, for a party of four we got garlic bread and boom dip which comes with bread on the side. When they came with our appetizers we also ordered our entrees we got pizza, stuffed rigatoni, and ziti and chicken Parmesan. This took a very long time to get to our table on top of that I had ordered a cocktail and the waiter had asked me if I wanted another one i said yes as it was suppose to be my birthday dinner so I said why not this drink came after our entrees came which took about 30-40 minutes if not longer and this is when the waiter told me my drink was being made once more and he finally brought it about 5 minutes later. The food was good was far as the entrees go. Then while we ate the waiter brought boxes and told us no rush which i didn't mind so we did end up boxing up our food without the waiter every really coming back to check on us at one point we did over hear him tell a table that a server had been sent home. He then brought the check but never asked us if we wanted dessert so after he brought the check we ordered dessert which didn't take too long and was a delicious macadamia pizzokie. We then paid and left really full for the most part the food was good as far as entrees and dessert but the wait for everything was terrible we were for probably about 2 hours and half from the time we got there to the time we left. read more

We have been going to Oregano's for over 10 years, once a week (that's at least 500 meals and 1,000 beers. In the beginning the food was great. We have seen such a decline. Usually we eat the food and just complain to each other. At times, the food will taste fine but be barely warm. Or overcooked and dry. We tried another Oregano's on University Drive in Tempe and the same dish that South Tempe has a problem with was hot and wonderful. This trip I sent the meal back, as it was barely warm, I swear they brought the same dish back. It was a dish you could add cheese to, the cheese did not even start to melt. They said they were taking the meal off our bill (they took 20% off), which was not what we wanted.....we wanted the old restaurant back, the people that cared. Sorry to say, we are leaving Oreganos! We kept going back in hopes that it would get better after covid, but it's not happening. Good luck Oreganos, Your servers have always been great. I went to visit my son over the weekend (we are from LA) he wanted us to take him to eat at Oreganos. From the moment we got there the service and food were amazing! Got seated right away. Helped right away. Not a long wait for the food! Food and service were so good we ate there Saturday and Sunday before heading back home! Our servers were Taylor and Maddy! DO NOT have VERONIKA as your server!! This is very sad that this place used to be so good, but the food prices have gone up and they're severs are rude. Veronika gave us horrible service the entire time. She greeted our table late after 12 mins of just sitting there waiting for her. My friends ordered drinks from the bar while waiting for the table, I arrived after so I didn't have a drink, she didn't even ask me. We told her we were ready to order, she asked if we wanted water, we said yes and she walked away without waiting for us to tell her our order. She literally walked away as we started to tell her our order. We had to quickly stop her from walking away to put our order in as she dropped off our waters. Other servers brought out the food and my drink. She didn't come back to check on how our food was, she didn't come to refill our waters, she didn't come back to check if we wanted another drink from the bar. I asked for some sour mix for my very strong whiskey sour, she never brought it to me. She had 2 other table in our area (so they were not unstaffed or overbooked in each servers area), she returned to those tables multiple times to check on those people, offered them deserts, etc. but she didn't give us the same service. Very rude, very unprofessional, not great customer service, not even decent service. I love this restaurant but if she is ever my server again, I will ask to be seated with someone else. read more

Went here today at 2:15. There were 4 of us, celebrating a birthday. Didn't get seated until 3:00. even though we were told the wait would be 20-30 minutes. Two of us were splitting a pizza. We ordered it EXTRA CRISPY. The waitress even repeated that. The other 2 people were half way through their meals when our pizza arrived. It was barely cooked, let alone extra crispy. We sent it back. A while later, the waitress brought it back and it was STILL not crispy. We sent it back again. By the time we finally got our pizza, the other 2 people were already done eating. We had to ask the waitress to remove their dirty plates, which had been sitting there quite a while. As much as I like their pizza, not sure I will return. There are so many other options. Because of Covid-19, it was only about 1/3 full. Service should have been great, but alas, it was not. read more

I would eat here every day if I could! The pizza here is incredibly delicious. We tried the pepperoni deep dish. It took about 35 minutes to reach our table, but the wait was definitely worth it. (The waitress advised that it may take up to an hour so the early arrival was a huge bonus!) Everything from the cheese, the sauce, and the crust was absolutely wonderful. During the wait, we had some of their meatballs as an appetizer. They weren't just your average meatballs either. These meatballs were so good that I could have had an entire meal off of them alone and have walked out fully satisfied. Whenever we eat pizza (at other places), I can usually polish off a few slices, but one slice of Oregano's deep dish pizza was certainly filling enough. We ended up with a few days of leftover pizza, but that was of course a very good thing. Every employee here was very nice too (even the ones who weren't serving us.) I almost NEVER post negative reviews. But this was just bad... Like, REALLY bad. The one star is for the stellar service we received in the first 10 min. Thereafter, it all just went downhill fast. What is happening in the kitchen?!? We walked in at 11:10 ordered at 11:25 and didn't receive our food until 12:15?! Our waiter seemed to be covering the entire restaurant so I'm not even sure if it's him or the scheduling of staff. My pasta was over cooked, our pizza was near burnt...The kids meals were room temperature. Our waiter slowly disappeared after some time....but honestly - he was LITERALLY working all different sections. If the food wasn't served as poorly as it was I don't think I would've minded the slow service cause I kinda feel for Troy (I think that's our servers name). But the mixture of both bad food and bad service was too much to not report here on Yelp. I would have loved to speak to a manager, but we couldn't even find our waiter or the hostesses when we were looking for our waiter, so that was not an option. I'm not going to hunt down help for "service". That's just ridiculous. Anyhow, I'll be hitting up the Scottsdale location more often. I've never had this issue there. Oh..and did I mention we had to gather our dirty dishes to make room for dessert and sat with this (see photo) for 20 min at our table. Seven visits to three of their six locations, and I keep having a hard time choosing a best location! Fortunately, the closest to us is on Elliott Road, and have frequented it the most, though not the quaintest of the locations, it is fantastically terrific. Oregano's has become our 'go-to' Italian in the Valley! To date of all the menu items we've been able to enjoy have included: their 10" Stuffed Deep Dish with Caramelized Onions, Meatballs, Spiced Feta; the fabulous Italian Wedding Soup; the Zany Ziti with Sausage which is soooooo good, and I know a great Ziti when I taste it; Oregano's supremely delish Boom Dip; Numero One-O 12" Pizza; the decadent Chicken Parma Pasta; the incredible super Stuffed Riga Tony - superb; their incredibly fresh Big Dinner Salad with Ranch Dressing; Boom Dip; 10" Whole Stuffed Pizza with Sausage, Mushrooms & Onions; the stupendous Flag Lasagna with Meatballs & Sausage; and the Clark Street 16" Pizza; just to mention a few dishes. Their beer and wine selections are terrific, from the Biggie Dos Equis; Canyon Chardonnay; Candoni Pinot Grigio Wine; ice cold Lagunitas Beer Pint Draft; Canyon Cabernet; Dos XX Pint; to the Sangria Blanco. When in the mood for Italian, nothing fancy mind you, Oregano's is where we go, quaint and whimsical décor, great service, attention and reasonably priced, delicious food. Ottimo cibo! read more

4.5 stars for our great visit at Oregano's, as always. We love visiting Oregano's while in Phoenix and this location in Tempe didn't disappoint. We ordered the artichoke dip, but were a little disappointed that the bread served with it wasn't hotter. The pizza was excellent and the only thing we'd have changed if possible, was to leave room for one of the great desserts! Our server was busy, sometimes it seemed a little too busy, as we had to ask for refills and for our check, but things happen. She was trying and was friendly, which goes a long way. read more

A friend told us to try Oregano's during our Spring Training visit. Friday evening we did. Our garlic cheesy bread was great and our Chicago pan pizza was absolutely outstanding. Our server, Kacy, took great care of us and her recommendations proved to be spot on. In fact, we were so happy with our meal and service, we took a group of friends there tonight, just so they could try it too. Our group had a Chicago pan pizza, a giant meatball sandwich, pasta and wings. Everyone enjoyed everything. (Oh and I also got a pizza to take home for tomorrow.) Love your pasta, always delicious! But when used to order the Big Rig, I would always have leftovers on the dinner size portion. Lately it's been looking like the lunch portion dumped in the dinner container and then I pay a few extra bucks for the same amount. Your kitchen and management should take a look at portion sizes because my co workers lunch had way more than my dinner size meal. Love the food still BUT I think you're robbing me of some food that I paid for. It has been noticeably less the last few times and it's pretty much the only thing that I order so I have an idea on how much I should be getting. read more
