I absolutely love this place. My husband grew up in Red Creek, and we now live in Buffalo. We make the journey back and forth to visit his family pretty frequently, and you just can't get there without driving past Orbakers. And the signs on the side of the road telling me to slow down for the food ahead get me every time. It's a really cute drive in restaurant, that is open year round. They have your drive in staples like burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. but then they also have wraps, fish fry, salads (but I don't know who comes here for salad!) and even a garbage plate option, called the winterbeater plate. For those that don't know, garbage plates are a staple of the area and typically include your choice of grilled meat piled on top of your choice of potato and other sides, like Mac salad, and is usually covered in meat sauce. You'll have to come here to try their version :) I don't get down with the plate, but let me say they make a MEAN chicken finger sandwich. And they have multiple French fry options (regular, seasoned waffle cut, and sweet potato). They also serve ice cream and milkshakes year round. For seating, the have counter stools, a dining room, and a patio (open seasonally). The staff is made up of mostly younger kids, probably high school age/college age, every time I've been here they are always working hard and are very polite and quick. Overall, the prices seem a little bit high but you are paying for the experience of an old fashioned drive in. We drove by this place the other day on the way to the Lavender Festival and decided to stop in on the way back. FYI CASH ONLY they do have an atm machine. This place has been a mainstay in the area since the 1930's. They have the area when the food is made and some seating but it's hot as blazes inside. They have all sorts of things to eat but the prices made me question it.. almost $4.00 for one sized order of perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries but you don't get much? I got the Chicken Club it was very tasty, fried piece of chicken, mayo, shredded iceberg lettuce and tomato if you want other stuff on they ask you. The husband got the ground beef burger or the burger they are known for. He got the works and we paid and they brought it to us to the other room which was I'm sure built later that has a/c a plus. I felt so sorry for those kids it had to be about 150 degrees in that place. They bring it all out and the burger/chicken come on small paper plates. Was it good yes, will I make sure I have more cash yes.. The parking lot is large and they have a little green space where you can sit outside. If I'm in the area again I would be sure to come here. Terrible. Everything was sloppy & prepared without care. Hard tomatoes and our sides never came until we were done with our burgers. Fries with gravy were awful. Service was terrible- it wasn't busy but we still had to ask for our drinks because she never brought them. Really just a terrible experience. Very disappointing food and VERY overpriced. First time here. My friend got a burger and some fries. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger and Mozzarella sticks. Our first surprise was when we went to pay and they did not take cards. They do have an ATM, but of course you get fees from the ATM and fees from your bank to use it. So prepare accordingly. The food was pretty good. I asked for my drink with no ice as usual, but the Pink Lemonade I maybe should have because it was warm. Usually the machine keeps it cool enough. Service was a little on the slow side. I rarely get out this far east on 104 but I was in the area and needed lunch and I remembered this gem of a classic drive in. This is a solid Rochester-style hamburger joint like Don's, Schallers, etc. A pretty big menu but I went for the basic cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. Very good and not overcooked. My husband and I have lived in NY most of our lives and we've always wanted to stop in during our driving but never seemed to have a chance. We were driving back to Rochester from Syracuse and decided to stop. We were surprised it was open in December. The place was empty so there was plenty of indoor seating. I swear I had the best burger I've ever had in Rochester. Way better than Bill Greys or anywhere else I've had. It was SO good. The fries and onion rings were ok. Nothing special or out of the ordinary but they were good. My son got the kids Mac and cheese which was really delicious. We've noticed a lot of places that serve this type of food tend to have knock off kraft Mac and cheese that isn't very good. His was awesome. We will be back again and think this is a major hidden gem of Western NY. read more

If you're looking for a treat this is the place. We were back in town and wanted to eat lunch some were other than my fav. Candy kitchen. (I know how could I not go there) Our boys ordered a burger and onion rings, and chicken tenders and fries. Wife ordered a hamburger and onion rings and I got a burger and fries. Not what it used to be. Service is slow like always. They use scoops meant for portioning things like mashed potatoes, Mac salad, etc instead of ice cream scoops. ORBACHERS??* NO WAY!!!!!!!! No service or attention after 22 minutes sitting at the Burger Bar. I just left orbachers. Sat at the Burger Bar for 22 minutes not a single girl ask me if I wanted anything. There were probably 13 people sitting on the stools. 8 girls serving customers and for guys behind the grills. After about 5 minutes sitting there with no attention I started waving the girls. Totally ignored. Another young couple sitting next to me and I asked them have you been waited on yet?? They have been there longer than I had. They said no they had not been waited on. Simply Amazing. YIKES! The restaurant isn't clean and the lack of an ordering system is completely bonkers. Service was great once we were finally waited on, but the wait was frustrating for sure. There's a total lack of any sort of shift management going on and it shows with the amount of tasks that need doing and employees visibly standing around int he back (trash overflowing, clutter all over the place, dirty dishes, boxes of product out on the counter, grill employees walking around eating/drinking on the floor, fry warmer tray overflowing, and the list goes on)! Not sure if I didn't notice all these infractions in the past or maybe it's gone downhill since I was younger? If you want an old style sloppy greasy cheeseburger that may take a a few days off your life then this is the place to go. Honestly the drive in burger is one of my all time favorites, throw meat hot on it and you got yourself a meal that will hold you over for an entire day. Kids - chicken finger meal came with "dog bone" scooby cookies, 2 tiny chicken fingers and hardly any fries. Wife got a hotdog, mushroom poppers. Road tripping! Stumbled upon this place and ate here based on reviews. Staff are friendly and wore gloves as food was handled. It's definitely a greasy spoon given that 95% of the food is fried. They seam to do mostly burgers but also serve wraps as well as a few other sandwiches. Price is good for what you get. My husband had a milkshake that he greatly enjoyed. I would suggest they spend some time cleaning. I sat staring at dirty coffee stirrers while I ate which is what really caused me to not rate them very high. read more

I've gone to Orbaker's all my life, even though I live far away now. When I went in May, it was as wonderful as it always consistently was. Then I went back at the end of July, and it was terrible. After many years, it had a new owner. The burger was nowhere near the quality it used to be, it was made with obviously less expensive beef and the roll was nothing, while they used to have very good rolls. The onions on the burger were tasteless thin little rings, rather than the chopped sweet onions they had always had. The waffle fries were overdone and way over salted, as opposed to the perfect ones I'd had there in May. My husband ordered a fish sandwich, which had always been generous and delicious in the past, this time it was a tiny bit of fish on the same nothing roll my burger was on. The new owner had declared in news accounts that he was going to change nothing at all, that the food would stay the same as it had always been and that the only change would be that he'd add some new items. Right. How to ruin a very old and beloved restaurant, new owner. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

I have been going to Orbakers for 30 years. It has a old school nostalgia to it as you order at the counter and can eat there if you choose to. They have one of the best hand pressed burgers around. I absolutely love there onion rings. Every time my family and I are in the area we have to stop and eat. They now have a large dining area to enjoy your meal and will even bring the food to you. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the prices have been raised a little over the years but the food is still awesome. read more

We did a hike at Chimney Bluffs and then stopped here on the way back for some serious energy. A cheeseburger and milkshake was exactly what I needed. This restaurant is ran by teenagers and they do a PHENOMENAL job. They have an organized system to get your order and food to you with little wait time. They are trying to work around covid by putting numbers on the counter that are spaced and customers are supposed to go to an open spot when available. Eh, it's a great idea in theory. In actuality people come in with their families so a group is often taking up a number. The workers are doing a nice job by actually also delivering food to outside tables. These kids really are doing amazing all in mask and no air condition. They alone are a reason to come back. I ordered a black raspberry milkshake and it was perfect.
